What a wonderful short story The Winter Kitten was by Linda Benson its the first in a series of 7, I really needed something light after the last few books I have read its a short story, well written & highly enjoyable.

After losing her mother to cancer Brianna is heartbroken, now living with her father she is a bit lost living in Portland she hears a noise & becomes quite scared her father gives her a torch to keep her safe.

She eventually calls her neighbour Donna & she tells her that she thinks the noise is a kitty so she gives her a trap to catch it, Brianna tries to see if she can see it but she can't anyway she finally catches it in the trap & its a Calico female she hides it from her father as he hates animals & wont let her keep it she then asks Donna's nephew josh to help her he tries to get the kitty out of the cage but they find its a wild kitty , it scratches Josh's arm he says its okay.

Brianna then remembers what her mother told her get kitty litter, food, water & tries to get the kitties trust she finally names it Mira, what happens from here on in a a heart-warming story of a little girl who will not give up on taming her cat.

I reccomend this cute story for everyone.

A very sweet short story about a girl who has just lost her mom to cancer and is now living with her dad in Oregon. She used to live on a farm but is now living in a city. She had to give away all her animals and one winter day she finds a feral calico kitten.

My Review: "Brianna doesn't know how she'll make it through her first winter in Portland. It rains too much, she misses her mother and the country life they once shared, and with Christmas coming up she's having a hard time adjusting to life with only her dad. When she finds a kitten trapped in their garage, Brianna is sure things will get better. But nothing goes as planned, and Brianna wonders what she's gotten herself into."

My Review: This was such an enjoyable short story. I love how it was rather realistic, the kitten acted like a wild kitten should. I liked seeing how Brianna and her father's relationship developed once they started opening up and talking. I think this is a feel good, warm you up this Christmas kind of book.

cute

Cute but so predictable. Short story best suited for pre teens. It’s about life experiences as well as a kitten. Easy to imagine the scenes and just a sorta mind numbing book some might like to de stress unless your type of destressing is reading a absorbing book that pulls you in. This is definitely not that book.

Originally I was looking forward to reading the other books in this series but it’s a little too kitty ish lol for me! I like children’s books and teen books but this was pretty mediocre. Even as a cat lover…

Miracles really do exist.

It started a bit slow, but I kept reading. Eventually, it got very interesting. That's when it happened- The End.
This story is about a young teen girl who's mother died from cancer. She moves to Portland to live with her dad and begin a life of uncertainty & fear. However, kind neighbors and a feral kitten change all of that. - Tyra Rathje

I enjoyed so much I wish there was more.

Looking forward to seeing more from you. Your character s were interesting yet simple. A little more detail and length would have been better. Loved the kitten. Thanks.

Easy Read

Good short story for young people who like animals. Ending was a bit anticlimactic. Further adventures of Mira and her person would be fun to read.

Don’t give up

The way the girl did not give up on the kitten her love, patience, and hope. The eventual success of her efforts was heart warming.

After her mother died, Brianna had to give up her dogs and life in the country to move to Portland with her father. When a kitten seeks refuge in the garage during a storm, Brianna resolves to tame the kitten and keep it, but worries about whether her father will let her. In addition, the kitten also leads to a new friendship with a neighbor's family, so Brianna doesn't feel quite so lonely.

Not sure if Brianna's method for taming the kitten is the best — anyone in a similar situation should probably seek professional help and advice.

Wildly charming .

I had lots of wild pets when I was a child so can relate. This young lady was used to dogs. It was well written with a young girls perspective. There are several more in this series I'm looking forward to reading.

Heart touching

I was so amazing I just can't explain. A tale of never giving up hope, and getting over the loss of a loved one. While facing problems of her own, this is a great series for humans that love reading, cats ,and never giving up.

Really cute little story. Love cat stories to pick up my day. Enjoyed the simple style and would like to see a sequel. Already downloaded and started second book in the series. All tell original cat stories at different times of the year. Love. Love.

I felt that this book had a writing style more suitable for those around the ages of 11-14,so not for me personally, but it did have a sweet ending.
