What I Loved:

This story has still got me captive as I read through it. The characters are still their amazing selves, though there's a lot more emotional drama in this book in comparison to Natural Selection. The story is fast paced, and a very quick and easy read. Amelia is still trying to find herself, which is completely understandable when you realize how quickly she grew up in the last book. I'm actually really impressed how well she handles herself in this book. And I'm still in love with the succubus, Sariah. In Second Natureshe really takes more of a rounder-character personaility, where she is still obviously a succubus demon, but you get to see her "true form" and she plays a much bigger part in Amelia's life than just a sister who sleeps around alot. Also, I don't think this spoils you if you've read the first book, but I totally love how Elizabeth ends her books (at least the first one followed this pattern and I'd be willing to bet the next does as well) with the viewpoint of the next villain to be taken down. It's not really a cliff hanger, per se, but it does make one anxious for the next installment).
What I Didn't Like:

There were a few typos that distracted from the reading. Other than that, no real complaints.
My Overall Review:

(5 of 5 Stars) Electrifying and Enchanting

Once I read the first book in this series, I was very anxious to read the second; it didn't disappoint. There is something to a paranormal creature learning about their powers that makes a captivating story. Usually it includes mess-ups, as The Forces of Natures Series does, but it's also seeing someone clumsily controlling things, turn and have true power. In Second Nature Amelia is on her own as a gaia, living with demons who may or may not know more about her nature than they let on, who is still getting used to her powers. Add in a cute angel and reluctant should-be-mate, and Amelia would have had her hands full without an evil witch to stop. Still, with all the pressure she faces, Amelia remains altogether cool and that's what I think makes her such an interesting character. I will definitely be looking forward to Forces of Nature Book Three.

Elizabeth Sharp has done it again! Another wonderful book! If you read the first one, you know that Amelia ended the first story being married/mated to her high school crush and had barely escaped a human turned witch's horrible desire to rid the world of Otherworlders. Her brother and sister use their unique demon powers to help defeat the wannabe witch and the story appears that things are looking up for the Hoffman siblings. As this story starts though, you soon realize that Amelia and Nate (though possibly destined to be together) are not as happy as they should be. They were WAYYYYYYY too young to be married and mated. Amelia was only 16 and Nate is 17 or 18. You feel like the perfect pair is a girl's worst nightmare as Nate keeps drifting further and further away with no good explanation other than not being ready to settle down. Of course you can't blame him really since two Gaia are mated as soon as they kiss with the intentions of that kiss being more than a simple kiss. Their life forces are tired together because they gave into to temptation. It puts a whole new meaning to being chaste until your wedding night. However they never take their relationship forward even one bit because of Nate's disappearing acts. Amelia learns to hate him for abandoning her even though she still has her brother and sister.

All of this brings us to a point where she meets an angel while running from her problems. I do mean a literal angel but not the type you would normally picture. You need to read the story to understand how angels fit in this world. Amelia's world is turned upside down by the feelings she thinks she has for Dylan, the angel, and also by Peter's discovery of her family. Peter is the husband (and true warlock) to the wannabe witch from book one. He's out to destroy Amelia and her family at any cost. This is the focus of the story. How does Amelia deal with love lost, new love found, and a raging psychopath trying to kill everyone she loves? And did I mention a prophecy about Mother Nature returning to earth to either destroy it or bring the Otherworlders into peace time? Yeah there's that too, but you only get a glimpse of that and know that there must be a third book on the way where the prophecy will unfold.

Oh how I loved this book!! I started with the first book in the series, Natural Selection, and I fell in love with this story. This isn't a review on that first book but I just loved it. A definite five star must read! Second Nature is just as good, if not a little better, since all the drama kicks up a notch and there are some great new characters.

I love Lia (Amelia) so much. She just continues to impress me as a character. She is strong and she is very intelligent. I love when she is learning more about her powers and her destiny. She can really kick some butt, and this book shows that so much.

Nate is just a mess. Don't get me wrong, I love his character so much. I am totally rooting for him here, Team Nate!, but he is just screwing things up all over the place with Lia. I wanted to feel bad for him but I was pretty stinking angry at him. Pull your head out of your.......well you get the picture.

Of course while Nate is being a bit of an idiot, in walks Mister Tall, Dark, and Angel; Dylan. Well I'm going to say he is swoon worthy (sorry Nate) and I can't blame Lia for being curious. He is sweet, caring, and he is willing to be patient for her to be ready. Yep, he's a dream.

I love that Sharp does not just focus on specific characters. While this story is primarily about Lia, we still get to see so much of Sariah and Xander's lives. I am so happy that Sariah is finding her own in this book. She is growing, too, and I love who she is becoming. Xander is the ever protective older brother. He is one of my absolute favorite characters.

