Even though her father is running for President of the United States, Grace St. Claire is as normal a girl as they come. She’s clumsy, shy, and an outcast among her peers. She even manages to nearly die in a freak accident in front of the entire school. But when Grace survives a vampire attack she quickly learns that she is anything but ordinary.

There’s something about human Grace that has all the supernaturals around her going crazy. Her best friend’s brother suddenly wants to date her. Her worst enemy has sworn to protect her even against her wishes. Someone with very powerful magic wants her dead, and the vampire that attacked her has developed an obsession with making her his eternal mate.

In order to survive—and not as Count Dracula’s undead bride—Grace dives head first into the terrifying world of the supernatural. She teams up with a charming but mysterious warlock who strolled into town causing trouble and spouting stories of a Prophesy and Chosen One that looks exactly like Grace. Together they must figure out why Grace is different, who wants her dead, how she’s connected to the Chosen One, and who they can really trust.

I have a soft spot for little Gracie the klutz!

It was weird at first because it's been so long since I read the first book and the whole time I was like, Is this a new character or somebody we know from the last book whom I don't remember??

Grace's dad is a pompous patoot hole.
Also, I really didn't feel anything between her and Preston. I don't know why that was even in there. He was nice and all but there was so little development there, and then suddenly they were like let's date.

Also, I wished we got to know a little bit more about Grace's mother. I felt like it should have been a more significant situation.

It was so addicting!! Luckily, I had the next book prepared for me to jump right into it after finishing this one.

how I felt finishing this

*giggles* but seriously. What the hell. GIVE ME MORE. AND GIVE TO ME NOW.

First Warning: This is a second in a series but deals with characters from a very different part of the world, though one of my FAVES from book one shows up *does a little dance* And I don't think there will be a lot of spoilers for book one in this review, but just in case <3

Song Choice: "Don't Find Another Love" by Tegan and Sara, "Drunk Again" by Reel Big Fish, "The Once Happy Heart" by Belle Mare

First thoughts: So I really liked book one and when i found out that this one was dealing with a whole new set of characters I was like...huh? After reading a page though I was hooked. I have a soft spot, aka LOVE, clumsy, witty, funny MCs and I think that is what really hooked me at first but this was so cool filled with a lot of action, a lot of mystery, ALOT, ALOT of hot guys....I mean.. no I really mean that. Seriously I stayed up until 2am trying to finish this but eventually I had to give up unfortunately, only to wake up, roll over grab Kale (kindle) and start again XD So yeah I was a little in love with this.

Kay thoughts on Plot: I already said this but it was fulled with a lot of action and a lot of mystery. There was a lot going on in this novel and I highly recommend reading book one before even thinking about starting this because quite frankly, we are thrown into the paranormal world fairly quickly and things just really just go go go. I really enjoyed the pace of this book, I swear to God i was addicted to this book. I didn't want to put down for anything. I mean really who NEEDS to eat, go to the bathroom or function outside of books? I think you can all agree on that one ;) Anyways so this was really cool, I really liked how we started off pretty quickly, and there was a lot of unknowns for awhile. There was a lot of betrayals in this book, at lot of highs and lows, which I think worked really freaking well with the over all idea of the novel and what with one of the main things... that I can't talk about ;) spoilers. Anyways so I really love the overall interactions between the characters and the overall problems that were dealt in this book. I felt the bigger issues were lightly touched on which helped develop the idea of this series, and while this book was learning more about Grace and how she acted, it was nice to see her on her own, and I cannot wait to see where this series goes. SO DAMN EXCITED.

Characters:

So my beef really with this book has to deal with the relationships between characters, they were really hard for me to try to figure out, unfortunately Gracie seemed a little wishy-washy at times so it was hard to tell how she really felt about people, there was supposed to be a lot of hate between her and Ethan that sometimes I just wasn't feeling. Other times I just KNEW they would end up together but then not either....(I am not giving away anything i swear you will have to read to figure out what craziness i am talking about XD) anyways... on to the characters themselves, there were quite a few in this book.

Gracie: As I mentioned earlier I have a very softspot for uncoordiated, clumsy, witty MC, I don't know why I just LOVE THEM, and Gracie was no exception. I honestly fell in love with her as our main gal right away, she was such a compassionate person, but I can see where some people might become annoyed with her, she was overtly nice, and since I am the same way I can relate so I didn't care. She really put everyone above her own needs which to me makes her kickass, and amazing. I love how much she cared, and how much she really felt, it seems most authors want to stay away from the MCs that really FEEL to much *cough cough tears* but it was a nice change and I really, seriously, truly loved Gracie there is no way around it. I really just connected with her, I felt for her every moment, I was always rooting for Gracie.

