Friends with benefits just got hotter.

Former homicide detective Camden Wilde has been in love with his ex-partner, Eva Cardoso, for longer than he cares to admit. Not that it matters. She’s shoved him into the friend zone, and after living through the hell of his parents’ violent deaths, Cam’s unable to give her the idyllic life she secretly desires.

Eva’s never met a person who hasn’t let her down. Cam may be sex personified, but he’s the only man she can trust, and there’s no way she’ll risk their friendship on the off-chance they could be more. Especially not after the one scintillating night she’s trying—and failing—to forget.

When a murder-for-hire contract on his head lands Eva on his doorstep, Cam knows it’s time to put up or shut up. He’s done biding his time, and he’ll be damned if he lets the delectable detective ignore what’s between them, no matter the cost.

Camden Wilde has loved his former partner, Homicide Detective Eva Cardoso, for five years but has been content to be her "best friend." Now that he's working with his brothers as an investigator, it might be time to make his move. But, she's got idealized visions of marriage and he's lived it and lost.

I really, really liked Cam...everything about him except for his reluctance to tell Eva the truth. While he had good reason to be fearful, he's a tough guy and could handle it. I liked Eva, too, but her indecision about him and her former beau drove me nuts. When they were together, they WORKED! When they didn't, it was awful.

I liked the whiff of suspense in the story, even though it was fairly obvious to me as to who was behind the threat. It didn't matter as the element just ramped up the tension.

The Wilde brothers are all very interesting men and Cam seems to be the one who's got the most going for him. He and Eva make a pretty formidable couple and they just sizzled. I'm enjoying this series and it's ideal for those who prefer the romance aspect to tip the scales higher than the suspense.

I loved Wilde for Her! Long-time friends who’ve secretly been longing for each other? Check. Uncontrollable lust and mega-HOT scenes?!! Double check. A little romantic angst, and a mystery infused with danger? Now we’re talking about everything I love in a romantic suspense novel! You ticked all the boxes, Tonya!

Camden Wilde quit the D.C. force to work for his brother’s security business Wilde Security, but that hasn’t cut his ties with his best friend and former partner, Eva Cardoso. Trouble is he’s longed for Eva their whole time together, but never wanted to risk ruining their friendship. Add to that, she was seriously dating a college mate for the last two years, so it was out of the question. Things are about to change in a big way when Cam and Eva get drunk on his brother’s destination wedding trip and lines are crossed!

She threw her head back against the door and groaned his name. His name. A roar of triumph filled his head. Maybe even rumbled from his throat. He didn’t give a damn. Eva was calling his name. Finally.

Before the night was over, he planned to know every square inch of Eva Cardoso’s body by heart.

Eva is freaked out about her night with Cam. She doesn’t do one-night stands, but she knows that Cam isn’t interested in anything more, he’s said that over and over through the years. Plus, he’s her best friend, and she doesn’t want to lose him if things don’t work out. But mind and body do not always agree and Eva’s can’t fight what she’s secretly longed for, for ages.

I love friendships that evolve into passionate romance! Attraction that starts from a deep connection and closeness are often fiery HOT and Cam and Eva’s was combustible! I wanted to smack both Eva and Cam upside the head a few times for denying their true feelings! Fortunately, it didn’t have to come to that because these two come to their senses leaving me blissed-out-happy!

Being that this is a Wilde Security novel you know a bit of mystery and danger is involved. Cam has found out there’s a price on his head and he needs to track down the killer. Of course the Wilde Brothers are on high alert and full on protective mode when they hear the news. I did have my suspicions early on but it was exciting to see it all unfold!

I fell in love with these Wilde men a little more after finishing this installment! Hot, dangerous, overly protective males, what’s not to love?! There were glimpses of romance drama for Vaughn and Reece, and Greer has me worried, so I wonder which brother will get his story next? Tonya Burrows continues to enthrall and excite me with her addictive stories, so I can’t wait for the next one!

Here’s the thing about the Wilde brothers: they never fail to give me a hard time when I’m writing them. Cam was a little bit worse than Jude and I have a feeling the older brothers are gonna be even harder to write when I get to them. But once I finish one of their books, there’s always some happy dancing (believe me, not a pretty thing to behold) and maybe even some triumphant fist pumping like I’ve scaled a mountain nobody else could climb. But I really do love returning to the Wilde Security world and seeing what kind of trouble the boys are getting into.

This time around, it’s Cam’s turn to find his Happily Ever After with his former MPD partner and best friend, Eva Cardoso. Their relationship is a lot of fun and they kept me laughing through the whole book. Let’s just say, you’re not gonna want to go drinking with these two!

It's difficult to give a book decent marks when the heroine (Eva) spends 98% of the novel in TSTL- territory. Eva is beyond annoying & stupid, & her level of stupidity is perhaps surpassed only by the character Keira in the novel Thoughtless. Like Keira, Eva is obtuse & oftentimes insensitive. Eva took the hero (her best friend Cam) for granted for FIVE long years. In a heated exchange between Eva & Cam's twin brother (Vaughn), Vaughn perfectly summed up everything that was wrong with Eva & Cam's relationship & hence, this novel:

Vaughn: "You’ve done nothing but make my brother miserable since Key West.... I don’t care if you fuck [Cam] twice a day and three times on Sunday. Good for him if you do.” He tapped his temple. “It’s the mind fucking I don’t like. You need to make a decision. It’s either Cam or that asshole you’re so hung up on. But if you choose Preston, you need to let Cam go. Cut all ties.”

