1. How did you find reading a book with two alphas as lead?
Cranky 1: I think it’s unusual. Usually, you get the dominant male and the weaker woman, but not this time. Both were equally strong. It was great.
Cranky 2: It was definitely different, but in a good way. Even though they’re both alphas, they complimented each other.
2. What did you think of Jacoby when he was first introduced?
Cranky 2: Honestly, I thought he was a pompous ass! At first, I hated him. He comes across as God’s gift to everyone and everything.
Cranky 1: Me too! There’s a fine line between being confident and being a jackass. He was so on the line!
3. He redeemed himself though, didn’t he?
Cranky 1: He did.
Cranky 2: Yes, he really did.
4. What was your reaction to the sleeping arrangements?
Cranky 1: I thought they were strange at first, but figured there must be a reason. What about you?
Cranky 2: I found myself questioning Aislinn’s sanity! The fact that Jacoby stayed said a lot about his character.
5. There are some big secrets in this book, aren’t there?
Cranky 1 and 2: Our lips are sealed. No spoilers, but yes. Yes, indeed.
6. Derek voices his opinion of Aislinn early on. What did you think of his assumptions?
Cranky 2: I thought Derek had ulterior motives for trying to steer Jacoby away from Aislinn. I instantly put him in the bad guy territory. He was just way too adamant that he stayed away from her!
Cranky 1: Yes. I thought he was a bit creepy. It was pretty presumptuous of him!
Cranky 2: Me too. I wanted to smack him!
7. Their chemistry… they had smoking hot chemistry!
Cranky 2: They did. I thought that they would end up tearing each other apart at first, but when they finally got together, I found myself cheering them on. Together: they were volcanic.
Cranky 1: Hot, hot, hot. They suit each other very much.

I was enthralled with this story. What happens when you deny what your heart desires? You will find your heart will start to do the negotiation for what it desires.
Aislinn Jane (A.J.) O’Rourke is known as a very fierce businesswoman, who knows what she wants. She is known as the best negotiator with the highest of work ethics. If you want to challenge A.J’s decision, you better come prepared and know exactly who you are taking on. She is lethal in her surroundings and always comes prepared to say the least. Not only is she a strong independent woman in the business world, but in her personal life as well.
Jacoby Weston is an arrogant man who always gets what he wants and doesn't take to a liking when he gets told no, especially by a female. Being a successful, handsome, rich alpha male, he never gets told no. That is until he strikes up a business deal with A.J and she flat out refuses him. A.J. has rules and that is what makes her so successful. One of those rules is doesn't mix business with pleasure and she isn't about to start. Until their business has come to a resolution and Jacoby won’t give up.
A.J. has yet to encounter a man that has been able to keep up with her sexual appetite. When she and Jacoby finish their business deal, they find themselves upping the stakes in the negotiation.
With hidden pasts and secrets that neither of them is ready to reveal, they come to an agreement. They agree secrets are best kept quiet until the time comes for them to air their “dirty laundry”. With the results of what neither of them expected and both happy with the outcome, they are both treading on new territory. Sparks start to fly in more ways than one.
A.J has a strong personality that just leads you through the story of her life. She’s had terrible things happen to her in her past. Through the book you read about details to piece together what happened to A.J. all those years ago. I loved how strong both characters were in this story. Even though A.J. has had terrible things happen to her she is still a strong independent woman, who doesn't have to rely on a man. Add Jacoby in the picture with A.J. they play to each other’s characters perfectly. In so many other stories when the main female character has gone through terrible things, they leave the character to be clingy and needy; which can get annoying. S.H. Pratt does not do that to A.J. even though she has had a rough past she still has such a strong character. That just drew me in the story that much more.
Into the Heart of Desire ends with a cliffhanger and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait for Book 2 Desires of the Heart to be released.

It took me quite a while to feel this book. The whole alpha male attitude by Jacoby at the start of this novel totally turned me off. Aislinn's reaction to Jacoby's gigantic ego didn't help either. I feel that the way they met was so wrong in so many levels. They are corporate people, and no matter how I look at it, I can't understand why they have to act the way that they didn't. It's probably cultural difference that made me feel that way but that opening scene to this story almost had me walk away from it. The scenes that followed didn't help much either. It was purely physical. I don't feel like I'm getting to know the character at all.
Near the middle of the book (about 40%) was where it started getting good for me. Finally, I could feel a story unfolding. It was also where I first got a glance of who the characters are aside from their names.
After getting past that part, the story did get exciting. You not only get to know the characters but you could actually see them growing and developing. It the romance started to bud too. And aside from the romance, there's even a thrill of mystery and suspense.
What I love most about this novel was the friendships displayed through out. Sarah, Miles, Susan, Jasmine, Derek... I always loved stories of family and friendship and this book is very much about that. It's nice that every character in this book made an impact and played their roles pretty well.
All in all, even if I didn't feel the start of it, I enjoyed the book as a whole. The latter part pretty much made up for the rest of it. Even the cliffhanger was played very well.

