Well first off let me just say this is one of those books you can definitely judge by its cover, it is gorgeous and so is the story…
The Souls of Rain is a new twist to the guardian angel story.
Claire is a guardian angel who does her job very well. She is one of the best there is.
Then there is Nolan… Ah Nolan. An ex-angel who was cast out of heaven. He is my favorite character in this book! His witty remarks and his well his whole persona is amazing to read.
And there is Alan Claire’s new assignment. What do I say about him? He is portrayed as a bad boy in the start but actually he isn’t. I loved how they showed how fragile he is and how he needs Claire to protect him not only physically from the daemons but emotionally as well.
I loved the whole book world that Diana Nixon created. It was amazing to read. I also loved the writing style. It was descriptive without being overtly descriptive.
An amazing read and a wonderful book world!

We have always known that there are entities above our power of to understand. As a child and maybe even later we all thought that there is something that is protecting us and named it “guardian angel”. But what if there is more to this unknown world? What if your guardian angel is your best friend, the lady from the market or your neighbour? There are secrets guarded better than anything in the universe. However there may be a slip, even the best of bests can make mistakes and it’s seems that the heavens are no exception.

Claire’s existence has always been great. Being one of the best guardian angels has its perks and she knows it and knows how to use it in her favour. But one the she receives a mission that puts her in a new place. There are no more children to look after, but a man with a destroyed soul.

Alan Rosenford has spent his last years crashing cars, drinking and going to every single party in town. His soul was so damaged that you could hardly think that he was only twenty-five. But there is something different about him, not only his comportment problems.

Claire will have to go through hell to keep this boy out of his usual problems and she will have some help: Nolan, a fallen angel, a guy she wasn’t even supposed to speak with.

The Souls of Rain is the first book in the Heavens Trilogy, written by Diana Nixon. As I was expecting I really enjoyed the book as I usually do with every think that was written by Diana. The first book of the Heavens Trilogy takes you into a world that could easily fit into ours. There are angels and demons, heaven and hell, and the war between them. But there is something more: a hand full of details that makes the book great. When I read a book I don’t do it just for the action, I like the details that make a novel successful. While reading The Souls of Rain I there were things that I couldn’t place, things that didn’t fit in the picture, because I didn’t have the details. I had my guesses, but you can never be sure of them so when I finally got to the part where you put the pieces tougher I was thrilled. That’s what I like about books: the mystery.

As always Diana succeeded to create a world where you can lose yourself in.

The characters felt real and they got under my skin, especially Nolan. Diana Nixon is one of the first authors that create not only amazing main characters, but also secondary. Nolan is that best friend that is charming, funny, the guy you want to take home with you after you meet him. I just loved him. And I have a guess, a really strong one, that he is the key to solve the mystery that is surrounding the heavens.

The book is written from Claire’s perspective, except from the prologue and epilogue that are at the third person. The prologue and epilogue are written in a manner that makes you want to read the book and the next one. There is where all the secrets begin.

The end of the book is heartbreaking; it just destroys you from inside. I was expecting something big to happen, but not like that. I felt sorry for all of them, but mostly I felt sorry for me that I have to wait a long time before the next book is released.

One thing that I was dying to know, was why was named like this? When I find out about the name, the connections I was like: “Ok, I was not expecting this.” I always knew that there was some kind of bound, but to actually have the certainty is totally different.

Now, when everyone writes about vampires, werewolves and angels, Diana has succeeded to create a new interesting and original book that not only has a great plot, but also is written better and many awarded books. The novel is not only about the action, or about the character no, it has everything that you could ask from a book.

With strong characters and a story that will take you to a walk around the universe, the novel will let you with the desire to know more, to read more. The Souls of the Rain is for sure one of the best books that approaches angels that you can read.

I am beyond happy that I had the chance to read this book. First because the cover is gorgeous and that alone made me fell in love with the book and then because it has angels.

