THE SERIES WITH OVER A MILLION COPIES SOLD New York Times & USA Today Bestseller
~Volume 8 in the New York Times Bestselling Arrangement Serials~
Nothing ever goes the way it should. Marty is barely a friend any more, and the roommate from hell is doing Naked Guy on my couch again. It's bad enough that it feels like my life is coming apart at the seams. There's one man that has held it together for the past few weeks, but things change. All it takes is a few words and everything shatters.
New Adult Romance This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 20,000 words each. ~The Arrangement Vol 1-8 are on sale now.~
H.M. Ward continues to reign as a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author who surpassed more than 23 million books sold, placing her among the literary titans. Ward has been featured in articles in the NEW YORK TIMES, FORBES, and USA TODAY to name a few.
Aghhhh! The Arrangement 8 picks up, as always after its predecessor #7. However, H.M Ward is mixing it up. The Ferro brothers are crossing literary boundaries and showing up in each others series! If you're familiar with this authors work you'll know Sean Ferro--Arrangement series--shows up in the Damaged series where we were introduced to his brother Peter. And Peter has made his appearance here and in #7. Gheesh!
But aside from this interesting intermingling, I really enjoyed this instalment. Sean and Avery have parted ways and things are at there all time low for Avery. She's heartbroken but is trying to stay numb, by immersing herself in school and work. We don't know what Sean is up to because he isn't around for the majority of the book, but I'd love to get some of his POV one day.
I honestly don't know where this is going but I do know one thing: IT HAS TO END. SOON.
I love this series but I fear it's almost reached it's beaten horse status. You know, you can't beat a dead horse? Or rather you can't beat an effed-up, dysfunctional relationship. Seriously, it needs to wrap up. I keep reading each instalment because I'm a slave to this series and the outcome of these characters but I don't want to reach a point where I no longer have any interest. Or worse, the books outstaying their appeal.
And like I expected, there's a cliffy--when isn't there? But this time I sense what's up. As to what Avery is going to do...that is the million dollar question! I'm hoping H.M Ward will stop at #10, just enough room to tie things up---HOPING! Regardless, this series is fantastic and extremely addictive!!
FINALLY! Things are looking better...i highly recommend reading the two Damaged books because The Arrangement 8 starts where Damaged 2 left off Sean and Avery! I'm more in love with Sean now!! And I love Peter!!! Avery finally is making more mature decisions, not right ones yet, but at least they are more mature, right? Oh, and now I definetly have a suspect for killing Sean's wife! I bet it was Henry, that snake!! Also something is up with Mrs. Black too, I'm sure! She's getting too desperate... I wasn't sure if I liked Gabe or not, but now I am, he's been great in the last two books! I believe this series can end in book 9, maybe book 10 and things are untangling in a very sasfactory way, finally!!!
Former review:
OMG! After finishing Damaged 2 I really need it! Does anyone knows how many books there will be?
Sooooo frustrated! Okay, sooooo.....ummmmmm....yea....book 8 to me seemed like it was written in 5 minutes IF THAT. Bottom line, it sucked. Here's why.... First off, I was forced to read Damaged (which I am actually thankful for because those books fucking rocked!) HOWEVER, my soft spot for Sean disappeared! I mean what a fucking prick. Damaged ruined any love I had for Sean. Second of all, I think she got her Avery confused because the Avery I read about in Damaged is certainly not the same Avery I have been reading about in the Arrangement series. I think that intertwining all these books is fucking her characters up. Third, I have now spent $24 for a series that I once loved but now is so repetitive it's crazy. It's like, I love but you I can't be with you so I am going to leave you....No wait come back....okay I love you.....oh no I have to leave you.....but wait i love you come back....ETC you get my drift! So now I feel like there are going to be 100 of these and I think it is time to put these characters to rest. ENough is enough and it is getting ruined and out of control. Oh and FUCK Marty, he's disgusting.
Okay not sure when the 9th book comes out, but I can't wait! The ending of this book was hysterical, what was Marty thinking!!! Oh and if you haven't read Damaged 2 your not going to understand the beginning of this book at all. So I suggest reading Damaged 1 and 2 if you haven't already...
Read it and Loved it!!! I'm so hooked on this family. Can't wait till book 9. Please let it be the last cause my hearts breaks every time Avery gets her heart broken:(
Avery finds herself trying to put the pieces back together again. Sean's declaration about his plans throws Avery into a rage. She thought that they were finally making progress toward a happy relationship. But Sean just doesn't seem to understand that Avery has had her priorities set for her education. And it seems that everything in her life is spiraling out-of-control once more. When Avery goes to meet a new client who has asked for her by name, she receives a shock she never could have imagined.