Ethan: *narrows eyes* Its hard to explain how I feel about him since the book was told from Gracie's POV, she "hated him" though i am not completely convinced of that. For most of the book he was just a bit of an asshole to be perfectly honest, he wasn't nice to Gracie, he was entitled and none of this is in the sexy, oh he is just brooding, dangerous male sort of thing, he just was. I didn't really start to care for him until about the last half of the book and even then i felt that I don't know... I trusted him but that is about all i felt for him, then i felt sort of sad for him at the end... anyways...

Russ: YEAH RUSS IS BACK!!! he was one of my favorite characters from book one and I was super pleased that he was back, and wow what an entrance! While Russ was, Russ-like most times he took him a bit to get there, and he is different from book one, he has grown, and he is a bit more bitter than before. It broke my heart when I realized though I don't think he will ever give up Dani. *heavy sigh*

Preston: HOLY HOT WEREWOLF. That's all you need to know.

Cynthia: I hope to see more of her i really do. I think she really truly was one person the book that cared about Gracie.

That ending: FUDGE-R-RONI, I AM PISSED. GIVE ME MORE. NOW NOW NOW
seriously.
now.
thanks.

Nephilim, Vampires, Werewolves

Gracie aka Disgrace, a 'special', yet clumsy high schooler, and daughter of the president has the knack for drawing supernaturals to her. Ethan, a half human-half angel is her reluctant protector. Andrew, the head of the vampire clan is obsessed with her, and is determined to make her his mate. Unknown to Gracie, Cynthia, her best friend is a werewolf. Worse of all, Gracie' s life is in danger.
I love Kelly Oram's books, but this is my least favorite. The MC is super annoying. She is attracted to every single guy in her life, and got one of them killed for it. She is impulsive, spoiled and sure knows how to hold grudges especially against her so called protector. As for her relationship with Ethan, complicated doesn't even seem to describe it well. This series isn't for me.

4 stars -- I am so confused you guys. I honestly don't know what to think. And I can't even really tell you guys all of what has me confused without giving away major spoilers!!! Let's just say that I was left unfulfilled by this book when it finally ended, and since the next book is from someone else's POV, how I am I supposed to get my fulfillment??

Honestly guys, this book was heading in 5 star direction. I was just all over Grace like a fat kid on a smartie. I'm sure not every reader is going to love her, but she was the embodiment of the kinds of characters that draw me in. Shy, somewhat insecure, clumsy, but with a bit of fire to her, and OMG all the emotions. I felt for her from moment one, and loved being in her head. I know she's a bit of a basketcase, but I could relate to some of the things she was feeling (even though my life is nothing like hers), so I just felt super attached to her. I loved the bits of growth that we got to see with her too -- even if the price she paid was pretty steep at times. I LOVED learning about her unique role in the supernatural world. Very intriguing idea, and I'm curious to see how it will play out in future books.

I also loved learning about the Nephilim, and Ethan, and the uniqueness that is him. I honestly wasn't sure what to feel about Ethan a lot of the time. He had moments of epic douchbaggery, but he grew on me as the book went on. I'm still confused about his relationship with Grace. I just don't know what to feel on that anymore. I didn't get all the hate. I mean, I got it initially, but I didn't get how it lasted, or really understand how that relationship changed and what exactly happened there. It's like I was with it, I was with it, and then I lost it.

The whole "everyone loves Grace" thing could probably get really annoying for some readers, but it didn't bother me too much. For some reason I hate love triangles more than love septagons. :P I enjoyed the different relationships she developed, though I don't quite see the point in all of them.

(There MAY be spoilers next if you haven't read book 1, so I would recommend skipping the rest if you plan on starting the series...surprises are just more fun)

And then there's Russ. I fell back in love with Russ in this book. He was hilarious, and a little less dickish, and I started to really feel for him again. Can't wait to see his book next since I started reading the sneak peek at the back of this book, and being in his head looks like fun. He's such a unique guy.

Andrew was ridiculously frightening and the perfect bad guy b/c he wasn't 100% evil. Very scary.

And so we come to the end. And confusion. Seriously, I just asked my husband "what is shy thinking?? I DON'T UNDERSTAND?!!!" If I were getting another Grace book, I would totally get it. But I'm not. :( And thus this book gets 4 stars instead of 5. And I am now desperate to start book 3, and I honestly have no idea what's going to happen next. I feel like the very ground I am walking on has shifted and I no longer know what to expect. So lost.... So confused....

No. Es imposible. O sea...

HORRIBLE.

