Mom of two and general chaos manager by day. Author by the moments I have left in between.

I've had a love affair with books for as long as I can remember. When I found a story that I craved and just couldn't find it in someone else's words, I started creating my own.

I live in the beautiful state of Texas but daydream of cooler climates. I consume more caffeine than any human should be allowed.

This beautiful friggin story has just made me laugh and cry and want to share it with everyone I know. Hook, line, & sinker from the very beginning. Ellie and Atlas' story is one for the records for me. Ellie and Darcy are officially my favorite heroine and side kick characters. Honestly this story had it all, I loved every character. Every. One. They were hilarious, and they had personalities that were so relatable it felt like I was reading about friends. They also made me cry, for good reasons(graduation scene, Atlas friggin Ryker swoon moments, & epilogue!) and not so good reasons(have to read it because I don't like giving spoilers). The story had an unbelievably honest and realistic view about deployment and how it actually affects family members at home. Also about PTSD from different circumstances and how you really can overcome anything. I will always want to be able to read this story like it was the first time. I enjoyed it immensely and highly recommend. I think everyone should read this & be prepared for all the feels! To the author, Ashley, cheers to you and your incredible story! Can't wait for more of your books!

I finished Something worth fighting for at O'Late Thirty last night. 5 Stars! This book made me laugh, made me cry! I fell in love with Mr. Atlas Ryker. He's an alpha marine who falls head over heels in love with Ms. Ellie Grant before he gets deployed. Ms. Ellie Grant is a strong woman who doesn't take shit but has a few issues. Together the deal with life and try to find their happiness. I completely recommend this book and suggest you add it to your TBR! Ashley McNiel next book comes out soon and I can't freaking wait!!!

I stayed awake too late reading this book. I just could not put it down. I felt so many emotions reading this book. The character development was so well done I felt like I knew all of these people. I am amazed with this book. At the halfway mark I was already calling people recommending it. I am going to reread this many times and I will probably cry each time. Coming from a military family I know these feelings all too well.

Great book. I liked it from start to finish. My only problem was the editing. It was a lot of misplaced words. I'm not usually one to be a stickler for words but these were bad. I really loved Ellie and her personality. This book had you feeling every emotion in it as well. It was a great read.

Very good story. The characters were strong and had to overcome a lot. Perfect ending. Will there be a book about Darcy?

I keep this book downloaded in my Kindle app for easy reading anytime I don't have a physical book with me. It's an easy one to read time and time again, but it's not without its flaws. Not in love with the back and forth of the relationship at times - gives me a bit of whiplash. Besides that, I love the possible pregnancy issues that this book brings attention to and appreciate the way they outline what it's like to have friends and family in the military.

I really loved this book. I thought the plot was fantastic and the characters were well developed. Its starts off with Ellie working in a diner- and she looks up to see the hot as hell Atlas Ryker. I just loved him. He was a strong character and such an alpha protector. I mean duh, he is a marine. Ellie doesn’t really go for marines typically, because her brothers and father are all marines. She knew what kind of man Atlas was going into their relationship.

Their courtship is adorable. They were funny, and very relatable to real life. Their relationship did not move at a fast pace, like some books. It wasn’t too slow either- because Ryker was a marine he knew it was only a matter of time before he got deployed again.

All of the characters were well written. I enjoyed all of the secondary characters too. Darcy was a great best friend to Ellie, and they were so cute together. I’m glad that Darcy was there for Ellie when Ryker went away. The characters were written in a way that made me want their stories too. The author made me shed some tears. It’s a military romance; I knew what was going to happen. Marines get hurt, marines die. Fact.

There were soooo many swoon moments too. Tears sprung to my eyes at the graduation scene. I wanted to jump into the book and watch everything unfold. There were scary moments too. But I knew Atlas would always come back.

The realistic feel of how families feel when loved ones are deployed made me physically hurt. Especially for Ellie and Ryker because I was so attached to them. The way they had to keep saying good-bye broke my heart over and over.

I highly recommend this book, just be prepared to feel a huge gamut of emotions. You will laugh and cry- and everything in between. It was a sappy romance, the couple is so lovey dovey, but I need that kind of story. I read a lot of dark books, angsty books, mysterious books- and it’s nice to read a great love story. With a few elements of surprise- but otherwise a happily ever after and no cliffhanger.

I love a good Marine story, I guess I am sucker because I married one. This story was sweet and it was exactly what I needed to read today. It was an emotional story with a great plot. There are some mistakes in the book, if that bothers you but it didn't bother me. I am so hoping Darcy gets her own book because I really would like to hear about her story.

I would have given this book 4 stars except for the fact that it needed an editor (or a better one) and some of the significant plot parts were just wrapped up too neatly/unrealistic. Was a good story otherwise.
