Bringing her into their world, was not part of the plan.

When Samantha (aka Sam) finds herself falling in love with not one, but two men she's been having a no-strings ménage relationship with, she decides splitting up is the right thing to do. Jordan and Alex refuse to commit, but Sam needs more stability in her life, especially when she finds out she is about to take on a whole lot more responsibility.

Jordan and Alex grew up together in a small town of jaguar shifters, where being a half-blood was looked down upon, even by their own fathers. Once they became adults, they left their community and joined a secret military operation call the Alpha Division, a team of shifters keeping the peace with any means necessary, and their next mission comes close to home. Both men feel they have too many secrets for commitment, but at the same time cannot stand the thought of losing Sam.

When Jordan and Alex's past comes back to haunt them, a possible traitor on the team threatens the woman they love and a future they have never dreamt. Once secrets are revealed, can the three of them forget the past and forgive the lies or will fear drive them further apart?

Sam is a lucky woman, she has two hot men to satisfy her sexual needs and that they do! Unfortunately for Sam that's all she gets and at times she feels used...

Alex and Jordan have a secret life, yes they're shifters but they also work for an undercover operations unit called Alpha division, they care for Sam but they keep her at arms length as they don't want to bring her into there dangerous world.

Sam makes a difficult decision and decides to leave her two hot sexy men, the break up is not pleasant. Fast forward six months and they're all pushed together again, a lot is going to have to change, on both sides to make things work, starting with them all being honest with each other!

If there's not enough going on in their relationship, there's also a big undercover operation in progress.

A great book I have to say, it's full of hot sex, these men do a great job pleasing their woman. Jordan is need of a talking to in this book, at times I found him to distant and it annoyed me (I know it was characther development!) but Alex most definitely made up for Jordan's shortfall at that time in the book.

I liked how we got introduced to the other shifters later in the book, so you know main characthers well by then, Bear oh my his a character, hope he gets a book.

To recap, sexy shifters, ménage, action and blood, hot bedroom scenes and love.

I'm going straight on to read book 2

Yes, yes, I've been on a ménage kick, but you have two hot men, one bold woman and the added spice of being shifters? What more could any reader ask for? Jordan and Alex are jaguars who are escaping their past and now working for the government in an Alpha Division. Sam is their neighbor, and an instant attraction and friendly banter turn into a threesome with "no strings attached." After a few months Sam can't stand it any longer and worse … she's pregnant. A fight leads to her moving away, which leads to a car crash (it flows in the book), which leads her right back with Alex and Jordan. There's more trouble on the horizon then their relationship. Alex and Jordan's hometown has some weirdness going down, and the Alpha Division has to take control. There's a bit too many convenient circumstances, and I have to admit I'm not a fan of pregnant heroines (my own issue!), but, all in all, the scenes were hot, and there was a glimpse of the awesomeness that surrounds the Alpha Division. I hope there are future books.'

What is there not to love about this book?! Nothing!!! With Shifted Temptations you get two hot and sexy jaguar shifters for the price of one. There is passion (right of the bat), heartbreak and danger all tied up into one delicious, alpha-male book. I would highly recommend this series to fans of the PNR genre. I am looking forward to seeing what C.E. Black comes up with in the next book in this series.

Shifted Temptations is a great shifter romance by C.E. Black. Ms. Black has provided readers with a well-written book filled with outstanding characters. This is a M/F/M menage so it may not be for everyone. Jordan and Alex are shifters that left their community and joined the Alpha Division. Sam becomes friends and then more to Jordan and Alex but they aren't willing to commit so she moves to another city. Jordan, Alex and Sam's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from C.E. Black in the future. Shifted Temptations is book 1 of the Alpha Division Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This was a very solid story from C.E. Black. The Alpha Division was an interesting concept and I liked Alex and Sam right off the bat, but it took muuuuuch longer for me to warm up to Jordan. He came off as boorish at first blush but as his character evolved he became much more likeable. There was a lot going on in the story and at times I felt that it was too much or connected awkwardly. But, as this was the inaugural book in the series, that could have been the result of world building. The series has definitely intrigued me enough that I want to continue it to see what happens with the other shifters in the Alpha Division.

Very nice and let s not forget hot read!! A perfect threesome that actually works from the beginning, that´s quite unusual. Add the shifter factor, it becomes great. I loved the characters and their complexity. The story evolves to different stages and keep us wrapped in it. A great moment.

First in the Alpha Division erotic paranormal romance series and revolving around a ménage à trois with Samantha, Jordan, and Alex in Tennessee.

My Take
I can sure see why sex with two hunks would be fun, but I can also see why Sam's dilemma would kill the mood. And while a male/female/male romance may not seem like it has good role model material, Sam's decision to stop is a good example for any woman, no matter how many partners she has.

