Courtesy of a random time-shifting event in 1976, Jason Apsley time travelled from 2019 to 1976 and unwittingly displaced ‘other’ Jason, who has no choice but to continue his life forty years in the future. When our reluctant time traveller encounters the family of the man who replaced him, he realises the future is not quite as he imagined. And neither, as it transpires, is time travel. As ‘other’ Jason attempts to navigate the future, he discovers the world has somewhat changed since the mid-1970s. Notwithstanding the inevitable ensuing chaos, history unfolds to reveal the consequences of his past mistakes. What if the two men meet in the future? Can the movement of time offer the opportunity to correct his past? Or will those decisions of sixty years ago haunt his future? Hello ... I'm a self-confessed time-travel fan. So, unsurprisingly, my books fit into the time-travel genre. My third book, Eye of Time, will be published in October 2021. Please drop onto my website for updates.
This novella answers the question of what happened to 'Other Jason' when Jason took over his life in 1976. You get to hear more of the back story about Other Jason's life before he moves back to the Broxworth Estate.
Sadly Jason has died in 2015 at the age of 82 and his son Chris is searching for his father's lookalike.
When Other Jason regains consciousness after an attack he finds himself in the future and bemused by mobile phones, fashions and changes to his town of Fairfield.
Other Jason, Chris and Beth are getting their heads around the idea of time travel when the Cortina pings him back to 1994.
Some of these events are mentioned in Calling Time and it's probably better to read this first, but it's interesting to see the events from a different perspective.
Another really enjoyable book in the Jason Apsley series.
I do enjoy the Jason Apsley series and was delighted to discover this novella plus, to be read, Calling Time. This one is about the other Jason Apsley and what became of him. Questions are answered with the promise of more to come. Great concept, good use of humour and excellent time travel quandary.
This was good but confusing as I read the other 4 books first so this book was confusing as I knew that Jess didn’t die and that Beth knew about time travel. But it was still worth reading.
What a brilliant series! Just read the first 3 books, can’t wait to start the next. These books offer everything, from suspense, to humor, they bring back memories as the time Jason is in is described. Highly recommend.
