I’m Marie Coulson, writer and creator of the Bound Together series.

Born and bred in England, I discovered my love for writing when I was a mere child. Beginning with poetry and short stories, I soon discovered my flare and passion for the written word.
After pursuing a career in childcare, education and the care of the elderly, I left my job in the summer of 2012. It was at this point I finally sat down to write a novel that had been plotted for nearly three years. Only three months later…Bound Together was born.

I bought this book, went straight to the end to see how it ended....SHOCKER I am not surprised by the ending. Since book 1 this author has been extremely vocal in which guy was her favorite and personally that pissed me off. When I read the first book, I couldn't figure out why everyone was so in love with Ollie. Ollie & Layla had absolutely no chemistry. All her chemistry was with Jared! At the end of Bound Together Amy & Mel told Layla to make a choice. Told her to close her eyes and picture who she wanted and choose. She chose Jared and flew to NYC to see him. Then we get Ollie's Christmas Novella.....his whoa is me story.....What pissed me off more than anything about this little Novella was the fact that Amy & Mel told Layla to choose she did and they they push Ollie to chase after her. They had no respect for Layla & Jared's relationship. Then you get to Burning Up....another one I went straight to the end to and again SHOCKER guess who Layla chose!!! She couldn't forgive Jared for all the stuff he did wrong...but wait for in here comes book 3 and basically Ollie is the scum bag of the earth. Drugged up fucking coke head who pushed his WIFE away. Now Layla is married to the man she has no chemistry with, he is a coke head, verbally abusive to her BUT she can forgive him?? I absolutely HATE Layla! She strung Jared along even in book 3 they had so much chemistry and he would do anything for her and she had the balls to call him the safe bet?? Oh so he is bossy and kinky that is to safe for her she would rather have a verbally abusive coke head!

Oh and yes Jared gets himself a girl,.....It was so fucking last minute thrown together just to shut up the Jared fans! This Jared fan is NOT happy and this book SUCKED!! Let's be honest the whole series did! This series pissed me off like no other. I am not sure why she bothered with two more books we knew Layla would end up with Ollie, so instead of spending what 4.00 the author should of just confirmed it!

4 Rock and Roll Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane

At the end of Marie Coulson's Burning Up, Layla had made her decision to be with Ollie Green, the rock star. I have always been #TeamJared so this one really hurt. Coming Down picks up where Burning Up left us and Ollie's band is taking off. The money is pouring in, the groupies are everywhere and the paparazzi can't get enough.

Things seem good between Layla and Ollie but she senses something is off. But she has school on her mind, and wants to graduate from college and she is blind to things she should be seeing. Jared and Ollie are still bitter rivals and their confrontations are behind Layla's back.

While Ollie should be on top of the world he is still insecure about Layla and Jared's influence on her. This causes him to do stupid things that have the potential to destroy his career, his relationship with Layla and his health.

There are lots of happy times for the couple and taking their relationship to the next level makes sense. Add alcohol to the mix and sometimes people make crazy, rash decisions. But that doesn't mean that those have to be bad decisions.

When the truth about what Ollie has been up to came out, it was really heartbreaking to read these chapters. I thought this was where Coulson's writing really was edgy and dark and deliciously angsty. Layla proves to herself and everyone around her that she can be strong and brave and resourceful. She is not the pretty packaged doll with cotton for a brain that many have previously thought.

There is more character development for the band members, although I despise Shaye and even when her own history was exposed and it was raw and painful, she is one character I won't miss. She grated on my nerves and was just a bitch. Pure and simple.

Although Layla, Ollie and Jared's story is over (and no I am not divulging who she ended up with-I will say all three found their HEA) there are some colorful characters in Ollie's band and reading their stories wouldn't be any hardship, that's for sure.

I made the decision to look at the ending. I never do that, but really the outcome of this love triangle was too important to me. The bottom line is, it doesn't end how I want it to and for that I can't finish it. I won't rate the book because that would be unfair, but to say I'm disappointed, is an understatement.

I was never invested in Layla. She messed around with two guys hearts and whether she redeemed herself by the end or not, for me the damage was done. It is also my belief that the guy that lost out to her (or maybe it's his gain) doesn't really get the HEA I was hoping for. For me book remains unfinished.

I know the outcome is probably what a lot hoped but you are always going to get some people not happy when you have a love triangle situation where some people are #TeamJared and some #TeamOllie. Sadly for me, it wasn't my team that won.

I wish the author every success in the future and really do think she is a talented writer, it was just that there was only one ending for me, so this review is in no way a bad one against her, its just I'm genuinely gutted!