¿Lo peor? QUE NO HAY FECHA NI NADA PARA EL SIGUIENTE LIBRO, ME MUERO D:

To make things clear I have to go back a little to the first book, Chameleon (spn #1) have it all from weres and vamps, witches, wizards to seers and nephilims, I believe all books this kind r a bit similar, not many new ideas and kinda of already-heard-it-all type of plot, chameleon was no different, it is about this Danielle girl a normal trouble maker teenager who enters the supernatural world because of her best friend and before u know it, she has it all! From kickass abilities to major important people want her, really same old same old, but if u can ignore the cheesy plot u can totally enjoy the characters, I definitely fell in love with everyone even in the love triangle I couldn't confirm my pick, smart conversations and sassy replies are the book's best qualities u can't put it down, when I finished it, I immediately started the second book, the big shock was I haven't found Dani, or Russ, or Gabe, it was about Grace, a normal human girl with bad social life totally pathetic comparing to full-of-life Dani, u would think the author got hits in her brain for a big brave move like that changing the characters but it was pure genius, it just added so much to the story u got to see another point of view in the supernatural world, the human one, I loved Ungifted even more it was more realistic, my fav part where characters from the first book cross roads with the new ones, it was exciting, the story is not finished and I can't wait to read Scion!

kelly oram books are just so compulsively readable. i have a hard time putting them down even when i know i should be a responsible adult and go to sleep. well sleep will have to wait (and that's saying a lot coming from me because i love me some sleep).

this level of discovery, this added fullness to this world oram has created, of the resistance and other players besides the consulate, of nephilim warriors and wolf packs, centuries-old vampires and high warlocks, of blood feuds and complicated histories, all seen through the eyes of a human girl who is inexplicably linked to it all. i ate it all up. licked the plate clean.

yay for a new cast of characters (and one familiar face) who are awesome in their own right. i grew to love gracie even though she's annoying at times - i guess her daddy issues give her a pass. ethan takes some warming up to. russ makes a reappearance and of course has to cause some trouble. i absolutely loved cynthia. she's a true friend if there ever was one. heck i even liked caleb even though i'm kinda annoyed with him. oh preston. my heart hurts. quite possibly the only one to truly understand grace and her position in life and then... sigh.

the overarching storyline of this series seems to be building to a really crazy climax, can't wait for the next book!

This is my go to easy read series perfect for getting me out of a reading slump - I cannot believe more people haven't read them!

I was initially worried that this wasn't going to live up to the first book as I loved Dani so much - but I really enjoyed Graces story - all the supporting characters were fab and YAY Russ is back!!

I just started this book...and while i am only about 300 pages in, i got anxious because i didnt really know or like where the story was going, so i had to skip to the end to find out what happened.

I have not read book 1, just because i wasnt aware, or forgot, that there was a book 1 and there will be a book 3 and 4. That makes it even less appealing to read.

I only started to read this because I like Kelly Oram as an author and I enjoyed her v is for virgin/a is for abstinence, and being jamie baker series(i spoke to soon..i havent even finished book one of baker series..)

I have to say when i started this, it took a turn..for the worst. I hate clumsy characters. Rule number one of my protags, never act like Bella Swan or you get thrown in a swamp. Unfortunately, she is totally clumsy. And her powers arent even that great. I mean, sure she can make it useful, but i have to say her sister, being her yang to her ying, is much cooler. Aside from my hate for her patheticness(i guess ethan said something right!), i was just ok with her.

What else bothered me:
The love interests. There were too many! The best friends brothers(like 2 of them), ethan, andrew, and russ...im guessing it adds on to this later.

Ethan: annoying, btching, fcking prick. IF she ends up with him--wait--let me put this another way: im going to read the very last few pages of the last book, if she ends up with him, i will ditch all books.

Ethans famouse quote that just sums up his assholeness:
"You think you're better than Grace, though, because she's human."

"I am!" he hissed. "And so are you! All supernaturals are better than humans, Cynthia-it's just fact. It's disgusting that you-especially you-choose to hang out with her above your own kind. Your friendship with Grace is a slap in the face to your pack."

"If you hate her so much, then why do you do it?" she asked. "Why do you constantly come to her rescue? If Grace is so beneath my friendship, then why isn't she below your protection?"

"She should be!" Ethan spat. "She's a filthy human, and the most pathetic one I've ever seen on top of it. She deserves her nickname. She is a disgrace!"

