Chains Unbound starts off by gripping your heart and never lets go. Aubrey is a sub looking for a dom who will accept him and love him but unfortunately for him the one he gave himself to only took his trust and brutalized him with the help of two other men. Devlin and his partner Reece respond to a call from dispatch of reports of screams coming from an abandoned warehouse. Getting on scene the last thing he expected was to have to cut Aubrey, a sub and employee of The House. His protective instincts take over, but it’s more than being a dom or a police officer. Aubrey is making him feel things that he doesn’t want to face. Devlin’s care of Aubrey makes him feel cherished but he doesn’t want Devlin to keep him around out of a sense of obligation.
I immediately fell in love with Aubrey’s character. He may be a natural submissive, but he has an inner strength and spirit that not only survived a horrific attack, but came out stronger on the other side. He knows what he wants and isn’t going to just fall at Devlin’s feet unless he knows for sure there is more there than just sex. The way Devlin makes Aubrey face his fears while keeping his dominant side in check really shows how much he loves Aubrey.
This m/m story has everything I’ve come to love from Ava Snow. With well rounded characters that you immediately become attached to because of the enormous amount of emotion Ava pours into the pages, the scorching sex scenes only serve to take the book to a whole other level, spectacular. The characters we came to care for in Past Unbound and Love Unbound play a big part in Chains Unbound and damn if Slade and Dare don’t take over a page when they go all dom even though it’s Aubrey and Devlin’s story. There was nothing in this story that I would have changed except of course to be longer, but even with the short page count it lacks nothing to give a reader complete enjoyment and closure with a nice neat HEA ending. Ava Snow is an author who gets better and better with every book she puts out and I always look forward to reading her work.

Chains Unbound kicks you right in the gut right off the bat. It hurt my heart to hear what Aubrey went through, and it warmed my heart to hear and feel the beautiful dynamic between Aubrey and Devlin. Aubrey was broken down, beaten, and laid raw. You would think no one could live through what he went through, but you quickly learn just how strong Aubrey really is. Part of what made him live through the nightmare and made him strong enough to stand again was the gorgeous bisexual Dom, Devlin. Devlin is a protective Dom with a not so great history with his previous sub. He couldn't be what his last submissive wanted, so he closed off his heart to all others. Sure he would "play" with other subs at the club, but he would not go any further...until he laid his eyes on Bre.
Aubrey, a.k.a. Bre to his lover, was disowned by his parent and had to create a good life on his own. He wanted nothing more than to be claimed by a lover, and Dev was that lover. Devlin wants to be careful with Bre, thinking that he definitely is not ready, but when Aubrey kneels at his feet in the perfect position, showing just how much he wants this, Dev cannot hold back his heart any longer. He gives Aubrey what he needs and therefore fulfilling something he was missing in himself.
Quite a bit happened in Chains Unbound with it being a short read. The BDSM scenes were pretty hot and heavy. It was also beautiful and tender, showcasing a wonderful dynamic between a Dom and his submissive. It had a good amount of suspense, and it kept you on your toes, wondering how everything was going to turn out. It had my heart racing for sure. There is nothing like a passionate BDSM MM scene to have you begging for a cold shower.

The House of Doms Series keeps getting better and better! I don't want it to end. The trust and passion shared between Aubrey and Delvin is nothing short of heart clenching. Ava you cease to amazing me and I am enjoying watching you progress as an author. GIVE ME MORE!!!

I found myself unable to put this down until I'd finished reading it. Both Aubrey and Devlin had to go through some emotional quicksand during this story, and every bit of it played at my heartstrings. This installment in this series is my favorite to date!