The Souls of Rain is the first book from the Heavens Trilogy by Diana Nixon, and it’s the story of Claire, a guardian angel. It rarely happens to me to actually like the main character of a book, but I just cannot hate any of the characters from Diana’s books. I enjoyed Claire’s attitude as an angel and later as an outcast. I loved her determination and her seriousness when it came to her duty. It kind of reminded me of a badass business woman who does her job and does it well, because Claire is the best guardian angel there is in Heavens and a bunch of broken weapons are enough proof. She fights for her assignments and she fights for what she believes in…like I said…determined.

And then there is Alan, which I actually hoped for him not to be the bad boy he was presented from the beginning of the story. I was pleasantly surprised to take a look in his past and discover that he had his dark reasons for which he was the way he was. We get to see his present life, full of parties and dangers and friends that underneath are not actually his friends, but that’s only the shield under he hides. I liked how he was fragile and how he needed to be protected and not only physically, because he was human, but his soul needed to be protected as well. I may be weird, but I enjoyed a male character that was not the prince charming doing all the fighting. But what I really liked in this book and the Love Lines series as well was the love story. Not the love story itself, but the fact that it wasn’t instant love and their connection started a long time ago, but they failed to recognize it from the beginning.

But as much as I loved Claire and Alan, I adored Nolan and he might be my favorite character. For a former angel he is really daring and he knows how to keep his secrets. He is the mysterious, yet helpful guy in this story. It’s obvious that he knows more than he lets out, but I had no clue that his reasons were directly connected with his past. In fact, the big cliffhanger had Nolan as a center character and I cannot wait to know more about his past.

The Villain
I don’t want to say that the villain was obvious, because it really wasn’t. It was there, you could feel that it was something wrong with the character, but while I was reading the book I couldn’t tag it as the big bad of the story. The author did a great job camouflage it in a slightly evil person.

The Universe
The created universe was fascinating, with great details of the Heavens and Hell and angels actually had personalities. Heavens inhabitants were not described only as angels, but they were divided in various types and hierarchies.

For Claire, a Guardian Angel, fighting demons is what she does. She is assigned people to protect from demons. Her latest assignment is going to be a handful. From the moment she meets Alan Rosenford it is apparent that this won’t be like any of the others. Right off the bat he is able to see her, something that humans can’t do unless the Angel drops their ‘invisibility cloak’.

That’s not this man’s only trick. One day after the other he continues to surprise Claire with his intuition and on top of Alan’s senses and feelings towards Claire heaven isn’t making life any easier. What’s going on? Rules begin to change, the bonds of friendship are tested, dark allies are formed unwillingly, and secrets kept at the highest level start to unravel.

What truly is going on between heaven and hell? What part is Claire supposed to play? And, can she save not only her own soul, but Alan’s soul as well?

Everything about the Souls of Rain is outstanding and creative. I’m not much of an angel book reader, so going into this book I wasn’t sure how to judge it. After chapter two I was taken. Claire is a very no nonsense kind of angel, Alan is the reckless bad boy, and Nolan… Yep, he’s just awesome! But as each chapter slid by and I thought I knew my characters I found out just how wrong I was.

Clair is a head strong, determined, and top class fighting Guardian Angel. She is dictated and will do anything to protect the ones she is guarding. Even though she’s a bit rough she has such a kind side and Alan really brings it out of her. But their real connection will have you breathless.

Alan isn’t without a reason as to why he is the way he is and as the story progresses he turns into a heck of a man with a tragic story. His affection is sweet as he and Clair slowly begin to bond. Though he shows it and Claire denies her feelings that have started to grow, for if she dared to cross that line she would fall.

Then there is Nolan. He’s a fallen that has his hold on me. He is always looking out for Claire, perhaps too much even. There is something there, something he is hiding from her. But with all his mysteries he is still a very helpful character and also very reliable.
By the last couple of chapters I thought ‘I can see where this is going’ I was pleasantly surprised I had no clue what I was talking about. Diana aims to please when it comes to getting the reader hooked and guessing. She pulls you in and twists the world you think you know. By the end of the book I was left rereading the last two pages wishing book two would just appear in front of me!

I say this book was a success and I’m waiting to hear about book two. I’m serious, Diana I’m trying to make it materialize in front of me. Haha Just let me know when to sign up for that blog tour. I’m looking forward to it.

I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

First, I will say that Diana Nixon is one of my favorite authors. I love all the books she wrote because she created a world that I like very much.