---
Caleb: he was just ok. Too pushy. but ok.
Russ: dont know enough about him, but he seems well enough. I would not mind her ending up with her.
Andrew: this guy doesnt know what no means? Well, i told you love is evol(hehe), i mean, it got him (SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR: k----d<--fill in the blanks)

and PRESTON: he was actually my favorite love interest. And guess what happened to him? Yeah, nothing pleasant. Honestly, i pretty much felt so betrayed with that end, that i sorta have decided that im not even going to finish the whole book. Thats how depressed i was with the end result. I really liked him as a character. HE shouldve been the half angel. Life just isnt fair.
---
Her father: what a freakin prickkkkkkkk. Nuff said. Dont care, but after he slapped her hard across the face and acted like nothing had happened, it was over. Hes dead to me.

Her best friend, cynthia or whatever: she betrays her with Ethan, and she keeps trying to force these 2 unlikely people together. after that, she just didnt seem like a best friend, but more like the annoying mother who keeps interfering with her daughters life. Unliked!

I just expected more/better from Kelly, and i feel let down. Also, the whole beginning was completely unbelievable. Her "breaking down" and her prescription was completely over dramatized. She was acting nicer than 99% of teens her age. She had a right to go crazy and let out some of her frustrations, but does not deem it necessary to have depression meds. Honestly, how did that psychiatrist or therapist or whatever get his job? She could easily have gotten him fired if she said he was not doing his job, but trying to use me to get a job in the white house. Assuming that the famous rich private school acting like one, they would fire his sorry ass in seconds and get someone more competent. Another thing: the punk ass ethan decided to take it upon himself to decide whether grace needed to take the meds or not?wtf!also, he should feel completely ashamed for putting her in such a position as to get hit by her father!! if her father is acting like that to his daughter, honestly, ill be damned worried if he becomes the prez.

oh and the funniest part of the book: how they were so surprised that she "didnt go all crazy" when she found out they were supernatural beings. Honestly, what century is this taking place in? Because i can assure u, from 21th century onward, the whole idea of supernaturals is exciting. It would not be 1 out of a thousand people not freaking out and going to mental institutes. It would be 990 out of 1,000 who didnt panic. Again, another thing i really didnt believe and found comical and pathetic. (Please, someone tell me about your supernatural powers, i would not freak out, id be effing excited as fck!!!!!!!!!)

Also, another that bothered me was why cynthia and her brothers attended the same private school. Dont werewolves normally go to public schools and you know..try to blend in? Private schools is not the way to go. and where did the dad get the money? Maybe if i cared enough, id read the book and perhaps get these questions answered..oh well.

--------------------------------

These are the only things i came across before i decided to ditch the book. maybe in my far future, when im bored out of my life and somehow decide to choose this book as one of the long list of abandoned books to finish, ill see if i change my mind about anything, but for now, im being nice giving it a 3.

so while i read less than 4/10 of the book, i still got enough of the gist of the characters that i knew i had to let it go. This doesnt mean im not going to read any of Kellys books, just not this series.

4.5 Stars!!

This book was just a whirlwind of emotions. I was both disappointed and excited for this book. Why you ask? Well the disappointment started when I learned I wasn't getting anymore of Dani & Gabriel (that's what I was going for in this novel). After the first chapter I got excited because I just loved how Mrs. Oram narrated the novel.

That was just the start of the emotional roller coaster. I was changing teams faster then I turned pages. This wasn't a Love-Triangle, it was more of a Love-Pentagon. The problem got to be so frustrating that 50% into the novel I decided I was Switzerland.

Grace was the ultimate klutz, but she was also nice and a very good person all around when you took the time to actually get to know her.

"I'm socially incompetent and so clumsy I'm practically handicapped."

She was also bullied and called DesGrace (which made me LOL). Another trait, that was quite annoying, was her being SO emotional. After you discover what she really is you understand the why of that and Ethan coming into her life. But, until that happens you're left with a confused, in-love-with-everyone girl (which isn't as exciting as it sounds). Personally, I found her to be a slut (sorry for the language, but what other word out there describes a girl who goes around kissing every guy in her path? If you find one, please help me and comment below).

One other thing/person that I wanted to maim in this novel was Russ. I've hated him and his attitude since Book 1 with Dani ♡ Gabriel. So I got very pissed off when I discovered he was part of the Love-Pentagon. Was I the only one who saw that he only wanted Grace because of... I'm sorry, I can't finish that sentence. It's a spoiler. I won't ruin this book C:

Preston was nice. Though what happened to him in the end was not fair to him. He had such a hard life. He was also a good person, respected others and NEVER did ANYTHING to Grace. Unlike Caleb, but let's leave that on the down low. It was just sad. I was actually almost siding with him on the Love-Pentagon.

