Razel Dazzle, a modern twist on a long haired tale....
Elizabeth Morgan is a multi-published author of urban fantasy, paranormal, erotic horror, f/f, and contemporary; all with a degree of romance, a dose of action and a hit of sarcasm, sizzle or blood, but you can be sure that no matter what the genre, Elizabeth always manages to give a unique and often humorous spin to her stories.
Like her tagline says; A pick ‘n’ mix genre author. “I’m not greedy. I just like variety.”
And that she does, so look out for more information on her upcoming releases at her website: www.e-morgan.com
Away from the computer, Elizabeth can be found in the garden trying hard not to kill her plants, dancing around her little cottage with the radio on while she cleans, watching Netflix or curled up with her cats reading a book.
This was such a fun and sexy read! Its a very short novel so its for an easy and quick uplift read. I was overjoyed to discover it was a rapunzel retelling, i love retellings! E. Morgan is a master at playing out chemistry between the characters, I must say I was blushing while reading! This is my second novel by the author and I will definitely be reading more.
I love adult fairy tale retellings, so already that's a huge plus for this book as far as I'm concerned and I jumped at the chance to read it :D
The thing I love most about it is the concept. I would never have placed Rapunzel as a modern day fashion model and have her prince as the photographer, and the way the evil 'mother' came to be integrated in the story was such a pleasure to read. You're clearly reading Rapunzel - that dark tale we all know and love - and I gobbled up every second of it.
If you're not into shorter stories, I implore you to forget that this is a 25,000-ish word novella and give it a go, because Elizabeth Morgan gives the characters a huge background and a lot of depth for a short novel. Her prose is descriptive and flows easily off the pages.
In essence, what you are getting is a feel-good, fairy-tale romance, and if this is what you're looking for, it will not disappoint! It's 45 minutes of forgetting the real world.
At the time of writing this, Razel Dazzle (love the title!) is listed as $0.99. For that price, this is an absolute steal not to be missed.
Disclaimer: I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. (But make no mistake - I ASKED for the ARC because I so wanted to read it :D)
This is a short, modern, sexy retelling of Rapunzel. Having read a few of this author's books in the past, I decided to give this novella a try. I really enjoyed it.
Razel D'Punz is a likable character. I admired her silent rebelling against a very domineering mother/agent. She is one of the top models in the world and is in high demand. Unfortunately, due to her mother's strict control, she is not able to have a life outside of modelling. When she meets Matthew Price at a photo shoot, she is deeply attracted to him.
Matthew Prince is also a likable character. He is a new up and coming photographer and when he lands one of the biggest clients in the form of Razel, he knows he's made it. However, he didn't anticipate his attraction to her.
Gabriella D'Punz, Razel's mother/agent, is a real piece of work. I have no idea if she is a witch or an actual b*tch. I would have loved to know what, in her past, made her be so coldly competitive and manipulative. However, with this being a short story, her background wasn't explored. This is a character I love to hate.
I started reading and was quickly hooked. The story is told through the eyes of both Razel and Matthew. I loved the way the story unfolded. However, I found it a little rushed, especially near the end. Razel is supposed to be quite sheltered, but I found her to be a daring rebel and more worldly than I'd expected. I enjoyed the way Razel and Matthew's relationship developed. They burn up the pages! However, being this is a novella, their relationship had to develop quickly and I'm not a huge fan of insta-love. I would have loved for this story to be extended into a full novel to show a gradual romance and to give the characters more chance of character development, and also a reunion with Razel's real parents to give it a more satisfying ending (in my opinion). Other readers may disagree, so I will leave it up to you to decide for yourself.
Elizabeth Morgan has written an intriguing novella. I love her fast paced writing style. Unfortunately, because of the rushed end, I felt the flow was a little uneven. Having said that, I am a fan of her of her contemporary and paranormal romances and am looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.
Due to scenes of an explicit sexual nature, as well as some bad language, I do not recommend this book for readers under the age of 18. I do, however, highly recommend this book if you love erotica, contemporary romance or erotic re-tellings of fairytales . - Lynn Worton
I've been wanting to read this short story since I first read the blurb, and I'm really glad I got the chance to.
Although it is a short story, coming at just under 100 pages, there is a considerable amount of world and character building in this modern twist of a well known fairy tale.
Razel is THE most sought after model in the world. She's beautiful, rich, famous. She has everything a young woman could ever possibly want. Or does she? Prisoner in her golden cage, Razel dreams of rebelling, of independence and excitement, but most of all, she dreams of freedom. When she meets up-and-coming photographer Matthew Prince, sparks practically fly between them. He's talented, handsome, but he's also warm and kind. They can't resist each other, but Razel's mother and agent, the icy Gabriella D'Punz, stands between them. Can Razel overcome her fears and break out of the luxurious prison that has been built around her?
