Have you ever been publicly humiliated, called hate-filled names, bullied in school, endured rude insults, or told you’d never amount to anything? Son of A Soldier gives you real hope to overcome obstacles and face adversity, while achieving your own personal potential. Eddie Williams is a West Pointer, U.S. Army Officer, Airborne Ranger, and Green Beret. He grippingly shares shocking family secrets discovered after his parents died. His story will encourage every reader.
Re-posting as all my Facebook posts from 2-22 Nov have mysteriously disappeared. Written by a West Point classmate and Ranger School teammate, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Eddie Williams tells a warm and very personal story of courage, character, resilience, and Family love which all combined to teach him life lessons that have shaped who he has become. From humble beginnings with loving parents, supporting teachers and friends he made it to West Point, successful service as an Infantry, then Special Forces ODA Team leader before leaving the Army due to consequences of a severe injury he knew would eventually limit his ability to serve. His story is one of how to overcome the obstacles and hardship of life through love, hope and faith. To a special man, husband, father and classmate - Well Done!
Son of a Soldier was a very inspirational book. It was easy to read with many personal stories from Eddie Williams' life journey. I loved his candor and building of suspense in telling his personal story. At the end of the book you find out a very important and surprising family secret that I did not see coming. I recommend this book for people of all ages.
Well- written and very interesting. Eddie is a neighbor and friend. Lots of respect for his candor in telling his story, which had to have been emotionally difficult. He does a great job of weaving his motivational tenets into his own story. Well worth the time it takes to read!
I read this because it was written by one of my friends in spin class at the Y. While I enjoyed reading about Eddie's journey that made him the amazing man he is today, it served as a mirror that had me reflecting on choices I have made. It also gave me some food for thought about how I need to be dealing with things in my day to day life.
