With a good underlying story, Ms. Pugh's first foray into romance and fiction will keep you through to the end. The presentation concept, a story related to the author by way of paranormal contact and psychic communication about a young woman who continues to remain in contact with a dead friend, is quite interesting and works fairly well in the context of this novella.
The characters are neither strong nor weak but stand well enough in this first effort. As a reader I had issues with plausibility at various points in the book regarding the young detective’s willingness to reveal so much so quickly to a civilian he only recently met. But maybe that's what they mean by "Love is blind."
