Computer guru Abbi Hayes needs to kick her sex life into overdrive—and she’s designing the perfect App to make it happen. Thanks to all of the self-help bedroom tips she’s accumulating, she’ll be able to go from boring and passive to own-him-now vixen with a couple of swipes of a touch screen. And when former NBA basketball star Joe Fuller offers to help her test out her ‘product,’ how can she say no?
Joe can’t quite believe this temptress-in-training is his formerly shy, geeky ex-math tutor. If Abbi wants to discover her inner vamp, he’ll happily be her how-to guide. But it only takes few face-to-face lessons to realize that underneath the talk, there’s a truly passionate woman begging to be claimed by someone strong. Someone like him.
Maybe it’s time to teach his former teen fantasy a few tricks of his own…

No rating, no review. Just didn't connect with the writing style. If you're curious why, my status updates below just about sum it up. I'm obviously in the minority here, so don't let me deter you from reading it. Plenty of people obviously enjoyed it. Sadly it just wasn't my cuppa.

3.5 - "Sometimes you can hit a home run without touching first base." Stars.
Taming his Tutor is the first book I have read by Natalie Anderson, it was fun, flirty, and sexy, with easy to like characters and a well developed storyline.
”We’re both adults. No age of consent issues now.”
The school jock and the school nerd are reunited after ten years... To say that things have changed somewhat for both of them would be an understatement, although they are both still battling past insecurities one has become successful in the IT field, while the other has hit the highs of sports stardom, and after a horrific injury is becoming a successful businessman in his own right.
Abbi Hayes is a bit of a geek, after struggling for years with self-confidence issues and shyness, she is gradually pulling herself out of her shell, with the aid of her over-confident friend and a banging new made-to-measure wardrobe. Bumping into her old school crush, after he saves her from becoming road-kill doesn't do a lot of help her insecurities, especially as the reason for her distraction while crossing the road is a Self Help audio-book...
The ‘Vixen’ is irresistible to men, full of allure, culture, mystery, she’s utterly magnetic. With some practise you can be –“
After inadvertently overhearing what Abbi is listening too, Joe Fuller is determined to help her achieve her goals, he always did have a little crush on her, and in exchange for the 6 maths lessons she gave him while in school, he offers her 6 lessons in the art of attracting and keeping men interested, simple right!
Abigail Hayes had thrown him a ball. And Joe Fuller always had liked a game of one-on-one.
Stealing his Heart is one of those books you pick up, read through and put down feeling thoroughly satisfied. It follows the easy-going romance recipe to a letter, and offers up an indulgent and tasty little morsel for the discerning reader to devour.
”Just let it go. Indulge. Enjoy. You’re safe with me.”

Fairly typical plot with a heroine who is sexually insecure and thinks she needs lesson. I really don't like it when books put the onus on sexual fulfillment on the heroine, sex is a two-way street people. H/h think they will keep it casual but does that ever work in romance. Not too bad.
When you pick up an Entangled/Brazen book, you have a serious idea of what is to come... an engaging set up of someone who is in need of some serious sexual experience... either the man needs to open up his head and heart and be real...or the woman needs to overcome something... but there is always going to be hot sexual moments coupled with the realization that each of them have maybe stepped where they hadn't before... into the love zone.
Taming His Tutor by Natalie Andersen uses the concept of a woman who recently has been trampled on mentally by her ex. He has instilled in her head she was pathetic in bed. She has an easy time believing it because she was always hiding from boys from the beginning when she first developed her beautiful womanly figure. Blessed early on with a shape that cried out "I am Woman" in high school, this shy brainiac would use a huge scarf/muffler year round to hide her assets.
What she didn't hide was her intelligence; she blossomed from math star to computer/programmer whiz. We find her recovering emotionally with the help of her co worker at the magazine they work at; Abbi is working on an app which will help women be more confident with the dating scene... it is for work... but it is really for her, too. She is determined to figure out why she is a dud in bed and plans to concur it just like any other equation she's had; she will do research and figure it out.
The answer to her research literary stops her in her tracks; she is saved from walking into traffic by Joe, a student she once tutored in high school. He was her teenage fantasy...here he was looking right at her and he is liking big time what he sees. He grabs the ear buds she was listening to hearing sexual instruction by an expert...and she "dies". Embarrassed, she get's away and he is interested in his first crush he ever had... as Abbi was the only one who ever cared about him as a person in his young life. He was a foster kid; bounced around from family to family finally landing in a place where he actually excelled. There was a real connection to her and Joe wants to figure out how to pursue this.
As you have figured out... their roles now reverse... it happens after meeting again and they having a few intense moments... Joe will tutor Abbi on pleasing a man... it will be 6 sessions. Fun and Games and no ties... all for the App... and Abbi.
I happened to connect with the story... so it worked as a hot little read for me. I could picture the doubt and fear Abbi had about herself... and also understood the issues Joe had with being open to hurt.
The "sessions" worked for me... they had the fun, stupid banter that can happen from trying too hard to the smokin' hot dirty talk, too... Both characters learned more about themselves then they ever thought they would. It was great to see Abbi being the stronger of the two when it came to understanding what she needed and who she wanted. She ended up being willing to put it all out there fearlessly and I am always all for that.
It was a fast Entangled/Brazen read and if you are a fan of something to spice up lunch break or after dinner evening... then this could be your way to go.

1 shy, sexually insecure math geek. 1 confident, sexy ladies' man. 1 app that needs work on. 6 sex lessons -- no feelings, no relationships. How will love fit in?
When Abbi and Joe literally bumped into each other on the street, they easily recognized each other. Abbi has been Joe's math tutor in high school and without them knowing, their "high school crush" to each other has been mutual. Now, after a decade, they see each other and well… the attraction is pretty much still there only this time, both of them are adults who know what they want and get what they want.
