More wit and wisdom of LE CHAT, freely translated
Reading difficult books.
It's like body-building for the soul.
The science-fiction writer's dream:
plagiarizing an author from the future.
They say we use less than 50% of our brains.
I only half believe it.
You know something?
Hollywood stars are people just like you and me.
Though to be honest
They're more like me.
I drew this picture of myself with my eyes closed.
If you look at it with your eyes closed
It's pretty good!
This hypnotist was doing a show at the theater.
It was so boring I fell asleep.
The Pope and I have a lot in common.
We're both fat.
We both wear big coats.
And we both say a lot of dumb things.
But I do it on purpose.
What's wrong with being a sex object?
Some objects are useful and well designed.
A sports journalist doesn't have to be sporty
any more than a political journalist has to be an opportunistic liar.
If the audience beg a singer for an encore
He has to sing his song twice.
If you want an encore from me
Just read the strip again.
Advertisers think we're idiots.
Well, it's mutual.
My next book is going to be so funny
You'd better start laughing now.
