A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

She has a plan. He’s about to change it.

Regan Wakefield is a headhunter in both name and personality: driven, motivated, and unafraid to pursue what—and who—she wants. Naturally, she’s thrilled when her friend's wedding offers her an opportunity to score Logan McCade, the practically perfect best man. Unfortunately, groomsman Brock McNeil keeps getting in her way, riling her up in the most delicious of ways. But Brock’s smooth southern charm isn't part of the plan...so how exactly did they end up having searing-hot sex?

Regan may pretend the erotic electricity sparking between them is merely a distraction, but Brock knows better. She refuses to see beyond the devil-may-care façade he presents to the world, while he sees straight through hers. Changing her mind—and getting under her skin—is a challenge he can’t resist. And when he wins, Brock will do whatever it takes to convince Regan that the best man for her is him.

"changing her mind and getting under her skin is a challenge he can't resist."

I'm happy to announce that I've now completed the third book in the brazen 'wedding dare' collection and it's still continuing to be a series that is not to be missed. If you love sexual chemistry and sexy banter then 'seducing the bridesmaid' will be right up your alley. Katee Robert is an author that I can never say no to and once again I happily got lost in one of her naughty tales of love. Get ready to met a gorgeous take no prisoners heroine and her more than meets the eye laid back southerner in an epic tale of opposites attract.

What's it all about?
Regan Wakefield has spent her life focused in all areas of her life. As a natural hard worker this go getter has worked tirelessly for all she has achieved and now her plan involves pursuing a parter who is just as driven and motivated as she is. A weekend away at a close friends wedding gives Regan the opportunity she needs to meet that special someone. Brock McNeil is everything that Regan avoids in a relationship, lack back and dangerously attractive but she can't deny that the lust is unavoidable between them and soon enough they find themselves involved in a connection they both can't get enough of. When this couple start to realise that they may want more than just a one night stand decisions have to be made; Regan needs to be able to thrown away her long awaited plan and Brock needs look past the one night stand to hope for something more if they are to have a future together.

What did I love?
It is really evident that Katee Robert had some fun writing this novel and in turn that feeling was translated onto the pages of this amusing and easy to read tale. One of the details that I enjoyed the most about this charming adventure was the role reversal of the sexes that the author created. Instead of the hero taking the reins Katee Robert has created a heroine that is just as much of a ball breaker as she is likeable, she knows what she wants and she knows just how to get it. But don't worry too much about the hero taking a backseat because soon enough the heroine shows her vulnerability and the hero is more than ready to take charge of the woman that has won over both his lust and affection. The story had little drama to contend with and even when the predicable angst appeared in the story line it was quickly dealt with and replaced with the signature brazen steam. There was nothing not to enjoy with my time spent reading this story and I can only guess that readers who already enjoy this authors work will easily be falling for this story too. Overall this story was plenty likeable and most certainly enjoyable, it had plenty of rumpy pumpy and a few heart warming scenes thrown in for some added story telling, a winner in my eyes but not so epic that I'd be handing out the full five stars.

Final thoughts ...
The wedding dare series defines all that I love about the brazen titles. It has everything included to make it's readers, blush, swoon and smile whilst keeping the enjoyment at a loveable level. I can't help but adore these books and I'm thoroughly impressed that these authors have come together to create a series that flows so well. As for 'seducing the bridesmaid' Katee Robert has certainly proved her worth amongst this talented group of authors and I'm already desperate to see what the next author will bring to this already fabulous series. Readers who love sexy combined with easy reading will love this book, go grab it on release day. Enjoy ... Kisses

The story was ok. It didn't really stand out to me but it was solid enough. Regan and Brock meet at their friends' wedding and though their interactions start off antagonistic, they soon find they have quite the spark. A few hang ups, a foiled plan, and some miscommunication later, they have their big fight. Then a HFN. There's really not much more to it than that. The writing was good. The secondary characters definitely had some things going on between them. Not sure if there was enough for me to continue the series, though to be frank. I do like the other authors so I might circle back eventually. I would call this a comfortable read. No real surprises but it still gives you the elements you look for in romance. Safety: h starts off interested in OM. Nothing happens with him despite appearances. No OW/Sharing. Neither are Vs. No rape or abuse.

4 Totally Driven Meets Surprisingly Focused Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
Assumptions... oh, how dangerous they can be. We assess people... make an evaluation of things we have heard, things we have observed, and mix it with the life experiences we carry about ourselves... and make assumptions... but are they correct? Have we given the object of these thoughts a chance to be who they really are... or do we just stick with what we think they are and box them in...

In the third grouping of the Wedding Dare series, this is the overall challenge. In Seducing The Bridesmaid by Katee Robert, you have Regan and Brock front and center.
Both have their reputation preceding them...their friends know who they are... and sometimes it seems these friends know them better than they know themselves.

