I did not thinj=k it would end like it did. I thought Kino would kill the trackers or the trackers would kill Kino i did not think Coyotito would die. I thought Kino would still not give up after Coyotito passed but maybe he would keep going. I thought it was sad that Kino realized that it was destroying his family that fast after his only son died.

I read the original - not the adaptation. Guess I should wear my glasses while I'm on the computer.

This was a very suspenseful book with Steinbeck's extraordinary attention to detail and circumstance. You know a story is good when you want to keep following the characters at the end of the book. This was a quick and satisfying read.
