The story is about Ruby and Ford, best friends throughout university days. They were always very close but never close enough, beacause Ruby being scared of her feelings, always kept Ford at arm's length. That was until their last night together, when they shared the passionate kiss that ruined them both for others. The following day, Ford left to conquer the world and Ruby stayed in England. They lost touch for almost decade but couldn't forget about each other. Ford unexpectedly comes back to attend their best freinds' wedding and apparently old flame never dies....
I loved this one! It was sweet and sexy second chance, friends to lovers story. I never thought I would give 41 page novella 5 stars, but damn it was a good one. I don't know how author managed to do that, but I felt the connection between MCs, felt their feelings and passion. So if you're looking for some romance, steam and charming christmas story, try this one.
"I've seen some amazing things and been to some amazing places, but none of them have come close to feeling like home. They say 'good things come in small packages' and that saying could not be more true for this loved up, second chance at love novella. Kitty French is an instant one click author for me ever since she gave the reading world Lucien Knight of the Knight and play series. So with a healthy love of the author and her novella up to request on netgalley I was in one happy romance addict place. Here are my 'Wanderlust' book thoughts ...
What's it all about?
Ruby and Ford had developed the best kind of relationship during their university life. But when their feelings lead them to one night with the perfect kiss it ended in heart break for them both when Ford moves away to travel the world. Fast forward to a decade later with no contact between them and a mutual friends wedding forces Ford returns to England ... Find out what happens when these two loved up, separated hearts join together once more.
What did I love?
Kitty French without a doubt can write about a couples connection like no other. For such a short book I really felt thrown into Ruby and Ford's world. My heart was thumping and I was so wrapped up in the connection between the two that I forgot I was only reading this novella for under one hour. For me there is nothing more special than a friends to more story especially one that gets a big fat second chance romantically thrown at them. The description of the couple and how the author set the scene for their surroundings was nothing short of special. Yes, for me everything about this book was romantically charged and sizzling hot. Well done kitty French I adore your stories and I fell completely in love with this couple.

Just as a heads up if you have not yet met Lucien Knight from this author's Knight and Play series I'm telling you, you are missing out. As for this novella you already know I love it. If you need a short, romantic, sexy fix then look no further. Go grab it readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

No need to ask, Ford. Just do it! Wanderlust by Kitty French wraps my all-time favorite in love with your best friend and second chance romance tropes into one short but incredibly well done holiday themed novella.
Rudy has been in love with Ford since their days together at University but didn’t think he’d ever see her as more than a sister. As luck would have it, Ford has feelings for Ruby but doesn’t want to rock the boat and mess up the best friendship he’s ever had. That all changes when the two share an incredibly hot, life altering kiss the night before Ford gets on a plane and heads half way across the world for a new job. After years of unfulfilling personal relationships for both, what happens when the two are reunited for their friends’ wedding?
Wanderlust is a sweet and loving look at friends saying YES and finally giving into their feelings, at least physically. It works so well despite its novella length because the back story between Ruby and Ford is well developed and the fact that they both still care so deeply for one another is evident. This is so much more than the typical “let’s get naked and screw” steamy story I’m used to getting with this shorter length. When they finally get together, it’s more passionate and emotional rather than hot and freaky, and I mean that in the best possible way.
I loved this little Christmas themed novella and I highly recommend it for anyone who’s ever been in love with their best friend or wishes they had one more chance to take the leap and find out what happens if only. If only I’d have told him how I feel. If only he felt the same way. If only he’d jump me in the hallway and drag me up to his room! Hey, a girl’s gotta dream.

Friends too afraid to risk expressing their feelings even though they share a "Kiss" that will forever change them. This was a perfect little novella to snuggle up with. Kitty French can write wonderful stories and this one was perfect.