Regan is the driven, ambitious New York City headhunter. She comes from a loving family...and their love was all the riches they needed... because although they were not well off, they all worked to make each other cared for. She saw how her parents worked to assist in her education as best they could... sacrificing to give their daughter the best. She also saw what a loving relationship was... How it could be a thing of beauty... and she swore... somehow at some point... she would have one too... but first she needed to succeed...and she was. She was confident...held her own with the "Big Boys" and didn't use her feminine wiles to manipulate; no, she used her planning, research, and a take no prisoners' attitude. Yet underneath all this woman, there was a girl who still wished to have someone look out for her. She just couldn't allow anyone to see it...

And then there was Brock... the good ole' county boy.... oh, yes the package presented seemed to live up to all the cliches. Built, handsome... with a smile that crinkled his eyes... he was from a family which wanted for nothing... almost a Southern dynasty... and he was "Just a VP" of the company... that type of fella who really was just skating along... riding off the trust funds and family business...and probably leaving a trail of females in his wake.... Right?

Well, not exactly... it seems he also was painted by the second son brush...He was never good enough in his father's eyes... Never amounted to the level of awe like his older brother Chase, so after repeated attempt to impress and receive the love he craved from his dad, only to be ignored time and time again... Brock decided he was done.

If they thought he wasn't going to apply himself, then Damn, why should he. He did apply himself, though only he keep it a secret from most. Colton knew what he had accomplished but everyone else could kiss his grits for all he cared...Until he met Regan.

These two are a case of seemingly opposites attract. On paper, they do not make sense, and Regan has her sights set for Logan, the best man. Now he makes sense for Regan, he fits her plan. He's a successful CEO of a major company, he matches her perfectly. Only she can't seem to cross paths with him. Brock, however, seems to be everywhere and the current between them is crackling. She knows to stay away... she knows this is a bad idea... but like an undertow of major proportions... she cannot stop herself. The two of them connect, the sparks fly, and both will never be the same.

When Brock and Regan decide to have sexy times... think woman on top, think sexy shoes with legs for days, think a man who knows how to work a woman into a frenzy...

Yeah... excuse me for a moment while I think about all that...

This couple has the makings of a real seduction. There is a pulling, a need for each other. What works so well is Brock's ability to see through all of Regan's plotting and feels for the core of the woman. Also, his need to finally come to terms with his issues makes for interesting scenes. Together they force each other to recognize how good they are for each other.

This part of the Wedding Dare grouping by Katee Robert is very special. We have all of the characters. Things are shaping up from the other books. We can see what has happened if we have read them, yet you do not have to have read the others to enjoy each of the books separately. There is one more in the series, Best Man with Benefits.

I just want to add, I feel another grouping in the making...Regan's best friend is Addison, a high-level Matchmaker...something tells me I will be reading about her and all her exploits soon.

Regan wants a successful man with the same goals as her to bring stability to her life. One night with no strings attached. Thats all it was suppose to be with Brock. He wasnt suppose to fit in her life or can he?

Brock was maybe not my type of hero, he felt a bit needy to me. My main issue was Regan's treatment towards poor Brock who spend his life in his brothers shadow. They were good together though and there was some nicely done scenes.

This was short steamy low angst low drama. It was still a good addition to the series but to me it was just okay. I just didnt really like the main characters to rate it higher.

She has a plan. He’s about to change it.

This book had to have had some of the best banter I've read in a while. That whole 'I should hate you but still lust you' thing Brock and Regan had going on? Let's just say I likey verra much.

Regan Wakefield is a take-no-shit New York headhunter. She's confident, she's outspoken, and she has no issues knowing what she wants and going after it...or at least she THINKS she knows what she wants. She has a plan after all, and that plan is to snag the very eligible Logan McCade at her friend's wedding. On paper he's everything she wants; driven, motivated, and successful. So why is that when she sees the extreme opposite of what she wants Brock McNeil...

How did that happen? Well, it's certainly not easy to resists Brock's southern charm, and when he lay it on her, he really LAYS it on her. Pun most definitely intended.

But Brock isn't exactly the entitled rich boy that Regan thinks that he is. Too bad it takes her a bit to figure it out.

I absolutely LOVED the banter between these two. Regan definitely didn't mince words and she had no problems cutting Brock down to size.
It's okay if you're intimidated by my overwhelig masculinity. I promise to take good care of you."
"How sweet of you. But let's be honest. I'd ruin you for other women, and I'm just too nice to do that to an adorable thing like you."

Brock certainly didn't disappoint with giving as good as he got. And as hard as Regan was on him at times, she really deserved that and more
Why, Scarlett, are you calling me difficult? I seem to remember you making irrational claims about my not being as mean as I acted."
"God, no. I'm just pointing out that you have a mammoth stick up your ass." He reached for his drink, effectively removing her hand from his arm. "Since I'm petitioning for saintly status, I'm willing to help you remove it."

As much as I enjoyed their banter, there were definitely times I wanted to throttle Regan for being as tough on Brock as she was. There's a fine line between confident and brash, and Regan was tip toening right on it most of the time.

She did have her endearing moments. I liked how terrified she was of the outdoors. Logical fear?

Except she was scared of squirrels. Her quirky fear never failed to put a smile on my face.