Every book has something special, something that can keep me in that world and I can’t let the book until I finish it. I love that her stories are simply to read; the characters are very well described, interesting and fascinating.

The Souls of Rain is the first book of a trilogy named Heavens. As we all know, everybody loves Angels. I’ve read so many books with Angels that I can’t even remember. But, for me, this is a favorite subject. I don’t know for sure why I love it so much, but I do. I think that Angels represent the good, the light in this world and they give us protection and happiness. So, when I heard that Diana wrote this book I said I have to read it.

The main character is a girl named Claire, a Guardian Angel. She is perfect, loves her job and has a perfect live, good and innocent. She has guarded many people but this one is so much difficult.

Alan Rosenford…the bad, gorgeous and broken Alan. Oh , yes! I love Alan. I heard most people like Nolan, but for me, Alan is the one here. Nolan is a Fallen Angel with very good sense of humor and he is always helping Claire. That’s good, I like it. But Alan is the one because he is the human; he has problems, big problems and a very bad behavior.

I love this character because he needs to be saved and protected by his Guardian Angel. He has a very sad story that I liked so much and I understood his feelings very well. That’s why I love him, I can see myself in him and I surely do the same mistakes.

This story is full on humor with sarcastically phrases and fascinating dialogs, especially from Nolan. Of course, nothing is as it sims like in the Heavens. There things that will happen..bad things that will have consequences for all humans.

Like I said , Diana Nixon is a fantastic author and I recommend her book with all my heart. The Souls of
Rain is a very good book that will take you to the Heavens.

Thank you, Diana Nixon for this awesome book and I can’t wait to read part two!

Finally, I recommend this book with all my heart! Awesome

I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. Thank you Diana Nixon. It is always a pleasure to read a new story you wrote!

Since we were young, our parents taught us to pray and go to church. Kids should pray to the Guardian Angels to protect them and help them in need. There is always a little angel on a kids shoulder. As we grew, we thought that all these things were fictional. But what if we were wrong? There is the sky and something above we don’t know, there is God, so why wouldn’t angles exist as well?

They do exist, and one of them is Claire. She is has always been an angel and she loves her job. She is the best guardian, protecting everyone and killing demons along the way. Until one day she receives one hard mission, to protect a man that is all of kind of trouble. He has a broken soul and that justices his actions, always partying and drinking and crashing every single car he lands his hands on it. His name is Alan Rosenford. Clair has her hands full this time.

Claire has been trying all the time to improve her skills, especially the one that can “read” someone’s soul. When she reads Alan’s, she realizes he has a good soul, but there is something there she can’t really put her finger on it. What could it be? Alan is just 25 years old but, by the way his souls look like; you could say he is 80 years old. What could have happened to him?

Diana Nixon managed to create another wonderful world, a brilliant and new idea. I always loved her writing because she creates new stories with great characters that will make you love the books! It’s impossible not to them and it’s even more impossible not to love her books! But, at the same time Diana manages to crush my heart and to create a big cliffhanger. It’s almost impossible for me to wait until the next book comes out. I can’t wait to read it and I truly hope the characters will get what they want. I highly recommend this book, but only read it if you want something original! You are going to love it!

The Souls of Rain by Diana Nixon
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When I started reading this book, I was excited because one, it had such a beautiful cover and two, because it had angels in it. I haven’t read an angel story I haven’t liked but this was the first one in which the main character was a female angel and a kick ass one at that. However, Claire wasn’t my favourite character; that was Nolan, supposedly a fallen angel. He reminded me of Nolan in the TV series ‘Revenge’.
I was very conflicted while I was reading this story. I loved the premise of this story: a female guardian angel guarding a ‘bad’ boy. There were so many possibilities! However, I found it confusing in places. Who knew there so many different kinds of angels and that didn’t take into account the fallen angels and then there were the demons. I was never sure who was ‘good’ and who was ‘bad’. Just when I thought I had it worked out, something would happen and I became confused again.
I don’t like it when a story line is predictable and I’m glad to say that this one certainly isn’t. In my opinion, that is a good thing. But there were also times when the story moved very slowly and I grew impatient. I also found it difficult to connect with the characters. Yes, I was suspicious of some of them and wanted them gone, but I never felt invested in their welfare.
After saying all of that, I absolutely loved the last few chapters. The pace really picked up and I was anxious to know what was going to happen next. It did end on a cliffy (not a dramatic one) and I will read the next one to see what is going to happen to Claire and Alan.
I gave The Souls of Rain 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazing book! This is the first book I have read by Diana Nixon. I was given the book for a bog tour review, one I might say I am glad I accepted. Diana did a great job writing this book, she was able to pull me into the story and play like a movie in my mind. This is when I know I am reading a great book! I was lost in her world that she had written.

