Golden Falls University in the New York countryside is a wonder to behold. When most of the junior class from Paranormal Public University, along with two chaperons - including Charlotte's boyfriend Keller - visit Golden Falls for the semester, their first impression is that it is an idyllic place. Golden Falls presents itself as completely opposed to darkness and violence, and at first Charlotte and her friends think they’ve found a sanctuary from the Nocturns. But a spate of murders, including two of their own Public classmates, changes everything. Between a course load that is staggering and a fight with darkness that is only getting darker, it's hard to see how Charlotte and her friends will make it through the semester unscathed.

Although I've enjoyed reading this series and I always seem to go through the books really fast, I'm getting increasingly frustrated with several things:
1. There seems to be a massive lack of caring from the adults about the amount of young people dying and they then blame Charlotte for it (to what I can understand just on the basis on being alive) and I find this a bit unrealistic that so many people in charge can be so uncaring.
2. Charlotte is hated by basically the majority of the paranormal race, again I'm not really sure why, because as the only elemental, you'd think she'd be put up on a pedestal. She's treated like crap and none of the adults ever really step in and stand up for her.
3.the nocturns are blatantly killing, breaking laws, etc and just getting away with it. I understand the reluctance to declare war, but no individual person seems to get in trouble either. What do the government or even the school board do there? Just sit and watch, and again this seems unrealistic.
4. Charlotte never really stands up for herself either, just lets other people like Lisabelle take over and I just want her to step up and lead the good guys, but she never does.
Basically this book once again has some poor students dying, no one really doing anything about it and more relationship angst for Charlotee and Keller. I finished feeling disappointed, though I will probably still read the next one!
Elemental Earth is book seven of the Paranormal Public series by Maddy Edwards.
In a kind of exchange program, Charlotte and some of the other juniors, along with Keller and Marcus, are sent to Golden Falls, another paranormal college, for a semester. Of course, things couldn't be that easy. Attacked by demons on the way is only the start of the chaos. Murder, demon attacks, and some strange lab equipment add up to a not so peaceful semester.
The drama though might just happen between Keller and Charlotte. They visit his family, and that doesn't go much better than you'd think. Or maybe a whole lot worse.
now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.
The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.
i would highly recommend this author and this book.
I think this has been my favourite so far :) I hope that Charlotte learns all she can about her powers and really starts fighting back soon!! I cant wait to get started on reading the next one!
I am just so addicted to these books. Yes there are spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, but when I look past them the storyline keeps me hooked and all i want to do is curl up and read.
amazing writing! I thought maybe the third and book would slow down and the story go awray but Maddy Edwards pulls you through another book of excitement, drama, and cliffhangers.
