Rebel's Guide To Lenin

Rate this book
A pocket guide to the real Lenin, showing the complexities behind a man often vilified by historians. Ian Birchall guides the reader through an introductory analysis of Lenin's experiences and achievements, showing his methods and motivations in attempting to create a world in which production was to be for human need rather than profit.

Good, if short, read on Lenin and his actions pre, during and post-revolution. I'd have liked more detail in some areas, and the section regarding the concept of the 'Withering Away of the State' and its associated ideas were incorrectly attributed to Lenin, not Engels as they should be. Aside from that, great little read and quite eye opening for a book so brief.

This is the third book that I read from 'A Rebel's Guide to..' by Bookmark Publications. It was an interesting book but it seemed like the author was trying to prove their opinion on Lenin rather than inform peole about him. However the book got me interested in Lenin and I will read more on him because of this book.

A brief but well rounded introduction to the life, works and thought of Lenin. Thoroughly recommend to anybody.