So I loved & hated this book at times & I am beyond happy with the ending of Layla's story. It was full of angst, love, hate, suffering & redemption. Layla was at times annoying but she wouldn't be Layla with out her drama queen ways. Ollie was a total douchbag at times but had his reasons & he does get his s**t together. Jared was amazing. All the supporting characters were at times not cool but all had an important role to play. This book made me so mad at times & so happy at other times. There are some really gorgeous scenes & some not so nice scenes. The epilogue was great & beautiful. These are all the reasons why I both loved & hated it lol. But I will read it again, I love the whole series. I'm totally satisfied with it. If u have an open mind read this series now!!! It is very obvious Marie has put her whole being into this series & deserves a huge pat on the back!!!

This is the final book of Layla's journey. She's found love twice and one is an everlasting love through all the trials and tribulations. My heart ached throughout this novel. I had to take many breaks because Layla's friendship with Jared was producing locusts in my stomach as was Ollie's behavior and hurtful words...you heard that right, definitely not butterflies, the type that makes you feel you might get sick! I was baffled beyond words when we found out Ollie's troubles. I worried at first but when Layla approached this topic once, my mind chose to forget it after that. The locusts were a result of my anxiety about cheating...on both Layla and Ollie's parts. I was hoping Layla, Ollie, and Jared's lives would be more "under control" in this novel. But that's where Marie waves her magna-angst magic wand. I'll be re-reading this entire series for an unspeakable amount of time because as the novels and novella leading to this novel do with each re-read, the knot Marie's writing puts in my stomach has never faded over time. In regards to the flow of the novel, the transition between chapters seemed choppy which relates to my finding that lengths of time between various events was unclear to me also. In addition, with Layla making her official choice between Ollie and Jared in this novel I was hoping for a more solid foundation to be built moving forward into their future. With the jump in time between chapters, we didn't get to see much for Ollie's recovery and their filling of the hikes in their relationship. Choosing which star to rate this novel was difficult because my physiological reaction to the storyline would rate it a 5, but my thoughts on the flow of the novel and the off and on without finding a solid foundation has me rating Coming Down a 4. Ollie will forever be my #1 book boyfriend and I will miss him immensely. Give this a try and find your next book crush!!

This has been one of my highly anticipated reads so I kept it aside for my summer holiday reading as a special treat to myself.

So in a nutshell, book one was pretty much Layla and Jared’s story and book two was Layla and Ollie’s story. Readers were very divided between either team Jared or team Ollie. Personally, I was undecided, I just wanted Layla to be happy and with the man she loved, completely.

This book begins where book two ended, Layla is very much with Ollie as he sets off on his dream of being a rock star. They may have just got together but they are now spending more time apart than they ever have. The issue of trust seems to be the elephant in the room between them, they both struggle with the implications of this.

Jared returns from his overseas trip and Layla spends time with him as she struggles with the loneliness she feels from Ollie’s absence.

This book takes Layla on a huge emotional journey as she has to deal with a lot of life changing situations, she has choices to make, some of them left me scratching my head wondering what the hell she was doing/thinking but at the end I was happy with the outcome of the story and feel that peaceful sense of closure.

“The safe, steady and reliable path that you can count on to take you where you want to be.
Or the path unknown?”

It was horrible the first two books were amazing this one was awful i hated it. I found myself just looking over the pages instead of reading, just to see how it ends. The icing on the cake is that it didn't even end the way i wanted it to. If you've been waiting for this book like i have don't get your hopes up.

Glad to finally read this book. The ending left me wanting more. It felt rushed. I enjoyed the story of Ollie and Layla but I wanted to know more about their HEA. I wanted to read more about their relationship when things were actually going well. I did enjoy it, no doubt about it.

What the Fuck? First 2 books were great, Layla frustrated me a lot but still good story and then the third book just fucks it up! I am super disappointed with the ending. Imagine Lois Lane picks Jimmy the photographer instead of Superman. Seriously Marie the Emo kid?

Does contain spoiler* I did not like the first book of this series and almost quit reading it and then I sneaked a peek at the descriptions of book 2 & 3 and kept reading did a lot of skimming. I do think book 2 & 3 are way better than book 1. Definitely worth reading. I have mixed feelings on how things turned out. Ollie just ended up pissing me off and Jared made me happy. She could not go back to Jared again so I think it ended up probably the way it should have but I'm not sure Ollie deserved her in the end and it was very abrupt I feel like more time should have passed for the epilogue ending.

This was the end of the trilogy and it was so-so (all the books in this saga are the same: to much fellings, so little argument and logic). I was glad the love triangle was solved and ended but It was a very abrupt ending. The same with the end, it was super rushed. I dont recomend it.

