So I finally found some time to finish reading this collection of short stories referencing ghosts that have "lingered" after their time has come and gone. Seven stories authored by seven talented writers, its no surprise after having read these stories now, near the Halloween season, has left me in a deeper mood and appreciation for the dark and macabre.

With that said, there were some stories that spoke stronger than the others, but each of them had their own unique twists that ended in a multitude of ending types: sadness, resolution, happiness, confusion, and temporary insanity, all which were good. Such an array of angles and moods to explore, it really left me as a reader wondering what really happens in the after life and if spirits do linger on in the capacity this collection of stories portrays.

I have it four out of five stars for its wide spectrum of exploration and for not sticking with your typical horror endings we see so much these days. It was refreshing to know that some stories end on a good note and in good taste.

I was so excited to be offered the chance to review Linger! It consists of seven different stories, by seven different authors. Each author had the ability to keep me turning the page to see what was next and kept me wishing there was more to each story. It was a wonderful experience to see each author’s creativity come out in their own unique way. I highly recommend this book!