And, yeah, starting with friendship is great, evolving into a sharing relationship is great, but not when that's all it turns into. I gotta say, Jordan and Alex are pretty clueless when Sam complains about the sex. Hullo? If they can be friends, why can't they still include friendship with the sex??

Then Sam drops that shocker, and their reaction has me all up in arms. What jerks!! I sure did love her response to that one!! She's a strong woman, and it took this crisis for her to discover that.

We know that the three of them have their discoveries through Black's use of third personal triple protagonist point-of-view from Sam's, Alex's, and Jordan's perspectives, even if they are uneven in realizing their individual truths, which makes the story more interesting (and adds more pages *grin*). Although, Bear does get a chance to put in his perspective, briefly expanding the POV.

As for the boys' hometown, yuck. I can see why they wouldn't want to pull Sam into their lives...if they ever chose to go home. And why would they?? Black needed to develop this aspect better.

That Liz is definitely a good friend, even if she does employ friendly blackmail. I expect the end result was what Liz was hoping for, lol. It sure does "backfire" on the boys!

While there's some exciting action, it's primarily character-driven...on the part of both the good guys and the bad guys.

The pace and prose are fine, but the writing itself is immature. Black has a cute story with emotion, but I'd like to see the plot more developed with better reasoning for Alex's dad's actions and more about the Alpha Division's activities.

Black also leaves a lot of questions unanswered...or doesn't develop a reasoning for some of the characters' actions.

The Story
Sam screwed up. She fell in love with both of them. And it wasn't meant to be. It couldn't be. So...it had to end.

It takes a trip and a "fall" to pull Jordan and Alex back into Sam's world, and it takes a fatal mission to pull them back out.

The Characters
Samantha "Sam" Adams is a file clerk for a lawyer who finds herself pregnant.

Liz is Sam's best friend who lives in Knoxville where she's an executive assistant to a hotel owner. Rachael had been Liz's only sibling.

Jaguar shifters both, Jordan Hunt and Alex Wright, they left their pack, their home, and now run a computer programming company from their apartment. They're also undercover on-call operatives for Alpha Division.

Alpha Division is...
...a secret special operations 10-member shifter team covering Virginia, Tennessee, and North and South Carolina for the US government commanded by Teij, a Bengal tiger. Leo is Jordan's partner. Bear is quite protective. Paul is on his first mission. Leo shifts into a lion, natch. Terry is a female fox shifter and sniper while Hawk shifts into his namesake.

Wilde Mountain, Virginia, is...
...Alex and Jordan's small prejudiced shifter hometown — full-blood and mixed. Well, used to be "mixed". Markus Stone had been a childhood bully. The abusive, alcoholic Lee Hunt is Jordan's father. Alexander James Wright, Sr, is Alex's father, full of his own importance and plenty of hypocrisy. Alex's human mother, Luanne, had been a drunk. Layla Katz is an old full-blood friend. Angeline is Paul's mother, a full-blood. Tye is an undefeated tiger.

Samuel Ellis Wolford is CEO and owner of the Wolford Hotels...and a playboy. He's also Liz's boss. Susan is a nurse at the hospital. I think Dr Reynolds is an obstetrician.

The Cover and Title
The cover is dark with a stormy gray sky as a background and a barechested (nicely muscled) male facing us exposed from his nose to his beltline where a hand is reaching inside his pants, as another hand reaches over his right shoulder. His left arm is colored and spotted to reflect his jaguar side with a jaguar's head at his elbow, his eyes looking out to the left. Just above the boy's neck on the right is the series information barely visible in red. The title spans his chest in a white script. Just above the jaguar's nose at the bottom is an info blurb, also in barely visible red with the author's name immediately below that in a soft orange.

I reckon the title is how Sam feels about those Shifted Temptations, and I sure can't blame her, lol.

The blurb was promising, it is something right up my alley but the execution left a lot to be desired. I was bored and truth be told, I skimmed a lot of pages. So many unresolved scenes in my opinion. Not going to be reading the rest of the books from this series.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Shifted Temptations is the first book I have read by author C.E. Black. I really enjoyed this shifter romance too. I thought it was really neat to see all three character perspectives. With one chapter being Sam's and then one being Alex, and one being Jordan, it was really unique to see what all the characters were thinking and feeling throughout the book.
This was really well written and a very good thought out story. I liked Sam for her independence, her strong will, and determination. I liked Alex for his easy going ways, his easy smile, and how determined he was to get Sam back into his life. Jordan was the one character I wanted to smack sometimes though. He was a hard-ass, and seemed like he made a lot of mistakes with both Sam and Alex, but after a while, he became the hero I like to see in my romances. Dedicated, and sweet. With a hidden charm that I just loved.
Shifted Temptations was a heartfelt, sexy, sassy joy ride I LOVED immensely. I liked the shifter elements, the sex was phenomenal, with the perfect type of tension between the characters, and the romance was sweet and seductive while the story just drew me in. I give this a stunning FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS!! Its perfectly delectable!