I gave 4 stars to the first "Book" and 1 star to the rest (so far) of the series. The story is really good in this tortured/damaged hero genre. The characters are likable and coherent, The sex scenes are steamy and not too skeevy, the writing is great with a few genius strokes here and there and a delicious humor. Overall 4.5 starts. BUT THIS IS NOT A BOOK, nor a "volume" and the series is not a "series": it's just an installment of a few chapters released bit by bit, not even a complete book, but with the price tag of a book. It was bad enough that more and more authors tend end books in a cliffhanger and spread their stories into several books, as if they don't believe in their on work and have to lure readers into buying the next book. A really good book is the one that ends but you want more. Wanting more of a "book" that didn't end is not big thing and no author should be aiming to that. This 'Series' is like going to a restaurant, order a 3 course meal and after the salad having the chef tell you, "sorry, I din't cook the rest come back next week" and just them charge for the whole meals each time you take a bite.
I was so disappointed in this series and I wonder if Ms. Ward reads her reviews. You took a great story with rich well developed characters and a deeply moving subject and have pounded it into the ground. Even Hollywood has learned when not to make a sequel. If this series had been written in two, maybe three books than I would have easily given the stories a five star and posted links to my face book, twitter and good reads account. As it stands I am so frustrated with the author I'm not even sure now if I care how it ends let alone read anymore of her work. When I asked her when the series would be complete she told me she had not idea. The story was fan driven. My response was that she was driving her readers to want more by never ending the story. She will continue to write another book as long as we the readers demand it. At the price she charges per book and the lack of chapters a reader will easily have spent nearly $40.00 or more for her one story. Shame on you Ms. Ward!
idk what I'm missing but the book 8 didn't continue from the last book. Oh yeah I misunderstood too at the very first book. I think call girl is an operator turns out it is not.
my friends give this book actually a little high rating, obviously we read the same book with different perception so the result could be different. this books made my weeks miserable and I did keep reading it, that's must be because of my masochist blood and my conscience to never dnf a books.
and I don't know what even worse.. the 22 volume or the ups down relationship. why would a romance need so much volume, obviously the heroine should get over it or do something and stop asking the future. and the relationship is hot in the beginning and ended cool in every volume.
the author maybe want to make a impressive dark romance colors with twisted personality but I can't feel that. if you compare with any of dark romance from Torre or colleen hoover or sordid this one is failing miserable (sorry to all this book fans).
2,5 star. adult content warning with a portion of bsdm.
La verdad es que no soporto a Avery. Se queja a cada momento de su patética vida y de todos los problemas que tiene, pero no hace nada para resolverlos. Otro libro aburrido de esta serie. Sólo en final me emocionó.
i love this series. but wth.. i thought it was the end already. :/ maybe my friend is right. She's writing an encyclopedia. can't wait for the next book.
WTF?! ***spoiler*** when did marty get enough moolah to hang w Avery? MAN this shits good. Too bad day time soap operas dont show all this good stuff. ;) Cant wait for the next.
Well I guess if you want to know what happened over dinner with Peter you're going to have to read the damaged series. The dinner scene takes place in damaged Book 2 chapters 16 through 18 . The rest of this book was very interesting. It got quite intense in the middle then mellowed out a bit but the ending was a big surprise. As if at this point you are expecting something big at the end of each book. I'm still a bit shocked by the turn of events in this particular book but we'll see what 9 brings.
This series is killing me!! I can't take the ever changing ways of Sean Ferro!! I mean, he's completely swoon worthy but I hate that I'm eight books in and he's still doing the yo-yo thing. Finally he admits he loves Avery, he doesn't want to share her, and he wants to buy her contract from Miss Black. He's feeling alive again because of Avery. That time they went sledding in the park was so sweet and so romantic. I thought here we go...they're going to finally get it right!!! Well HELL TO THE NO, that didn't happen.
I thought Avery would want what he was offering. No, she wants the Fairytale...hmmm again this reminded me of "Pretty Woman"
"I want everything. There is no in the middle, not for me. We can't date for a while and try things out because of my job. You know that. It's all or nothing."
Sean gets freaked by this ultimatum...UGH!!! I love this guy but damn he's a bit frustrating, It's obvious he is crazy in love with her, and I just don't get why he can say he loves her, he doesn't want her to be with anyone else, and he'll throw himself in front of a truck to save her, but he can't commit.
When I was a child, I pictured a guy that would come along and sweep me off my feet. He'd want to take care of me and make me smile. He'd want to be there for me on any terms he could get. Sean isn't that guy--he just isn't.
So on their last night together, he makes love to Avery. The kind that makes your heart burst from happiness but then can rip it to shreds when you know it is your very last time to be with each other.