And of course with sparks like that between them, their sexual chemistry between them was combustible and certainly didn't disappoint. This book was STEAMY.

I loved Brock. I just wish it hadn't taken Regan as long as it did to finally get her head out of her ass.

I absolutely love how the authors tied in each book in this series, it really just made each book that much more enjoyable for me. I highly recommend reading all of them in order.

Read it in order:

Regan Wakefield is a headhunter and lives in New York. She’s confident, she knows what she wants and she has a plan. Logan McCade is the kind of man who fits right into her life plan. He’s everything she was supposed to want, but maybe, just maybe...he’s not what she needs.

Brock McNeill is a southern playboy, his family is rich, but most of all he’s all Regan doesn’t want in a partner.

“It’s okay that you’re scared. You’ve never met a man like me.”

Brock is attracted to Regan, he wants her, at first only for one night. Regan thinks she doesn’t need a man like Brock, but she’s about to discover there is more to Brock than meets the eye. She doesn’t want to want him but he makes her toes curl like nobody else.

She agrees to spent a night with Brock, no strings attached, but Brock wants her not only for sex.

“Seducing The Bridesmaid” was a nice story, but I can’t say I love it. My main problem was wih Regan character. Damn!!! She was such a bitch with Logan. God, half of the book I want to slap her!

I enjoyed the banter between them, but there were times that I felt Regan exaggerated a little. Like I said, not my favorite heroine. I liked Brock, but I didn't loved him either. I didn’t understand why it took him so long to actually do something to be with Regan and to convince her that he’s the man for her. I guess he was too soft for me.

However, I enjoyed the sexy times between them and their chemistry.
Low in angst in drama, “Seducing The Bridesmaid” was a nice, good enough story.

Seducing the Bridesmaid by Katee Robert

***Warning: this is an adult book, and for the eyes of mature readers***

Summary (from Goodreads):

What I Liked:

A short, fast read that featured a sweet and charming hero, and a prickly and rude heroine. Katee Robert is one of my favorite adult romance authors, but this was not one of my favorite books by her. It's one of her earlier ones, so perhaps it wasn't her best in general? It was okay, but not great. On a positive note, I like this Wedding Dare series. It's compromised of short Brazen novels, written by a different author, but all part of the same story and characters (different hero/heroine per book).

This is Regan and Brock's story. Kady and Colton are getting married, and as friends of each, Brock and Regan are there for the wedding. They're part of the wedding, as a groomsmen and a bridesmaid. Regan is a thorny, mean, assertive businesswoman, and Brock is a sweet man who seems like an underachiever - but he isn't. Regan doesn't give Brock the time of day, but the pair has really smoking chemistry. Even though Regan turns him away the first few times, she'll start to realize that maybe she was wrong about Brock.

I liked Brock so much. From the start, you can tell that he is a true Southern gentleman, and he isn't using his Southern charm to get in with the ladies. He's a sweet guy with a hint of arrogance and a lot of confidence. He's used to everyone seeing him as the rich, spoiled, lazy second son, but that's because he doesn't correct anyone and he hides who he really is and what he really does. I loved Brock's complexity, and his internal turmoil. This book is so short and yet we see so much of Brock's thoughts and emotions. He's such a great guy too! Chivalrous and very charming, honest and perceptive.

Regan... is the reason why this book is getting a so-so rating. So I'll talk about her in the next section. I didn't love the romance between these two, but I thought they had really great chemistry. I didn't like Regan in most of the book, but I thought she was pretty okay in the end. SHE came chasing after him and fighting for him, so that definitely won her a ton of points.

This isn't Robert's steamiest book by a long shot - heck, I was a little disappointed - but there were a few sizzling scenes, and like I said, the chemistry was great.

Overall, not bad, and definitely a good addition to the Wedding Dare series. There was great character growth for both protagonists. But the story could have been better.

What I Did Not Like:

I didn't like Regan. She's mean, so rude, and she could stand to relax a little. In a way, she's portrayed as the stereotypical workaholic businesswoman, in fiction: dominant, bossy, assertive, commanding, rude, lonely, sexless, etc. I didn't like this. I don't think businesswoman are like that at all (some are). Why go straight for the heaviest of stereotypes?

And I really didn't like her anyway. She is a bit cruel to Brock, in the beginning of the book. And she's so hot and cold in the book - honestly, her mood swings were giving me whiplash. One minute she is using Brock to try and meet someone else, the next minute she's running right back to Brock, then she's running far away from him... good grief, woman. Mixed signals much? Way too much drama. I don't know why Brock went to all that trouble.

Regan's attitude at the very end of book won her some points for me - she went chasing after Brock (and not the other way around). Good. Honestly, she was not put in her place NEARLY enough, in this book. She was wrong over and over and no one seemed to want to correct her? I think she should have suffered a bit in terms of her emotions - especially after sending Brock through the entire spectrum of emotions.