"Abbi hated performing poorly in any aspect of her life, but this? So private. So crushing."
Abbi is "self-tutoring" how to be a sexual vixen for the app that she's building. I say it hits two birds in one stone since she's also insecure about her sexual prowess after her ex tells him how boring she is in bed. When she bumped into Joe and Joe figured out what she needs, he more than happily offered his tutoring skills on that particular subject. It hits two birds in one stone for him too: he gets to act on his Abbi fantasy and he returns the favor to Abbi. Although I'm pretty sure it's more on the former than the latter.
"Back in high school I gave you six lessons. That's all I'll take from you."
The story goes from there -- Joe showing Abbi how sexy she is and helping her realize that nothing is wrong with her in bed. All of course for that app she's building.
I've always enjoyed Entangled books, whether they're novellas or full novels, it's a safe bet that there will be smiles and fanning myself moments when I read them. Taming His Tutor was a good lazy weekend afternoon read. It has that 90's - early 2000's romantic movie feel to it and I love those movies.
"You ever wear panties with me again, I'll take them off and make you come."
Sexy, sizzling and Jesus, Joe has a good mouth on him! Abbi and Joe's agreement was a recipe for disaster, sexual activities and no commitment or romantic feelings? One or both will eventually fall for the other and these two were trying so hard to not develop any feelings. I don't know but I actually enjoyed getting into their heads. It was funny, ridiculous, a little understandable and also really sweet. The turn that Natalie Anderson added in the story added depth into Taming His Tutor, Abbie and Joe's story didn't just revolve around their lessons but we also get to see their histories. I appreciated that. It made them seem more real and more relatable.
I didn't love it too much but I enjoyed this, my first Natalie Anderson read and if you're looking for something entertaining to spend the day with, Taming His Tutor can keep you company!
Stars: 3.5 to 4 Stars! Recommended to: Entangled fans. POV: Third person. Dual POV. Series: No. EXTRA COMMENT: There were words/phrases though that didn't quite fit and makes me think if I'm still reading the same book. I guess it didn't bother me that much or else I would've stopped but that's where the rest of my rating went and how "sudden" the conflict was resolved. I would've expected a bit more groveling from Joe and a fight with Abbi.
So yeah, this was a spicy little number that had me drooling over leading boy toy Joe Fuller! He and Abbi shared a brief past that, unbeknownst to either of them, was memorable for both. Yes, the geeky math tutor and the uber-popular jock she was teaching both felt that spark years ago but never acted on it, thanks to their very different levels of self-confidence and popularity. Abbi was your typical geek-turned-babe, only without the confidence thanks to a few asshole boyfriends who equated sex with her to an afternoon nap. Thankfully, Joe was more than happy to take on the job of teaching his former crush how to bring a man to his knees…or be on her knees for a man, whichever came first!
Joe was just plain sexy, I loved every moment being in his naughty mind and picturing what he wanted to do to teach Abbi how to bring out her inner vixen. And yeah, she was tallying up lessons and toiling away with ideas for how to make her Vixen App just right, but she was no missionary mistake. She figured out pretty quickly just how to make Joe beg for more, and as they were trying to keep things all business, he was the first to really pine for more. They were smexy and then some together, and he wasn’t so willing to send her on to test out her new tricks.
There were some funny moments along the way, between Abbi’s meandering thoughts and the awkward times when the freebie sex toy collection she’d accrued from the magazine was on display for Joe to check out! While I could have used a little more ‘meat’ to their love story, Abbi and Joe were cute together and I loved the sexy kitten that Joe was able to bring out of Abbi. This was a fun and sexy read, and I look forward to checking out more from Natalie Anderson in the future!
Quotes:
He looked it—fit enough to run back-to-back marathons, strong enough to scoop her up without breaking into a sweat. Agile enough to-- ~p. 6
Abbi’s throat closed. How could she say anything more when he looked at her like that? Right into her eyes, as if he could see through to the way her brain was frying in his presence? The guy knew his power. He relished it. ~p. 7
But not even and incoming asteroid storm could distract him from Abigail Hayes now. Now he knew she wasn’t just attainable. She was interested.~p. 14
Taming His Tutor was an enjoyable and passion-fuelled read. With characters who were acquainted in high-school, the tables are somewhat turned in adulthood and the study matter is far more interesting.
Retired basketball heartthrob Joe's skills in seduction were worthy of an A grade, but aside of the fact that the man can talk dirty, has a bit of a dominant streak and is rather imaginative, he was caring, loyal, funny and with his own insecurities. I loved Abbi's geeky nature, she was a girl after my own heart with her love of technology and Lego. Shy, sweet and lacking in confidence it was good to see we weren't talking virgin territory that often goes hand-in-hand with the female geek status. And together, their chemistry sizzled.
“You have a problem with my instruction? You giving your teacher some lip?” “So what if I am?” “I think you just earned yourself some time in detention.”
However, I have to confess the start took a little while to grab me and the ending seemed to lack the punch I was expecting; it felt like we were heading toward something bigger. Had these been paced as well as the heart of the book, it would've raised my rating as I can comfortably say that Abbi and Joe certainly raised the temperature in the room. 3.5 stars.
“You ever wear panties with me again, I’ll take them off and make you come so hard you scream the house down. In public. And everyone will know why.”

3.5 Best first base ever stars
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this, as I am a Natalie Anderson virgin in the literary sense.
Joe Fuller is an ex-NBA champ, having launched himself into a wealth of successful fitness centres since changing career. He is big, he is bold, and may I say it, beauteous!