A perfect mix between paranormal and erotica....
This was an addicting book...ok I mean two men to love you, who wouldn't want that? And two total polar opposite men. I have an appreciation for the heroine and her true genuine sweet nature, you cannot help but love her as well. But the storyline isn't all lovey-dovey. I enjoyed every minute of the action, the explanation of the "shifts" and battle scenes were perfect and I was completely surprised by the ending. I cannot say how much more I loved this book. A perfect mix between paranormal and erotica. Plus I have a soft spot for...well, I'm not going to spoil...you'll have to read it!

Have you ever fantasized about being with two men at once. That's what Sam short for Samantha had and though it was only supposed to be f-buddies Sam felt more , wanted more.
So let Alex and Jordan know this plus the fact she was pregnant. This did not go over well , they all started fighting that didn't end well. Sam and her friend Liz lived together and were going to raise the baby together, they had it all planned out. But as we all know nothing goes as planned.
There is a lot of fun Thrilled Action , Hot Sex , Betrayal , Blood and Tears. This book has everything and believe me you will order pizza so you can finish this book. I was gifted this ARC for a honest and truthful review.

Sam, Jordan, and Alex make the perfect match. In the beginning I wanted to shake Sam, Jordan, and Alex and make them realize what they were tossing away. They say love always finds a way and I can say this story shows that and more. The chemistry these 3 have is fire hot. I feel C.E. Black did an amazing job bringing these characters to life and the feelings of love and frustration I was able to feel right along with the characters.

Jordan and Alex feel like outsiders in their own clan. They go and work for a secret agency protecting humans. But they were never suppose to fall for a human. What happens when she finally has enough of them not wanting more.

Sam is a human. She has been seeing Jordan and Alex in a no string attached relationship but she finally wants more. But Jordan and Alex think that their dark secrets are not worth them having happiness. Will Sam make them see that they are wrong.

OMG!! Won a copy of this book in the give away. Could not put it down the second I began to read. I have to say this is one of the best paranormal romances I have read. The relationship between these three is HOT!! They each have very different personalities but it really works to balance them out. Would love to see if anything happens with some of the side characters like liz & Bear.

I really like this book. the characters are great and the story is solid. I like the way C.E. Black heads her chapters with the characters actually thinking/talking it makes it easier to follow. This the first book I've read from this author and won't be my last

Boy, can this lady write steamy scenes! I'm not sure if this is paranormal erotica or erotica with a paranormal story-line, but whatever it is - it works. There were plenty of twists and turns in in the plot and the characters were well-drawn. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.

What a mix up of emotions this one was. I am confused as to what the problem was with having a relationship with Samantha. Apart from being shifters which is not a difficult thing to deal with.
Alex at least realized he had screwed up quickly and tried to find Sam and after the accident he was trying to be a good guy.
But Jordon I could not get my head around at all. He just seemed to be Mr. Negative. His childhood was horrific in so many ways and obviously contributes to his rotten behaviour. I also did not like the cheating aspect of him with Layla, you do not have sex with someone else when you have unresolved feelings for another person. Realizing he loved Sam whilst having sex with another woman, BIG NO NO for me. Job or no job I did not like Jordon at all and they should have moved on without him. Nearly stopped reading there and then.
Samantha just wanted more from their no strings relationship, she loved Jordon and Alex and finding out she was pregnant was the deciding factor in asking for a proper relationship. When they accused her of getting pregnant on purpose she knew they could not give it to her. She made a brave decision and moved away. I liked Samantha and was on her side all the way until the big heart to heart scene.
It then fell apart with Sam being soft and letting Jordon off the hook about Layla so easily. I cannot understand her thinking that it was okay for them to do ANYTHING (have sex to get information) as long as they came home safely though. Yeah right, I can imagine those thought whirling around every time they went on a mission.
Then the book really took off and it became a great story and I even forgave Jordon.
Now apart from all of this it was a really great story with so much tension, upheaval and conflict. The last 10 chapters were awesome with so much story as to be a book in themselves.
I will be reading the rest of this series.