This book is just a crazy ride! So much adventure, romance, and drama. I love all the paranormal aspects that Sharp writes about. The world of Forces of Nature just keeps growing and getting better! I think this series is a major must read. I cannot wait to read the next book. I can only imagine what will happen next!

In my opinion Second Nature by Elizabeth Sharp was a great book.  This was the second installment to the series.  The first book was called Natural Selection.  The flow from book one to book two was seamless.  As a reader you didn't have to miss out on anything.  By flowing it went along with what life does at a steady pace with no real gaps in sequence.  We follow Lia, her sister, brother, and intended bond Nate on a journey to finish what needs to be done in order to full fill their destinies.  Along the way they meet up with people that will enrich their family in order to help Lia with her chosen path.  I was captured by the emotions that Elizabeth poured out of her heart.  Each character was unique in their own right and had many different faucets to their abilities and characteristics.  I am looking forward to many more books in the future from Elizabeth she is one author that can engage your mind and emotions.  Definitely a 5 star book a must read on Barnes and Noble, smashwords.com, and Amazon.  Another thing I liked was she talked about some of the other books at her fellow authors have written at 4 Press Corners.  I have also read these authors and these particular books and found it engaging that she used them in the story as Lia was reading them or talking about them.  If I had not already read them I would have gotten them to read.

I read the first book in this series, Natural Selection. It was really wonderful. It moved quickly and had just enough tension to keep the pages turning. I couldn’t wait for the second book to come out.

Sharp builds complex and unique characters. I never feel like I know what they will do next. There are twists and turns you don’t imagine and the characters grow and develop along with the storyline. This second book develops the characters so you see not only their strengths but also the vulnerabilities and weaknesses. We begin to see

Second Nature is clearly an extension of the first book and leaves room for future stories. It feels like things are left unresolved between several characters and they have more growth and challenges to come.

The story reaches across the time span from the first book and carries over some of the antagonist characters. One of the things I really like about Sharp’s writing is, though most antagonists tend to be one dimensional, she gives us some insight into their motivations and desires. It is rare to watch the development of the villains along with the heros. You can almost feel pity for them. Of course then they prove their worth as a villain and do something to justify your dislike.

This book was hard for me to put this one down. I anxiously await future stories from Elizabeth Sharp. She is a talented writer.

Elizabeth takes you through the Otherworld with ease and precision. If you can’t get enough of the paranormal, this would be the book for you; with a Succubus, Djinn, Witches, Gaia and Angel, this one’s full of them.

Taking up from where the Natural Selection ended, Amelia has found a new start to life with her siblings Sariah and Xander. But life’s not as rosy as it should be. With Nate behaving distantly and strange killings going on around, Lia is preparing for another battle.

Who is she putting herself up against? Can she withhold the power the enemy displays? What would happen between her and Nate? All these answers are found in this fast-paced book as time reveals the bigger truth. You will be grappling to know what happens next as the story inches forward.

And the story doesn’t end here. I believe the next one is going to pack in even more action than this book. Are you ready for it?

This book was bit slow for me. I love fast paced books and this book at times seemed like it was going nowhere or rather in circles. But I think the next one would be better.

The first book in this series is called Natural Selection. This is a Young Adult series and can be reminds me of James Patterson's novels about Angel and Maxx Ride. Amelia is wrote with such enthusiasm we can easily visualize her throughout the book. If you have not read the first book I will just let you know Amelia and are HS crush are mated (married in our world). How old is she again?! Yes they are both very young and have to learn to at least pretend and be cordial to one another to make it in the world. What is Nate's definition of pretending? Running away from their problems! Now Amelia is left to face off the world that we know, crazy Otherworlders, lost love & new found love, and the Otherworld itself. To me this is a YA version of Kim Harrison's series Rachel Morgan! I really enjoyed this series and hope their is another! Want a copy of your own? Visit Amazon!

Amelia has grown up a lot since the last book Natural Selection. She’s had to, she’s a kid in an adult world and now Amelia and Nate are expected to have an adult relationship. Needless to say, Nate is freaking out.

I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. The first book was awesome but this one is phenomenal. Amelia is loyal and loving but doesn’t take any crap. The character’s are so dimensional, especially for a young adult book. The story had so many layers and I couldn’t put it down. It was BY FAR the BEST Young adult book I’ve read in an extremely long time.

Throw in the sexy stranger *don’t want to give too much away* and I promise you will be begging for the next installment of the Forces of Nature Series!

I love how Lia is coming into her own, finding her place and maturing and taking more responsibility even though there are those who would do it for her. Can't wait to read more...