Abbi Hayes is the IT authority at a women’s lifestyle magazine, and is in the process of developing an app that is going to assist her fellow womenfolk in releasing their inner vixen. Driven by a heartless comment from her long term boyfriend, as they broke up, she is determined to up her appeal.
Given this new purpose, she raises her dress sense, and in the name of research, commences her hunt for an unsuspecting target. But a chance meeting with Joe Fuller brings back all her high school crushing to the fore. She used to tutor him at maths, so Yes, they have history and yes, now the tables are going to be turned.
Joe’s suggestion to match the 6 lessons she had given him in high school, with assisting her in unleashing her inner vixen was the most obvious option, but seeing as though Joe’s feelings had been reciprocated, albeit suppressed, this was going to be a thoroughly enjoyable time for him.
Both their lack of securities and thin-skin made them endearing, exposed characters, and given Joe’s obvious qualities, made the story thoroughly enjoyable for me. Apart from a few diddly quotes, I immersed myself in the story. Would have welcomed more at the end though..isn’t that always the way!
After being told she lacks passion in the bedroom and dumped by her boyfriend, computer geek Abbi decides it's time for a change. With help from her friend and coworker, she transforms herself into a vixen in training and decides she's going to build an app to help women like herself. When she runs into the guy she had a crush on and used to tutor in high school, former basketball star (and current GORGEOUS trainer) Joe, he makes her an offer she can't refuse. Not even the geekiest girl on the planet would choose learning about seduction and sex from a book when she can learn from a man as hot as he is. Of course, we all know how these arrangements tend to work out in the end – someone gets feelings for the other, someone gets hurt and then the other person comes to their senses and admits their feelings. Predictable or not, I don't care. This plot line still makes for a fun read.
I liked Abbi quite a bit. She was a smart and interesting character, even if she was a little insecure at the beginning. She became far more confident as the book went on. Joe was a little hit or miss for me. There's no denying he was smoking hot and charismatic. But, he rubbed me the wrong way at times, too. I can deal with the conceited manwhore character type for awhile, but I need a little more character development than what I got from him. I guess I never fully bought into his transformation. But, I enjoyed him and Abbi together. I liked the second chance aspect of the story.
This is one of the steamier Brazen titles I've read. Hello, toys! Abbi and Joe had a ton of chemistry and their sexy scenes were seriously hot. The only thing that didn't really work for me was some of the dirty talk. Some of the phrases were odd and actually made me cringe a bit. Strange as some of it was, however, it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the scenes.
Taming the Tutor was my first Natalie Anderson book. It won't, however, be my last. Save for a couple questionable dirty talk phrase choices and a few too many sports metaphors, I enjoyed her writing style. I'll be checking our her backlist and coming titles for more sexy reads.

In the mood for a scorching erotic romance? If so, look no further than Taming His Tutor by Natalie Anderson. Be prepared to pant, gasp and lose yourself to the deliciousness of emotional eroticism.
While in high school, newbie Joe Fuller was behind in math, so Abbi Hayes, nerd and math genius extraordinaire, tutored him. Now years later they meet again and Joe returns the favor, with a slightly different lesson plan. Abbi is a curvy and attractive computer expert, in the process of developing an application for women that will provide tips on how to get a man's attention and keep him interested. Of course sex is a component of the app and this is where Abbi's skills are severely lacking. All the research in the world will not usurp real-time sexual experience, so playboy Joe offers to tutor Abbi in the fine art of seduction.
Joe's good looks, charm and athleticism have served him well, especially where the female population is concerned. His blossoming relationship with Abbi tests his bachelorhood belief system. In addition, he is now a successful businessman, on the verge of expanding his personal training facility into a chain.
Abbi and Joe are tremendously steamy in the bedroom, on the counter and against the wall. Joe's expert tutelage transforms Abbi into a confident sexual vixen. And although Abbi is the student, she ends up teaching Joe a few things about love, commitment and need. The lessons become blurred as their feelings and desires take over.
Wow, talk about a well-written festival of lust, complete with an emotional story that may cause a few tears. I immediately connected with Abbi and Joe and enjoyed their sexual adventure together. The secondary characters are unique in their own right and add a ton of background story to the present happenings. Ms. Anderson is a very talented writer and I look forward to becoming engrossed in her world once again with her next book.

Imagine how awful it would feel to be dumped by your boyfriend of one year due to a lackluster bedroom performance. Compound that by getting a similar reaction after a one night stand intended to redeem oneself. Well that is Abbi's life in a nutshell. Determined to never have complaints again, this curvy IT guru is going to create an app to help herself and women just like her. Her goal is to become a vixen.
When a chance encounter puts her back in the presence of the hot ex-NBA all star Joe Fuller, Abbi decides to let Joe help her with her research. Abby had once tutored Joe in high school and crushed on him big time. But Abbi, with her braces and a body she wasn't ready to embrace felt she was out of Joe's league. Little did she know he was intrigued by her then and he most definitely is intrigued to help her out now.
I enjoyed the story and found it to be a rather quick read. Both characters have their issues and insecurities when it comes to relationships. They also have amazing chemistry with each other and along the way the develop an intimacy that extends beyond the bedroom.
The best thing about this story was Joe. He is your typical hot alpha male with the body, the money, the moves. The most refreshing thing about Joe is that even though recognition of his feelings scared him he decided to embrace them. Joe took matters into his own hands, and puts himself out there. It is so refreshing to have an alpha male that doesn't hop into someone else's bed when he isn't sure how things will work out!!!
I highly recommend this book to those who love a steamy romance and are looking for that hot alpha male they can be proud of. It also has a transformation vibe as Abbi comes out of her ex-nerdy self and embraces her inner vixen.

