Rate this book
Fiona is an ambitious journalist for the prestigious Glasgow post. Her employers, as well as shadowy forces in London, are keen for her to bury a ‘politically sensitive’ story.

Her refusal to do so puts her life in danger. In order to get the truth out she accepts the help of a Celtic legend who has arrived in current day Glasgow from 2,500 years ago - Finn McCool, her Prince and Protector.

The story draws from the legend of Fionn MacCumhaill and his Fianna army who are said to be asleep on the side of every mountain in the ancient Celtic nations. They are waiting to rise up…

First off, this is part of a series with another book following soon(ish).

This story doesn't hold back, if you're looking for an adventure and are a fan of time travel - this is the series for you. I know, I'm the first to admit that it's so hard to find a story where the plot can get lost or you feel like you've lost what time you are in. The truth is that Mark is totally able to transition eras in a really seamless way. You almost feel the words transition you so effortlessly that it just works perfectly here.

Add it to your list if you're one for adventure and in general are a fan of fast paced stories that grab your attention and refuse to let go. You will be captured in the first page and crying for more by the last word.

Part 1:From start to end you are gripped and taken back from present time to Ancient Scottish times of Mythical beings. The story surrounds the safety and safeguarding of a vast secret that the Lead character Fiona a reporter has to determine is worthy of staying a secret or revealing to the people of Scotland. Fionn the Hero and guardian of Fiona often appears at a whim when Fiona is at her utmost danger. Higher powers of Government Agents are intent on the secret never being released. This was an exciting start to what is to become a series of books about the famous Celtic Mythological Hero Finn McCool.
Eagerly awaiting Part 2.

I cannot rate this because I did not finish it. I was 11% in and it just wasn’t for me. The writing was stilted and although the story had promise the execution was lacking in my opinion.

Interesting, although a bit distracting having the majority of characters speak in normal English and Troosers not, and supposedly he's as educated as Fianna. And disappointing that it isn't a complete book and we have to wait until September to see how it all plays out.

Good old romantic drama with a twist. Very readable, despite some errors :)