The topic of addiction is heavy in this book. Overall, the story was great and wrapped up in a pleasing way. I was happy to see the jealousy change a bit in this book.

Marie writes raw and real characters. In fact, that is one of the reasons why I loved Coming Down so much. Her writing is brutally honest. The characters in her stories reflect real people with real problems. Life is not sugarcoated and her writing is true to life. Marie delivers writing that will keep you hooked, make you gasp, smile, cry and in the end, leave you satisfied.

Coming Down was an amazing read. Honestly, it consumed me. I became a fan of this series and this book was one of my most anticipated reads. Coming Down starts off right where Burning Up leaves you. Ollie’s dreams of becoming a rock star have come true. Layla has decided Ollie is her man. Let me warn you, there are many unexpected moments in this book. Honestly, it was those moments that made me love it more. As a fan of Marie’s writing, I was glad to see the edgy, dark side of her characters. After all, she wrote about the life of a rock star. I expected and longed for the real, graphic and intense moments that are brought to life in this book.

When I think about this book, I think about sacrifice; the kind of sacrifices that a person makes to help the ones that they love. It is important to understand the reasons why people do what they do for others. You definitely created many moments for the reader to actually analyze and understand that premise in this book.

Layla has so much going on in her life now. Managing college life and Ollie are quite difficult. However, she proves to be a mature woman, one that I was glad to see thrive in this book. I found myself rooting for her the entire time.

Your series wouldn’t be complete without all of the wonderful characters that have supported Layla. Her friends Mel and Amy continue to stand by her and are what you call “real friends.” Their roles were significant in this book and I enjoyed reading about them and watching their own relationships and lives flourish.

Shaye, from the band pissed me off several times but I found myself liking, understanding, and ultimately admiring her. It’s safe to say, don’t judge someone until you truly get to know them.

Jared, oh this gorgeous powerful man didn’t disappoint me either. He made me smile several times in this book. He too turned out to be so much more than I expected. One would think that with their history of back and forth he would turn out to be bitter. Instead, he shines in this book. I’m so glad you created him. Layla is a lucky lady.

Finally, let me talk about Ollie. I fell in love with this rock star the very first time I met him in the first book in this series. Holy hotness! #TeamOllie. Sorry Jared, the rock star stole my heart. Watching him evolve, chase his dreams, love, live and …… Well, you are going to have to read this book yourself. No spoilers from me. But, I will say this; the ending will most definitely make you smile.

“Love is the strongest force on earth. It has the ability to crush us and build us up to highs we never dreamed possible. You have the biggest heart I have ever known, baby and it’s filled to the brim with love. If anyone can help that boy get his life back…it’s you. I believe in you, Layla and I’m so proud of you for standing by his side. I know it’s not easy.”

Again, I loved this book and highly recommend it. Coming Down is not a stand-alone read so be sure to read the previous books in this series.

I gave this book 5 stars and I look forward to reading more of Marie’s top notch writing.

Wow so much to say about this book. Marie took me all over the place with our tumultuous little love triangle, didn't she. So much happened. And she pulled so many emotions out of us as readers, and the characters.

My reactions are all over the place. I'm mad. I'm happy. I'm shocked. I'm elated. I'm scared. I'm wowed. I'm nervous. I'm all over.

Jared shocked me, his growth, his change. I'm wowed by it at the same time. Layla's strength and change makes me happy. OLLIE. Oh dear OLLIE. He has me nervous and mad, so so so mad, and happy and shocked and scared and ... Just stunned. Shaye has me pissed, and I wanted to hate her for how she acted. But as the story continued, I couldn't. With OLLIE, I want to be mad and stay mad and just hate him. But I can't. Because he's Ollie. His love for Layla, granted his love and obsession became for something else and he broke my heart, I still find I can't hate him for his choices or actions. I can't remain mad or sad. I'm kinda proud he got over it. Kinda proud he got better, maybe not because he wanted to but he did. And layla. Wow. Talk about growing up. I feel like in the first two books she was so immature and granted she was young, in this book she grew up and was the mature one. I wish her relationship with Ollie had a stronger foundation but, her choices made that. And I feel like she recognized she couldn't change it. It may have hurt them, but it kind of also made her stronger. Maybe made him weaker in a way, but her stronger. I feel like in no way are these the characters we met in book one, they've all grown so much since the beginning.