3.5 stars. This was a sweet story with some hot moments, but also a lot of WTF moments. I'm kind of torn as to how to rate it, because while I did enjoy the story, there were a lot of weird similes and metaphors that made me roll my eyes. I realize that the hero, Joe, is a former basketball star but sports metaphors do get old after a while. Also, referring to the heroine's "big clit" is not hot dirty talk for me, sorry. My favorite WTF phrase, however, is when the heroine "bucked like a filly being ridden for the first time." I actually laughed out loud at that one. On the other hand, there were some sweet moments and some hot love scenes, and seeing Abbi struggle with her insecurity and Joe with his fear of emotional intimacy kept me engaged. A winner on the whole, but beware of WTFery ahead!
Abbi Hayes is the ultimate geek! She 's a computer guru, plays with lego and she's so plain Jane her last boyfriend called her boring and passive in bed. Ouch, right? It would be very ouch for any woman so you can bet your last dollar she's going to do something about it.
First step, is to tell everyone it's all in the name of research for a new app she is designing for her boss. Second step dress the part, not slutty but definitely no more nerdy , just show enough to get attention.
Thirdly and most importantly acquire a suitable target to test out her new found inner vixen abilities. It all sounds like the perfect plan , but sadly for Abbi it all goes wrong when she bumps into the fantasy of her high-school dreams, Joe screw all the girls senseless Fuller. She forgets all the the tips and tricks she researched through hours and hours of articles, get's hot and bothered in less than five minutes and then runs away, not very vixen like!
But Joe is having none of it, Abbi was his ultimate fantasy back in high-school but after her teaching him six math lessons she never looked his way again. This time he's wiser, older and more determined to ensure his dream girl ends up in his bed. Putting two and two together Joe soon discovers the real reason behind Abbi and all the sexy research, and he wants nothing more than to be her tutor. But what will he do when the student becomes the teacher and turns the tables on him, run away like he always does or run after the one person who knows the truth?
If you like your hero's ultra hot, your heroines learning something new about themselves and showing the hero a little something new in life , super hot spicy sex and deep underlining emotion, then this read from the super talented Natalie Anderson is the ultimate in romance reads.
This book was fun and a little bit quirky in the start I mean it's not everyday I find a heroine that builds Lego for fun, then it turned sexy and flirty and just as fast hit a super hot level of sexy, sexy , SEXY!
I loved every single minute of the anticipation between Abbi and Joe, the buildup to the explosive moments of pure raw sex in the most basic and naughtiest of forms there is no way anyone can say this read is boring or that the heroine for that matter is boring.
Joe slowly bit by bit lesson by lesson brings out the real Abbi, the true woman she has always been. The entire read was a roller-coaster of emotions, from hot and sweaty to jealously and anger to sweet sensual romance and super hot off the charts sex.
But if you're thinking this book is all about the sex and just a little bit of romance you could not be more wrong. The author took a two characters and sent them on a journey of self discovery and realization dawning in such a beautiful manner it brought me to tears, not the reaction one would usually expect from a erotic read, yet it happened, but it was no surprise as this author has such an amazing way with words that she manages to have this effect on me with everything she writes, be it YA , a Harlequin Presents or a Harlequin Kiss. She takes me on a deep, satisfying emotional journey each and every single time.
Through the character of Joe, and the idea he has in his head of always taking off and running from hurt the author showed that running never solves anything, it 's better to deal with a situation head on, yes you will most likely get hurt but that 's what life's pain if for, to make us stronger. And when the next time comes around you will be stronger and wiser to deal with it all.
Through the character of Abbi and her very new found ' I can be a vixen' move in life the author showed that sometimes we need to risk a little and learn something new in order to let the real us shine through.
I am taking away a message of life does suck and sometimes it sucks like crazy and all there is left to do is run and start anew or be daring and and take action. The trick of the whole ' my life sucks because I have been dealt a hard blow' is to know which road to take. Will running solve the heartache, will the pain go away? No, of course it won't it will always be there in the back of your mind and living in your dreams at night. But daring to try something new will teach you something about yourself you never knew, it sounds like a dumb idea, and not like something most people will want to try , but it's how you try it that 's the key if you only try it halfway and then give up instead of seeing it all the way through then you'll never get the message.
I highly recommend this read for all fans of erotic romance reads with loads of spice and sexiness and a whole string of fantasies coming to life. An undoubtedly crazy , very sexy , passionate, explosive hot romance has never been this good read!
5/5 star review " It's all about sex until the sex starts to run much deeper than just a good time"
Good God there are so many repressed teenage sexual fantasies coming true all over this book, how can you not love it? Abbi has always been a bit of a nerd, ever since her high school days as the social outcast with her nose constantly stuck in a book. She grows up to become something of a computer guru, and sets out to design an App that will help turn any woman into a sexy vixen. There’s just one problem: she’s no vixen. Good thing she bumps into an old acquaintance from high school who is more than willing to teach her a thing or two when it comes to enticing a man. Joe can’t believe his good fortune when he runs into his formerly shy math tutor, and realizes that she needs some tutoring of her own in the bedroom. He proposes that they engage in six tutoring lessons where he’ll teach Abbi all she’ll need to know before launching her Vixen App. The question is, will six lessons be enough for either of them?
The answer to this question is: hell no! They’ve both wanted each other since high school!! Now that they finally have the opportunity to indulge in what they’ve dreamed of doing since their hormones first emerged, it’s gonna take them a while to work through every sexual position they can think of. Abbi always had a crush on Joe, but just assumed that he was way out of her league. After all, why would the hot shot of the high school fall for his geeky math tutor who also likes to play with Legos in her spare time? On the other hand, Joe always saw the hidden beauty behind Abbi, and never thought she’d waste her time on a foster-kid like him. Aww, if only the two had expressed their mutual attraction for each other sooner, well…we probably wouldn’t have this book. Ok Joe and Abbi, good thinking in keeping your sexual fantasies to yourselves for so many years, it definitely made for a more interesting read.