For me, there is one tell tale sign of a good short story: layers. You can read Razel Dazzle as a sexy and romantic romp, and go away perfectly satisfied by the story. But you can also go deeper. There are some interesting concepts explored, and some dark places that are described. The "mother-daughter" relationship between Gabriella and Razel is very well written, and, without giving away any spoilers, I was very happy about the way it was dealt with. Of course, being only a short novelette, there is a limit to what we can see and experience through the eyes of the characters, but the double point of view (Razel's and Matthew's) works really well and helps, in my opinion, in giving the world a bit more dimension.
All in all it is a lovely take on the Rapunzel fairy tale, modernized in a credible and relevant way, a little darker, a lot steamier, but ultimately, a very sweet and uplifting story.
I consider myself happily entertained...ever after ;)
Razzle Dazzle gives a spicy, innovative update to a classic fairy tale. I loved the idea of Razel D'Punz, the modern day Rapunzel, as a super model with signature fabulous long hair. Her controlling mother/agent provides the perfect witch character keeping Razel trapped in her 'ivory tower' of excruciatingly busy work schedule surrounded by her adoring public. Making the handsome prince into photographer Matthew Prince is also inspired. I loved the ideas behind Razel Dazzle, I thought the writing was clever and that despite being very short it provided a satisfying punchy little read. What I struggled with was the character of Razel herself - Razel has been kept away from real life and has only managed to have one romantic relationship in her short (twenty-one year old) life. Despite this the character is sexually very astute and controlling. She manipulates the situation with Matthew, making elaborate plans to get him alone then dropping him callously. I didn't feel this really fitted with her character - or if it did I didn't feel I had been given enough background to make me believe it.
I actually found I didn't like Razel particularly and although I was happy for her to escape her mother and find romance with Matthew it was more because I liked him as a character and wanted his happiness. His feelings and insecurities seem to be better explored than Razel's do. (For example it would have been great to have seen her actually chop off her own hair rather than just being told she had and if we had experienced her finding her own adoption papers it would have had more impact and helped us to understand her character).
This all said I did really enjoy Razel Dazzle. I read it all at one go - it's a very short novella an easy read and well worth a go.
If you liked "once upon a times" and "happy ever afters" as a child, then you will love Elizabeth Morgan's sexy version of a classic fairy tale. Razel Dazzle is a sizzling contemporary retelling of Repunzel, complete with a beautiful princess, evil mother and charming prince.
Razel D' Punz is the hottest, mega model in the business, groomed from a very early age by her mother and founder of Ivory Tower Modeling Agency. Razel knows nothing else of life except for what her mother, Gabriella, orchestrates for her. One day she meets stunning new photographer, Matthew Prince who causes her to reflect on the solitary life forced upon her. Realizing how lonely she really is, Razel knows she has big decisions to make concerning her future. I loved to hate Gabriella, who to me, seemed a very Cruella de Vil-like villain. I found I immediately sympathized with Razel and her plight and cheered her on as she fell for handsome Matthew Prince.
Elizabeth's talent for writing such believable characters drew me in immediately. This fast paced novella was not short on details or action demonstrating a perfect mix of both. The story had just the perfect amount of sizzle to keep my adult tastes satisfied. Razel Dazzle had me hooked from the first chapter. It was a very romantic and fascinating tale in it's own right while also retaining the magic of the original fairy tale.
Reading a book based on a fairy tale, I expected a "happily ever after" and Elizabeth didn't disappoint. She delivered a super story, one I'm sure you will enjoy as much as I did. Angela Aaron Author of Pleasure Island, The Fire of Beltane The Mediterranean Affair
The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a copy of Razle Dazzle from the author for an honest review.
Razle Dazzle is about this girl whose mother named her Razle. Razle's mother is also her agent. Razle is a supermodel. She is her agent before she is her mother. Razle's mother tells her when she can eat, when she can sleep or whatever. Razle's mother is a very bossy woman who thinks everyone should always do what she wants them to do.
She will not even let Razle go out on dates. Well she probably would as long as she approved of the guy. So when Razle has a photo shoot and meets the photographer Matthew Prince and has the hots for him. Which Matthew also has the hots for Razle too. Matthew never thought that he would ever feel what he feels for Razle ever again. He thought that every woman would put him through the same thing that his last girlfriend put him through.
Razle Dazzle has some really hot romantic situations involving Razle and Matthew. Yeah I know I don't usually read books that has hot, steamy romantic situations in it but on occasion I will. After reading the summary on this one there was no way I could turn it down. I am really glad that I decide to read this one. It may be a short story but it reads like a novel. What I mean is that I found out a lot about who Razle, her mother and Matthew were and what kind of person they are.
Razel is a model. But she’s not just any model, she is the supermodel. Matthew is a photographer who is lucky enough to get a shoot with her. And when they see each other there is an instant connection.
But Razel’s mother is a real… bitch. She controls every single aspect of Razel’s life. Every. Single. Aspect.
