When Taylor Flinn’s parents shipped her off to an aunt for her last year of high school, James “Clutch” Mason had convinced himself it was for the best. Taylor, the wild, impulsive and far-too-appealing seventeen-year-old had been driving him nuts. Her school girl crush on him had been the last thing he needed. Now he had time to concentrate on his booming classic car part business, his new found love-- drag racing, and keeping his twenty-year-old brother Barrett out of trouble.

But when Taylor returns from her aunt’s more grown up, utterly seductive, and attached to another guy, Clutch realizes that the only thing he ever needed or wanted was Taylor Flinn.

This was book two of Tess Oliver's series, and I'm sad to say but I just couldn't get into it. I was really disappointed in the heroine and her behaviour. She was just newly 18 but most of the time her actions were that of a twelve year old. Poor Clutch, is a guy who had been attracted to Taylor when she was under aged; but he remained honorable and never touched her. Once Taylor was of age, all bets were off. The only time I ever felt sorry for Taylor were when her parents treated her so unfairly, other than that...she had everything she got coming to her.

Clutch is a HUGE guy, who is compared to a Viking. I actually really liked Clutch; but I felt he deserved way better as far as his woman was concerned. I felt for him and what he had to deal with when it came to his brother's addiction.
I will admit that I enjoyed seeing all the friends back together again. (Dray, Clutch, Nix) Honestly though, this book was boring for me, and for the most part I couldn't wait for it to end...

I've decided this series just isn't for me - the heroine Taylor was just too young for my taste (yes she is in high school but she acted like an immature brat and I was sick of it at the end. It isn't good when I think the story would be improved by the heroine dying of exposure in the Alaskan wilderness), and the first half of the book sucked. Nothing happened, the second half was just one BS drama after another. The acceptance of her parents was a little rushed at the end and the story line with Jason was incomplete. I'm not sure I care enough to find out, assuming it is in the next book, but I do know I am done with these immature characters.

And how old is Clutch? I am not sure we were told?? It was said repeatedly how she was too young for him but we were never told how old he was.

I am one of those readers that do judge a book by their covers, & who would not want to read this book with that guy on the cover ????

Sadly, I was not blown away by this book. The first half of the book was very boring that I did give up on this book for a week but decided to skip a few pages to get to the real story as I liked Clutch & he intrigued me.

The first half there was no romance and no build up to the romance to come. Taylor came across as someone who should be enjoying her childhood not being in a romance novel with a much older guy(never got to know his age though!!!).

Tess Oliver should have used an older heroine if she wanted to create that whole drama of heroine who is in love with brother's best friend theme & he did not want her. It was glaringly obvious why they could not be together 2 years earlier - she was 16 !!!!!!! & it frustrated me why Clutch being older, just did not sit Taylor down & explain it to her & avoided all the drama which would have been unnecessary.

It felt like Tess Oliver wanted to create some drama in this book & I found her reasons just made Taylor seem immature & definitely not ready for a guy like Clutch. First the young age thing (16 - 18) & then the Alaska thing.

Second half of the book was good. I liked the interaction between Clutch & Barrett, dialogue was witty & I hope Barrett gets his own book.

Ok so I don't mind the whole older man younger girl thing not at all but....We were never even told how old Clutch was??!!! And by the way Taylor is still in High School but she's 18 so it's cool lol. So I liked the side characters I loved Barrett I hope he gets a book. The sex scenes were a little bit better in this book than the first one. I don't know this was a so so read for me I liked it but at the same time I couldn't stand it. If Barrett gets a book I might read it.

I enjoyed this a great deal, but not as much as Freefall, and this might be more of a 3.5/5.

I was hoping that the only thing that would be keeping them apart was Taylor's parents, but there were some times when Taylor was not entirely rational. I loved her in Freefall. She seemed like so much fun. She was a pigtail-wearing, bubblegum-chewing tease in Daisy Dukes, and she knew it, and thats why I loved her. She wanted Clutch so badly that she was in his face about, driving him crazy. She seemed a lot tamer in Clutch. She was still rebellious and troublesome, but not as much fun. I still liked her and she never got as bad as it could have been, but there was some whining. And of course having one misunderstanding and running off to Alaska was beyond irrational. She could have got herself into untold trouble if Clutch hadn't found her. But I really loved her dedication to Clutch. How much she loved him and only him for years was admirable.