Eva: Cut all ties with Cam? Her stomach pitched at the thought. “That’s not fair, Vaughn. You can’t ask me to—”

Vaughn: He faced her, and she gulped back the rest of her protest. His eyes were no longer flat and expressionless, but had ignited into cold fury. “No, I’ll tell you what’s not fair. Cam’s always right there even if that means leaving his own brother’s wedding. You tell him to jump, and he’ll reach for the moon. He’s put his whole goddamn life on hold for you. What have you done for him besides give him a few good lays?”

I had optimistically held out hope for Eva for more than 3/4 of the novel, until she decided to go out on a "date" with her ex-boyfriend— her long-term ex-boyfriend who cheated on her & ended up proposing to another woman. To add insult to injury, Eva considered accepting her ex's "proposal" of marriage knowing fully well that he was a liar & a cheater.... By this point in the story, Eva was already involved with Cam— her best friend who has NEVER hurt her & who never would. Cam had ALSO proposed to Eva, & yet Eva had a difficult time deciding between the two men. By this point in the story, I was DONE. However, I am glad that I kept on reading, in order to get to the scene when Cam FINALLY grew some balls & told Eva off. (About freaking time)!!!

Cam: “I can’t continue to separate the friend you want me to be from the man who is crazy in love with you.” He squeezed his eyes shut for a long moment, then shook his head and turned away. “So maybe it’s time you find a new best friend....."

Eva: All the air left her lungs as if he’d hauled off and sucker punched her. “I thought…when you gave me the ring…”

Cam: “A moment of foolishness. But I’m done. I can’t do this anymore. If you want to be with Preston, go ahead. I hope he makes you happy.”

Cam: “Eva, just stop. You don’t know what you want.... You have this cookie-cutter ideal family in your head, and I don’t fit it. Hell, you don’t fit it, but you refuse to see that. And even if you don’t take Linz up on his offer, someone else will eventually come along who you think does fit it, and I’ll get regulated to best friend again. I’ll grow to hate you for it.” He shook his head, and every exhausting second of the past few days showed on his face. “I don’t want to hate you when I’ve spent so many of the past five years in love with you. It’ll be easier for everyone if we just end things now.”

Unfortunately, however, the heroine .

In summation, I hated nearly everything about this novel. I should also add that when it comes to writing steamy scenes, this author is like a 2-trick pony. There are actually sexual scenarios in Book 2 that are almost directly lifted from Book 1. I don't think that this author has the versatility of say, Christina & Lauren (of the writing duo Christina Lauren)-- to keeps things fresh & unique in this aspect of her writing. All in all, a very disappointing read.

*1.75/5 stars*
(Note: If it weren't for Cam, my rating for this novel would be less than 1 star & perhaps even in negative territory).

When I decided to read this book I did not remember at all that I had already read the last book in this series, about the oldest (?) of the brothers, Greer. But when I started reading this story, I remembered. I don't know what I wrote in the review of that book, but I remember I had rather mixed feelings. I also think that I still liked that book more than this one.

Cam and Eva are one of those couples that I doubt if their relationship will last. The problem is primarily Eva. This woman doesn't know what she wants. Or maybe she knows too well and does not accept any deviations from her image of a perfect family. To the extent that she is seriously considering a relationship with a guy she is not sure she have feeling for, just because he fits her dreams perfectly. As a result, we have a kind of love triangle here. And I, like many other readers, hate love triangles. And this is not even a well-written love triangle.

I think Eva is the weak link in this relationship. I'm not sure she really knows Cam. The guy is her best friend, she has spent a lot of time with him over the past few years, and yet she constantly confuses him with his twin brother. I understand that she could be mistaken once or twice, but she should realize quickly that it is not the right brother. A human being is not only an external appearance. These are also characteristic gestures and behaviors, after six years of acquaintance with Cam she should be able to distinguish him. And all the time Eva is not sure what she wants. In real life, it could not be ruled out that she would wake up one day and find that Cam, in spite of everything, does not suit her dreams and she, after a thought, wants this perfect family from the sitcom she is talking about. I don't like how she compares Cam and Preston. As if she is giving them points and the one who collects more wins. And of course she holds both of them close. I can't resist the impression that if a third man appeared that would match her dreams like Preston but would not have his own ambitions like him, she would abandon both Cam and Preston for this third man. Seriously, Cam deserves more.

Cam is a very good hero and I really liked him. I also really like his brothers. Actually, so much that I would like to read the other books in this series. Especially since I also know all their partners now, although I still don't understand how the author will manage to create an intelligent heroine from Shelby. If only Eva wasn't that annoying. She is one of those heroines who instead of being strong women, only irritate you.

I would also prefer to have a little more suspense. This part is most of the time pushed into the background by the love dilemmas of the main characters. And in general it only serves to bring more drama into their relationship. Believe me, it's the last thing they need in their relationship, more drama. As if their constant breakups and returns were not enough.

The book is short so I was able to bear Eva. But I hope that the other books in this series are better.

4 - Poe the Parrot & Pink Unicorn Stars!

Ooooh the Wilde brothers certainly know how to show a girl a good time. Cam doesn't quite topple Jude from the pedestal that I have placed him on, but he is a very close second.

"Tell me to stop."
"Don't you dare."

"I've always wanted more, and I never told you. I want you, Eva. I've always wanted you, but I'm done being patient. I'm not your partner, I'm not your fuck buddy. I'm not even your friend.

"I'm here for you. I'll always be here for you"

I soooo wish I coulda been in that hospital room when the colouring pens were busted out, and leg-cast grafitti went down!

Oh and Seth....You and I have a date real soon...

I need to preface this review by telling you that I didn’t know it was a part of a series when I started reading. And to be honest, it didn’t matter. I still thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Camden Wilde, our hero, was a homicide detective before going into the security business with his brothers, with whom he’s extremely close to. However, he’s remained in touch with his ex-partner, Eva Cardoso. Mostly because he’s been in love with her since then. And this really sucked me in because I love, love, love a story about unrequited love. Especially when a hot ex-cop is involved. J/S

I related to Eva quite a bit. She was a realistic heroine with relatable hopes and dreams. Because of her upbringing, she longs for the perfect marriage with the perfect husband in the perfect house. She wants the security and stability of family because she’s been lacking that all her life. And as a woman, I totally get that, and it made it this story easy to fall into.