Andrew. He escaped death so MANY times. How you ask? Well, the answer consists of one word. The person: Grace. If it weren't for her conscience half this book wouldn't have happened and by that I mean I wouldn't have been sent on the emotion roller coaster of my life!

"His depth and delusion never ceased to amaze me."

Eventually, more like by chapter 28 into the novel, I finally decided on a Team. Ethan!! After he got over Grace and the why's and how's of it all he was actually a VERY nice, sensitive, charming guy and his good looks only adds to all that. I seriously hope Grace accepts his oath (& I want to read that scene Mrs. Oram....Pretty please? hehe).

Favorite Quotes:

"Well, unfortunately my life is not a teen romance novel. Ethan Dunn is no Edward Cullen. He's quite the arrogant prick, actually. And not in an endearing Jace Wayland kind of way."

*I LOL'ed at the references XD

"Loneliness, despair, anger, regret...Your heart can soar, but it will just as often break."

"'If you really need to see some impressive abs that badly, I'll take my shirt off for you.'
'Oh, please.'
'No, really. I'll even let you feel them. That's like Twilight in 3D.'"

What a addictive and enchanting book.. After all that Russ has been through I hope he gets the girl soon. Especially if it is Grace. She is good for him and he for her. I understand her thing about Preston but her and Russ would be wonderful together and people already think they are. After all that happened with Dani and his dad, Russ so deserves some peace and happiness. Please please let this be his with Grace soon.

This book is a interesting twist from the first book in the series. There we say more love, betrayal and action. Here we see more plot twists, acceptance and plotting of others. People find out who they are, accept others, become at peace with things and see what people are about. There is some wonderful action in here as well.

We see Grace who all think is weak, except Russ he didn't think that at first and Preston sees her differently as well. So Does Alex deLaCote. Although he is obsessed with her and goes truly mad for her, he still is a caring man. Grace sees this in the end as well. I felt for him because he didn't know what to do. He was a caring guy and was kind but his love for Grace brought him to the brink. Poor dude. Well that and the vampire thing not a good deal.

Here Oram sets up a love quadrangle. What a quadrangle it is. We have Preston the scary alpha werewolf who sees Grace for who she is brave and beautiful, Caleb who is a pawn but some fun comic relief and the brother of Preston, Alex the vampire who is fascinated by Grace for reasons no one can fathom, and Russ the one I am pulling for, the powerful warlock who the resistance and the council want on their side to train and work with. Russ and Grace have a pull to each other could be her connection to Dani but I agree with Duncan (love this quirky vampire) and think it is more and that they are good for each other.

Preston has a tragic ending but shows valiance and kindness to the end. Caleb well lets just say what a doof and Alex poor poor vampire. Russ go boo!

So Grace is trying to figure out her life, Recently she feels lost and her dad is in a election for presidency. Someone is trying to kill her and Ethan, whom she doesn't like is constantly saving her. Ethan is wonderful, snarky and arrogant but so sweet and lost. His role is big and I am hoping to see where it leads them. I was so happy to see his dad take him and Russ under his wing. Russ needs that for all he wants is to belong and feel wanted somewhere without motives. Ethan and Grace do this for him. Anywhoo Ethan becomes her bodyguard and the adventure begins.

The snarky antics are wonderful to see and Grace's best friend is fun as well. But Russ is the true comic relief, more of him was needed.

As Grace is dealing with her friends being supernatural, her being someone different, her dad's election, her love life and someone trying to kill her, she also has to accept her important role she agreed to years ago.

A wonderful read with lots of adventure, fun and just a great overall book. I look forward to the next and hopefully we will see Russ and Grace's relationship mature, Ethan and Grace accept each other more and Russ come to terms with his Dad who is truly remorseful and wants his son back in his life.

I actually liked this book much more than I liked the first. I found I could relate and sympathize with Grace much more than I could with Dani. I just liked her character so much more, and I found her pretty intriguing with what her ability was.

One thing I found interesting also about this book was how many potential love interests Grace actually had throughout the book. Normally I absolutely hate love triangles, but when she had upwards of 5 or 6? It was kind of hilarious. My only huge issue lies with Ethan. He continually came to Grace's rescue through situation after situation, but after hearing this conversation between him and Grace's best friend Cynthia, I just could not get over him after it was all said and done.

"You think you're better than Grace, though, because she's human."

"I am!" he hissed. "And so are you! All supernaturals are better than humans, Cynthia-it's just fact. It's digusting that you-especially you-choose to hang out with her above your own kind.