The main character in the book is Claire a guardian angel that has determination and serious about her job. She is one of Heavens best angels, she fights for her assignments and for what she believes in. Claire is assigned to watch over Alan Rosenford. He is thought of as a bad boy so to speak with a broken soul. But Claire sees that he really is a fragile human and needs her to protect him physically and emotionally. There is something strange about the connection between Claire and Alan, a familiarity to each other. And guardian angels are to be invisible to their charges but Alan can see Claire. This had me guessing and wondering why? I had to keep reading I had to know what was going on.

Then there is Nolan a fallen angel that is daring, mysterious, helpful and a keeper of secrets. He is right there helping Claire with this assignment even though she knows that it is wrong. Nolan seems to know more than he is willing to tell Claire…. like I said he keeps secrets really good! And I am going to keep a secret too. If you want these questions answered; does Claire save Alan’s soul? Does she figure out why see feels she knows Alan? What secrets is Nolan keeping? You need to get the book and read for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

This is a beautiful romance and a struggle between following one's heart or striving to be pure. Alan and Claire were beautifully done and I adored Nolan with his cavalier attitude - he was definitely my favorite character of the story (though I did get irritated with his always saying he couldn't tell her stuff or running off at inopportune moments which just seemed contrived to not reveal key elements from the audience. Admittedly, I prefer characters laying all their cards on the table and working from there). This piece does raise a lot of questions (like if kissing and love was a sin, this world wouldn't be populated, which seems problematic). The other problem I had with this was that it felt like too many titles/labels being thrown at the audience - pastreens, deerdons, ledons, graidens, etc. and too much politics - as in, she kept having to report to heaven, but the question is what was supposed to happen to her charge when she has to go to regular meetings normally had she not had a best friend to watch her assigned person?) This piece is definitely not a stand-alone novel. It leaves off at what feels like almost a halfway mark leaving the story to be picked up in the next book. It isn't easy to create strong, vibrant characters, and Nixon has done that in spades. And this is a very sexy, stirring story, which I would recommend to anyone interested in sweet, innocent romances with a dash of angel magic and swashbuckling demon slaying.

Even heaven has its secrets. Claire was having a normal day, she got a new human to watch over, her friend Nolan is pushing her buttons, and her human can see her even though she's invisible? Claire is a guardian angel when she gets her new human things are turned upside down for her. Her human makes her feel like she's seen him before. Heaven her home is passing laws she does not agree with. Her new helper that she is assigned is making her uneasy. Nolan and Claire work with her human, (Alan) to figure out why the world they once knew seems to be closing everyone off.

Diana Nixon writes beautifully. She is descriptive without the readers thinking there is too much. The characters are fun and believable. Even though there questions to be answered, the characters come to the answers in a logical manner, no one is playing dumb in Ms. Nixon's novel. She has a strong female character who isn't afraid to take manners into her own hands. Even though Nolan wasn't part of any love triangle (So don't worry readers there isn't any of that going on!) I think I liked him a little more than Alan. Who wouldn't love a smart mouthed fallen angel though? The ending of this book though will have readers wanting to know when the second installment comes out though!

Oh my wow, I absolutely loved this book! The characters were strong, the story line was amazing and the action was incredible. Diana Nixon drew me into her world, with twists and turns and while the mystery of the characters connection kept me turning the pages the ending totally blew me away!

Claire is none other than a Guardian Angel. Her new assignment, to protect Alan, will stretch her to the limits, proving to be more than she can handle alone. Guarding humans always has it's risks because demons will find a way to corrupt the humans she's assigned to protect.