The catch is – Cam doesn’t fit into the mold she’s already preselected for the man she wants to be with. But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been harboring a secret crush on him anyway.

One alcohol-fueled night together changes everything. They’re finally able to let go of their inhibitions and all the reasons they think they shouldn’t be together…and just give in. And well, that changes everything. Even though all those same reasons come rushing back in full force the morning after. But they’ve been together now. And as much as they think that they’re wrong for each other, the way they made each other feel is a pretty strong force to deal with and continue fighting.

But they try, and that's what makes the story fun and interesting.

I enjoyed this story. It had a lot of elements that kept me engaged as I was reading. There was suspense and drama and my favorite, of course…passion.

I’ve never read anything by Tonya Burrows, but I’ll definitely be checking out her stuff now. I liked her voice as an author and the way she told this story.

Definitely a must-read for those of you who enjoy contemporary romance with a suspenseful twist.

4 stars!

For years Camden Wilde had been a homicide detective, before he left the force and joined his brothers in the Wilde Security company. A tight knit group, the boys had stayed close after the violent death of their parents when they were much younger. The one person he stayed in close touch with is his ex-partner, Eva Cardoso, the woman he has been in love with about as long as he has known her.

Daughter of a flightly mother and one of many fathers, and sibling to one known sister, Eva Cardoso is determined to do love, marriage and children the proper way. She wants the whole nine yards, complete with dog and white picket fence, something she has never known growing up herself. Although always harbouring more than just a passing interest in Cam, she has always kept him firmly in the friends category, knowing he would never want her ideal dream life.

When at a weekend wedding event, under the influence of copious amounts of alcohol, both Cam and Eva lose their reservations and let passions rule their actions, they embark on a scorching hot night neither of them will easily forget. No matter how hard they try in the days to follow. Not able to undo what happened and not wanting to lose their friendship, they try to work out a mutually beneficial agreement.

When a blast from the past and a disgruntled ex decide to create some disturbing distractions, Cam and Eva need to re-evaluate their expectations and evaluations and let their heart do the talking.

****

Another great read in the Entangled/Blaze publications!! A familiar friends to lovers trope, this one has the added dimension of ex-homicide partners and some interesting character context. The tension build up is steamy and the story has an unexpected and intense twist at the end.

Camden has been in self-sacrificing mode for most of the time he has known Eva. Well aware of her wish for the perfect family, he never saw himself as part of that picture and he valued her too much just to pass the time with her. He rather kept her as a trusted friend than a fly by night lover. Until he had one taste of her, and then he had enough of waiting and was determined to convince Eva he wouldn't just let her go again.

Eva was so hung up on doing the opposite of what her mother had set as a poor example, she chased an ideal and forgot to see what was right in front of her. She neglected to take her feelings for Cam into account. Once she was able to look beyond the surface and see the possibilities that laid deeper, her future became clearer. It took a shocking mistake in judgement on her part to come to that realization.

Tonya Burrows writes a finely balanced tale, where suspense, family dynamics, romance and some delectable bedroom fireworks complete an extremely satisfying story.

✨A thrilling and sexy tale of family, friendship and true love.✨

What’s Cam’s worst fear, can it be his fear of clowns or maybe Shark Week on the Discovery Channel maybe not just maybe it might be losing everyone that he cares about like the loss of his parents. Maybe his worst fear was losing the woman he loves, Eva.

Wow, this book was totally awesome!! I stayed up late finishing this read and it was totally worth the loss of a couple of hours of sleep. I loved how the beginning of Cam and Eva’s story starts with Jude and Libby’s wedding. I like that some of the characters from Seal of Honor were entwined in this story. I loved how I was able to get another snippet of Seth Harlan and his tragedy. I love Ms. Burrows writing style and how she was able to captivate my attention. The pace of this story is just perfect with just the right amount of scorching hot romance and suspense.

Camden “Cam” Wilde can’t believe that his brother is getting hitch. He knows that that will not be him, he doesn’t do relationships. Only that he has secretly loved Eva for years and now after he won a bet she has joined him for brother’s wedding. Damn she looks good all dressed up and after a couple of drinks from the special list at the bar, they had one wild hot amazing night. *totally love the combinations that the bartender came up with that got them totally flabbergasted, the cement mixer was hysterical*

Eva Cardoso can’t believe what is going through her head. The visions she is seeing of her naked with her best friend. This is not supposed to be happening. Only that that she had a little talk with her ex-boyfriend, the man she thought she would have a family with, she found out that he not only cheated on her but was now engaged. All she wants is to forget everything but things get out of hand cuz now she is drunk. She doesn’t want to be alone and alone she is not. Only when she awakens she knows that nothing will be the same again between her and her best friend. She needed to leave now so she sneaked out and didn’t look back.

Cam is not going to give up on Eva and he will get her to talk to him but before anything he finds out that someone has put a hit out on him. He needs to find out who wants him dead so he is hoping that Soup will find out. Only that when he ends up dead and Eva is investigating the case Cam only gives her minimal information, he doesn’t want her hurt. He will not tell her that someone wants him dead but will it come back to bite him in the ass at the very end. Will Eva forgive Cam for betraying her?