Throughout the book, Ethan calls her pathetic and disgusting and awful more times than I can count. When Grace is in complete emotional turmoil he is never there for her. It isn't until later in the book when a revelation is made to him that he changes his tune. This revelation leads me to believe that these two will end up together in the end, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to really accept it unless Ethan does a lot more than he has through this book to actually prove himself. By the end he was making some head way, but he still has a long way to go in my book. He was just horrible to her.

Other than his attitude though, I really enjoyed this story. It was fun, it was compelling, and it kept me reading until the last page. I just wish I would have known that there are supposed to be TWO more books in this series or I would have put off reading it until they were out. It was a good second book though and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

The Story-
Grace St. Claire is the daughter of the future President of America. She is a normal, shy girl who is always getting into accidents. When these accidents become near fatal, Claire finally takes notice, and so does Ethan, a handsome high school hunk. Ethan can't figure out why he is drawn to Claire or why he has a desire to protect her.

Then, a vampire becomes aware of her, and her ability to resist him feeds his desire to possess her. Ethan has his work cut out for him, especially when he is unable to deny the supernatural world that exists around them, what, with him being nephillium and Claire's best friend a werewolf. Plus, Russ, a warlock, has rolled into town and is also drawn straight to Claire. Soon prophesies and destiny join the mix, and Claire's vampire admirer decides to claim her no matter what. Her friends try to protect her, but who can they trust?

My Thoughts-
Ah, a great series. I bought book one, Chameleon, and book two, Ungifted, at the same time. Sure glad I did, because I inhaled both. I love fantasy and paranormal and this series is full of them both. I enjoyed all of the supernatural characters that roam this story, and the fact that Claire is a human that is able to resist them all, is priceless.

The plot is strong and filled with tension. It is also distinct from book one, but tied closely to it, with Russ being a linking character. I found Russ's agony at being away from Dani to be painful. The author does a great job with emotions and allowing the reader to feel the character's angst. Grace, as ungifted, is the only one that can help Russ with his pain. Thus a great dynamic is set up with Grace, Ethan and Russ as pivotal characters. Ethan, who is attracted to Grace, but also repelled by her humanness, and Russ, who needs Grace to eliminate his pain, but also finds her attractive (an exact twin of his former love). Poor Grace, who has all these strong males attracted to her, including her best friend's werewolf brothers, and who just wants to be left alone.

The story line and romance puzzle will grab the reader and have them earning for book 3, Scion, which just came out! I'm in the middle of reading it right now! 5 stars!

Just finished reading ungifted by kelly oram now and I decided to write my review before I forget how I'm feeling right now. To say I don't really know how I feel right now is an understatement. I would have given this book a five star rating if not for my mixed feelings. It started out on a good note, we were introduced to the ungifted one,Grace. She was the opposite of Dani in virtually everything but was still lovable. Then there was Ethan, her guardian angel(and their bond reminded me of VA) who was uptight at first and really annoying. But I later loved him cos he was always there for Grace. Then there's Dani's Russ, still heart broken over losing her.(While I'm still on team Gabe, I kinda loved Russ more in this book). I kept hoping he'd fall for grace but I guess we'll find out later. And Cynthia was a good BFF (even though I was angry over the betrayal she was still cool to me). While reading the book, I kept hoping Dani would show up, but I guess its not yet time maybe sometime in the future. Ungifted kept me suspended at all atimes, and i pretty much felt all the emotions; happiness, sadness, frustration, annoyance and resignation. That pretty much sums up my feelings on this book. Hope the next one comes out soon and I hope Dani's in it (and maybe grace too).

I couldn't find the point to the story, maybe it was because I didn't read the first book. Don't read the first book first didn't bother me at all. I understood the story and everything, I just didn't enjoy it. It was easy to read but really boring sometimes. It was fine and I had a great time reading it but I guess it's not my type of book. 2 stars because it isn't a bad book and the story is very original, I have to admit, but I didn't really like it. In my opinion it was really short and maybe if it had had more action scenes or something it could have been different. I think it needed something, to make the story more interesting. It wasn't what I was expecting but it wasn't that bad either.

It was addictive all the way until I realized THE AUTHOR WASN'T GOING TO FINISH THE STORY!! She doesn't even let us read to see if Grace ends up with Ethan (though it probably will happen), just says that Grace will THINK about bonding with him. Like, what the heck? At least give me that! Don't jump to another character in the next book before we see what happens to them!! Before I gave this book 4 stars, but now realizing this I'm definitely dropping to three. It was a really good book with a good story but the story wasn't complete enough like the first one was. And I liked the second one better. I am so very disappointed in the author.

Hmmm, I kind of like the twist and turns this story brought to the series, but I'm really not a fan of love triangle or square or however many love interest Grace has in this book.

