When Sable Ray sings, people die. She’s spent most of her life locked away to protect others from her curse, abandoned to an insane asylum and the monster in her own head. Lately, though, she’s been having dreams of another time, another life – one where she’s free. Where her power isn’t a curse, but a blessing. And just when she’s sure things can’t get any weirder, she’s confronted by a stranger with eyes as blue as the hottest flame He swears she’s not crazy – in fact, she’s the key to saving the world.

Marie Hall is a USA Today Bestselling author and has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project.

Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

She loves to hear from her readers and can be reached at mariehallwrites@gmail.com!

Marie Hall breaks a ton of writing rules in her YA/NA "Sable Book 1 of Chaos Time". This multiple perspective series shoots the reader through time and space as four companions attempt to change the course of history. The problem is that they failed the first time. Hunter, their leader and time jumper, has lived through the future's destruction. He risks creating paradoxes with each jump he takes, but he knows he must succeed. His first companion is Sable. Abandoned by her parents as a child she's had to endure years of physical and psychological abuse of her caretakers in an asylum for the mentally and physically handicapped. It's not her fault that her singing and screaming can kill. Instead of trying to figure out how to control this deadly ability, she has to wear a choke collar and is often subjected to physical blows to her throat. If she dares to speak she is strapped down and medicated into a stupor. But Sable is now seventeen, and the advances of a caretaker she named "fat basterd" are becoming more and more blatant. This is the condition Hunter finds Sable. Can he convince her to help him fight for his cause or is he doomed to let history repeat itself? Overall, a thrilling beginning to another one of Marie Hall's fascinating series. The main characters are seventeen, eighteen, twenty and ?. There is foul language that is commonly used by young adults and new adults. There are provocative themes throughout the series. And most importantly there are tons of cliffhangers. Each novel in this series feeds into the next. "Sable" acts as an introductory story, but if you are willing to look past that it hooks you into wanting to find out what happens next.

Feels like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. An omnicient leader assembles a motley crew of supernaturals to combat a terrible evil. Definitely a change of pace for this author.