I loved Clutch though, as much as and more than I thought I would from the bit I got to know him in Freefall. He was so intense and awesome. I loved him even more than Nix. Nix was sweet, but Clutch is larger than life. I really cant blame Taylor for being all over him. Overall the story was great and was not ruined by Taylor's occasional whining. I loved the fact that they got together regardless of what anyone said and they didnt let anyone stop them. Just a heads up that the sex is more graphic in this book than it was in Freefall. I hope Tess Oliver writes more books in this series. Maybe the next one can be about Rett and Aimee. I might even be open to the possibility of a Jason story, about him smartening his ass up and dumping his bitch girlfriend for a better one. I look forward to whatever she has for us.

I read Freefall the first book in the Custom Culture Series and I loved it. I that Ms. Oliver couldn't have uped her game but she did. 4 Shelby's for this book.

Taylor is wild and in the previous book she was packed off to her Aunt in Florida. As long as she can remember she has had a major crush on James "Clutch" Mason. Clutch tried to deny his feelings found out that it was too late but ta da he gets a second chance. We get to see the whole gang again. Nix and Scotie continue in their path together and Cassie and Dray have some serious shit going on.

We also get introduced to a new character. Clutch's brother Rett. Also hope that Taylor's brother Jason gets a book as he needs to start leading his own life and not be dictated.

This book shows how important it is to lead the life that you want to live.

Okay, let me start off by saying that as a blogger I have a HUGE pile of books to read, so when I sign up for Blog Tours I try to do promo's only (no reviews) unless the book catches my attention, then I'll defiitely find a way to work it into my schedule. In the case of Clutch, I took one look at the cover, title, and synopsis and I was sold! The "packaging" is absolute marketing genius, at first glance why wouldn't you want to read this?! And it definitely lives up to the hype, Ms. Oliver does not disappoint.

In this 2nd installment of the Custom Culture series we're introduced to Clutch, a sexy mechanic by day and even sexier drag racer by night! If you need a mental image of this stud just think VIKING, an extremely appropriate nickname given to him by Taylor, the "little girl" who's been crushing on him big time. Taylor's unpredicatable troublesome behavior earned her a one way ticket to her aunt's house in Florida, far away from temptation...and Clutch. At the age of 18 she returns back home to her parents and doesn't plan on following the rules anymore. She's an adult afterall, and is dead set on making her own decisions. However, her parents and brother (Clutch's business parter) think otherwise. I couldn't wait to see how the story line unfolded. There was obvious attraction and affection between the two that could not be denied. The build up and the question of "will they or won't they?" was killing me!

Besides Clutch and Taylor, we're introduced to characters who made their first appearance in Freefall (book 1). All of their personalities are very unique and distinct, there's no confusing one with the next. They have a very "real" feel to them which makes them all so likeable and definitely relatable. While Clutch is part of a series and can be read as a standalone, I don't recommend doing so. I didn't realize it was part of a series and I would have definitely read Firefall before jumping into Clutch. I felt like I was missing some insider information, mostly just background info on some of the characters, which is by no means the authors fault. She does give us a brief recap as a way to get to know them which is extremely helpful. In fact, I loved Clutch so much and I was so intrigued by Dray, Nix, Scotlyn & Cassie that I purchased a copy of Firefall immediately after I finished reading.

My only issue is that I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. I won't give anything away but I will say that their issues were resolved a little too quickly and too easily. I was kind of like, "Wait, what? That's it?" The story is complete and there is no cliffhanger, that's not my complaint. It's just that the way things ended wasn't very believable and there are some loose ends that weren't tied together, but I imagine those will be addressed in the next book, which I will definitely be reading! Even with my minor issue I still feel compelled to give this a 5 star rating. It was a great, quick read and I enjoyed it way more than a 4 star rating would imply, so 5 it is!

I look forward to reading Firefall and anything else from Ms. Oliver that I can get my hands on.

If you think the cover of this book is hot; then, you will definitely appreciate the incredible smokin' hot story contained inside. For fans of the author, this is Tess Oliver at her very best.

"Clutch" is the James/Jimmie's story and reveals his struggle to do the right thing by staying away from Taylor, the teen sister of his business partner. Taylor was shipped off to Florida by her parents to live with her Aunt and to keep her out of trouble. Unbeknownst to Clutch, Taylor has returned and is definitely grown up. She is 18 now and has a boyfriend.

Clutch is surprised when his partner tells him Taylor can stay in California as long as he stays away from him. Unfortunately, when Taylor comes to the auto shop to deliver hot dogs to her brother she comes face to face with the love of her life. They are both stunned but Taylor takes off
With her boyfriend,Adam. Taylor realizes she has almost lost herself trying to be who everyone else wants her to be;so, she breaks up with Adam risking the wrath of her parents. She is now 18 and will not be controlled any longer.