4 Enchanting Second-chance stars!
A cute, sexy holiday read about second chances at love. Ruby and Ford went to University together in England. Both graduating in hotel management, Ford professes his love to Ruby before hopping on a jet for sights unseen. Nothing holding him to England, he's lived the last 8 years with no roots, just adventure. Ruby, on other hand, stayed back to be near home and family.
When their mutual friend has a New Years Eve wedding at Ruby's English Inn, Ford returns and it's as if the past 8 years never existed. Everything has changed but nothing has changed for them. A night filled with passion, a wedding filled with love...but will this be good-bye again? Can her heart take losing Ford again?
A sweet, sexy friends-to-lovers holiday novella. A fair amount of steam and feel-good vibes.

This was such a cute steamy romance of second chances. I loved how the author was able to get so many emotions flowing through me in such a few pages. It was direct and to the point. There was no skirting around the issue when it came to Ruby and Ford. They waited 8 years from that hot kiss they shared before he left, why wait now? It was amazing the connection I felt to Ruby and Ford when they were falling back in love within a night and day.
Plus, I always love my Happily Ever Afters!!

Many years later Ford returns to come to their friends wedding unknown to Ford that its Ruby's hotel that she manages he's at but knowing they will bump into each other as they're both at their friends wedding, Will Ruby take a chance with Ford?
Their chemistry is there from go and they have that kiss again...

But he's due to go back and is Ruby left with a broken heart again?
This is a lovely Christmas Novella that will warm your heart, it made me giddy to want them happy, for that HEA that we all want. Even though this is only short it is sweet, it is like an early Christmas present and it is well written.
I now need to read Kitty's other books as I really loved this one!!

Wunderlust is a standalone Novella that really would have made for an amazing full length story. Ruby & Ford were best of friends and then one night they shared a kiss and then he was gone. Off to see the world, off to find peace while she stayed behind. Now eight years later he is returning for a mutual friend's wedding. Ruby knows that with his return comes heartache. Ever since that first and only kiss her heart has belonged to him. Now he's back, for at least one night. Ford never stopped thinking of the girl he left, but he knows that his heart has always been the kind to take flight. Searching for something, someplace. But seeing Ruby again after eight years makes him realize that all the miles between them over the years never lessened the way he felt about her.
This was simply beautiful and made my heart flutter in my chest. Five stars is always a hard call for a novella, especially one that isn't a spin off from another story. But even though I completely devoured this in such a short period of time, it was absolutely perfect. I loved the Knight Series and was happy to experience a softer side to Kitty's writing. Ford and Ruby's story was romance at it's best.

Wanderlust was a short but oh-so-fulfilling romance!
Ruby is organizing and hosting her college friends wedding at the hotel/inn she manages. She doesn’t expect, Ford, her college best friend and unrequited love to come as he RSVP’d no. She’s surprised to find out that his plans changed, and he is indeed coming and staying at her inn! Ruby hasn’t seen Ford in eight years and now her heart is in a flutter! Before he left off to travel the globe, Ford planted a kiss to overshadow all other kisses on Ruby leaving her breathless, and then heartbroken when he left. Oh, Ruby! *sniff*
Ford meant to stay in touch with Ruby over the years but couldn’t bring himself to do it. He was secretly in love with Ruby all through college and the kiss he shared with her confirmed she was everything he dreamed of and more. But, Ford had wanted to travel and Ruby didn’t/couldn’t ask him to stay. Coming back to see her after all this time makes him eager and nervous at the same time. Has she moved on? Is she married to someone who loves her like she definitely deserves? He selfishly hopes not.
He might have travelled the world, but he’d been just as lonely as she had, because the one person who mattered wasn’t at his side.
This was short on pages but still a romance full of longing and hot chemistry! Unrequited love or second chance romances always give my heart a little jolt of pain at what’s been missed. Fear not, Ruby and Ford make up for the past in a short amount of time:
She was a woman consumed with molten lust for the man whose kiss had dissolved all of the good intentions she’d had of keeping things platonic. The fact that it had taken eight years to get over just one of Ford’s kisses didn’t matter once his mouth touched hers for a second time.
The history Ruby and Ford had made me root for them all the way, and Ms. French does not disappoint! The ending will leave you with your heart full of happiness! This is the way a novella should be done!

