As a big fan of teenagers with supernatural powers, I was drawn to this book by it's catchy cover and name.

More Than Human (or MTH) is a great take on this genre. Georgia is aware of her powers from the moment she was born and it was nice to read a book where the main character doesn't have to "learn" to use their powers.

The book explores Georgia's discovery of other teenagers with abilities and consequently her discovery of the Alterworld, which is a truly interesting place. You may think that if you've read one book about alternative dimensions or planes that you've read them all, but I really enjoyed reading about the Alterworld and I can't wait to read more.

The book is set in the modern day and I feel the interactions between the characters reflect this. The characters often use text messaging and such to communicate, and the author has used this to her advantage to provide realistic interactions and reactions to events.

Overall I think Alterworld is a really good book. I feel that if you enjoy the "teenagers with powers" genre, you'll really enjoy this book.

Bonus: She is an Australian author.

Note: A copy of this book was provided to me for review purposes.

Georgia is a weredingo, unaware of the Alterworld until she was introduced to the forum More Than Human. Throughout the book many characters are involved in saving Georgia's best friend, Tiff. This rescue helps the reader to find out more about characters how they mix a normal Overworld life with a secret, magical Alterworld life.

I gave this book 4 stars because although enjoyable and creative, I didnt feel as if I knew the characters in depth. I loved reading about the Alterworld and the characters were so imaginative and different to the usual magical characters. Further into the novel I often felt confused whilst jumping between scenes and spent time having to remember what previously happened. I am intreaged to find out what will happen next.

I recieved a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