Clutch is dealing with the arrival of his drug abused younger brother,Barrett all while trying to make sense of his feelings for Taylor. After a run in with her at a race, they finally share a kiss and their world's will never be the same. It is just what they expected, they were meant for each other. However, not everyone wants to see this happen and if they have any hope of being a couple they will have to battle many trials and tribulations including insecurity and self doubt.

The story was an incredible read and the sex appeal was off the charts. Oliver holds nothing back leaving the reader panting and wanting more. I enjoyed the fact that the story was told from both Taylor's and Clutch's point of view. Additionally, it was nice to keep track of the going insofar the characters from the first book. This series promises more interesting scenarios to come and I for one cannot wait!

Clutch is a standalone but it contains many of the characters from the first book, Freefall and moves their stories forward.

Taylor, the teen sister of Clutch’s business partner, has been sent to her Aunt's because of her wild ways and her obsession with Clutch. Clutch is James' story and he is trying to do the right thing by staying away from Taylor, because she is too young. They were meant to be though. This book is also about making choices. It's about how you can be there for your family, or lose them if you're not.

Unbeknownst to Clutch, Taylor has returned and is definitely grown up. She is 18 now and has a boyfriend.

There's plenty of action in this book, from car races and car crashes to fights and fires, there's romance. There’s steamy sex as well. Don’t forget that. When Taylor and Clutch get together sparks fly!

Clutch is surprised when his partner tells him Taylor can stay in California as long as he stays away from her. Unfortunately, when Taylor comes to the auto shop to deliver hot dogs to her brother she comes face to face with the love of her life. They are both stunned. Taylor realizes she has almost lost herself trying to be who everyone else wants her to be, so she breaks up with her boyfriend, Adam.

Clutch is dealing with the arrival of his younger brother, Barrett, who needs to be detoxed, all while trying to make sense of his feelings for Taylor.

After a run in at a race, they finally kiss. They were meant for each other. But, seeing how overprotective her family is, they keep it a secret for a while.

After lots of trials and tribulations- true love withstands all. An adorable little love story actually unfolded right before my eyes.

It was a good read, and I liked how both points of view are added. I am sure more books will be added to this series, considering there are some secondary characters that deserve their own story.

Aaaaaw Clutch....Clutch.....Clutch.....
There are no words, well, there are three that immediately pop into my head when considering what to say about this book, READ THIS NOW! I think from that you can gather my thoughts on this book.
Tess Oliver is an absolutely brilliant writer, I adored the first book in this series, Freefall, and although I was keeping everything crossed that she would continue the story into a series, I didn't think she could top the first book. I should have known better. I love that the main characters from Freefall , Nix and Scotlyn, also get a lot of "airtime" in this second book, as opposed to being brushed off to the side. It enables you to get to see how things are going after their story ended which is always what you crave after finishing a really good book about characters that you loved.
The main characters in this book are Clutch and Taylor, these are two very likeable characters; Taylor is a spitfire, a wild child, but so loveable for it. Clutch is this 6 foot 7 inch, broad shouldered, Viking of a man....his likeability is pretty self-explanatory.
Anyway, before I start swooning again, I'll just say, if you haven't read this series yet, why the hell not?!

Clutch and Taylor. Oh, man, those two know how to push each others' buttons, don't they? Yet, the Viking giant is no match for the sassy school girl when it all comes down to it. He never had been, either. He was a goner, he just had to wait until she was old enough for it to not be icky.

Well, and he had to admit it to himself. That took a while. A while, a lot of tacos, and a few crazy things done by both of them.

Honestly, who hasn't done crazy things when hurt and/or distracted by the person meant for them?

Love love love the brotherhood between Clutch, Nix and Dray. I wasn't sure about Rett for a while, but I came around once he'd dried out and stopped acting like a douchecanoe. Meanwhile, Taylor's family made me have a slight case of crazy eyes. Watching someone's dreams get slapped down time and time again doesn't make me happy. Fortunately, Taylor's resilient and she's willing to push back against her family.

And occasionally do dangerous, crazy things if she's hurting enough. As one does sometimes.

I found Taylor super irritating. I could empathize with her to a point because she really was crazy about Clutch and he pretty much brushed her off and treated her like a child and I can see how that might hurt her, but for God's sake, she was a child. I thought it was very decent of Clutch to have waited until she was legal before he made a move, which is why I was annoyed that she kept acting like he'd been very cruel by not getting together with her when she was a minor and the little sister of his business partner to boot. And even now that she was eighteen, she kept acting like a brat. is the height of impulsive, attention-seeking behavior (=bratty).
What I liked about this book was Clutch who, besides being my favorite kind of hero physically - big, huge, viking-like - was also very sensible and sweet. I felt bad for him for
(This is my first goodreads review. Is there any etiquette that I should be following?)