Ms. Kitty French I bow down to you! How you were able to make me feel connected to characters and pack so much emotion in 41 pages, is exactly why I'm such a huge fan of yours!
I'm a sucker for a good ol' fashioned friends to lovers story.....add in holiday ambiance....and what more could you want?! This was a quick, sweet and sexy read that hit the spot like your favorite piece of mouth watering chocolate.

I can't wait to see what else Ms. French has up her sleeves, because I'll devour anything she's willing to offer.
Should you read this novella? Should you run and read the Knight Series so you could meet Lucien Knight? Should you add Kitty French to your list of automatic one-click authors? The answer is simple....

This novella is about a group of friends that all went to college together, and met while taking a hospitality management course. Ford and Ruby always had a thing for each other, but never revealed their feelings until one night right before they are making plans for their future. Ford tells Ruby he loves her, and gives her the best kiss of her life. The only problem is they have different visions for their future. Ruby plans to stay in England, get a job, and stay close to her younger sister. Ford has plans to leave England, and see the world. Ruby is a home body who needed routine and stability, and Ford is a dreamer with a free spirit. Ruby ends up managing a three hundred year old country hotel, and Ford is a successful Caribbean hotelier.
Eight years go by and Ford and Ruby still aren't over each other. Their best friends Emma and Naill are planning a New Year's Eve winter wedding that Ruby is in charge of. Ford had declined to attend, but all the sudden changes his mind. Ruby is nervous and freaking out that she is going to see him again. Ford arrives looking even better that when Ruby saw him last. This was a wonderful, sexy, holiday novella that I really enjoyed! It was the first thing I have read by Kitty French. I have been missing out! I look forward to reading her Knight series!

This novella is about a group of friends that all went to college together, and met while taking a hospitality management course. Ford and Ruby always had a thing for each other, but never revealed their feelings until one night right before they are making plans for their future. Ford tells Ruby he loves her, and gives her the best kiss of her life. The only problem is they have different visions for their future. Ruby plans to stay in England, get a job, and stay close to her younger sister. Ford has plans to leave England, and see the world. Ruby is a home body who needed routine and stability, and Ford is a dreamer with a free spirit. Ruby ends up managing a three hundred year old country hotel, and Ford is a successful Caribbean hotelier.
Eight years go by and Ford and Ruby still aren't over each other. Their best friends Emma and Naill are planning a New Year's Eve winter wedding that Ruby is in charge of. After graduation Ford leaves town in search of home but not before telling Ruby how he feels and giving her the kiss of a lifetime.....meanwhile Ruby's home has always been in England where she stays after graduation.
Ford and Ruby don't see or talk to each other for almost a decade....but when Ford returns to England for a friends wedding he learns the true meaning of home. Ruby is his home. They spend a sexy weekend together....exploring what they never got a chance to before.
Loved Ford and Ruby and their sweet story. This was a quick 40ish page novella....I'd definitely recommend to all Kitty French fans or if you're looking for a quick sexy little in-between read!!!

Kitty French is not a new author for me, no matter the fact that before Wanderlust I haven't read any of her novels. I've been tiptoeing around Knight series for a while, but after this sweet and short read, I plan to meet dark and brooding Lucien Knight really soon.
Second chance and feel-good holiday novella. I enjoyed reading about Ruby and Ford - college friends who haven't seen each other in eight years and now, they are meeting again because their best friends' wedding. Considering the fact that this is novella, I think it has less than 50 pages, it is obvious that you can't expect profound plot and a lot of unexpected twists, but Kitty French manage to write fun, short read that will satisfy your craving for sweet love story. Not to mention that it fits perfectly with upcoming holidays.
It is a little bit cheesy, maybe too fairy taleish with the whole wedding setting, but if you are sucker for romantic gestures, you should not miss Wanderlust.