Alan Rosenford is a handsome man with a dark past and the pain he carries is consuming. When Claire finds out he's in the hospital she wastes no time to reach him before any demons can take advantage of his vulnerable state. Never before has a human been able to see her but Alan does and Claire has to come up with a cover story fast. The connection is a mystery, one only the Heaven's know.

When the twists and turns of this amazing book keep you guessing, remember the beginning and know that you will get the answers along with Claire and Alan with each turn of the page. Claire is one of the best Guardian Angels in her field but will her new assignment prove to be too much?

I really enjoyed reading The Souls of Rain and after reading this I am really looking forward to what happens next in the trilogy.
Being a Guardian Angel seems to be hard work for Claire, she has to slay demons who are trying to make her assignment do bad things so they eventually go to hell but things are changing.
Claire gets her new assignment and as soon as she sees him she realises he can see her but how? her powers of invisibility just aren’t working on him so she tells him she is his mothers friends daughter.

The truth comes out eventually and when she thinks Alan will freak he doesn’t he starts falling for her. If she reciprocates this will mean she will be called to Heaven and lose her wings making her a Fallen Angel.

There is so much more to this story, with the different ranks of angels and demons and why does Nolan practically stick to Claire like glue and help her so much? It all starts to make sense towards the end of the book but there is so much more to come.

This was really well written, I was not sure to expect when I picked the book up as Diana Green is a new author to me but wow she has captured me hook, line and sinker and now I cannot wait to read more.

WOW! I loved this book! Angels, demons, and so much more!!! Such a brilliant storyline and characters you can't help but love. I read this book straight through and couldn't put it down. I am hopelessly addicted to this series now and I can't wait to get my hands on book 2 when it comes out!

Claire is one of the best guardian angels that heaven has. She kills demons and guards her human with everything she has. Her new assignment is Alan, a guy who seems to have a death wish. Something about this assignment feels so different. With the help of her "best friend" Nolan, a fallen angel, she hopes to save Alan's soul, but will she be able to save herself?

I loved everything about The Souls of Rain. The ending threw a few major surprises my way and left me breathless. I wanted to scream because I was not ready for it to end. Such a beautiful story that is filled with love, loss, betrayal, and so much more. I highly recommend The Souls of Rain for anyone who loves well developed characters and a truly magical story.

4 angel filled hearts

I am all about angels I think this is one of my favorite subjects as far as reading.

I enjoyed this book tremendously. Claire is a guardian Angel and is good at what she does. She enjoys her work. Then she is assigned to Alan.

Alan rosenford is your typical party bad boy. He is pretty messed up. But you know all of that can be deceiving.

There is also Nolan, a fallen Angel and I have to say one of my faves. He is funny and sarcastic.

This book was impossible to put down once I started. If you like books about angels, fallen angels and a bad boy that needs saving then I recommend this book!

I love books that feature guardian angels. It's just nice to think that there's someone watching over you in times of trouble. The Souls of Rain is about Claire, an experienced and talented guardian angel. This novel offers an intriguing look at Heaven politics and bureaucracy. Claire gets caught up in the middle of the Heaven's issues just when she receives a difficult new charge.

I liked Claire—she's intelligent, pushy and confident. She has a tendency to walk the line between acceptable angel behavior and actions that could lead to her banishment from Heaven. Claire's charges mean everything to her, and she'll do anything within her power to keep them safe. Even if it means breaking orders or rules she doesn't agree with. I really admire such loyalty, especially when her superiors aren't much help.

Claire's new charge, Alan, is an accident waiting to happen—quite literally I might add. She's terrified to let him out of her sight. Even injured, she's afraid he'll find some new death defying stunt to risk his life. Alan is deeply wounded, his soul in awful pain. If anyone needs a guardian angel, it's him, and he's lucky he ended up with Claire.

The Souls of Rain is an intriguing story with fun characters. The ending, or lack thereof, leaves the reader hanging. But that's expected since it's book one in a trilogy. I recommend this paranormal romance to ages 17+. If you like stories about guardian angels, I think you'll enjoy it.