Loved Clutch and was glad to see the whole gang! Was a little disappointed in Taylor though! I fell in love with her bratty attitude but didn't get to see much of her bratty side in this book! I can't believe how controlling her parents were! I say it all the time, if you try to control and restrict your kids they are going to rebel! Drives me crazy when I see people do that to their kids! You have to let them live and make their own mistakes otherwise they are just going to make bigger mistakes behind your back!!

I read Freefall a while back and whilst it was not a blockbuster it was a worthwhile read so bought this straight out rather than sampling. I find out a quarter of the way in the main female is 18 and this is reflected in the style. Quite juvenile writing.
I stopped reading after flicking through pages and my mind wandering to mundane things.... Not interesting is probably the best way to describe it.
Not recommended to anyone I know!

I'm so loving this series. I absolutely LOVED Clutch and Taylor. Such a great story and my favorite of the two books so far. I loved reading more about Nix and Scotlyn ~ so cute together and Dray and Cassie as well as the addition of Barrett. Loved everything about this book~I only wish they had gotten together sooner but looking forward to reading more of them in Dray's book. So good!!! Definitely a Belle's Book Bag Top Pick!!

There were times that Taylor was such a goddamn brat, but man I loved her! She was definitely one of a kind and I liked her in the first novel but I fell in love with her in this one. Clutch and Taylor had their problems but I really enjoyed their story. As with the first one, the ending felt a bit rushed and I wished there was a little bit more of it, but I'm definitely loving this series and can't wait to continue!

Horrible

What did Taylor expect Clutch to do when she was 16? Go to jail? She was underage, and everyone seems to be forgetting the fact. She is immature, and impulsive seeking validation in all the wrong ways; insisting she's a grownup and can make her own decisions when they ars absolutely HORRIBLE I decisions. last straw at 89% . I HATE Taylor's character. Immature spoiled brat b*tch. I have no idea what Clutch sees in her.

I absolutely loved this book. I really liked the first one in this series, but this one was better. It was so funny, and I love an alpha male. Clutch was amazing. I loved really want to read a story about his brother. It was great also to see the characters from the first book returning, Nix and Dray! I need to know if Cass leaves though for the internship. Keep writing Tess Oliver!

WTF, girl?
I wanted to slap her silly. I understand her parents are a bit overboard and I have no idea what the hell is wrong with her brother, but she is just so childish its not even funny. She does not just throw her toys, hers are a full blown tantrum, falling on the floor and kicking away at anything around her.
Him, I liked but Im sure he should have waited another 5 years or so.

Clutch was a little better than the first book. I didn't like Taylor as much as Scotlyn but she was a good heroine. Over all the story was adorable but a bit on the slow side. Taylor's patents drove me up the damn wall though. I'm looking forward to the next book Dray.

I’ve actually never left a bad review for a book, but I found this book incredibly disappointing, especially knowing what the writer is capable of. Freefall had such great conflicts and it seems like the future books will to. The conflict in this book was so immature. Taylor’s parents were not as overbearing as they made them seem. They were actually fairly normal. I mean they were even willing to pay for art school, what overbearing parent willingly pays for their kid go to art school. Of course a parent of a teenager is going to be upset and try to stop their daughter from dating a guy old enough to own his own business. Of course, they are going to try to get her away from her friends who don’t discourage her borderline dangerous behavior. Clutch as an adult should understand that. I’m not saying they couldn’t get together in a few years, maybe after she goes to college and matures a bit. Realistically she’s going to eventually look back on this and think of how stupid she was being. Really I only read this book at all to make sure I didn’t miss anything I needed to know for the rest of the series.

Clutch has fought his attraction to his best friends under age sister for 2 years. Taylor, the sister in question, does not make things easy on him though and her family has had enough. Eventually these two give in to their mutual attraction but there are a lot of complications that could derail things.

I love Tess Oliver but this was probably my least favorite book so far. I liked Clutch for the most part but I guess I didn't understand his feelings for Taylor. It didn't help that Taylor was a really young and childish 18 year old. It just gave their relationship a creep factor I didn't like. And really, I didn't like Taylor. I thought she was right about a lot of her indignation but the way she went about things was just immature. I also thought that the super mega happy ending was a little too convenient and didn't really fit well.