I really enjoyed this storyline. One of my favorite aspects was that both characters had their own issues to work through, not just Abbi. In reading the summary of this book, it sort of seemed like the majority of the novel would be focused on Joe having to push Abbi outside of her geeky comfort zone into voicing what she really wanted from a lover in the bedroom. In part, that was true. However, another large part of the story dealt with Joe and his own insecurities. Sure, he was one of the most popular students in high school, grew up to become a professional basketball player, and could probably have any girl he wanted with simply the crook of his finger. But he grew up in foster care. His mother abandoned him, his sister refused to confide in him, and his foster family barely tolerated his presence. Why would someone as wonderful and accomplished as Abbi want to stick around with him long-term? This is why he limits their tutoring sessions to six: he avoids commitment before someone else can leave him. Another aspect of this book that I appreciated was how Joe always thought Abbi was beautiful. It wasn’t like they serendipitously ran into each other one day and he was like, “Oh, you’re hot. Let’s get it on!” Joe knew back then that Abbi was special, and he can’t wait to see the sexy curves that she’s been hiding under that over-sized scarf she always used to wear. The fact that he then uses that scarf in one of their “lessons” to tie her up is just one of the many fantasies he finally gets to indulge in.
I must say that the description of the book was a bit misleading. When they talk about perfecting her Vixen App, I thought it meant that Joe would be teaching her some new positions, a la kama sutra, and maybe have some tips and advice for how you can finally get the man you’ve always wanted. Yeah, not so much. Basically, Joe gets so excited when they meet for each lesson that they just go at it like rabbits. There’s no real tutoring going on. Sure they have scheduled lesson times (kind of), and they are sexy as hell, but Joe really isn’t a very good tutor. You can tell he did no preparation or planning ahead of time. He just sort of shows up and decides in the moment what they’ll focus on that day.
As you can tell, the fact that my biggest complaint with this novel was that Joe’s lesson plans weren’t organized enough means that it was a pretty enjoyable book overall. It sort of makes you think back to your own high school crush, and wonder what you’d do if you ran into them again.
Abbi Hayes has always been an intelligent woman, whizzing through high school math classes and acing her college IT courses. Now she's a computer guru and is in the process of developing an app for her boss that will help women flirt with men, please themselves and their partners in bed, and find Mr. Right. There's just one problem - Abbi is shy and her last boyfriend broke up with her because she was too passive and boring in bed. Talk about a confidence deflator! Abbi decides to put her own app to the test and develop some inner vixen skills of her own. She find exactly the right guy to test it on when she bumps into an old high school classmate she once tutored, Joe Fuller. Soon, Joe becomes the tutor and agrees to give Abbi six lessons in the art of sexual pleasure and seduction. All in the name of research, of course. But what happens when the lines between app-related research lesson and genuine relationship become blurred?
Abbi is a sweet, plain Jane kind of girl who was very easy to like and relate to. She's introverted, geeky, and generally not afraid to admit it (although she does attempt to hide her Legos at one point, but that is quickly thwarted by an equally eager Joe). She excels at her job, but is at a loss when it comes to dating and flirtatious interactions, which of course makes developing the sex app for her boss that much more difficult.
Joe is your typical high school jock - athletic, admired, and loved by everyone who meets him. Which makes the backstory about his family that much more heartbreaking. An astute businessman, he's made a living first in the NBA and then with his own line of fitness centers and gyms. His utter devotion and pursuit of Abbi is charming and melts your heart. Gone is the clueless high schooler, replaced with a man confident in who he is and what he wants.
The sex is sensual and very hot, the chemistry between Abbi and Joe sizzles and at times made me laugh out loud with some of their antics. This book runs through the gamut of emotions - desire, jealousy, anger, joy. The sexual writing is well done and doesn't cross the line into cheesy or overdone. Instead, Ms. Anderson does an excellent job of drawing out sensation, emotion, and physical lust all with a few well-placed words. Sometimes sweet and sensual, sometimes rough and wild - fitting for Joe and Abbi's personalities and a delightful variety for the reader too. And for an erotica read, this book isn't just about the sex either, which I definitely appreciate. I like plot with my erotica and Taming His Tutor delivered!
I highly recommend checking out Taming His Tutor if you like steamy erotica reads with a decent plot, fun and quirky characters, and well written prose that will make you yearn for a cold shower!
I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Need sex lessons? The main character in TAMING HIS TUTOR is making an app for that. Join nerdy and introverted Abbi as she learns the art of sex from her big, bad, high school crush.
Computer guru Abigail Hayes is bad in bed. It really sucks that her last two partners made sure she knew that fact. Abbi decides to design an app to help the sex lives of women like her. When she runs into Joe Burns, a former classmate she used to tutor, she's shocked by her visceral reaction to the man she hasn't seen in ten years.
Joe definitely wanted Abbi back in the day, but she didn't give him more attention other than tutoring sessions in high school. Now she's a certified knockout, and ten seconds in her orbit and he's a goner. When Joe figures out that Abbi's ex did a number on her confidence, he steps in and all but demands to "tutor" her in seduction and sex...all in the name of science, of course.