Ruby and Ford spent their time together at University strictly in the friend-zone, well except for the night before he left to go travelling. One soul-searching kiss, changed their dynamic, but bound by responsibility Ruby stayed behind, while Ford left to explore the world.
Now several years later he is back, for a friend’s wedding, will they go back to being friends or are all bets off.
I want a Ford to turn up on my doorstep for Christmas, this story gave me the warm fuzzies, and I loved the postcards and the whole New Years wedding theme. All in all a quick sparkly, magical read!

A couple of weeks ago, my GR BFF Vika, told me about this hot little number being available on Netgalley. So I was about to leave my house when I requested it and didn't pay much attention to how long it was. When I got the email saying that I had gotten it, I was picking my child up from school, so I still didn't realize it was a shortie. But last night, I had finished my buddy read and it was still early so I went on the hunt for something else to read before I went to sleep. That's when I noticed that this one was a shortie and a perfect fit for what I needed.
It was the perfect set-up. Ruby and Ford previously were best friends at University, but the night after graduation, Ford suddenly felt different about Ruby and kissed her.

This is a very quick story about two old best friends reconnecting after eight years with no contact. Ruby and Ford both had feelings for each other in College, but neither of them were willing to risk their friendship by pursuing more. After one scorching kiss on graduation, Ford went off to travel the world while Ruby’s responsibilities kept her in the UK.
Eight years later, and they are reunited at the wedding of mutual friends, and with no drama or messing about, sparks (and clothes) fly!
This is a hot little read with very likeable characters. It's somewhat cheesy in places, but it’s got a sweet ending, and for 41 pages I’m not going to get too judgey.

Apenas 41 páginas... me lo terminé en media hora haha y este es mi libro 100 del año así que puedo decir que aunque detesto leer historias cortas esta ha sido muy bonita. De esas que me encantan con amigos que se enamoran. No es la gran cosa pero entretiene y hace tiempo quería leerla. Como es normal en este tipo de libros las cosas pasan muy rápido pero ese flashback me ENCANTÓ.

Like I said I loved everything about it the characters Ruby and Ford were perfect, romantic, and gently hot together. The story line worked well for this short Novella, wedding with complications. A freak winter storm causes all sorts of problems for the nuptials. Along the way Ruby & Ford rekindle the feeling they have for each other.
The author Kitty French cleverly draws the reader into the sweet holiday love story. Though this was a short read, it was lovely.

Wanderlust es mi primera experiencia con el trabajo de la autora, Kitty French y aunque no fue impresionante ( algo que tampoco esperaba, al ser una novela tan corta ) fue muy sencilla de leer.
Despues de haber terminado de leer The Dirt On Ninth Grave tenia una horita que llenar con algo, por lo que decidi iniciar esta novela, principalmente porque tenia muy pocas paginas ( menos de 50 ).
No hay mucho que decir de esta lectura, sencilla e ideal para lo que yo la queria.

OK so I popped my "Seasonal read" cherry today!!! I know I know, it's not even December but I had an hour to kill this morning and Kitty French's "Wanderlust" was just sat on my kindle glaring at me, dying to be read. I loved it. It's a second chance romance novella that sent me all giddy with excitement because it looked like the two main characters (Ruby and Ford) would finally get what they had been wishing for during their years apart.
This book was packed full of romance, one very hot male lead and the sex?Well Kitty French knows how to write a good sex scene and the ones on this book were no exception. They were hotter than hot and full of passion... the toe curling type that left me feeling all flushed!!! Plus there was snow, candles, log fires and the setting was a beautiful hotel in the Cotswold's... yup I definitely got that warm, wintery, fuzzy feeling whilst I worked my way through the pages.
This novella was a cute, guilty pleasures read and it will truly get you in the festive spirit. I rated "Wanderlust" 4 Hearts