But things are different here, with him, now. There's a connection between us, like we were made for each other. I feel it, something within me calls to him, wants him, needs him. It's like his name was written on my soul and he belongs to me, and in this moment he does. In this moment, Sean is mine.
I was so pissed off. Why didn't he fight for her?? I kept hoping he was going to show up and stop the date with Henry. Thank God for Gabe!!!!
Pete Ferro showing up at the end gives us hope, but I'm also with Avery. If Sean wants her. If he regrets letting this thing between them end, why the Fuck didn't he come for her??!!! I want Avery to get a break already. Someone needs to show her she's worth fighting for!!!!! I want Sean to fight for her instead of Avery always having to put herself out there!!!
So frustrating and yet I still love this series!!!!! Roll On Book 9!!!! :)
I love this series really I do, but there are times I wish we could have a conclusion. Don't get me wrong each installment isn't boring and the subject matter isn't the same but I'm the type of person that likes happy endings and with Sean and Avery well they're two people that just needs someone to fight for them. This installment takes off right after a scene that happened in 'Damaged 2' I was kinda bummed that we didn't actually get to see the scene unfold, I would have loved to have gotten Avery's thoughts on what went down, it's okay really, she let's Sean have it when they're alone, "you know exactly what you did down there! You knew what would happen before you even said it - I could see it on your face - so don't you dare lie to me now, and act like you have no idea why I'm mad. And, I swear to God, if you blame it on PMS, I will cut you." Sean I know the boy is damaged beyond repair but really your offer is kinda a**holey, "you thought what? You thought that I'd be happy to be your live-in call girl? You thought that I'd be flattered that you offered to buy me?" Sometimes I really don't know what in the hell is in that boy's head, however I do know that he does care for Avery his a** just goes about showing her the wrong way. Unless of course it's in the bedroom hehe, "I'm going to make love to you, Avery. You are going to be so sated that you'll never be able to have sex again without thinking about this night. I promise you that." Um, great promise Sean but lately they kinda mean s***, of course though this is one promise he does keep, "you can. Trust me, baby. I'll take care of you. Let go, let everything else fade away." At this particular point I think Avery is just dumb for not taking up his offer on being his mistress. If you read 'Damaged 2' then you realize that there's gonna be not a lot of Sean in this book, but Mel the good bff she is has many heart to hearts with Avery, "I'm sorry I took you to Black. I screwed up, Avery. And that's the last I'm going to say about that, because no matter what we do, we can't change that. Not now. So, I'll help you out and be Ms. Supportive, no matter what crazy crap you decide." I just think this series needs an ending all these cliffhangers (though this one no so bad) are kinda getting to me, and it's making me want to pull out my damn hair.
NOOOOO!!! Why must it end!?!?! *Sigh* Once again H.M. Ward is messing with my fragile emotions with yet another jaw dropping cliffhanger. Oh the agony!
It’s Sean and Avery’s last night together. While Sean offered Avery the title of permanent call girl Avery had to accept for her pride and her wellbeing for if Sean ever left Avery would once again be on her own with nothing to show for herself. To end their night together Sean makes love to Avery which I was like “whoa! Sean is being very swoon worthy right now!” Seriously after reading about him in Damaged 2 I totally see him as a giant butt head. I mean I never thought he was a peach but I didn’t think he was an ass…he totally is though!! Anyway when Avery goes to work the next day with Henry he surprises her with anger and she’s forced to leave while Gabe takes care of him. Now on call for another job the next weekend Avery doesn’t know what to do or feel and with Sean gone Avery just feels lonelier and lonelier (8() When Peter shows up to tell her to go after Sean Avery doesn’t believe her ears. After deciding not to go after Sean Avery goes to her appointment and gets the shock of her life….or at least of the day.
I have to say Arrangement #8 felt a whole lot like a filler which I could care less because the humor and great writing by H.M. Ward made the whole experience enjoyable. I loved the IHOP scene where I was seriously wishing I had friends like Avery’s and that the guy had said yes because I have to wonder what Mel would have done then…oh well the mysteries I will never know. I also loved the scene with Peter and I have to wonder what would have happened if Avery had brought those antique guns with her since I now know the identity of Avery’s new client. All in all, another amazing edition to The Arrangment Series and I highly suggest everyone pick of their copies of this amazing series so they can join in! Oh Oh and there was a mention of Trystan Scott which totally blew my mind because I was like “OMG I READ THAT! I KNOW WHO THAT IS!!!WOWZA!!” Okay so yeah pick up this series asap! Seriously!!
Okay, still hanging onto this...Though I'm close to throwing in the towel.... MARTY? MARTY? REALLY? When I read that last part...I just...
AND...Peter....
And...Sean's left!
Not sure if it came out in the last one that Marty was straight, but I forgot to mention my shock for that in the last review....