Abbi can't believe Joe actually wants her! But for once in her life, she's going to go after what she wants, and she really REALLY wants sex with Joe. Joe's lessons don't disappoint, and soon Abbi is struck dead, dumb and blind by the sheer eroticism of him. As the two of them grow closer, they both know they're in trouble. Joe thinks Abbi is better off without him, that he's not the relationship kind, but something about her has him thinking of picket fences and 2.5 kids, not just break the bed sex. Even though Abbi has tried hard to keep her emotions out of the equation, it's just too late. She's fallen hard for the former NBA star, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
I'm pretty sure that I would jump at the chance for a tall and sexy NBA alum to teach me the art of seduction. I may be a bit more wary of his motives, but Joe and Abbi being former high school acquaintances I suppose I can accept that immediate and steamy chemistry they seemed to have. Ms. Anderson jumped right into the sexy tutoring in TAMING HIS TUTOR, and every page in this book was a lesson in why erotic romance shouldn't be read in public. WOOWEE it's hot! But, this book is also a lesson in how sports puns can be very overused. Yikes.
Even though the editing snafus were few, the big one that caught my eye was that Joe's last name switched from Burns to Fuller in the book synopsis and throughout the story. Even so, it didn't totally detract from my enjoyment of the story.
Though the story about a character doing a story (or in this case, an app) about sex and needing to be schooled in the very thing they're to be talking about certainly isn't new, it was still sexy, fun, funny and super SUPER hot. This was one fabulously steamy read to get you through the upcoming winter weather with a smile.
Geek. Nerd. These are words Abbi Hayes has known her whole life and words that she’s okay being labeled as. She even calls herself them from time to time. It’s who she is. But what she doesn’t like is being called boring, and a non-participant. Especially when it comes to the bedroom. Dumped by her boyfriend, she sets out to revamp her sex-life, to become a vixen. And given that she’s developing an app for the magazine she’s the IT manager for, she’s searching out the best advice for herself, and women just like her.
Enter Joe Fuller. Joe was tutored by Abbi in high school and developed a crush on her because of his time spent with her. She was the first person to really see him as someone other than a foster kid, a jock, a nobody. But when he tried to get her attention after their tutoring sessions ended, she didn’t even notice him anymore. So he moved on, graduating and becoming a star NBA player, never settling down and going after what he wanted, and who he wanted.
When a chance encounter brings the two together again, she finds the perfect source on sex, and he finally gets his chance at high school fantasy.
Taming His Tutor is definitely one of the more steamier Brazens I’ve read. From the way Joe dominated Abbi to the toys (loved this, more books should make use of toys), the heat was scorching. But no matter how hot the sex was, I found myself having a hard time connecting to the characters.
I did see a little bit of myself in Abbi, but her almost constant whining kept me from actually liking her. I understood that her confidence was low, and it’s a major plot of the story, but I didn’t feel like it needed to be mentioned as much as it was, which was a lot. Like, a. lot.
And then there’s Joe. I really have a hard time pinning down my thoughts about him. On one hand, it’s pretty cool he would help Abbi, even if it was mostly selfish, but on the other hand, why would a self-proclaimed womanizer keep going back to a woman who he felt like he was developing feelings for? He didn’t make much sense. By the end of the book he was groveling at Abbi’s feet, wanting to be something more than he’s been, for her. Not for him, but for her. Now, in my book, you should want to change for yourself, and no one else, because you usually end up resenting that person if things don’t work out.
Taming His Tutor took place in a span of less than two weeks. In that time Abbis confident miraculously skyrocketed and Joe started to become a totally different person than his characterization made him out to be. That’s just not realistic to me. Sure, it’s a romance novel and it’s meant to be a fantasy. I get that, I really do. But I still like some realism in my romance. This just felt like a glorified insta-love.
I definitely think a lot of people will like this story. It is second chances and amazing sex and friendship. But with the execution it just wasn’t for me.

This is the first Natalie Anderson book I've read, and I just have to say that there were instances I could not relate to her writing style, but Taming His Tutor has it's fun, flirty and sexy side.
Taming His Tutor features Abbi Hayes and Joe Fuller, who used to be acquaintances back in high school, and they get reunited after ten years from being tutor mates to *wiggle wiggle* mates. (LOLZ)
Abbi Hayes, a little nerdy on the side, is learning to get out of her shell and trying to give her self confidence a boost. Not only had she been a shy wallflower back in high school, she'd been accused by her ex-lovers of being terrible in bed. She needs all the help she can get, from her awesome, overly confident friend and a self help audio book... about letting out the inner vixen and learning to pleasure a man's body.
"The ‘Vixen’ is irresistible to men, full of allure, culture, mystery, she’s utterly magnetic. With some practice you can be –"
Joe Fuller, he'd been a jock tutored by Abbi back in high school, and following a successful basketball career, an accident happened pulling him out of the basketball zone, and instead, he's got himself a business that he enjoys. Imagine his surprise when he manages to save doe eyed Abbi from getting run down in the middle of the street, just because she had been distracted listening to a self help sex audio book.
Things get hot and heavy when Joe offers to "tutor" Abbi in releasing her inner vixen because self help books just won't do. Demonstration is better than simple information. In exchange for the six lessons she'd given him back in high school, he offers her six lessons in attracting men and making them stay.
Abbi and Joe were just adorable, there was lots of chemistry and everything was just sizzling hot between them. I love it. From the characters to the story plot, although the only thing that didn't get me was Ms. Anderson's writing style. There were instances where I'd read a couple of sentences in the steamy parts that just didn't do it well for me, which is why I couldn't give it a four.
Maybe it’s time to teach his former teen fantasy a few tricks of his own…
Review:
Yeah! Geeky Girls!
This is a great story about a geeky girl, who gets her inner vixen on a gets the hunky ex-basketball player. Abbi was your typical nerdy girl in school, who was smart, shy and lusted after the high school basketball star. 8 years later she is still a nerdy girl, but she is trying to turn over a new leaf and let loose her inner vixen and launch her new app to help others. Who better to help her on her road to temptress, but her high school crush Joe. Joe struck by Abbi and how different she seems talks her into letting him unleash that inner vixen. What starts out as six lessons soon blooms into something more even though Joe fights it at every turn.