Marie delivers the smooth flow of her normal books. The emotional read that sucks you in. A 4 star read

Ollie and Layla really go through a lot of different struggles in this book. Layla was still a self-centered, dysfunctional and bratty person throughout this book. Ollie was trying his best to be a better man for her but wasn't sure he could compete with Jared which just exacerbates a new problem that Ollie is having with his pain medication becoming a crutch for him. Layla knows that Ollie is struggling but ignores the warning signs of addiction until it becomes almost too late to help Ollie. Ollie was in such denial that he almost lost everything. Shaye, Nick and Eric were not the best friends to him throughout this book and I kind of felt it was shitty how little they told Layla about what was happening on the road. Mel and Amy butted into Layla's business so much that it was annoying. Layla could not make up her mind throughout most of this book what she wanted and her escapade in the bathroom at Benny's with Shaye was just the final straw for me. The woman was controlled by her libido for most of this book again and, for someone with her degree, that just seems so unlikely. The epilogue was a nice ending and I was glad to see Jared, Ollie and Layla get a happy ending.

Coming Down by Marie Coulson

I Fucking love this series and was so excited to get coming down, but this has got to be the hardest book I have ever had to review. All because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Ok so in burning up it end with:

" I watched as Ollie boarded the bus, and my heart pounded while my stomach churned. The tables had been turned on me, and now I was the one left wondering where I stood. The irony wasn’t lost on me."

"This was going to be the longest three months of my life"

Layla had finally decided it was Ollie that had her heart, but now Ollie was about to be thrust into the world of celebrities.

Can these two survive, apart from one another or will Layla run back into Jared's arms?

Layla loves both of these men but the love she has is different for each one and reading this book you see how she can love them both.

The old gang is in this book Mel, Amy, Eric and Nick also an unwelcome Shaye. There are some laughs and some secrets revealed.

There is also some heartbreaking moments that had me crying and a part that had me howling with laughter, very clever Miss Coulson

oh my nerves, this book had me on the edge of my seat!!! This is the conclusion to the love triangle of Layla, Jared and Ollie. In the first book of the series I was gunning for the one character to win, then in book 2 I decided well, they both deserve the girl so I would be happy with who ever got her, but right before I started Coming Down I made my decision and changed teams. This book had me feeling every emotion. I laughed, cried, and many many times wanted to throw my kindle. It's been a while since I read a book that had my nerves so messed up. In the end, I'm happy I changed teams and my man won. The ending was perfect for this trilogy, everyone got their HEA, it did leave me wanting more, which always seems to happen when I love the characters.I hope maybe we can get a peek into their future with a novella.

Well finished at 2am. What a great end of story. Loved all if the characters. She took time to expound on each and this only added to the overall depth of bond and made all of actions more understanding and created yet another level of depth to the entire story.I enjoyed the books level, no unrealistic manic emotional crap for most part, no pushover girls, no rabid haters so when Mel gets a little over that just stood out from the rest of the books, loved her up until then. Loved the lyrics to the songs Ollie wrote. Scenes written about her experience at the concert in London indicated so realistically. Jared, wow he is amazing in this book! Enjoy this book!

I'm still in shock over this book. I still thought that maybe she would end up with Jared, but I had a feeling she would stay with Ollie. I can't believe he was doing drugs. You had an idea all along when you found out he was on pain pills. But I felt like we didn't really get a HEA with this book at all. He detoxes with the group, then they go back to going on tour, then the baby is delivered, but nothing much more than that. No real emotion or re connection is discussed. I did really enjoy this series, but I am feeling unsatisfied after finishing it.

OMG, is this book for real??
The first two were ok (not great) but this one...
Layla is a slut that gets hot for everybody and with anything, including ther husband female band mate,
She doesn't know what the hell she wants, she is married to Ollie but still have the hots for Jared, her husband has all the signs of a drug addict and she doesn't notice, the girl that's been dripping all over her husband becomes a savior at the end, she gets pregnant (that's new -sarcasm tone-) and they all become a happy family (really).

Ok so this is not a "meh" 3 stars. It's not a "just ok" 3 stars. It's an "is this 1 star or 5 stars" type of situation. Ugh!!! I am probably one if the least judgemental readers out there but this was just too much. I mean, I get that things happen, and life isn't perfect, and characters have their journey, but...I don't know. I just can't wrap my head around this one. I enjoyed it because I love the characters and am invested in the characters and how their story turns out but...yeah...that's about all I've got...

Ollie and Layla fInally

After everything they have been through...Ollie and Layla are finally together. The only problem is that their pasts are never that far behind either. Learning to trust again is hard but when you add in a rock star lifestyle, your best friend being your ex and addiction...it's hard to learn to trust again.

I was so happy to see Ollie and Layla together. And the heartache they had to endure to reach their HEA was tough to read at times. Loved this Series!!