Wilde for Her is a scorching hot read that will leave you wanting more as it did me. I was able to connect with both Cam and Eva but also with the other brothers even Shelby, Eva’s sister. I could not believe what the “bad guy” had done in the past. Eva is a very strong willed woman but at times I could see a woman that just needed to be loved. After knowing her story and then seeing what her mother did to her own child I was stunned. I was happy that Eva was able to make something of herself and that she gave her sister hope. Eva and Cam both had issues that were affecting them now not only in everyday living but also in their relationships. The chemistry between Cam and Eva are off the charts when they are not fighting their feelings for each other. I wanted to bang Cam over the head because he thought he could solve the mystery of who wanted to kill him alone. I know that he wanted to keep his brothers safe but come on like they were going to live him alone.

Now as for the Wilde brothers that remain unattached, the one that has pecked my interest is Greer. Yes I know in my review Wilde Nights in Paradise, it was Reece but now it’s Greer. Maybe now I want to know his story, why is he having nightmares. Is he really suffering from PTSD and why now? He was the one that needed to grow up to fast in order to take care of his brother’s after their parents died. I want to know what happened to the brothers from the very beginning.

I loved every minute of this book and I can’t wait to see which Wilde brother is next to take the plunge in falling in love. This book is two in Wilde Security Series, it can be read as a stand alone but give Wilde Nights in Paradise a try it’s the first book in the series.

Wilde for Her is the second book in the Wilde Brothers Security series that focuses on five brothers who have started their own security company. Although I didn’t have the opportunity to read the first book, Wilde Nights in Paradise, I had no difficulty in reading this book as a stand alone. Burrows provides enough description of all five brothers and their backstories to help me get to know each character as an individual and to see the undeniable love and loyalty these siblings have for one another. While this story centers on Cameron Wilde’s blossoming romance with his former homicide partner, Eva, Burrows also sets up future storylines for the other brothers that are waiting to unfold. She gives just enough detail to nudge future story threads into the existing plot and pique my curiosity about what will happen in the next book, so this is a series I plan to continue.

 photo approves_zpse67ee5bf.gif

The plot has a nicely balanced blend of romance, mystery, and suspense, with a bit more emphasis on the romance between Cam and Eva, who worked together for five years as detectives before Cam left the force to join his brothers in the security business. Now they are still best friends, even though deep down Cam has always wanted more with Eva. He’s always kept his feelings for her hidden because he knows she’s the type of woman who wants marriage and a family, and he doesn’t see that for himself.

Eva has been relationship-free for the last six months, and the heartbreak has left her insecure about her desirability and whether she can have the ideal family life she’s longed for all of her life after growing up with a single mother whose need for parties, drugs, and men hindered her from providing a stable environment. Although Eva’s very attracted to Cam and has fantasized about him for years, she won’t risk taking their friendship to a physical and romantic level for fear of losing the best friend she’s ever had.

The story is told from both Cam’s and Eva’s perspectives and their thoughts and interactions together really show how right they are for each other. Their personalities and interests mesh well, and they are so comfortable and easy around each other that it’s obvious they have a strong emotional connection that will provide a solid foundation for a loving, satisfying relationship if only they will push beyond their fears and take the risk.

 photo closefriends_zpsb7384426.gif

I think it’s ironic, that these two strong-willed, independent, heroic characters won’t hesitate to risk their lives to protect others, but when it comes to matters of the heart, they both turn and run away. Yet, events throughout the story force these Cam and Eva to delve into the root of their fears, and I enjoyed watching them become more emotionally resilient as they moved out of their comfort zones.

 photo friendswithbenefits_zpsa1907ca6.jpg

Along with the romance, filled with steamy, passionate love scenes, Cam and his brothers must work together to find out who wants Cam dead. The danger escalates as Eva is brought into the drama because of a related homicide case, and, although it isn’t immediately clear who is the real antagonist is, it becomes more obvious as the plot builds toward a suspenseful climax.

Wilde for Her is an enjoyable read and I really hope Cam’s twin, Vaughn’s story is next.

Cam may have left the police force to work for the family security business but he has no intention of walking away from his best friend and ex-partner Eva. He has been secretly in love with her for years and it's about time that he proved to her what an amazing couple they could be. Cam is the only person Eva has ever been able to rely on, he has never lied to her and has always been there when she needed him but no matter how much she longs to take things further she could never risk losing his friendship if things went wrong. Can Cam convince her that their love is worth taking a chance on and what will happen if the contract that has been taken out on his life puts her in danger?

I really enjoyed both of Tonya Burrows' previous books so of course I jumped at the chance of reading Wilde for Her. Both of her series are loosely linked so it was nice to see appearances from characters we've already met and we also get to know the hero of the next HORNET book a little better too, I have to say I'm dying to get my hands on Seth's book Honor Reclaimed! The Wilde Security books are more spicy contemporary romances with a little suspense on the side while the HORNET books have more action and would definitely be categorized as romantic suspense so I knew going in that Wilde for Her would be hot and I wasn't disappointed. Cam and Eva have off the charts chemistry and as much as Eva fights the idea of having a relationship she certainly isn't adverse to them being friends with benefits.

They make a great couple though, I love friends to lovers romances and this is a fabulous example of that trope. You can tell instantly how much of a bond these two have, after working side by side for years they know each other inside out and they work together seamlessly in any situation knowing exactly what the other is thinking and how they will react. It is obvious to everyone around them how perfect they are together but they are both incredibly stubborn about it. Eva in particular is terrified of losing Cam, she has never had anyone she can rely on before he came into her life and she values his friendship more than anything. I could understand why she was so scared to take things a step further but I have to admit I did find myself a little frustrated with her at times because of it. Cam on the other hand has no problem admitting to himself how much he loves Eva but he is terrified that he can't be what she needs him to be and that he'll end up hurting her or losing her. There were times when I wanted to bang their heads together but Cam's twin Vaughn does it so effectively that we don't have to.