I liked that Abbi was trying to take charge of her sexuality, even after she was kind of beaten down emotionally by an ex. Even though Abbi has been hurt before and still has some image issues, I like how she blossoms as the story goes along, even when she knows she is going to get hurt. Joe was great, who doesn't love a sexy, ex-NBA star? But there is more to him than meets the eye and he has some trust/abandonment issues that make him a more three dimensional character. And I have to say the sexy scenes between Abbi and Joe are hot and well-written.
Great story with fun characters, engaging story and some serious sexiness! 4Stars
When a book starts with a tip on how to be a “Vixen”, you know you are in for a good read and this one didn’t let me down. This is a new to me author and I went into this book not knowing what to expect and what I found was a hot, funny and at times emotional read.
Abbi and Joe were fun from the moment they re-meet. Yes meet again as she was once his tutor in high school and she never expected him to recognise her after all this time. But this meeting causes the sparks to fly, seriously fly.
After a rather steamy encounter at a baseball game leads to a sleepless night for both of them, they come to a deal where Joe will “help” her find her sexy and at the same time help Abbi with hints and tips she could add to the app she’s working of for her job. No strings and only six lessons. No problems right?
One of the things I liked about this book was how quickly Joe realised that underneath the smoking hot clothes was a smart, playful and super sexy woman and he wasn’t afraid to show her that. Plus his Neanderthal tendencies had me laughing more than once.
“What was with all the “must dominate “urges. He was Mr. Casual, not Mr Must-Capture and-Hold-Close-At-All-Costs.” And “Damn it Abbi, you make me want to…..claim. To own.”
But when things start to get more involved than either of them planned it becomes obvious that the six lessons may not be enough for either of them. Can they find happiness and not heartache before their time is up?
Add in a best friend I want in Nadia, sexy tips at the start to each chapter, a comical moment when Joe finds the sex toys spread across Abbi’s desk, more fun times with said toys and you get a book that is a fun read and I will be looking for more from this author for sure.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
Taming the Tutor by Natalie Anderson: A Review There’s nothing like a good children’s movie to engross your kids and sub-freezing weather to provide the perfect quiet to submerge yourself into a steamy romance novella. Although the premise of Taming the Tutor is as old as time, it is the sexy twist to Pygmalion that’ll keep you flipping through the pages.
Computer geek and magazine IT specialist, Abbi is trying to revamp her sex life since a former lover dumped her for being boring in the sack. Armed with sex toys, how to books, a sex advice columnist as a friend, and the guise of creating a Vixen App for her magazine’s female readers, Abbi goes headlong into tightening up her sex game (no pun intended). She doesn’t want to be just not boring, but absolutely unforgettable. Except she has one problem: she is too inexperienced to find a guy to test out her new knowledge.
In comes the handsome, love ‘em and leave ‘em, retired NBA player Joe Fuller. It’s lust at first sight all over again for Joe and Abbi, because she was his high school peer tutor and he’s been fantasizing about her ever since.
The story does take you on the expected erotic ride but it is an entertaining and enjoyable ride. Joe and Abbi engage in all sorts of sexy time. One a scale of 1 to 10, it is a solid six. It won’t singe your eyelashes, but it will reddened your cheeks. My only caveat, MILD SPOILER ALERT, there could have been a little more romance building between the two to give the ending the emotional punch it needed.
In short, Taming the Tutor is a like a steaming cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows on a cold day—it will satisfy you, warm you up but make you wish you had a bigger mug.
Taming his Tutor is a beautiful and romantic book with many sexy scenes!! It shows the value of friendship, self-esteem and self-confidence, family, love and devotion.
Abbi the girl next door, who is loved by everyone. She is a good person, a good friend, but she didn’t have the best of luck regarding men. I think all of us have been through that! I really liked Abbi, because she seems so real. We can sympathize with her and we can see ourselves in her.I loved that about her! Many women have confidence issues, beautiful or not, smart or not.
Joe has suffered through the worst pain a child may face. Foster care. Abandonment. Things that lead to trust and confidence issues. Unlike Abbi, Joe hides his fears with meaningless sex and fun -as he calls it- and doesn’t realize what he is missing. Until our girl puts it right in front of him and leaves. You don’t know what you have until you lose it, right? We should say he doesn’t know what he WANTS, because he sees Abbi for who she is; a strong, smart, funny, beautiful woman who loves him for him.
Another fact that I loved about this book is that our characters do not change. They simply realize who they really are through each other. Joe realizes that being with Abbi is what he wants, but doesn’t really change himself. Our sweet Joe was always there. And Abbi realizes that with the right man, everything is possible!
The writing is beautiful, with elegant turns and twists and without any loopholes. Natalie Anderson has done a very good job with this book!!
It’s a sweet and sexy story about 2 characters that you will like, enjoy and connect with!!
There are times in life that a book is exactly what you need whether it allows you to go beyond your surrounds to escape or allows you to pack your bags and travel to distant lands that you haven't had the opportunity or ability to visit. This has been one of those times for me. This book was exactly what the doctor ordered including an opportunity to see myself reflected in the eyes of a sassy computer geek determined to make her latest project all it could be even if that meant going beyond her own boundaries with a high school crush. Abbi is all of that and more and I felt a true sense of kinship to her ability to be driven in her job and have no clue when it came to guys or social situations.
And we all know a guy just like Joe Fuller, the quarterback of the high school team or maybe the coolest guy in school who smiled at you once. But Joe is such a thoughtful and intent guy who sees beyond the awkwardness to the amazing woman that Abbi truly is and helps her blossom beyond even her wildest imaginings.