This was such a non-steamy book compared to Robert's other books. Don't get me wrong, there is explicit sex in this book. But I know Robert's books, and they are usually much steamier. This book only had one sex scene that I thought was kind of steamy, and the other one fell flat. The chemistry was hot but the sex scenes weren't. I know Robert can do better. And this was one of her older books, so I know she has done better since. But this book could have used a little more steam - especially since it seemed like Robert was trying to work the hate-to-love bickering romance.

Would I Recommend It:

Of Robert's books that I've read (this is my tenth), I'd not recommend this one. I'd recommend her O'Malley's series, her Out of Uniform series, her Foolproof Love series. But maybe not this one. The heroine was a little too unlikable overall, especially to be paired with such a sweet guy like Brock.

Rating:

3.5 stars -> rounded down to 3 stars. I liked this one but wouldn't recommend it, and probably won't reread it (it wasn't that memorable). Still, it was worth reading and I'm glad I did. I love Robert's books and will always give them a chance! And this Wedding Dare series is wonderful.

3 - "I used to be a boob man, but I think you've ruined me." Stars!

Seducing the Bridesmaid is the third instalment in the Wedding Dare series. Regan has probably been the most prominent secondary character in the previous books, so it was good to finally get to her story. As a head-hunter in New York, Regan’s life revolves around plans, she has set goals in life and is extremely focussed on what she believes is the right path for her to take.

The man was temptation personified. It just wasn’t fair.

So when a sexy and at first glance extremely laid-back and easy-going Southern gentleman steps into the path of her well thought out plans, Regan is left floundering on a raft of feelings and emotions that she doesn't usually experience, Brock isn’t appropriate to those plans, and she shouldn’t want him, as he doesn’t fit into the mould she has built for her life, o.k. for a bit of fun maybe... but not long-term.

Regan -”I always have a plan. You weren’t part of any plan.”
Brock – “Plans change. That’s life.”
Regan – “Not my plans. Not until you.”...

He made her forget herself, forget what was important.

Regan likes to be in charge, something Brock struggles with when it comes to the bedroom, although I liked the fact that he was happy to lie back and let her lead the way initially, I did find it a little icky that as soon as she got out of bed, she was looking for her next opportunity to get closer to another guy in the wedding party, as he was more in-line with the "type" of guy she thought she should be with. I wanted Brock to do more about this situation earlier on in the book than he did.

”Remember – you touch me, this ends.” Because she’d forget all reason and lose herself completely. This was the type of man who expected that kind of response from his partners, and got it through sheer force of personality.

Don’t get me wrong I still really enjoyed the story; I just found the whole ‘sleeping with one guy, while trying to pull another’ a little overplayed. Brock is used to living up to the expectations that the people around him have, or should I say lack of, which I suppose you could attribute to his externally laid-back attitude to Regan’s actions. But I liked it when he gave Regan attitude back and would loved to have seen more of this side of him.

”Woman you’re as mean as a copperhead. Come here let’s find out if you’re as cold-blooded.”

As you would expect from a Katee Robert book the sexy times do not disappoint. She isn’t shy about making the woman the dominant force in the bedroom, but Brock was no slouch either!

”Well darlin’, I fuck who I want to. And right now that’s you.”

Another enjoyable addition to the Wedding Dare series. You again are given the progression of the couple throughout their week at Beaver Creek Resort, as well as the continuation of Wedding story as a whole. I really don't want it to end!

One of the Top 5 WORST Heroines that I have ever come across.

Awful, amateurish writing.

Boring-as-heck dialogue.

An ASININE plot.

Zero chemistry between the hero & heroine. (Their connection & chemistry seems forced & not at all realistic... As I mentioned before, the quality of writing is just VERY POOR).

Seducing the Bridesmaid is, without doubt, the weakest & the worst of the entire Wedding Dare series. It was so uninspiring that I fell asleep numerous times in my attempt to finish the book.

*** My Public Service Announcement: If "annoying heroines" are your pet peeve, then stay as far away from this novel as possible. Some of the things that come out of this heroine's mouth & some of her actions are utterly migraine-inducing.

In the future, I will refrain from reading any other novels by author Katee Robert. Each novel in the Wedding Dare series was written by a different author, & Robert's novel is clearly the weakest of the group. I have never read a Katee Robert novel that I've enjoyed, so I may as well cut my losses now.

3.5 mental checklist stars

On the inaugural night of this Wedding week, the Bridesmaids decided to seduce a particular Groomsman, and Regan Wakefield's choice was the best man; Logan McCade. He was a perfect fit for her; driven, successful, workaholic..such similarities.

Regan is a sorority sister of Kady's, eminent headhunter, and wearer of six inch heels. Her reputation precedes her; tough, tall and taking no prisoners.

"Please. There are a thousand men like you. But it's cute that you think you're special. Did your mother tell you that?'

Brock McNeill is a renowned Southern playboy, and everything Regan doesn’t want in a potential partner. He is currently the CEO of his family run business, which has obviously been handed to him on a plate, hasn't it?

Brock is immediately attracted to Regan's feisty, go getting persona, and doesn't attempt to hide his amorous intentions. Regan, however, has her aim firmly set on the perfect Logan, until Brock's tenacity starts wobbling her plans. She may have a long term goal, but Brock could serve her well in the meantime, as long as it is on her terms at her pace.

