When a Dinosaur fossil is unearthed in the Badlands of America the last thing Susan Lavey expected to see as the cause of death was the tail section of an airliner. Now together with Bruce Ackland a chief air crash investigator they must find out why and how this could have happened and what became of the passengers on board.
William Relford was flying to yet another meeting, but this time it was to hand in his notice, he had worked in sales for as long as he liked to remember and now was the time for a change. But destiny has a way of changing things in ways we can’t imagine, and when two times collide, one man’s fight for survival will become another man’s fight for the truth.
For the passengers and crew of flight 993 they were about to enter into a nightmare world, and for them, this would be no theme park.
I loved many aspects of this story despite the fact that it could do with re-editing and some characters developed or fleshed out more. I thought it was a great plot that kept me turning the page to see how the author would resolve things but nevertheless there were sadly several jarring moments suggesting the story would really benefit from a little more development and a good proof reader to sort out mistakes. Why did the passengers not know about the dinosaurs when they had clearly been told about them the day before? Why did one whole day pass in the crashed plane with nothing at all happening? Why did we suddenly learn about some survivors in the jungle in the middle of a paragraph about people on the plane? And when did a lunar month change from 4 to 6 weeks
There were several weaknesses in the story which in part may have been due to insufficient research. For example to have someone die peacefully when they have developed gangrene did not really ring true nor to have someone sitting peacefully beside this dying individual reading a chick lit novel! She did at least complain once about the smell! It was also a wee bit too convenient that a passenger happened to have a supply of morphine pills on him because he "was recovering from spinal surgery" yet was able to trek out into virgin forest inhabiting by dinosaurs. It was also stretching belief that the passengers just happened to discover some spades in the cargo of a routine passenger flight and that the passenger with the morphine had 3 handy hunting knives secreted in his luggage. . Is that likely?
I note the author has already done one rewrite and changed the title. I think the new title is excellent but please please do consider another good edit. It has the potential to be a great story.

A pretty good book, well-written, even memorable. Probably 3.5 stars. But I am going to round down to three because I have rarely had such a strong urge to rewrite a book just to make it more positive. Granted, the author seems to have had a story line fixed in mind, and needed to connect the start of the book with the end, and justify the ending, but the vast majority of the narrative was the somewhat depressing, passive-in-the-face-of-misfortune middle. This story could have been so much more then an excuse for a certain kind of ending.
This is a tight story that was fun to read. I have read several stories that deal with time travel back to the time of dinosaurs, so I can say that this one was a page turner. The premise involves a mystery of how an airplane comes to be buried in the past. I don't want to tell too much of the story so just know it works. Now if you want to read a fast paced story then read this one. One warning there are a few spellings errors in this book but they are not major problems so enjoy.
Read in about 2 hours. Entertaining basic time travel dinosaur era for all ages. Nothing too gross or bloody. Young adult safe in my opinion. Relaxing, no t too much
Read in about two hours. Basic time traveling, dinosaur era story. Not a lot of bloody descriptions so it's my opinion that it is young adult safe. Fun story for a relaxing, no need to think too much read. The ending was a little rushed but no cliffhanger. I am in my 50s and I liked it too.
Fun and fast read. It ended well although i would have liked it just a little different i would say how but don't really feel like looking up how to hide spoilers ha. It was interesting from start to finish. Uncomplicated.
A complete change of genre for me but was very pleasantly suprised by how much i enjoyed this tale. Fairly short and an easy read, perfect to read on a journey or holiday.
