This book completely saved my life my first semester of college. I failed to pay attention in my psych stats (#freshmanyearsucks) but with the help of this book, I was able not only to catch up, but also get nothing but As throughout the remaining semester. Granted I ended up with a C+, but I pulled it up after getting a solid F on the midterm.
It's readable, understandable and starts from the ground up. Plenty of practice problems and clearly formatted in a way that even someone who abhors math can understand it if they work at it.

I suppose that me saying that I read this entire book is a lie. I only read it until I figured I could get by in the class without reading it. I think it'll be the first book from my doctoral program that gets sold back to the bookstore. It would probably be good for someone going into advanced statistics, but guess what. That's not me.

I've read about half of it (just the topics I was interested in); in my opinion, if you need or want to understand psychological statistics, this is THE book to read. Barry Cohen does a great job explaining everything in such a way that pretty much anybody can understand, provided that you have some basic math knowledge - and I really mean basic.

This was a very good book barring a few typos up until Chapter 13 when things started getting very opaque. I am glad to have finally learned the essentials of ANOVA but the advanced topics will have to come from some other title.

I've read the chapters needed for uni, Cohen explains stuff better then the teacher and that's a bit better but as studying this it's awful , I think I'll forget everything in a week