"He blew right past self-confidence and overshot arrogance by a mile"

I really liked Brock in this story. He was funny, sweet, but irresistible and commanding when the time demanded. He was totally underestimated by Regan, and I enjoyed watching him unpeel as the story unfolded.

I enjoy powerful, feisty heroines too, but I'm afraid Regan wasn't a character I warmed to. I'm sure a lot had to do with her underlying insecurities and how they manifested themselves, but she just left me tutting.

But even with my tuttfest, I still thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This series has proved to be a real winner for me, and the different authors have given the storyline that depth and difference to keep you reading.

2 stars...this really bums me out, I have read about 4 or 5 other novels by this author and pretty much liked them all (3-4 stars) but this just didn't really work for me. I HATED Regan. Just HATED her. She was so awful, and ugh, just awful, I didn't see why anyone would like her at all, other than the hot body, which let's face it, there are other hot women that aren't absolute bitches, I couldn't believe the way she treated Brock. I couldn't believe he didn't drop her ass at the nearest railroad track. Ugh. Just a judgmental trampus. Brock was okay. Nothing too deep, but I liked him pretty good. I liked seeing the other characters I had read about previously, even when I couldn't really remember their stories. Lots of crazy shit at this little wedding. This series has been kind of hit or miss for me.

Three and a half stars.

I find it strange that in a series written by different authors the characters/plots can seem so similar.

Regan is yet another bridesmaid, she's a driven New York head-hunter, and she has set her sights on the similarly driven best man, Logan. Who she doesn't have time for is Brock, wealthy playboy son working for his father's firm he doesn't appear to work at anything, if it gets too serious he walks away. Just like that Regan assessed Brock (as an aside WHO names their child Brock?) and found him wanting. Of course we the readers find out that Brock's attitude is as a result of his father's constant put downs and that he has done something pretty amazing.

I liked the snark in this book, there were some great lines and I liked the way that the over-arching wedding story progressed further. As I said in my last review, I am kind of more intrigued by the way that these different authors have created a patchwork of interlocking novellas than the individual stories.

When Brock reminisces about something he did with his girl he sure gets all happy, "a faint smile caught the corners of his lips. “We drank too much and had sex in the bathroom of the bar.” I loved this book, I loved Brock.

**ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review by the girls and I at www.sizzlingpages.com **

Regan is sure that the best man, Logan, is going to be
the perfect groomsman for her to hook up with, and maybe even find long term
with.  He runs his own company, is a hard
worker, athletic and sexy.  So she sets
her sights on trying to get his attention.

There's only one problem with this - and his name is
Brock.  After Regan meets him she can
describe him in 3 words.

At least this is what she thinks he is.  She's making assumptions about him being some
smooth talking southern boy, that comes from "old money" - he works
for his daddy, just enjoying the title of VP at the company and really not
doing any work.

Brock knows what she thinks about him, a lot of people
share those thoughts.  He's not really
what everyone sees, but he's going to let Regan assume she knows him.  He'll play the game, even encourage her.  Brock wants her, he knows her type and she's
in denial about the crazy attraction between them.  Regan sure does
try to push his buttons, but he doesn't get ratttled easily.  These two trade
barbs with each other like crazy.

"But
let's be honest.

I'd
ruin you for other women,

and
I'm just too nice to do that

to an adorable thing like you."

"Woman, you're as mean as a
copperhead.

 Come here and let's find

out
if you're as cold-blooded."

At times I really wanted to smack Regan with how she
treated Brock - constantly making fun of him.  He
took it all in stride, but he did give it back to her too.  He really tried to show her his true
self.  He wondered if he was good enough for
her long term, or was she just using him to get to Logan?  Their relationship was a constant battle.

Luckily with good friends not holding back and calling
"bullshit", Brock and Regan face some hard facts about
themselves.  Both finally realizing that they may be perfect for each other after all.

A rough ride with these two - but still loving this
series!

The 2 stars are for poor Brock enduring Reagan and actually putting a baby in her.

My opinion of the heroine never changed, sadly. She grated on me from start to finish. He digs and sarcasm towards the H was just belittling, nothing banter or funny about it, and sweetheart Brock just took it on the chin. Many times I wanted him to tell her to go eff herself and find someone else.

It was only when Regan found out he wasn't a waste of space and actually had done something worthwhile with his life and his foundation that suddenly he was worthy of her time again *major eye roll*

she never gave massive grovel as was warranted.. if that had been the H the readers would have expected some major grovel to get back in her good books, but because it's the h we're given a token "I'm sorry"

well sorry, this heroine was not likable at all, and I've come to enjoy this author having read her now in a few of these author-collaboration series, but this one just rubbed me all wrong.

A short, sweet romance with a strong female lead and a country boy! This was super fun and spicey and exactly what I wanted as an in between read. I feel like every katee robert book I read, I enjoy so I always know I'm gonna have a good time and this was no exception.

