This book was a gift from friends who know I enjoy jazz. It is nicely formatted to the accompanying eight CDs -- trumpets, bass/guitar, sax (2), piano, percussion, clarinet, trombone. The text provided is in German and English.
This is not heavy material; not a serious read or in-depth life stories of artists. It is just a compilation of known and not-so-known jazz artists whose styles attracted attention. It gives comfortable readings about the times and influences of the jazz movements, while you listen to very good selected pieces on each CD.
This has been a gift to read and listen to time and time again.