And Henry's this perv old bastard who gets kicks outta chasin Sean's women?
Hold on Mrs. Ward....I need time to process all of this before I make an EDUCATED decision as to whether I should go to Arrangement 9 or not. This might not be healthy for me...O_O I don't like this path your leading me down....There's only 2 more Ebooks after this and then what? I'll be one of those women who wait for the next one?
I need time...Girl I just don't know...My mind is telling me to back up outta this and move onto a full novel instead of waiting like the rest of these women....
I'm secretly hoping I won't finish Arrangement 9...That way I can say I STOPPED ON MY OWN ACCORD.
Love H.M. Ward and this series but I'm getting frustrated with the short books. She needs to tie it up in one book and finish this series. Having to wait so long for my next fix is just miserable.
Sean not being present in most of this story. Henry turning out to be psycho because of a woman from Sean and his past.
I knew Marty was going to be her customer. He's trying to find a way to turn things in his favor make Avery feel something for him. So, now we have wait to see how that will play out. Even though us readers know Sean and Avery will end up together it will be interesting to see what Marty does.
I do love how Ms. Ward intertwined the Ferro brothers in her series. It seems that Sean and Avery are a bit different characters in Damaged. As, Sean seems mean and a ass hat as Avery seems she is riding with major self confidence and in this series they are just the opposite.
I love the characters and the story line. Like all good things...they must come to an end. So, I am hoping that Ms. Ward finishes this series in one more book with lots and lots of pages.
It hurts my heart to say this but I was completely disappointed in this part of the series.....There were hardly any scenes with Sean and Avery in them which would have been fine if they were seperatly working out how to be together but they were not....Sean was not even in this book, ok so he gave Avery the best sex of her life in the first few pages only to tell her good bye...Then no more Sean just Avery getting thrashed about by Black and then Henry...And the ending!!! What???? Marty should not even have the option of getting Avery...This book has been based on Sean and Avery's relationship since the beginning and it should end with them, happy!!! I am more than ready for this story to wrap up with Sean learning something about himself and their relationship as well as Avery learning the same....HM Ward I love your writing but sadly this one just didn't do it for me....I think your readers as a whole would be grateful for an ending with the 9th book, a longer book even if we have to wait longer this time...It will be worth it!!
I mainly bought these because I was curious as to how this author got to be a NY Times and Amazon best selling author. I'm still trying to figure it out. At the beginning it seemed like a mildly intriguing (although hardly original) story but it went on and on and over and over the same ground. Plus it had terrible grammar & typo's all over the place, and some of the most shocking clangers I have ever seen ("... the matching earrings she had bought to match the necklace ..." Hello?). All of that could have possibly been forgiven if there was some decent sex in the book, but no - that was terrible or non-existent too. Felt completely ripped off after buying 9 of these, and I will never buy any more books by this author. The only reason I even gave this two stars is for the sheer cheek of the author - a good lesson in clever marketing.
Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and can I just say I did not see this coming! I love how the books are all intertwining and we get to see snippets of each character in each one. This book ended on quite a twist and with Sean out of the picture, I really hope he comes to his senses. I do have to say that even though Marty has came clean and confessed his love for Avery I still find him to be quite a camp character. I think Avery may follow Sean after all in vol 9 but with so many twists and turns so far anything is impossible. Another great read from H.M Ward and twiddling my thumbs already for the next instalment :)
I didn't understand this book because apparently to understand book 8, I have to read the two Damaged books before hand. Does that make sense? A reader needs to read another series in order to understand? I'm undecided whether or not to do that. Reviews for Damaged look good, but I don't know if I want to devote so much time for one series. This is book 8 and it never seems to end. The series started out really good, but the storyline is now frustrating and to me it just feels like a filler book with a completely predictable yet again cliff hanger.
Ugh. Please, give me the strength not to fall for these damn novella installment disasters again! I can't handle it. I just read 5-8 today and now I want to cut a bitch just to get my hands on #9!
LOVED the Sidney/Peter cameos! EEK! That was awesomesauce! I even went back to Damaged 2 and read the scene again. Sooo good.
Ugh. I love this effed up tale, but this whole installment business is about to drive me over the edge...wait, is HM doing this to help the reader understand how cray crazy Sean is? I bet that's it!
WTH????....Now HOLD THE FREAKIN' FRONT DOOR!!!....What just happened??...How can she keep leavin us hanging like this??...Forget about taking a lil' sample of this yummy cake..I just dropped the fork that slipped from my greedy lil fingers..I want to stop this torture and finally get to the end of this story...
Ok..seriously..how many more installments is this lady going for to finish Sean's story??..Now she mixing in all the brothers..so u know what that means...Now I HAVE to read the others...its MANDATORY now!!..Ugghhh she has to stop this!!..;)
