In this final instalment, our heros the two saddle tramps Bo and Scratch are home in Texas. They are trying to keep a range war from happening on Bo's Father's ranch. There are a lot of family dramas and a whole lot of humor in this one. I recommend the whole series highly.
This is the newest in the "Sidewinders" and the only one I have read so far. Very easy to get into even though I had not read any of the other books. Great characters and a fun and exciting read.
As the series carried on, I felt like it didn't hold the thrill that the originals did. They focused a lot on relationships with women, but I guess that's a part of life. I did enjoy getting to know Bo's family and Scratch's. If you enjoy the series, then this is pretty much the same. A good ending to the series.
A nice story about greedy ranchers trying to take over a neighboring ranch to add to their holdings. A couple of gals thrown in to add a little romantic interest. A trail drive and lots of confrontation. Very entertaining.
As usual the Johnstones have hit another home run. Engaging from start finish. It allows you to focused on the story characters and place yourself in the middle of the action. Separating you from the real world in which you live.
This adventure grabs on to a unique tale of action and treachery. There is the perfect blend of fast-paced action with plenty of twists and turns with the right touch of romance. Excellent reading from beginning to end.
Bo Creel and Scratch Morton. Back home in Bear Creek, forty years of wandering hadn't changed that, the two old friends find themselves in the middle of a battle for control of the area.
Bo's family ranch, the Star C, is being hit by hustlers, the cattle being bled away a handful at a time. The family was sure it led back to chief rivals the Fontaine family.
A loan has been called in and the Creeks have only six weeks to pay off the twelve grand owed. A quick trail drive is organized to drive down to the coast. It will mean a loss, but will net enough to get them out of trouble.
But Nick Fontaine is ready to do what's necessary to gain control of the Star C.
Excellent western with a Romeo and Juliet subplot.
I have really enjoyed this series about two older characters who have been together for most of their lives. No cliff hanger, but an open story line that can definitely trigger another book in the series.
