If you are looking for something short and heart warming to read at Christmas time then try this Amish story. Just the cover is enough to put you into the spirit of the season and the story does it too.

Christmas at Pebble Creek is part of a series but it is also complete in itself. The simpler way of life of the Amish families is portrayed beautifully as is the romance between Grace and Adam.

I have not read any of this author's books before but Pebble Creek is now on my list.

This short Christmas romance story is a very quick read and gives a short glimpse in to the lives of Vanetta Chapman's Pebble Creek characters. I now look forward to reading the other books in this series.

This is a lovely short story about a young Amish maiden who finally learns not to hide her talents under a bushel.

The snowy scenes and amusements are well depicted and I like the characters. A few basic recipes round off the tale. Enjoy.

Christmas at Pebble Creek is such a sweet update on the life of Grace. She is now a grown woman, instead of the sweet little girl growing up in the Pebble Creek series. I really enjoyed this quick read that provided a window into her adult life and a little glimpse at the lives of her parents and siblings.

Christmas at Pebble Creek is available as a free ebook download at:
CBD: http://www.christianbook.com/Christia...

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Pebbl...

Barnes and Noble: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/chris...

This Pebble Creek series consists of three full length books and two free novellas. All are extremely well-written and I highly recommend them all.

A Touching Read!

How thrilled I was to read about one of my favorite characters, Grace Miller, from the Pebble Creek Amish Series. Little Grace is all grown up and working as a teaching assistant. I was happy to read she still has her passion for drawing.

Imagine my surprise to find out that she is seriously dating Adam Lapp. Is romance in the air?

As the story continues an English stranger by the name of Audrey comes into Grace’s life quite by accident. Little does Grace know that this stranger is about to change her life.

I was not surprised by the tears that filled my eyes at the end of this short story. Vannetta Chapman has done it again. She made me cry!

Thanks Vannetta for this wonderful good short story!

This review is featured on my blog: Writerly Bookish Stuff.

I have not read the Pebble Creek series, so I went into this ebook with fresh eyes. This is a very short read, and as I am unfamiliar with the Amish lifestyle, I did enjoy reading the certain language differences and cultural differences, even if some of those cultural difference are not what I agree with. A little more backstory would help readers who are new to Grace's story.

It was a pleasant read. There was nothing that overly stood out for me, and nothing that I particularly disliked about it. It is well written and edited, but it is simply not to my reading interest.

I'm a sucker for a nice Amish story. This one was a very cutesy short story that I rate as 'okay' because I would have liked a little more development. It read more like a first draft than a fully developed story.

Christmas at Pebble Creek is the last story in this series; we are blessed that this is another free short story available in digital format for Vannetta’s readers.

Ms. Chapman mentions on her blog today that after writing the three books, she loved the Pebble Creek stories and they did so well that Harvest House agreed to let her write two FREE short stories (one to introduce the series and one to wrap it up). You can read about this and more about Vanetta Chapman on her website.

What a fine ending…

Vannetta does an excellent job ending the series. This short story begins with Grace, daughter to Gabe and Miriam, who is all grown up and in a courtship with Adam Lapp.

Christmas is coming… how will Grace and Adam celebrate? When they meet an Englisch lady who has been searching for Grace, what surprises will the future hold? Will Grace be tempted away from the Amish way of life? Will she leave Adam to pursue a career in the Englisch world?

Many new exciting events take place in this story, but rest assured everyone ends up having a Happy Christmas.

To quote Vannetta…

“It’s the Christmas story, isn’t it? And the ending is always one of grace.”

Read it – just read it. You’ll be blessed, just as I was blessed.

"Christmas at Pebble Creek" was my introduction to the Pebble Creek Amish Series by Vannetta Chapman. I enjoyed the story so much that I'm sure it won't be my last story in the series. It was Christmas Eve in the Amish community of Pebble Creek, and when teaching assistant Grace Miller left school that day, little did she know that her life was about to change dramatically. She and her beau Adam Lapp joined another couple for an afternoon of snowshoeing. Afterwards, the two encountered a stranded motorist named Audrey, who Grace invited to dinner with her family while Audrey waited to be picked up by a coworker. And afterwards, nothing would be the same again for Grace, but to say much more would be a spoiler.

I loved the characters - the Amish with their family-oriented, down-to-earth ways, reminiscent of a life that most Americans can only read about now. Narrated from Grace's point of view, the story moved quickly with no wasted words to a surprise ending that was very satisfying. It was a marvelous introduction to the Pebble Creek Amish.