I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars for this one but I'm being nice and rounding up!

Regan has every intention of using her friend's wedding to catch the eye of her ideal man. She's a head hunter by profession so she's already done her research and on paper the best man Logan is everything she could want in a guy. She hadn't counted on the charms of groomsman Brock though and it looks like he's going to do whatever it takes to waylay her from her goal. Can Brock convince her that he's actually the perfect man for her?

Seducing the Bridesmaid is part of the Wedding Dare multi-author series which has been written by five of my favourite Brazen authors. The prequel novella, Dare to Resist by Laura Kaye, sets the scene for the rest of the series and introduces us to the original couple Kady and Colton. Each of the following novels, written by Diane Alberts, Tessa Bailey, Katee Robert and Samanthe Beck, follow the same time line and take place at Kady and Colton's wedding. Each book features a different bridesmaid and sees the four of them daring each other to find a hot groomsman to have fun with for the duration of the wedding. Although the series doesn't have to be read in order I would recommend at least starting with the prequel novella before you go on to read the remaining stories in any order that takes your fancy. There is a crossover of characters and you'll see certain conversations between the friends from several different angles throughout the series and I've really enjoyed seeing how cleverly all of the books have been tied together. Seducing the Bridesmaid by Katee Robert is the fourth story in the series following Dare to Resist, Falling for the Groomsman and Baiting the Maid of Honor.

I hate to say it but as much as I love Katee Robert's writing Regan nearly ruined this story for me. I found her incredibly difficult to like because she was so cold and judgemental in the beginning. She takes one look at Brock and decides he's not good enough for her, purely because she doesn't think he's as driven or career oriented as she is. I kept waiting for her to wise up and realise that there was a lot more to Brock underneath his casual surface and if she'd done that on her own I think I could have forgiven her. Unfortunately it takes her doing some digging into his private life to uncover his secrets for her to actually decide he's worth taking a chance on. I was so annoyed by the way she looked down her nose at him for anything long term but was happy to jump in bed with him, not only that but she'd get out of his bed and then immediately go and try hitting on Logan again. I've never spent so much of a romance story wishing the hero would tell the heroine to get stuffed and go off and find someone who was actually worthy of him!

It was Brock that kept me reading, he was a fabulous hero and someone I could easily fall for. He comes across as someone who has no ambition and he does have a nasty habit of playing down his achievements but when you think about the way his father has always treated him it is quite understandable. He has always been compared unfavourably to his older brother and he was desperate for someone to see him as good enough in his own right. I really, really wanted Regan to see the real Brock BEFORE she discovered how successful he was and I was incredibly disappointed that it took her uncovering his secrets for her to see him as worthy. I seriously have no clue what Brock saw in Regan, there was just nothing about her that made me think a guy would fall so madly in love with her that he'd put up with the way she treated him.

I'm still a huge fan of Katee Robert and I have really enjoyed all of the other books in this series but I'm afraid that, for me, Seducing the Bridesmaid was a disappointment. The chemistry between the couple was fantastic and you can count on this author to give you a sexy story but not liking Regan was a big issue for me.

My Review:
I keep waiting for one of these five books to be not-quite-up-to-par with the rest of the series, but it sure wasn't this one and this is the one I kind of expected it to be just because I didn't like these characters as much in the other books. But I was wrong...this book was just as good as the rest of the series and they've all been fantastic.

This book is about Brock and Sophie. Sophie is a woman with balls. She's tough. She's focused. She's highly successful at her career in NYC and she's managed that by taking no prisoners in any aspect of her life. Brock is, on the surface, her opposite. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, has a token position in daddy's company, is good-looking and knows it, and pretty much has a laissez-faire attitude toward everything. He is not the kind of guy that fits into Sophie's life-plan. He's great for a roll in bed, but that's it...and for that to work, Sophie has to stay in control.

Neither of these types of characters are ones that I generally like, but that's why I love this book so much. This author managed to make me fall in love with both Brock and Sophie and I wanted so much for them to get their act together. They were awesome together. Sophie cracked me up every time she called Brock, Scarlett (he has that southern drawl and is very much an entitled, pampered kind of character)...and he flat out doesn't know what to make of Sophie's hard-hitting ways. He's in constant confusion over her. I loved them, especially as more of the story came out and it was revealed that Brock is so much more than he appears.

Everything about this story worked for me. The sex scenes were simply sizzling. I didn't think anything could top when Sophie was in control, but whoa...when Brock got control...wow! The steam was most definitely rising off my kindle. I loved the vulnerable moments that Sophie had and how Brock recognized them and didn't take advantage or push her in those moments. He gets her and that worked so much for me...even when she's confusing the crap out of him...he gets her and that more than melted my heart.

Every book in this series, when I read it, I think this is my new favoritest couple of the group, but then the next book comes along and I change my mind. I loved Brock and Sophie. They were unexpected, but they definitely pulled at my heartstrings. Only one more book to read in the series, but so far every single book in the series has been phenomenal! I can't recommend all of them enough. You need to read this series from Entangled!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

1 Wedding. 4 Bridesmaids. 4 Groomsmen. 1 dare

The third book in the Wedding Dare series was a book that grew on me. It had all the elements Katee Robert always brings us in her books - tension, hot guy, sexy shenanigans and the touching moments, but I must confess it took me a while to warm to Regan and Brock.

