If I didn't know better, I'd think this one was penned by Victoria Holt -- very enjoyable Gothic historical suspense, featuring a crumbling old castle, a missing diamond, a governess and her out-of-wedlock daughter, and of course the Cornish coast. Great escapist reading.

Good Gothic romance suspense


I enjoyed reading Penhallow Castle! It is a slower kind of suspense but still has twist and turns in the story that keep a reader wondering.