I didn’t realize at first that this was a bit of a remake of Rapunzel, and I’m not sure why I didn’t. But it’s a cute way to modernize the story. My favorite part of this story was Matthew, the tortured love interest. He was lost without Razel, and I just love the tortured men. However, I wasn’t really a big fan of Razel, herself. She was so very sheltered in her life, I just felt like she didn’t have enough experience to be the type of character I wanted to read about. Razel’s mother was also a treat to read about, being such a horrible and vindictive person. I definitely think there is more story there.
All in all the story was pretty interesting. I wished it were a bit longer, so that there could be more development of and between the characters. But if you are looking for a quick read, this one surely will hit the mark coming in at under 100 pages. And if you are a fan of modernized fairytales, then I definitely recommend this one! Elizabeth Morgan, the author, has a lot of stories in her and I’m just getting started on them. But I already love how different this one was from her other story I’ve reviewed, On The Rocks.
Razel Dazzle is a short re-telling of the Rapunzel story but set in the world of fashion in modern day New York. This book is approximately 68 pages long, but Ms Morgan packs a lot into them.
The first page sucks you into the world of Gabriella D'Punz, a very successful woman who owns the Ivory Tower Modelling Agency, and right from the beginning you know this lady is going to be a nasty piece of work and she does not disappoint.
I felt so sorry for poor Razel being trapped in such a horrible life with a vile woman who is her agent first and mother second; she controls every aspects of Razel's life to the point that the poor girl can't breathe.
The beautiful supermodel has everything she could want, except freedom to live her own life. However, her prince charming, Matthew Prince, comes to rescue her and what a rescue it is! The story moved very quickly but didn't lack in quality which is vital, especially when it's a short story. Ms Morgan is a no nonsense writer who makes every word count and delivers a very immersing story.
Razel Dazzle is romantic and sexy with a happy ending. This is definitely a feel good story! This book gets a full 5 stars: a quick satisfying read...perfect!

Disclosure: This ebook was received from the author for free in exchange for an honest review.
This story is short, and I finished it in one sitting. As you begin to learn about the life of Razel, you're drawn in. I felt so much pity for her in the beginning. Her life was not her own. I was glad to see how her character grew up over the course of the book.
If the story were longer to give more development, I think I would have gotten more attached to the characters. While I liked the relationship between Matthew and Razel, I wasn't too keen on making sure it lasted. For me, it was more of a way for Razel to get away from her controlling mother. The surprise twist at the end really blew my mind. I'm not sure if I bought it, but it was definitely a shocker.
Razel's mother was truly a wicked woman. She was well written as a villain. I think that Elizabeth Morgan has a lot of talent as a writer, and this story shows it. If you're a fan of fairy tale remakes and quick reads, this is definitely a book for you.

Famous for her long, golden hair and beaming smile, Razzle is the hottest model in town. With a Queen Bitch for a Mother and Agent who very controlling mental abusive. A fun short read.
The author offered me a pre-release read of this tale, and I fell in love! With her voice, her capacity to spin and bring a unique twist to a tale we all know, and the characters. Everyone leaps off the page, and no less the baddie in the tale, Gabriella. I loved to hate her throughout the story, eagerly awaiting when she'd get her just desserts. And the hero, Matthew Prince, proved a prince on his white horse, indeed, though he came as a complex man and not a perfect type like one would expect in a fairytale. And Razel herself? You'll love her. Worldly and world-weary with just that touch of innocence and naivete in her heart, you cannot but root for her throughout.
This is one book you do not want to miss! A bite-sized read to be gobbled in a short afternoon, you won't be disappointed.
This book is a modern day take on the fairy tale Rapunzel Let Down Your Hair. Razel is a famous supermodel with long golden hair down to her ankles. Her mother, Gabriela, is the wicked witch. She keeps Razel under so busy and under lock and key that she is not allowed to date or have a moment to her self at the age of 21. Then she meets Mathew Prince (Prince, get it? lol). He is a photographer and she manages to get away and have a one night stand with him. Can she find a way out from under her mothers' thumb to have a life with her prince?
Razel D'Punz is a hugely successful supermodel with an overbearing and controlling mother. One day she meets photographer Matthew Prince who makes Razel want to escape from this so-called life and be her own person without 'Mommie dearest' telling her what to do. But will there be a happy ever after for Razel and Matthew? An interesting and entertaining re-imagining of the classic fairy tale Rapunzel.
A quick read, that ties up the loose ends. Everything and everyone was fine. I will look out for longer reads by this author as I like her writing but this was just a bit too short to get to know the characters.
It's an adult fairytale retelling. I've never read an adult fairy retelling Haha. It was short and sexy! Loved it. I wish it was longer :( because I loved the writing style. Will definitely be reading more books by Morgan!
Cute little insta-love romance. A really nice twist on the Rapunzle story with very loveable and very hateable characters. All in all an entertaining little read.
The sex was nothing to write home about. The whole thing was as shallow as a bowl of milk. It actually followed the fairytale closely except the witch was supposed to attack him. Now that would have been good blackmail material.