Why? Regan Wakefield is a ball-buster, in business and pleasure. Opinionated and stubborn she needs to be in control and can be harsh with it. But underneath her steely façade is a woman who actually does wish for love and all that comes along with it and Kady and Colton's wedding reinforces this. Brock McNeil oozes southern charm. Wealthy, observant and tired of being second best to his family, Regan intrigues him. Problem is, she has her eye on the Best-Man, Logan McCade; he is everything she believes she needs in a man and she's not adverse to using Brock in her tactical plans. But Brock won't play second fiddle anymore.

description

And this is what I struggled with for the first half of the book. I love a strong feisty female lead, but Regan's attitude felt cold and she infuriated me. As fabulous as she is to her friends, the way she treated Brock frustrated. And Brock, he may be a man of few words and as lovely as his Southern gentleman-like personality was, he needed to man up and stop letting his family shape him.

But when they stop fighting it they did endear themselves to me; Brock actually understands Regan perfectly and as they get to know one another and the pent up feelings are unleashed it is hot and heartfelt. Out of the window went the frustration and through the door came all the feels and love for this couple.

So, whilst it's not my fave of the series, it's still a good sexy addition, with a superb epilogue and Scarlett and Peaches get 4 stars from me.

4 Groomsman + 4 Bridesmaids = 4 Delicious New Brazen Novels

This is the third novel is this wonderful little series that some of the best and hottest Brazen authors have gotten together to write. In the first novella we were introduced to Colt and Kady who discovered their love for each other.

This is now their wedding where love is not only in the air, but is also happening to our 4 hot groomsman and bridesmaids

It is now Brock and Regan's turn for romance and although I enjoyed their story and Katee's style of writing, I cant say I liked these 2 as characters much. Regan was far to much a ball buster for my liking, and Brock was definitely not alpha enough for me... She walked all over him and I didn't like it much.....anyway....

In the book, Regan decides that she is going to go after Logan at this wedding, because on paper he is the best candidate that will suit all her needs. However she soon discovers that she is more than attracted to Brock instead and he is all wrong for her. After all he is just a rich playboy with no drive or ambition other than to be a figure head for his father's company.... Or is he??

Reagan soon discovers their is more to Brock than meets the eye and their attraction is off the charts. Can he be the one for her after all?

Regan is a take no prisoners headhunter from New York and Brock is a southern boy from old money. Regan thinks she has Brock figured out. Brock finds Regan intriguing. Could there be more beneath both there well placed masks.

Brock stopped trying to prove himself to his parents long ago. He can never be as great as his brother in their eyes. He hides his hurt behind his southern charm just like Regan hides her feelings about everything behind her no-one-can-hurt-me-I-don't-care attitude. I understand why Regan doesn't want to get close to Brock and vice versus but these two can't seem not to be attracted to each other.

I love how Regan will never let anyone control her or tell her what to do. We have that is common. Brock is perfect for Regan. He will never try to control her, feel competitive with her about her career, and always respect her choices. I found Regan's reason for fearing the woods really funny. Regan is just as scared as Brock to show she can be hurt. Brock and Regan had great sexual chemistry. But I didn't find this book as steamy has the last two. I mean it was sexy but not as much as the other two. The Epilogue was perfection.

I am a HUGE Katee Robert fan, so I was especially excited when I saw she was part of this series. It took everything I had not to jump forward and read her book first. Somehow, I managed to read the books in order which I highly recommend.

I will admit, it took me a LONG TIME to fall for Regan Wakefield. She made it especially tough. By the end, I loved how much she cared for her friends. I thought she was too rough on Brock McNeil, but I was happy with them as a couple by the end.

Bottom line: The is a fantastic series and I recommend reading the whole thing. It's a great concept and all the authors involved are some of my favorites. The whole series is filled with lots of sexy and swoon. Brazen fans (Entangled Publishing) won't be disappointed.

I'm so bored. I only read a little of the book and I started blanking out over and over again. I was trying to focus on the words but my focus would go somewhere else. There is no chemistry between the characters so all we are left with is empty flirting. Regan is freakishly confident and after she kept saying that she would ruin him for all other women I expected some serious results. When they did end up having sex I totally missed it because A. I blanked out and B. the scene was so short I couldn't possible understand how this was the "climax" Regan was proving she could provide. I just had to stop.

Ugghhhhh

I tried SO SO hard to like Regan and Brock but I couldn't. I HONESTLY could not. Ugh.

The premise was great but it just felt sooooo drawn out and boring and long that I lost interest and it got so bad that I just a few chapters left I can't bring myself to finish it. AT ALL.

I couldn't sense ANY chemistry at all and after one point Regan just became sooo annoying and Brock became soooo basic that I felt sick.

But anyway, not my cup of tea and I was honestly disappointed by this.

