Someone donated this at work and I snatched it from the donation box because it caught my eye. I haven't read all of the text yet because this is a huge coffee table type of book, but the colorful illustrations are amazing and there are so many! Birds on birds on birds. This is a great reference for drawing especially and I'm obsessed with it right now.

I read this book when I started becoming intensely fascinated by birds, and I’m so grateful for this book. It has taught me so much.

This book contains exceptional descriptions and illustrations of fowl depicting everything from anatomy and physiology to diet, plumage, mating, nesting, rearing, and my favorite, the development of the chick. This is truly a great work, although I thought the evolutionary references were a bit much. I'm beginning to think it's a cop-out explanation for creation.
