So the highlight of this book is the introduction of Battle Engines- massive battle constructs that add some unique models and centerpieces to a Warmachine army. Additionally, we find the standard template of new a new warcaster, warjacks and units for each faction that we get in every Warmachine supplement.

The main reason why I read these books is for the fiction (it would probably be more enjoyable if I actually read them in order so the timeline was jumping back and forth from past and future events). This book sets up some significant events that will take place in later books with the introduction of Vinter Raelthrone's return prior to the events of the Blood of Kings book and the set-up for next incarnation of Goreshade when he is infused by the power of Nyssor.