Also, kind of sad that Dani and Gabe did not even appear in this book.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

And I don't understand why they had to kill Preston. Plus Andrew's character should have not been in this book to begin with. He's unnecessary in the grand plot of everything.

Now, I have to wait another year to see what happens next :(

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

** him being my own personal superhero, and you’d think I’d be in love with him, right? This is the part where I should call him perfect and say that even though he is all of these amazing things, that somehow he’s miraculously still the nicest guy on the planet and totally crushworthy. Well, unfortunately my life is not a teen romance novel. Ethan Dunn is no Edward Cullen. He’s quite the arrogant prick, actually. And not in an endearing Jace Wayland kind of way.
I can’t stand the guy. Every time he comes to my rescue, I want to crawl into a hole and die. Today was no exception.**

Grace is a..... let's say klutz or clumsy, atleast it's better than the entire school chanting Disgrace when she walks on stage right. She's going to be the first daughter in a few days so she has to keep her cool but when stage lights target her our hero enters by swooping in literally and saving her life but he resents her for reasons unknown to her. But when you have a fixated vampire stalker it's never good news, Ethan is the only one who can save her but not unless she let's him in on what's going on her life.
He hates Grace because she's human and the Nephilim are proud creatures and him being bonded to a human makes it worse for him. He resents her so much that it shows out but him rescuing her every time she stumbles makes people think that he loves her but in a twisted way. He's never met his father and his clan has rejected him and his mother he's kind of the embodiment of resentments and hates the Creator's guts now but truth has a knack for making an appearance when we least expect it right he discovers many things about himself and Grace's destiny is bigger than what he'd actually thought for a "mere human."

Find out why they call her Ungifted and what her purpose is. You have a lot to read between the lines so start reading already I promise you won't regret reading it 💙

NOTE- I couldn't give you a proper review in fear of leaking out spoilers 😂 I loved this book so much it's kind of a wake up call for many characters. But trust me when I say it deserves all of the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐stars.

I loved the first book and all but the second book is where you get mesmerized. The word building is as always amazing with Kelly Oram 💙 and the humour is top notch. The characters are the best in Kelly's books because they make you want to pull your hair out and still understand what they do and why they do it. The plot is as twisty as it gets, but it is a sequel to the next book so Grace's story isn't complete read the next one to find out more!

📖Happy Reading📖

I read the first book of this series around 5 months ago, but I cannot really remember much of the details. I just remember the characters, and not liking it as much as I would have wanted. So I was pretty afraid to try this one out, but I’m glad that I did. I think that this was a definite improvement as compared to the first in the series, and I might just look forward to the next one. I don’t think it’s perfect though. I actually love-hate this book. Like in Chameleon, I soon started finding myself to hate the main character, which led to me not enjoying this book as much as I would have hoped.

Grace St. Claire, daughter of an American presidential candidate, is quite the unfortunate protagonist. It’s sad how Grace’s relationship with her father is so broken beyond repair, as her father obsesses over politics and leaves her feeling unwanted. Most people didn’t want anything to do with her unless they’re using her to get to her father. It was so easy for her to just be invisible and to fake her way through high school where most people call her “Dis-Grace.” It doesn’t help that she’s also really clumsy and attracts attention anyway. But when she turned 16, a lot of things changed for her starting with a murder attempt, and now the supernaturals are after her – each of them with their own intentions. Grace must fight the emotions that overwhelm her and fight to stay alive. Honestly, Grace was pleasant enough for the most part. It’s just her stupidity that leave me infuriated. A lot of bad things that happened were rooted from her poor behavior.

I think the supernatural I hated the most would have to be Andrew De La Cote, the vampire, mostly because he was evil. Antagonists are mostly meant to be hated, I guess. Andrew developed this obsession over Grace that made him insane. He resolved to threatening, blackmailing, kidnapping, and other heinous acts. He just wouldn’t take no for an answer. But what I really couldn’t condone was Grace’s actions about the matter. She wouldn’t tell others about the big threat he poses and she wouldn’t allow others to kill him or stop him. I honestly don’t understand this, and things just went spiraling down from there. It caused a world of hurt for many.

