I'm no book reviewer so my review is simply based on my love of reading and this book.
This is a story about many different people who all have one thing in common... a seed. It's a story to make you think about life and human nature, about love and how we often don't see how we impact on each other and the world around us. It's a book about human frailty but also about the strength and determination to do right.
So rarely does a book have such an emotional impact on me, and how rare it is to read a book that really makes me think and feel.
'if' is a short read and well worth the time. It's story line is quite unique from anything I've read before and I really did enjoy the characters. Some things are left to the imagination but I think this is where the author cleverly leaves space for the reader to think and form their own opinions.
'if' left me wondering what to read next as I really don't want to spoil the experience with something less than this. Definitely one of my favourite books of all time.

I liked this book. I thought it was cute. It also wasn't too long and I really enjoyed the voice of a narrator.
The book is a story within a story and in the end they tie together.
It makes nods to religion, so being that I am not a religious person you can say that I entered into this book with some trepidation. However, it was not preachy at all, nor did it go on about God and creation myths as I worried it might.
Instead it offered another myth to consider, what if...
The underlying theme of the book, IMO, is that it's not about this or that religion, it is about loving one another. That we are pieces of our creator, and in that way we are gods in the making. What do we need to do to save the world and claim our godhood? We are here for a secret purpose and that is...
I find this closely aligned with the things I believe, so I enjoyed this book. I have often said that organized religion is stupid and terrible. It makes people do terrible things and act horribly to other people. If there is a God out there I like to think that he's more concerned with having us love one another and be kind...rather than what we are allowed to do or wear or say, or how much we pray or go to church.

at first, the writing was too wordy, and there are details i'd rather cross out if i were to edit the text, but all in all, the story was interesting enough that i didn't sleep until i've finished reading. i knew the plot was plain but the author managed to keep me wanting to know what's next

Somewhat of a parable, with a suitably enigmatic ending. I'm not sure this is really my kind of thing, but it was definitely different, jumping around in time with some nice mystical touches.
I did cringe at the dialogue in the pub, though. That really does need some polishing.

An interesting book. Reminded me of the magic realism genre though I'm not entirely sure that's what I'd categorise it as. I liked the style of the writing.
There was an obvious religious theme to the book which was kind of lost on me, but I liked the way that it sort of linked religions like Christianity and Buddhism.
It was a pretty quick read, though rather weird in places. I liked the mythical element but would've liked some more of the questions to be answered, like the man who was killed at the beginning.
