Now THIS is what I'm talkin about people!! A kickass heroine who swings a bat, a cutie boy at her side, great suspense and action as they deal with the zombie fallout and pick up a few other interesting characters along the way. This was a really easy read because I just couldn't put it down.

Realistic characters dealing realistically with a zombie apocalypse and a little sprinkle of romance as Rachel and Cage figure things out. After the last book I read I really appreciated reading about a tough chica who concentrated on what needed to be done and didn't spend the entire novel plagued by stupid ass insecurities that no one gives a shit about. Especially during a time of the undead!

Anyway, pick this up. You won't be sorry if you're looking for a good action filled zombie romp with simple enough characters you can appreciate spending time with. It's surprising actually how quickly you're able to sink into the story. I'm onto the 2nd book already and can't wait for the 3rd!

Book #31 Read in 2014
Love and the Zombie Apocalypse by Chelsea Bellingeri

I borrowed this book from the Kindle Lending Library and cannot wait to borrow book #2 next month. Zombie are suddenly everywhere and if one is bit or scratched by them, death and then a return as a zombie is the outcome. Rachel is trying to get to her younger sister's summer science camp. Along the way she meets several people who turn out to be willing to help her--football star Cage, firefighter Adam and his girlfriend Selena, and oddball Nicky. This book was non-stop action and I read it in one sitting. Besides the zombie action, there was romance and humor. I enjoyed it a lot.

5 stars!!!
Wow what a book. I loved it. I'll review soon :)

#edited#

To be honest, there was nothing new in this book. The formula is same:
・the main characters is introduced
・an unknown infection/virus comes
・zombies emerge
・the characters need to survive

See? Same. But why I give 5 stars to this book? Okay…let me explain…

・The writing was excellent, captivating and moving. The writer know how to keep you hooked and entertain well.
You will find it because I do. So this guy, called as Nicky. Nicky is the comedy relief in this book. He is not the main character, but he make me laugh so hard!

・The book was an absolute page turner, from the amazing characters, to the horror, to the romance. I enjoyed every minute and had a hard time putting it down. Ah also, it had a good plot and there was a lot of funny moments (Nicky again).

It was a quick read but worth your time. Great reading! Can't wait to read the second book to find out what happens next. *Spoiler* the ending is cliffhanger!!

Yes!!! Finally a great zombie book!

It's been too long. I've missed you, you decomposing insatiable flesh eating moaner.

Living dead Tv shows and movies just aren't cutting it anymore.
So I really needed a zombie fix. I came across this book with its very shiny, very sharp hook
of a synopsis and I just had to bite.

Amazeballs !!!
(Pat on the back) Good choice Joy, good choice.

Book cover gruesomely awesome.
Author has a great writing style.
Very likable characters even the ones your suppose to hate.
Fast pace, suspenseful, and the best part?.......zombies everywhere!
I couldn't put this book down.

When the outbreak starts Rachel sets out on a mission to rescue her little sister Morgan who is away at science camp. Along the way she teams up with a jock, goofball, firefighter, stripper and a snob all trying to survive. Did I mention zombies? No? Well they're everywhere. So of course they are blocking the way to Morgan.

I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers. So no surprise there when this one leaves me hanging by my sweaty fingertips and no upper body strength! And my only savior that is closure is weeks away! I'll never survive!
Am I to die of suspence in a zombie apocalypse? Lame!

Great read! So if you love zombies, the is the series to read.

Well.... This book did not disappoint! This was such a great thought out story. A group of people in Flint Mi find themselves pulled together during the Apocalypse, trying to find their loved ones. It has so much going on through out the story, I could NOT put it down. If you enjoy Zombies, The Walking Dead, then this is the Book for you! I LOVE how Bellingeri writes, you get pulled into her stories and just become so absorbed, that you are a part of the story. OMG... the way she writes, twists and turns, you never know what to expect! She is my favorite author. I cannot wait for the next book in this Trilogy.

I Highly recommend this book.. It is such a good story. If you like Zombies at all, you need to get this! It is such a good story, I love how the author tied in all the characters, their relationships are great. I loved all of the characters, their struggle in this Apocalypse is just so riveting, so many emotions are present. I laughed out loud, cried, was mad, just about every emotion you can think of. Bellingeri invites you into this world she has made, and you really feel like you are going through all their trials with them. Such a ending, I cannot wait for the next book in this trilogy. I will be rereading this many time.

Just so you know this will be on sale from February 24-28 for.99 which is an awesome deal. Ok

Overall this had some great characters and the storyline is basic. There is drama but I thought the story was to short and her trilogy could have been a book length. I don't understand why the book is split but hey it is what it is.

I needed more from the storyline like a psychotic ex, the zombies have super human capabilities, or anything. I enjoyed the characters they were unique and they had depth which is different for this genre. The emotional response was compelling for what they were going through.

Another great author

I have to say in am quite the zombie fanatic. If you have a like for anything zombie, then use recommend this author and book. I liked how the author got right into the zombie outbreak instead of taking four or five chapters just to explain the characters and setting. My only complaint is that the next two books in the series are expensive and has two hundred or less pages.

This was an easy and fast read. The book is entertaining and fun (zombie fun). Yes, it has romance but it doesn't get cheesy or ridiculous .

The writing is good and fluid. You will not be bored. One thing though, the cliffhanger at the end .......yep, one of those.

I will read the next one.......obviously . ;)

I received this book from the Goodreads Giveaways Program.

This is a good, clean book that will appeal to teens and young adults interested in zombies with light romance on the side. It is a very easy, fast, and fun book to read. I would recommend this book to those interested in zombies, light romance, and to those who like a little light suspense/adventurous thrills.

A group of strangers banding together to survive the zombie apocalypse - nothing new here plotwise, really, but for anyone who likes this kind of story, this first book in Bellingeri's Zombie Apocalypse trilogy offers a fun, quick read with great characters, humour and a touch of romance.

Fantastic!

I was hooked from the first page on! I adore Rachel and fell in absolute like with Cage. Everyone this little group gathers up turns out to be amazing!

Love and the Zombie Apocalypse is a fast paced, suspenseful, page turner. I couldn't put it down! I didn't want to put it down! There's so much action you wouldn't think there'd be time for character development or world building but this book is so well balanced!!

I'm already well into book two and I'm still thrilled! I highly suggest this for anyone looking for a great zombie Apocalypse read!

Although much of this zombie story is pretty typical YA zombie stuff. There is a brave, tough final girt, Rachel, there is a hunky but almost too good to be true instalove protagonist love interest for Rachel. In spite of that, I did enjoy this story. Rachel and her gang are trying to get her sister, who was sent to a science camp.

This first book is available in Kindle Unlimited. Unfortunately, the next two books are not and I'm not sure if I want to pay to finish the series when there are so many books of equal or better quality available on Kindle Unlimited already.

This book wasn't editied very good and it kept throwing me out of the story. Also, the scenes were super jerky, like it moced so fast and I was left trying to follow. AND, the author kept backtracking on explaning things. So I would read it then think, wait when did that happen, then the author would explain it after the fact and I just lost interest after that.