I was given this book by a secret santa who happened to an awesome friend.
I am glad she did because I loved this book. The story is about Aislinn O'Rourke, who is a powerful business woman but she also has a secret. She thought she had her life finally in control...but she didn't count on meeting the sexy bachelor Jacoby Weston who doesn't like to take no for an answer and he might also be hiding something,who knows. At first encounter, Jacoby didn't know who Aislinn was besides a hot piece of ass he wanted to make scream. But when she refused, he was more determined but not just for a one night thing. Their chemistry was crazy. but w the secret Aislinn was carrying she was scared to pursue anything further.
Lets just say, I know this isn't a paranormal book but for some reason I got so clued into the story and kept thinking she was a vampire or something ...LMAO!!!
cant tell if I was right or wrong you would have to read the book to find out and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Again author S.H. Pratt delivers a story that grabs you from the beginning and commands you to finish to the end. Into the Heart of Desire is Ms. Pratt’s third published story that is true to her style of smart whit, intelligent writing and of course, HOT chemistry between her characters.
Into the Heart of Desire centers on two Alpha personalities who make no excuses for what they want, whenever they want. Aislinn O’Rouke owns and presides over her own company that is soon on the path to a working relationship with Jacoby Weston. Their first meeting is downright HILARIOUS and proves to set the tone for the one-up-ness that can only consume these two strong willed souls. As time moves on the collision course Aislinn and Jacoby travel is of the desire to become one but the past threatens to tear them apart. Will they let it? Fall Into the Heart of Desire and be prepared to be thrown into a world of loss and acceptance, secrets and light and LOVE. If I could rate this any higher I would. S.H. Pratt is like a bottle of wine, keeps getting better as the days go on. 5 STARS! I’m anxiously waiting for BOOK 2 Desires of the Heart.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and I am so glad I did as it has taken me to a new author and an interesting read .
It is not recommended for readers under the age of 18 and I would endorse this as it has explicit sex scene.
As an older reader I find it interesting that many books are now published with sex as the main theme to draw the reader in, and this was certainly the case with this novel as Aislinn and Jacoby, the 2 main characters, negotiate a business deal.
As the pages are turned a deeper story emerges about these two business people but it is not until nearer the end that I was gripped with trying to understand some of the odd behaviour of them both. We do meet some of their friends and they seem very loyal and supportive making the reader want to find out what has happened in the lives of these two people before they meet each other.
So there is some mystery and intrigue in this book and then I turn to the last page which reads " To be continued " Well I can't wait to find out if Aislinn and Jacoby can survive their issues, when is the next book published "

This is my favorite book of S. H. Pratt yet! She's created for us two alpha characters: Aislinn O'Rourke, a no-nonsense, intelligent, confident business woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. She has a strong, tough exterior, but inside, she's as vulnerable and fragile as a child; and Jacoby Weston, a rich and successful land developer and devilishly handsome ladies man. He's confident in himself and knows he can have any woman he wants...until his charms fail to win over Aislinn and she puts him in his place. However, the two soon find that there is an undeniable chemistry between them and what happens from there is nothing short of spectacular. S. H. Pratt builds a genius storyline that keeps you on your toes. The encounters between Aislinn and Jacoby are steamy, erotic and real. I found myself completely engrossed in their story, heart and soul. I cannot WAIT for the second book! Without a doubt one of the BEST reads of 2013!!!

I loved this story when we (hardcorestalker) got small glimpses of it on S.H. Pratt's fb page and then I was lucky enough to beta read this.
Everything in Aislinn's life made her into a very strong and determined person when most would have just locked themselves away. She goes out and gets what she wants and to find her equal in Jacoby is great. I wanted to story to keep going but LOVED it nonetheless!

Aislinn and Jacoby are hot together. They have the whole push and pull relationship in the beginning. Trying to stay away from Jacoby is harder than Aislinn thought. The sparks fly between these two. Aislinn is a strong woman who has met her match in Jacoby. Jacoby is the man of many women's dreams; smart, hot and protective. They both have secrets and they are too damaged for love. I cannot wait to see how their story ends.

I just loved the story. It had me griped from the start to see how these two alpha characters would develop through the book knowing there was that sexual chemistry that neither of them could deny.
It was everything that I personally want from a book, good read, great plot, great sex and of course a twist in the tail that only leaves you craving more.
Can't wait for the follow up for more developments with Aislinn and Jacoby.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it. It reminded me of the type of love affairs that happened in films from yesteryear. You have two strong, intelligent and quick-witted leads with a lot of tension. I love the push-pull 'sizzle' factor in their relationship. If you're looking for romance with some substance, read this book.

OMG there are few books that leave me speechless but this maybe the top one. This story will push and pull all of your emotions, brilliant characters, fantastic plot, romance and Very hot scenes but most of all how you are catapulted into this leaves you raw. Amazing writing by S H Pratt, this is a definite MUST READ.

Aislinn O’Rourke is a tough businesswoman. She knows her business and as a woman in a man’s world she needs to be tough. She is sharp and honest negotiatior. She is wealthy and eligible but men just are not necessary as they satisfy her mentally, emotionally or sexually. She tries to stay free of dating until she meets Jacoby Weston, who is arrogant, sexy and wealthy. Each time they are together they have this pull or connection that they can’t explain. Trying to resist each other becomes impossible so they negotiate a deal on what the relationship will be with options to amend. They don’t talk about the secrets or mistakes from their past but as the relationship moves forward they can’t stay hidden. Will what they have built be enough to keep them together when they learn of each other’s secrets.
The book is most definitely intended for those over 18 as it is very hot. I had trouble with the first part of the book as I didn’t feel as if we were learning enough about the characters and each time they got together that strong connection/pull was there it became another scene of them in bed in her spare bedroom. The mystery of why Aislinn can’t actually sleep with a person and needs to be locked up her her bedroom does come to light and wanting to know and understand why did keep me continuing to read. About halfway through is when I felt that the story really started to let you understand and know the characters more. Things of mystery start to happen and the paparazzi closely watching Aislinn and Jacoby do get creative to confuse the paparazzi but we are left with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to delve into the next book to solve the mystery and if the connection that Aislinn and Jacoby have will be enough or if the events of the past will destroy them.

I so loved this book, it has you turning the pages, one after another. fast read also so I could read the 2nd one thank you fro a wonderful story