These two together was just delicious and helped make a difficult couple of weeks better. I will be keeping my eyes wide open for the next release by Ms. Anderson because this was truly a well crafted story and I look forward to being swept away again soon.
Final Thoughts: This book is worth every penny if you are looking for a well crafted story, geeky heroine that is not afraid to strut her stuff and a hero who wants to see her by his side as she does it.
Entangled Publishing provided me with a copy of Taming His Tutor but nothing else was exchanged for my honest review.
This book almost has a second chance feel to it. They both had crushes on each other in high school but her shyness and his certainty that she had no interest held them both back. Now years later, he's paying her back those six math tutoring lessons with six sex lesson.
And yes, there is a ton of sexy in this book. Talking about sex, thinking about sex and anticipating sex are in most scenes. They clearly have some smokin' hot chemistry. Chemistry that makes sex so much better. Something Abbi's ex may consider before he calls another girl boring in bed. Yeah, I didn't like him and he wasn't even in a single scene. Scott. Even his name annoyed me.
And I like it when a character gets my emotions involved because then I know that I've made a connection to the characters. But my annoyance at Scott was the only connection I made. I just didn't like these characters. Abbi is shy and geeky - two things I actually relate to but I just felt meh about her. Joe grew-up in faster care so he never felt loved. He needs to overcome that to really be in a relationship. I guess he was too predictable for me. His relationship with his sister, his reaction to his growing feelings for Abbi - all leading to him figuring that out about himself. Again, I just felt meh. Yeah, I can see it. It felt real. I just didn't care.
If you're into a book for the hot scenes, then this one is the one for you to read. For me, I needed to care about the characters. It was just an okay book for me.
I loved this book so much! I have many favourite books by Natalie Anderson and this is certainly one of them. Scorchingly hot, yet still managing to keep hold of the humour I have come to expect from the author, I fell in love with the characters and smiled throughout.
Abbi is filled with self-doubt and sets out to combat her bedroom problems with the invention of a sexy App, even if it pushes her way out of her comfort zone. This made her very real for me and very much in need of her chance encounter with the uberlicious Joe Fuller.
Joe is surprised by former geek Abbi's transformation, though he always had a thing for her during their one-to-one math sessions. A temptress she might be, but there's something about her sexual claims that make Joe want to test her limits. Scratching beneath the surface Joe discovers the reason for her new invention and is more than willing to prove her ex wrong and her latest gadget right.
A trade-off has them both discovering a lot more about each other. Things that are becoming a little addictive and all too real. Have they awoken things they can't control?
This is the hottest book I have read from Natalie Anderson and yes there were some 'products' I was tempted to google to clarify their existence. But they sure worked for Abbi as this book worked for me. Hugely funny with a whole lot of satisfaction!
*I was given an ARC by the publisher for an honest review
As head if IT for the women's magazine Gloss, it is very safe to say that Abbi Hayes knows her way around a hard drive. What becomes more than apparent to our gigabyte guru, when trying to build an app for the lifestyle savvy reader. Is that she has a lot to learn when it comes to tech support of a sexual sort. Enter Joe Fuller, former NBA basketball star and high school crush. According to Joe, the tutoring help that Abbi gave him in high school deserves to be paid back with six sexy lessons.
Abbi and Joe's story is very light-hearted and fun, but gets off to a rather awkward start due to the fact that: 1. Abbi reads just a little too old, driven, and smart to play the ingenue. 2. Joe seems to be trying so hard to get Abbi to like him that he gets in his own way.
It is not until we dispense with all the unnecessary foreplay that is the first quarter of the read, that the magic happens. This is when Joe and Abbi calm down and fire up. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and when you couple that with the easy banter and fun scenarios in which the two find themselves; the read is fabulous.
Of course, there is some well placed and well played drama at story's end. Just enough to keep the heart a flutter. If you are in the mood for a fun and flirty passion party, than this read will definitely make the grade.
Taming His Tutor is a fast paced amusing love story about a high school crush that never went away. They didn't realize it until they ran into each other again though.
Abbi knew she didn't have what it took in high school to get Joe's interest. Joe wanted Abbi but she never seemed interested. She was too shy and he took the easy route and the easy girls, leaving Abbi behind. Both grown and successful, Joe saves Abbi from being run over by a car. Not that she even noticed! Abbi was too interested in learning to become a vixen. It worked, until she got too tongue tied to continue. Joe was once again fascinated with the contradictions that Abbi presented.
It was hilarious watching Abbi unknowingly become the woman she wanted to be and then remember she wasn't that person. Joe did everything he could to get Abbi to respond to him. He couldn't help it. He had to touch her. Joe was a great guy, any woman would want him in their lives. Abbi always had. The character interactions were wonderful and the story line well written and engaging.
Taming His Tutor brought Abbi and Joe back together. A wonderful, humorous and sensual read, Taming His Tutor was definitely worth the time to read. Before I knew it, it was over!
I have been a fan of Natalie Anderson’s books for a long time. While Taming His Tutor is a very different style of book from her Be For Me series, it is a breath of fresh air in the romance genre. To be honest, at first I was very unhappy with how easily Abbi believed that she was the cause of so many issues in her previous relationships and it was difficult to read about a main character who was so down on herself. However, as the book progressed, I was proud of her character’s growth as an individual and the support she received from Joe through their budding relationship. As for Joe, he was a sweet and interesting love interest for Abbi. It was a bit heart-wrenching to learn of his past and watch his recognize his flaws. Overall, this was a very sweet story with a great HEA ending for two characters who learned from their mistakes and grew to love each other and themselves. Well done Natalie! Congratulations on another great novel! I cannot wait for Bound For Me!