That's one of the other things I love about this series, the bond between the five Wilde brothers and the way they always have each other's backs. We get to know a bit more about each of the brothers in this instalment and I honestly can't decide whose story I'm most excited about, they each have very different personalities and their own demons and I have a feeling I'm going to fall for them all. Wilde for Her is a sexy read full of intense passion and hot enough to leave you fanning yourself. There is a bit of a mystery going on in the background but the focus is most definitely on the romance which worked for me. Tonya Burrows is already on my must read list and this book has guaranteed that she stays there. If you've not started this series yet then I'd definitely recommend picking up Wilde Nights in Paradise.

Best friends turned lovers is a common literary trope, yet it's one that I never tire of reading, especially when the story is so well-written that it is simultaneously familiar and refreshing. Such is the case with the second book in the Wilde Security series by Tonya Burrows, Wilde for Her, in which two best friends hover on the precipice of becoming something more. Each page is filled with an abundance of detail, whether the author was explaining the daily routine of a private investigator or the longtime friendship between protagonists, Cam and Eve. My imagination didn't have to work too hard because Burrows paints a clear picture of the story. I feel as though I became thoroughly acquainted with the two protagonists' daily lives and there was no aspect of the narrative that I didn't enjoy.

Wilde for Her may not have been as emotionally jarring as its predecessor, Wilde Nights in Paradise, but it still succeeded in tugging on my heartstrings. As strong and assured as Cam and Eve appear to be, they are revealed to be equally flawed and damaged, yet this is why they work so well as a couple. Whether they are razzing each other over a game of darts or giving in to their explosive chemistry, the deep connection between Cam and Eve is apparent, and it is the strength of their connection that made me root for them to progress past the friends with benefits arrangement they enter at the beginning of the book.

What I love most about Wilde for Her is that it has a bit of everything - some action, a hint of mystery and a fair amount of romance. The romance is an essential part of the story, yet it isn't the only draw; the plot delves into the ongoing murder investigation introduced early in the book in conjunction with the Wilde brothers' security company, which gives the book an added element of suspense. The familial bond is also expanded upon, so that, even though this is Cam's story, I was able to become better acquainted with each of the remaining Wilde brothers.

Introducing the future prospective love interests of the remaining Wilde brothers provided a glimpse of what their upcoming stories would entail. It was both frustrating and exciting reading teasers about Vaughn, Reece, and Greer in the midst of Cam and Eve’s story, because my mind whirled with the possibilities of their individual narratives. I appreciated the fact that Tonya Burrows took the time to give readers a preview of what's to come because, after reading Wilde for Her, I'm even more invested in following the series to its completion.

I LOVE THE WILDE BROTHERS!!!! We first met the brothers in Wilde Nights in Paradise (Jade's story).

There's Greer, Reece, Camden and Vaughn (the twins), and Jude. Wilde for Her is Cam's story.

Cam and Eva started out as partners in the MPD and eventually moved on to best friends, but unbeknownst to Eva Cam has been in love with her from the very beginning.

Cam is a HOT alpha male with a HUGE heart, a very protective side (for his brothers and Eva), he has a somewhat warped view of marriage, but his love for Eva outshines everything. I LOVE CAM!!! Eva didn't have an easy childhood, thus grew up thinking that she had to be bad-ass all the time. Unbeknownst to her Cam was her EVERYTHING.

I love a story about best friends falling in love. There were times I was laughing out loud, times I just wanted to reach through the screen and slap Eva and say wake the hell up!, there were times I was sad and slapped up side the head with a dose of reality (the effects of war can do that), there were times I could feel the love of the brothers, and yes, there were times I cried, but that just means the book was that good.

I can not wait for the other brothers stories!!! Tonya can not write fast enough for me!!! I also love that Tonya is introducing her Hornet men in the Wilde Security series.

If your looking for a book with HOT x 10000 Alpha Males, lots of twists and turns, some laughter, some angst, and some very lovable characters than look no further!

Thank you Tonya for another 5 star book!!

If you thought Jude Wilde was hot in Wilde Nights in Paradise wait 'til you meet Camden. And with another 3 brothers, I'm concerned that I may fall victim to internal combustion at some point!

This could actually be read as a standalone, but as the first book gives you a true introduction to the guys, I'd recommend. Protective, level-headed and very sexy, ex-military man/cop Cam has an aversion to commitment. Best-friend Eva, also previously his partner, is one of the guys, stubborn but craves the HEA - husband, babies, dog, the whole nine yards. Their friendship is important, hence there's a line they won't cross. But Jude's wedding + a vile concoction of alcohol = that line becoming somewhat blurred.

Their chemistry was fabulous and I loved them both; they're stubborn, they bicker, they argue, but they're made for each other and whilst they know each other so well, they don't. I loved that we get an insight into the the brothers and see how different they are and the banter and sparring between them (particularly Cam and his twin Vaughn) brings excellent humour. And I liked the little cross-over between Tonya's series' with the 'Hornet' guys making an appearance.

With action, romance, suspense and page-burning steaminess, it flows well and whilst I more or less worked out where some of the story was heading, it still held surprises and is a gripping superb addition to series. And with a couple of matters left open I can't wait for more!

Wilde for Her by Tonya Burrows was a fun, intense, and suspenseful read. Though missing out on the first book in this series probably hurt a bit, the plot and characters were vivid and cohesive enough that it didn’t matter too much. This book also sets up the next book in the series.

Camden and Eva light up the sheets, hearts, and pages with their explosive chemistry. They do tender and caring equally well. Both are scarred by familial issues and they each use those issues to push the other away, at first. But then, they know each other so well, those issues can’t keep them apart for long.