This was a very short story, almost like it could have been an added series of scenes in one of the full length novels in the series, but it was quite good. I liked how the author skirted the three full length books in the series, not really going into much detail about them. If I hadn't done my research into this series, I could have seen this as a standalone introduction to the series. I think it fits in quite well if you read the full length novels first then this book, but I read it right after A Promise for Miriam and was not confused at all. Well worth the read and props to the author for making this more of a standalone tie in to the series rather than have the series be required reading in order to understand this story!

Love, loss, and family

Christmas at Pebble Creek is a short story by Vanetta Chapman. This story tells of great love but not just between a young Amish couple but also a great teacher, Bena and her assistant Grace Lapp. I enjoyed getting a glimpse back at some of the characters in The Pebble Creek Amish series.

The story even though it was short had a wonderful theme to it. I was happy to see that a chance encounter on Christmas Eve was a step for Grace to continue what she loves so much, drawing.

I was given a complimentary eBook copy of this book to read. I was not approached by anyone to post a favorable review. I have rated this book with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story.

Congratulations to Vanetta Chapman on delivering another outstanding story for her readers to enjoy.

This is the story of Gracie and Adam, two young Amish people who are falling in love. It is such a cute story. I’m not usually a reader of Amish stories, this was a perfect introduction!!
Gracie is a teacher’s assistant and artist who sells her drawings in town. One wintry day after coming back from a day spent with friends, she and Adam help a stranded motorist. Taking her back to her parent’s house, they are surprised to discover that the woman has in fact, been looking for Gracie. She’s a book editor who had been given a picture drawn by Gracie, and would love to employ Gracie as an illustrator.
Have I piqued your interest? Will this Amish young woman take a job working for the Englisch? Will she and Adam get married? If you like Amish romances, clean reads, New Adult stories, then I definitely recommend!

This was my first Goose Creek novel and I found it to be a lighthearted and entertaining Christmas read. From a Christmas decoration nightmare to a husband with a secret, there is a lot going on in this small town! The characters are delightful, and I particularly found Al easy to relate to. Having not read any other books in the the series, I did find that knowledge of some things and people were understandably assumed. However, I didn't find that this confused me at all, and I just had to accept that there was back story and introduction in earlier books that I wasn't party to. All in all I enjoyed this delightful little novel.

My favorite character from Vannetta Chapman's Pebble Creek Amish series is sassy Grace Miller. She is all grown up with a wonderful story to tell. I love how Vannetta intertwines Englischer lives with the Amish showing that our basic needs are the same. A faith in God who blesses our lives richly and foresees our needs before we are aware of them and He provides according to that need. Vannetta writes fiction full of grace and this short story continues that tradition. A must-read anytime of the year! Enjoy!

Chapman has an amazing talent of writing short yet utterly precious ebooks that put her readers in the perfect mood for Christmas!! This one is filled with snow, adventure, and Grace's transition from one job to another in a sweet short story. It's hard to believe that Grace is all grown up and falling in love, but it's wonderful to see this brief update of her life and characters from the Pebble Creek Series :) I highly recommend reading the first 3 books before this one, it's easier to appreciate the story that way. This short story is sweet, magical, and perfectly done!

This short ebook is just that--a complete teaser. It leaves you wanting to know more about the characters in Pebble Creek. If you have read Vannetta's Pebble Creek series, it was nice to revisit the former characters and be reminded of where you first read about them. Just wish it was a complete stand alone book to continue--finished too quickly. Loved the Pebble Creek series! I would have to say that Grace Miller is my favorite as she was in the first book about Miriam. Still love that book and Grace has come so far!

"Christmas at Pebble Creek is only a few pages?" you ask. Although the answer is yes, don't let that stop you from reading it, because you'll definitely be missing out. Christmas at Pebble Creek tells the story of one of the most endearing characters of Vannetta Chapman's Pebble Creek series. Grace. And those few pages tell Grace's story beautifully. You'll see Pebble Creek through the eyes of Grace, and you won't be disappointed.

I have never read any of the Pebble Creek series, but was looking for a short story with a Christmas read and pulled this one from Amazon. The story is short but I felt a good length. It is a complete story to me with enough teaser to make you want to read the full Pebble Creek series. I look forward to reading more.

A sweet finale to the Pebble Creek series. It’s a very short read but I loved catching up with Grace and seeing where the characters were at 10 years later. Enjoyed!