3.5/5 stars

Seducing the Bridesmaid follows the story of Regan and Brock, two very headstrong and determined individuals. Their 'I hate you but I want you' relationship is quite amusing and Katee writes some awesome dialogue between the two.

Pacing: I felt the pacing in this one went well. Roberts always writes fast-paced romances and they just seem to work for me. Brock wastes no time in making his interest in Regan clear. And Regan doesn't waste time making her lack of interest clear. He is pretty relentless in his pursuit of her, however, which was fun to watch for awhile. I got pretty annoyed with Regan and her assumptions of him, and I honestly didn't see what the allure was for Brock. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and Roberts knows how to write some steamy, sexy scenes- but it was harder to get behind these two as a couple because of the way Regan treated him for a good portion of the book.

Storyline: Regan has her sights set on Logan McCade, the best man to the groom. Logan is successful, independent, and a decent guy. In short, he's exactly the kind of guy Regan is looking for. She easily dismisses groomsman, Brock McNeill. She believes him to be a lazy playboy, who is catching a ride on his dad's multimillion dollar company train. She couldn't be more wrong if she tried. Brock is actually a good guy who doesn't just ooze Southern charm and money. He may be flirtatious and a bit arrogant, but he's pretty genuine. He wants Regan and the chance to prove to her that he's not all what she thinks. Regan and Brock end up getting involved in a one night, no strings deal and from there, Brock realizes he WILL be the one to crack Regan's tough outer shell.

Characters: I really liked Brock. REALLY liked him. Which is why the way Regan treated him, didn't really sit right with me. Regan has a plan and Brock is NOT a part of it. She refuses to deviate from said plan of snagging Logan McCade, and she thinks she's got Brock pegged when she has NO idea of his character- she won't give him the chance to find out more about who he really is. She does start to have all these conflicting thoughts, as she's not really set on Logan- instead she can't stop thinking about Brock. I really wanted to smack Regan quite a bit throughout the book. I get that she's worked hard to get where she is today and people that don't have to lift a finger to have everything really bother her. It does me too. Still, I don't feel these two spent enough time having serious, real conversations to make me buy into their romance. They do have a few tender moments but I guess I just needed more of seeing them together without so much animosity.

Regan thinks Brock is the golden child in his family, when really Brock's older brother Caine, is the one who always lived up to his father's expectations, while Brock was always left feeling he came up short. This really does bother Brock and he hates that Regan wants someone like his brother and not him. Once Regan realizes just who Brock is and what he's actually accomplished, she's angry at him for not telling her- but why should he have to? Shouldn't he be enough?

Final Thoughts: While I took some issues with Regan and her abrasive nature, this really was a fun read. I always enjoy Roberts' books and the scenarios she creates within them. The banter between Brock and Regan will leave you chuckling one minute and then screaming at them to get their act together the next!

Regan is bold, daring, and used to going after what she wants so when her friend’s wedding gives her the opportunity to pursue best man Logan McCade, Regan is determined to win him over. Unfortunately, she wasn’t counting on groomsman Brock McNeil getting in her way with his southern charm. He’s definitely not what Regan wants yet they end up having what she thinks is a “one and done.” Except Brock knows that the chemistry between them is something different and is just as determined to prove it to Regan as she is to forget they ever spent the night together. What results is a battle of wills with a side of red hot chemistry thrown in for fun. Oh, and shenanigans. Lots and lots of shenanigans going on between the rest of the bridal party.

So, by the end of Seducing the Bridesmaid I had it all figured that I missed previous books in a connecting series. Lo and behold, the Wedding Dare series! Okay so I liked the setting of Seducing the Bridesmaid and the fact that it takes place at the same time as the rest of the books in the series so if you read all the books in the series you get to see some of the events of each book from a different perspective. It all makes sense in the end.

Brock is the Southern charmer with a talent for getting on Regan’s last nerve. Regan’s a little uptight about just everything. I liked how opposite these two were and how they clashed in the little things but as the story goes on they find a few things that they can agree on. I do think Brock put up with a lot of crap from Regan and I don’t know if that makes him a sucker or a guy who accepts that his dream woman is less than perfect and has the tendency to lash out verbally when she feels cornered. Not going to lie, Regan could be mean at times towards Brock but again, he was so persistent with her that she felt cornered and was in denial about her feelings. I didn’t always agree with how she handled Brock. Guys have feelings too Regan!!! I couldn’t dislike her though, Regan was independent, and actually she was cast into a role that is reserved for men most of the time: Aloof, somewhat brooding, and totally in charge. It was a nice reversal that put a different spin on the romance.

Brock and Regan didn’t look like they had much to go on besides an insane physical attraction to one another but Robert used that to give these two characters a chance to develop something more lasting. It wasn’t an easy fix and Regan put up one hell of a fight which at times could be tiring but definitely made the ending worthwhile.

Final Verdict: Brazen and Katee Robert together don’t disappoint. Brock and Regan had plenty of heat together and with their friends thrown in, there was plenty of hijinks and laughter to be had.