The mystery of the book isn’t whether they will end up together, in bed and out of it. The mystery is who has it out for Camden and what are they going to do about it. With Camden’s macho issues, he botches almost everything related to the hit out on him. An intervention on the part of his brothers sets the stage for his enemy’ s plan. Unfortunately, it was pretty obvious who the villain of the piece was.

Good pacing, good build up, great finish for Wilde for Her.

Cam and Eva are long-time friends, and former work partners, who become lovers, in the latest story of the Wilde Security series. Both carry scars from their pasts. Eva dreams of a husband, kids and white-picket fence, Cam knows he cannot give her that dream.

The action and sex were hot and we saw glimpses of future relationships for the other Wilde brothers. I recommend it for readers who like to see the alpha hero go from friend, to friend-with-benefits, to "it's complicated," to something amazing, real and long-lasting.

I have always enjoyed friends to lovers story especially when it is the hero in love. They were police partners and at his brother's wedding they spend a night together but the heroine runs because she has always wanted a permanent stable relationship and knows that with the hero it won't be possible because of his scars from his parent's death. Hero has been in love with her for five years but never did anything because of his issues. I loved seeing them come together.

1.5 stars- but really the extra 0.5 is only because of Vaughn.

Eva was just annoying. She waffled all over the place with Cam, considered taking back her cheating ex, was abrasive, and was just overall not a fun character to read about.

Cam was sweet, but I didn't really understand why he was so hesitant to marry and commit though he supposedly "loved" Eva. I also would've rather had more emotional development than simply the hero carrying a torch for the heroine (especially since said hero was too afraid and uncertain to really propose a relationship to the heroine).

Therefore, since I didn't much like Eva or Cam, the romance wasn't anything special to me either.

Shelby, the half-sister, actually seemed more interesting than Eva, and I really felt bad for how she was treated by her and Eva's mother.

Preston just felt like a really unnecessary addition, and I don't get his whole thing with Lark. I actually didn't realize he would be behind the contracted hit on Camden, though looking back it seemed pretty obvious. It also wasn't really that well developed, and the suspense fell flat.

I rather liked Vaughn. He was sweet, and I liked how he stood up for his twin against Eva. In general, I really enjoyed the bond between the Wilde brothers. I also think his story with Lark will be very interesting.

Overall, I didn't like this book and won't be checking out other ones by this author anytime soon.

He played his fingers over her entrace, enjoying her quick intake of breath when he dipped into her in a sneak preview of what was to come. She was hot and tight, her muscles clenching on his fingers like she wanted to keep what he was giving her and take even more. She threw her head back against the door and groaned his name.

His name.

A roar of triumph filled his head. Maybe it even rumbled from his throat. He didn't give a damn. Eva was calling his name. Finally.

Wilde for Her is the second book in the Wilde Security series by Tonya Burrows. I've had the first book, Wilde Nights in Paradise, on my TBR list but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. While normally I prefer to read series books like this in order, when I received a copy of Wilde for Her in exchange for an honest review, I didn't hesitate to just jump right in.

Camden and Eva were partner's, both homicide detectives, until Camden left the police forece to work with his four brothers as Private Investigators at Wilde Security. Through their years working together, Camden and Eva became more than just co-workers and partners, they became best friends. Camden has been less than honest with Eva about his true real feelings for her. He doesn't think he can give Eva her fairy tale life (marriage, kids, the picket fence) so he keeps his feelings to himself for years, never making a move. That is, until they both attend his brother's wedding in Key West.

Eva had a rough childhood, with little security, a negligent mother, and no father to speak of. She's always dreamed of security, for herself and the 2.5 kids she plans to have. After running into her ex-boyfriend in the Key's, she realizes he was cheating on her when they were together. She's also introduced to his new fiance which surprises the heck out of her because he told her he wasn't ready to get married. Those revelations along with the wedding locale, too many shots, and a sudden awareness of the chemistry between these two best friends, creates the perfect storm that results in Eve and Camden sharing a passionate night together. Unfortunately, Eva gets spooked and runs. Will Camden and Eva be able to salvage their friendship? Can Camden continue to keep his feelings for Eva a secret? Throw in an ex that changes his mind and a possible death threat and Wilde for Her was a wild ride.

I really liked the character of Camden. I didn't like Eva as much but she grew on me towards the end. At times I thought she handled things very immaturely with Camden and had little regard to his feelings. I understood where her feelings were coming from, feeling unsure and awkward about the night she spent with her best friend. I don't think that excuses some of her actions though.

The chemistry between the two characters and the overall steam of the story was perfect. There is a particular scene where they are in two seperate rooms but can hear each other.... I'll just say it was very HOT! Camden also had some alpha/dominant tendencies. Nothing kinky or over the top. Just pure man and it totally worked for me.

"Say my name."

She groaned. "Uh-uh."

"Who is inside you, Eva?" He punctuated each word with a shallow thrust. "Tell me who is fucking you."

She squirmed and tried to pull her hands free from his grip. "Cam."

Yes. A primal satisfaction short- circuited his brain. He released her hands and her nails instantly bit into his scalp. Grasping her hips, he pumped into her, each thrust pushing her higher and knocking their bodies against the door.

"Say it again."

"Camden," she whispered....

"Yes. Keep saying my name. I want it on your lips when you come."

Yep, the chemistry was hot and Camden was really sexy.

Wilde for Her is the type of book that you finish and wish the rest of the series was already out so you could continue to read about all the supporting characters. I liked reading about the chemistry all the brothers had together. Camden's twin brother, Vaughn, came across so fierce in his love for his brother when he met Eva at he bar and told her off. She totally deserved someone to set her straight and he definitely did. I plan to go back and read the first book in the series which is Camden's brother Jude's story sooner rather than later. I have a feeling none of the Wilde brothers are going to disappoint and I look forward to reading about each and every one of them! One character that only had a very brief role in Wilde for Her but really stuck out in my mind was Seth Harlan. Something about this scarred and troubled man intrigued me. I was hoping that he would have an upcoming book at some point. I was happy to see that Seth will get his own book in the companion series HORNET that Tonya Burrows also writes. Seth's story will be told in Honor Reclaimed and is expected to be released in the Spring of 2014. The first book in the HORNET series, Seal of Honor, has already been released and is the story of Gabe Bristow, who was a character mentioned in Wilde for Her. I will definitely be checking out the HORNET series and adding to my TBR list immediately!

