After seventeen-year-old Blake Ehlert is brutally attacked and infected with vampire venom, she must choose between imminent death and eternal life. Unable to turn away from true love, Blake ultimately embraces the reality to which she’s been doomed. But life as a teenage vampire proves to be a lot more difficult than even she bargained for.

To make matters worse, Blake finds herself caught on the cusp of revolt, led by the Chief of Police and town’s most powerful vampire. I am a 60 years old, French speaking Canadian and I love paranormal/vampire stories and Blood Type is a very, very good read.

It was necessary for the author to set the stage for the emotions that Blake is going through. Even though, I am not much of a fan for story lines that flips back and forth from past to present, halfway into the book, I realized that it would have been difficult to write this story any other way.

The cast of characters are likeable and full of personality. I love them all, the good, the bad, and the ugly ;-) The story is full of suspense, drama and romance. The kind of book that is hard to put down and at the end you say: " Melissa, nooooooo... Don't live me like this... Pleaaaaase don't make me wait too long for the sequel.

For me it does not top The Spirit Keeper but it is close, very close. Félicitation madame, you have given us, again, a tremendous good read.

It's one thing to deal with normal teenage drama--it's another thing entirely to add to it the trials and tribulations of becoming a vampire. Blake is hungry and constantly trying to keep the rage at bay. Plus, she's in love with one vampire while bonded to the one who sired her.

Unfortunately, her problems are mounting. She needs blood and the man in control of the blood supply, who is also the Chief of Police, is raising prices. There are other alternatives, but all come with a stiff price. Blake decides to make a stand. But who can she trust? And how far up does the treachery go?

I love characters with spunk and spirit, no whiny teenage protagonists for me. Blake doesn't just sit in a corner and bemoan what life has handed her, and who could blame her if she did (at least for a little while). Instead, she comes out fighting.

If you love paranormal stories with a strong female lead, you will love Blood Draw. Just be forewarned, it ends on a cliffhanger. But it's one with lots of promise. Book three is high on my most anticipated books of 2014 list!

I LOVE this author!! I have read every book she has written and each gets better. I felt like I waited as *patiently* as I possibly could of BLOOD DRAW. After all, BLOOD TYPE (book one) is one of my favorite books. The moment I opened BLOOD DRAW on my Kindle, I felt like I was settling in with old friends, not having to search through the hundreds of books I have read since BLOOD TYPE to remember where it left off. I love Blake, especially how she really stepped up to what she had become in such a short amount of time. So much happens in BLOOD DRAW, I had a hard time putting it down.
I'm not sure how long I will be able to hold out for book three, and may get un-friended on Facebook if I have to start hounding her to hurry (even though I know she has other projects, a family, and I'm just being down right greedy.)
Please, if you haven't given any of Melissa's books a try I urge you to! Then share a recommendation with your friends!

This is a great book, it is the second book in the series. If you have not read these books, then you are really missing out. This book picks up where the first book leaves off, with Blake trying to handle being a new vampire. She also has to determine who she can trust in her new world. She finds out that the head of the vampires in her town have started increasing the price of blood and is trying to get the vampires to go after the humans for his own plan. This is going to lead to a war with vampires against vampires, with the humans caught in the middle. I can't wait to read the next book in this series to find out what is going to happen next.

This book was definitely better than the first one. I felt the love and passion she was trying to put into Blake and John's relationship. Well she is now a vampire and now tied to a conniving vampire which makes for an interesting story. Busy with new vampirism while the head vampires have something up there sleeve that has all the vampires up in a tizzy. Can't wait for the next one!

I absolutely LOVED this book!!!! The style of writing was fabulous and I loved the storyline. The conflict of being in love with one guy, but being physically and emotionally bonded to another. I know I couldn't handle that many emotions at the same time with two guys, much else vampires. I definitely loved how the characters handled themselves. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book!!!!

I really enjoyed the first novel Blood Type. But..... It really started to leg in this one. It kinda went on and on and didn't get anywhere. And it was sold to me as a two book series only to get to the end and find out it wasn't the end. That really annoyed me. Who knows when part three will get published.
Overall it was an okay book. Just disappointing.