But this book isn’t full of unlikable people. Grace had Cynthia, a really great best friend, who isn’t perfect and has a dark secret, but who honestly cares about Grace. And there’s also Cynthia’s older brother, Preston, who understands what it’s like to be burdened with expectations and responsibilities being the soon-to-be-alpha of the werewolf pack. He has probably given Grace a relationship that is real and not based off of anything else. And there’s also Ethan who always comes to Grace’s rescue. Grace and Ethan actually hate each other a lot, and I honestly don’t know why Grace hates Ethan. As far as I see it, Ethan only acts arrogant and teases her. I’m not really sure what else is there to hate so I cannot accept how she acts towards Ethan, especially until the end. Ethan is actually a complicated character that I learned to love more once I got to know him and I hated how Grace couldn’t see that. She’s the narrator of the story and she gives the facts, yet she can’t see it for herself. It was annoying!

Ungifted was actually a totally different story from Chameleon as new people were introduced. Chameleon was Dani’s story while Ungifted is Grace’s story. It felt like both books were introductions to Dani and Grace, revealing their own purposes and personalities. Some questions I had for Chameleon were given answers in Ungifted, but I think that there is still so much more to find out. I must point out that I liked how the two books somehow intersected, despite not doing so completely.

I’m obsessed with Russ Devereaux to say the least. Was it weird that I knew it was him even before he introduced himself? And I totally squealed when he did. He was one of the few rays of sunshine in Chameleon, and he surely didn’t fail me in this book either. What can I say? Russ is just charming and funny. It’s definitely hard not to love him. A lot more was shown about his character, and he may be the main reason why I want to read the next books. I’d love to see how he develops as a warlock, and I’d surely love to know his unexplained connection to Grace. And I also loved the bromance.

It was also great to see Duncan Moore again. I loved him in Chameleon, and I didn’t know that he was so revered among the community. He’s one of the oldest supernaturals around, and he wants nothing but to help others. I think he gets conflicted with the higher ups and is forced to do things that aren’t so good, but he definitely cares for those who might need his help. He also provided much needed information to the story.

The romance in this book was pretty messed up; thus, it wasn’t even marked as a romance book. I don’t think it can even be considered as one with the way Grace got involved with so many different guys, yet never even really having anything serious to do with them. It’s quite hard to know what’s good or bad, especially since the supernaturals do not think or feel the same way as humans do. I think there could have been something, but it just wasn’t given. I keep on wondering how things will end up for Grace on this front. Also, I must warn people that there are inexplicable attractions going on in this series because supernaturals aren’t normal.

I loved the start of this book, and it gave me so much hope that this would be a really good read. But my enjoyment faltered somewhere along the middle, but it was still bearable. It just really went snowballing down near the end until it just crashed. I must say that this book was intriguing and amusing enough to finish from night until 8am in the morning. I loved how the connections were formed from Chameleon to Ungifted. I think what I hated about it was mostly Grace and the plot.

Somewhere near the end, it was just hard to put the smile back on my face. The way things turned out just annoyed me and made me hate Grace so much. I don’t know why, but the series books that Kelly Oram has written have fallen flat for me. I think it’s because she’s too intent in leading the books to the sequels, but it just leaves its readers frustrated rather than pining for the next one. That’s how I feel anyway. I loved all of Kelly Oram’s standalone books, and the only series book that I absolutely loved was Being Jamie Baker and she didn’t even write that with the intention of having a sequel.

**************************************************

OVERALL, Ungifted was a lot better than I expected it to be, but still not perfect. This book was still interlaced with Kelly Oram’s wit and humor that always provides great amusement. I also loved how Kelly made connections with the first book to the second even if the stories were on different sides of the big picture. Up to this book, I don’t really know what the big picture is, but I hope to see it in the upcoming sequel. Also, there were just some characters and developments that I really hated that hindered me from loving Ungifted. I think the ending fell a little flat for me. But there are a lot of characters that I simply loved or got to love once I knew more about them. I would definitely read the sequel. I just hope that there wouldn’t be another one after that sequel because I’m not really enjoying Kelly Oram’s writing when she does it with sequels in mind.

Oh my Russ... (Y ahora puedo decir Oh my Ethan también)

Esta serie va a acabar con mi vida. Es perfecta. Tiene de todo y todo es increíble. Los personajes de Kelly son... Dios, me encantan.

I think this book confused me even more than the first part... but in a good way, if that's even possible o_O love Kelly's writing but cannot unsee the plot holes here and there. Characters are somewhat better than in Chameleon but there is still much room for improvement. Nevertheless, I'm really curious and hopeful about the next part.

Fantastic

This one was great. I loved it. It is entertaining and every bit entrancing as the first book. I also happen to love the fact that it mentions my favorite TV show in the book.

Good story

Great story, hated the ending. It feels so ... like nothing has been resolved. I just hope the last book that is about a completely different character will tie up the loose ends.

This is the Kelly Oram I know and love. Great twists and turns, love that Russ is back in all his sarcastic glory, and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat.