Overall I really enjoyed this book. As part of the Entangled Brazen collection, it was everything I've come to expect from that series of books. It was well written, steamy, and had a hero that was hard to resist. I always know when I pick up a book that's part of the Entangled family, I'm in for a treat. Wilde for Her was no exception. I'd recommend this book for readers that enjoy friends to lover story lines, quick steamy romances with a touch of suspense, and anyone who's a fan of other Entangled books. While it works just fine as a stand-alone novel, I'd recommend reading in order if possible. A solid 4+ STAR read!

This was a very good story. Eva and Cam are both likable characters and had me rooting for them to get together from the start. This is the first book I've read by this author and based on this book I’m likely to try more of her work in the future.

Eva is a police officer in Washington, D.C. She used to have dreams of a husband and family but hasn't had much luck finding the right man. The last man she was involved with was a politician and as his political ambitions started escalating; their relationship started declining until it ended badly. Eva’s had bad enough luck with men that she’s decided to swear off men for good.

Cam used to be a police officer in Washington, D.C. but left that job to open a security company with his brothers. His parents died when he was 11 years old and their loss affected him deeply, making him swear off love connections (except his brothers) of any kind to avoid future heartache. Cam used to be partners on the police force with Eva and has had feelings for her for the last 5 years but he suppresses them because of his issues with loss.

Cam and Eva are best friends and things between them are strictly platonic (regardless of stray thoughts). Due to a lost bet, Eva agreed to be Cam’s date for his youngest brother’s wedding. This is supposed to be a fake “date” but for some reason, both Cam and Eva are feeling sparks between them that have never been so evident before. Maybe it’s the tropical venue for the wedding but whatever it is, messes with both Eva and Cam and they both start having some major problems suppressing their mutual attraction. The wedding is nice but Eva’s anxious for it to be done and this need gets even worse when she runs in to her ex and finds out he was cheating on her while they were together. To mask the emotional blow to Eva, Cam makes it seem like they’re a couple and plays things up for her ex, right down to a scorching kiss between them that has them both heating up quickly and then scrambling to hide how much the kiss affected them. A dare and quite a few shots later, both of them well on their way to being drunk and helping each other stumble to bed. In their drunkenness, the walls between them come down and Cam finally gives in to his need for Eva and Eva cooperates fully. They have a hot night together but when Eva wakes up before Cam, she freaks and ducks out before he wakes.

Obviously, Cam isn't happy about Eva ducking out on him. Once he’d finally given in to his need for her, he was kind of hoping she returned the feelings. Cam tries contacting Eva once back in D.C. but she avoids his calls for a few days and doesn't see him until there’s a crossover between Cam and one of Eva’s cases. Cam just found out from an informant of his that someone is trying to kill him and now Eva’s there because his informant is dead and Cam was the last one to see him alive. Cam decides to handle the situation himself and doesn't tell Eva about the contract because he wants to protect her. Eva wants to deflect the “relationship” talk but a sudden snow storm traps her at Cam’s place. As Cam tries to talk to Eva about them, he sees that she’s not doing well with the thought of them being something more so he backs off and says they can be friends. Soon it becomes apparent that the heat is still there between them so they become friends with benefits. Cam’s not thrilled about this but figures he’ll have to give it time and see if he can get her to see more with him. Although things between them are hot, emotionally things are very unsteady and this isn't helped when Eva’s ex, Preston (yeah, the one that cheated on her), suddenly comes around wanting her back. Eva starts to tell him no but when he pushes she agrees to think about it (which is just craziness). There’s much going on as someone makes an attempt on Cam’s life and Eva and he are still trying to work themselves out. They have some difficulties with this but thankfully they both have siblings that help things along. After some drama and a bit more danger, Cam and Eva manage to get through their difficulties (both with the killer and their relationship) and head in to their “it’s about time” HEA.

I really enjoyed this story. Eva and Cam were both good characters and I liked them. Cam was a little wimpy about facing up to his feelings but it wasn't bad considering his background/reasoning. Eva I liked and my only complaint about her was that she ever even considered taking Preston back. In the end she admitted to herself she couldn't have actually taken him back but to even consider taking back a lying, cheating jerk like that made me wonder what the hell she was thinking. Outside of that she was a pretty cool heroine. I was happy to see Cam and Eva get together and I have to admit that I’m now curious about the first book in the series so I may go back and read that when I have time. I’d recommend this story. Thumbs up.

Wilde For Her uses the popular friends-to-lovers trope, which I enjoy as much as the next reader. This was my first time reading Tonya Burrows, though it won't be my last. I admit I had some mixed feelings on this novel, but overall I still liked this book. Based on the sexy fun alone, I would rate it 4 stars; for the story and characters actions, more like 3. So I'll go half way and give it a 3 ½.

As I said, Wilde For Her does well in regards to the steam factor – very hot, very sexy, and Cam can be a real dirty talker. And who can resist a dirty talker? Not I! I had no complaints here, and to be honest the sex scenes were some of my favorite parts of this book. For that alone, I'd no doubt come back for another book by this author.

Now, I had a few issues with the story and the way the characters behaved.