When Samantha (Sam) falls in love with the two hot men she has been having a no-strings menage relationship with, she decides a clean split is the right thing for her to do so she can have stability in her life considering the extra responsibility she is about to take on. Jaguar shifters Jordana nd Alex grew up together in the same small town when being a half-blood was looked won upon (even by their own fathers). So they left and joined a secret military shifter operation called the Alpha Division where they can keep the peace of their own kind. They had agreed that a commitment was too much and so the arrangement with Sam was perfect even though the thought of losing her is something they cannot stand. When their past comes back to haunt them a possible traitor in their team threatens the woman who they love and a future they had never dreamt of. When the secret is revealed can they forget the past and forgive all of the lies or will fear still drive them apart?

I enjoyed this story which has a lot of drama and danger mixed in with moments of passion and happiness. I loved the way that Jordan and Alex were very similar in some ways and yet completely opposite in others. I get the feeling that Liz is going to become central to some stories later in the series. Well written and easy to read and understand. It was easy to feel some of the emotions at points in the story (even if you thought they were stupid or irrational). Contains explicit sexual content.

Fighting for Love!

Sam, Alex & Jordan's story is filled with lots of shifters, sex scenes, fighting, good guys, bad guys & some fast-paced action.

Even though Sam had been having sex with Jordan & Alex for sometime she decided that if they didn't want to commit to a relationship outside of sex then she was going to break it off with them & move away. & that's exactly what she winds up doing after a big fight with them; she winds up moving into a house with her BFF, Liz.

Alex & Jordan finally come to their senses & decide that they love her & want her back; but they have trouble finding out where she's moved to & were almost going to give up when Liz calls them because Sam was in a car accident & has some broken bones. But, all is not as it seems as when Sam left them she was pregnant with their child & now because Liz was going on a business trip & Sam now needs someone to help her because of the casts & the pregnancy; Liz suggests that Alex & Jordan look after her & Alex agrees.

But as Alex & Jordan try to win her back they are also in the midst of getting more info on a mission that they will eventually have to leave for & things don't always work out like they are planned.

That's as far as I'm going to tell you other than this is a HEA story & it was very good.

DNF.... 52% read through..... I love shifter stories and enjoy the occasional menage but this book had me cringing in a variety of ways. First, the constant editing issues was horrendous. Having to think the words to their right tense or proper english was a chore. Second, the Heroes were difficult to enjoy at all. Their first introduction in the story was very lackluster then the fact they gave up searching for the woman they both 'love' seemed just lazy and not what a Heroine would even want in a guy let alone two of them. Then we have the scene where one Hero has intimate dealings with another woman all the while thinking how much he loves the Heroine. Nope, just nope. Then finally just the 1st person point of view will kill a book for me faster than anything else. This was filled with so much inner thoughts but little actual conversation. Oh, and let's not even talk about the passing of time without some note of it in the book at all. We jump days forward without a new chapter or a little, Two days later, kind of note so we can keep up with where they are in their lives. I'm not impressed.

SERIES REVIEW- This was my first book by C.E.Black and it was nearly perfect. I felt like this first book was very long with a lot of different twists, characters and multiple storylines. It felt a little dragging at times but I know it was to not only tell the story of Sam/Alex/Jordan but to also to introduce the rest of the characters and set the stage for more books. I did finish the entire series of what has been published but the overall theme has not been totally resolved (gotta catch the villain!). I will definitely be looking for the rest as the come out.
On a side note, these books have several steamy scenes each, which are totally hot, but the main story building is the focus so if your looking for a good story with your steamy alphas, this is it. Only issue between characters/ couples is communication, which is sometimes frustrating as a reader when you want to yell “just tell him/her what your thinking and this would be resolved!” Instead there’s a lot of running from each other because of what they “think” the other person wants/feels.

Awesome!!

This was a great start to a new series. I love how Sam was already with Jordan & Alex when the book started. You don't see that often so it was a great change.

Jordan & Alex make mistakes as expected with any man but they know they have something special with Sam and know it's worth fighting for. I love how they proved themselves to Sam and how far they were willing to go to get her forever.

This book had some great action and even better sex scenes. Those 3 had their fair share of issues but the sex wasn't one. I'm excited to read Paul's book. I want to get in his head and see past that emotionless mask he wears so perfectly.

Sam enters a no strings sexual relationship with her two hot neighbors. But of course, strings develop. When Sam brings up embracing those strings the guys are less than receptive. In fact they are a couple of jerks. Of course they regret it and want to change their minds and blah blah blah. Then there is something about them being secret agents or whatever. But really the characters were pretty lame, the story was boring and I just wasn't feeling it.

3.5 stars. I like how this author writes, good story. Missing the growly alpha who claims his/their mate...no "MINE!!" or bite marks. Other than their job, I still see no reason not to have wanted a real relationship? To me Jordan acted the most like a cat...growly and aloof.