First, within only a few pages, Cam says that he will never settle down and get married – he's just “not that kind of man”. However, only a few pages after that Eva arrives at the hotel and suddenly he's admitting how he has been in love with her for 5 years. Wait, how can you admit you love a woman, yet claim you're only a one-night stand kind of guy? It just rubbed me the wrong way, I guess. Now, true, his actions throughout the story pretty much show a guy who's secretly in love with his best friend, but I kept thinking about what he said in the first few pages of the book.

As this was a friends-to-lovers book, I expected to see more of the “friends” part of the story. Instead, I was a little disappointed. While Burrows did mention some of the ways they've been friends over the years (working out together, her crashing at his place, knowing what the other one liked, etc), I wanted to see more of their friendship during the span of the actual novel, and I felt that fell a bit short for me.

Eva . . . I just couldn't understand why she kept allowing Preston back into her life; they broke up, he cheated on her, plus he never really knew her. I know, she wanted the “perfect life” so bad, but come on, Preston was NEVER the one to give it to you, girl! When she actually considered his proposal of marriage, I was ready to throw something at her head. Hard.

And I can't believe the way she allowed her mother to keep screwing up her life and just waltzing into her house, a house she worked hard for, even if it's not exactly a mansion. Again, I know she wanted the perfect family and life that she never had as a kid, but I never would have continued to put up with it, not as an adult. Although, I guess it's easy to say these things when it's not YOU that's living this life.

See? Kind of small things, but they were enough to drag the overall story down a bit for me.

But after seeing the various Wilde brothers, I'm curious enough to come back to this series in the future. 5 sexy brothers, all of whom went into one part of the military or another, and who have various issues from losing their parents at a young age and having to raise themselves . . . Yep, I'll definitely be continuing this series! Plus, Burrows has a talent for writing a sexy romance. Win-win!

Wilde for Her is the second book in Tonya Burrows Wilde Security series. Wilde for Her tells the story of Cam Wilde and Eva Cardoso, former police partners, they remained best friends after Cam left the force to go work with his brothers in their Wilde Security firm. Unbeknownst to Eva, Cam’s always been in love with her, he just never felt he could really give her the white picket fence she has always wanted. For Eva, Cam is the one person she trusts implicitly and she would never risk losing him as her friend by giving in to her true feelings for him.

When Eva agrees to be Cam’s date at his brother’s wedding in Florida, the entire scope of their relationship changes. After drinking far too much, they gave into their desire for each other and spent the hottest night together either had ever had!!!! Now, unable to unring THAT bell, they must try to come to terms with the new reality of their relationship. This proves to be difficult when they realize that there is a hit out on Cam. As they try to figure out who wants Cam dead and why, Cam is determined to show Eva that he is WILDE for Her and they do belong together!!!

I was thrilled a few months back when I discovered the talented Tonya Burrow. She writes Romantic Suspense how I would like to think I would write it if I ever tried……interesting storylines, great characters, steamy sex scenes and perfectly integrated humor. Unfortunately for me, I don’t think I could do it half as well as Ms Burrows!!! Burrows balances the mystery, passion and action with humor and family that makes for the best kind of read, the kind you can’t put down!!! Her characters are relatable (I just KNOW that Eva and I would be friends), the men might be Alpha Males but they are flawed in all the best ways. Burrows brings her characters to life in the pages of her books, Wilde for Her made me groan in frustration as Cam and Eva continued to circle each other; I felt my temperature rise when their passion got the better of them and yes, I laughed out loud during a certain bar scene!!! Burrows does a great job of drawing the reader in and letting them really get to know her characters, even the secondary ones (namely the other Wilde Brothers).

Overall I completely enjoyed this latest edition in the Wilde Security series. ,b>Tonya Burrows has a knack for merging together everything I want in a book…..romance, action, adventure, humor and yes, sexy time!!!! I not only recommend but encourage readers of romantic suspense to give Ms. Burrows’ books a try…..you will not be disappointed!!!

I am in love with Tonya Burrows and her sexy ex-military men! Burrow paints a tale of best friends turned lovers in Wilde for Her with Eva Cardosa and Camden Wilde. Former homicide partners, these two bonded on their first meet over carrot sticks and have stuck together ever since. But Cam wants more then friendship from Eva, he has from the start. Fear of loosing another loved one though has kept him from revealing his true feelings these last five years and he is unsure that he could ever give Eva the white picket fence future that he knows she dreams of. But after a drunken night of incredible sex at his baby brother, Jude's, wedding there's no way that they can return to the same old friendship they shared before. Eva proposes a friends with benefits relationship, but can Camden live with being shuffled to the 'friends' corner for the rest of their lives? With his life on the line, and the life of his twin brother's, Cam decides that he's no longer willing to sit on the sidelines when it comes to love; even if that means loosing Eva forever. Friendship and all.

Wilde for Her was an exciting and fast paced story that I loved from the start. Because of her upbringing and her mother's unstable life, Eva longs for stability and basically perfection. Her best friend Cam doesn't fit in the picture Eva has painted for her future but that doesn't stop her heart from speeding up every time she is around him. Her and Camden have an easily apparent connection that you can feel from the first scene of these two together. The passion Cam feels for Eva bursts from the pages and you can't help but fall in love with him; his heart, loyalty and determination is what true book heroes are made of. :) And Eva is a heroine to admire, anyone who can hold their own with this lot of men earns points with me! Wonderfully detailed and easy flowing, I enjoyed every minute of this book and anticipated each page; would Cam give in, WOULD EVA? Who put a hit out on Cam? Was someone else going to fall victim to the mysterious hit man?

Wilde for Her had everything; action, mystery, humor sprinkled throughout to keep the story from getting too deep, and a burning romance with a cast of characters that captivated. Plus, an unexpected twist at the end! I adored the comradeship between brothers as well as the little glimpses into future relationships and books. I can't wait for the next Wilde novel!
