Some souls are forged in fire. Some hearts are packed in ice. Some elements were never meant to be combined... Blood Redemption ~ a journey of elemental darkness and primordial light.
Saber Alexiares is no ordinary vampire. He is like a cruel, fire-breathing dragon. Reared in the bowels of the colony by Dark Ones, he has no conscience, no compassion, and no saving grace. Captured by the enemy, he is sentenced to execution by sunlight only to discover that his body will not burn, he isn’t who he thought he was. He was stolen at birth. He was reared by the wrong house. And the sunlight isn’t going to kill him because he does have a soul.
Vanya Demir is the very heart of goodness and light, an ancient female from a magical race, the progeny of humans and celestial deities before they were cursed by the Blood. With her deep-rooted sense of duty; naïve upbringing; and tragic, personal history, she has unknowingly packed her heart in ice and dedicated her life to the service of the Vampyr. She is wholly unprepared to face a fire-breathing dragon.
When their paths converge beneath a Serpens Blood Moon, they will each have thirty days to reconcile the irreconcilable, to confront the primordial darkness that threatens to destroy them both. Can a being lost in darkness for eight-hundred years ever find its way to the light? Can a heart that’s been buried for as long as it can remember risk the ultimate in betrayal and damnation simply for the hope of Blood Redemption?

Tessa Dawn grew up in Colorado, where she developed a deep affinity for the Rocky Mountains. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she worked for several years in criminal justice and mental health before returning to get her master’s degree in nonprofit management.
Tessa began writing as a child and composed her first full-length novel at the age of eleven. By the time she graduated high-school, she had a banker’s box full of short-stories and novels. Since then, she has published works as diverse as poetry, greeting cards, workbooks for kids with autism, and academic curricula. Her Dark Fantasy/Gothic Romance novels represent her long-desired return to her creative-writing roots and her passionate flair for storytelling.
Tessa currently splits her time between the Colorado suburbs and mountains with her two children and “one very crazy cat.” She hopes to one day move to the country where she can own horses and what she considers “the most beautiful creature ever created” -- a German Shepherd.
Dear Tessa Dawn, Thank you for desensitizing me with your insanely dark books. I no longer fear death, dismemberment, and torture. Been there, done that, got the bloody t-shirt.
This was absolutely the best book in the series. There is just something about a reforming bad boy that gets to me. I want to heal him with my overwhelming love.
he's just misunderstood..
In this book we have Saber, a vampire that was raised by the bad-guy vampire team but finds out that he was actually born into the good-guy vampire team and was kidnapped as a baby. The good-guys take him in and then, lo and behold, he is given the sign that a mate has been chosen for him. And, not just any mate - a princess who is as pure and good as the driven snow. That's going to be awkward. After all, the only reason they learned that he was actually on team good-vamp was because he had tried to kill two of their women and they left him in the sun to burn to death. When he didn't burn, they realized he was one of them. Um, yeah. Sorry about trying to kill you. Welcome home, brother.
I think I'd really like to hear the story about how this cake came to be.... Or, maybe not.
Plus, think of how much that would suck that he thought he couldn't be in the sun and that he didn't have a soul for over 800 years. He could have spent more time at the beach, developing a tan! Not fair!
this is why I avoid the sun...
Oh yeah, and the soul thing. The problem is that Saber was raised to be a soulless killer. He may have been born good, but he embraced the bad. How can they expect him to suddenly be a nice guy? He doesn't even want to be good. He is filled with burning burning rage and hate. You know, like your mother-in-law.
I'll go into a dark room with you, baby!
But, Vanya, the princess, is drawn to him. She is fated to be with him after all. He doesn't make a great first impression by attacking her when they meet, but hey, no first date goes that smoothly. So, he bit her and almost raped her. Nobody's perfect. And, the road to redemption is a little rocky. And, he did apologize.
Vanya laughed out loud then. "Badly? You behaved badly? No, you behaved like a wild gorilla in a zoo, showing your offensive red ass for all the world to see..."
Saber laughed then, "Good analogy."
Seriously, who's making these cakes?
I loved Saber! I loved his murderous rage. I loved how he tried to manipulate everyone and work any angle he could. And, I loved how he discovered his soul slowly. Plus, he was pretty hot. Let's not forget the hot part. Priorities are important in the critical analysis of a book character.
Can take a individual as evil and heartless as Saber Alexaires and make you feel for him, actually root for him, want him to have his HEA. I was wondering how an original female from the house of Jadon would stack up against one of the darkest vampires Dark Moon Vale had to offer. Any misgivings were quickly put to rest as Vanya Demir showed Saber she was no shrinking violet. Posessing skills of her own, she sets out to find her place in the madness that has enveloped them both. To say she was a risk taker is a vast understatement. I admired her tenacity and her stubborness to decide on her own what her future could hold. There was a moment when I wasn't sure if her future would include being of this world anymore (that is a spoiler I will not get into).
And Saber, for all of his hatered, suffered enormously at the hands of the ones he served and trusted for so long and it broke a chunk of ice off my heart where he was concerned. As the story continued to unfold and facets of Saber were exposed to him and to us I found myself pausing to wipe my eyes and catch my breath. Such an emotional journey and one that is not over for him, even at the end of the book you know there is much more "redemption" Saber needs to go through but, you feel his willingness to do it.
Now, let's talk about an epilogue that had tears streaming down my face in the awe that is Tessa Dawn, I will not give any of that away but, let's just say the next book will be just as incredible as the rest of the series, of that I am 100% certain.
If you don't know Tessa Dawn and the incredible gift of story-telling she has, it's time you check her out! All of the Blood Curse is amazing and this latest journey into Dark Moon Vale is no exception.
What can I say? Do you like seeing the bad guy reforming? Discovering that his whole life was a lie and that he was actually born on the good side of the world and kidnapped as a babe? That he in fact has a soul?
Well, it was nice seeing him discovering his soul one step at a time. But I felt sorry for the guy in more than one occasion. Sure, he tried to kill two females in the previous book and he was punished for that. And what would you expect from someone that was nurtured from infancy by evil? You really need to have patience to show and teach him things that were never part of his whole long life. Like compassion, care, respect, love.
What I hated in this book was the fact that everybody just wanted the heroine to go on with her life without her mate. Like that's an option. Like they don't suffer without each other. I hated the fact that no one put themselves on her shoes and thought about her feelings. They simply thought he was too dangerous, too dark and their decision was final and that was that.
So yeah, while I loved seeing the hero reforming, making intentional and unintentional mistakes, growing to learn that he was not all darkness, I was deeply disappointed by some things that happened and I truly felt sorry for the guy on more than one occasion.
He does not know how to love but when he started explaining to the heroine what he felt for her, oh, my heart almost broke. It was so beautiful.
A note: thanks to this dark series, I no longer cringe about rape, torture, pain, blood, murder in the most creative ways, demons, darkness and evil in general. I have read just about everything here. And I gotta say, how this author keeps up with different ways to kill and torture, is beyond me.
I have to say that this book was the most emotional for me, thus far in this series. I have been quite taken with Saber since I met him in book one. Eagerly awaiting his story because I knew that he would have added complicated, (to say the least) layer(s) to him. I must say I was not disappointed on this front. Saber's upbringing, very existence, past whatever, really broke my heart. Secrets that are revealed here and the aftermath of the consequences, had my heart just bleeding for him in many instances. I wanted to just take all the confusion, anger, pain, and betrayal away from him. Just fix it. But the journey of course, had it's ups & downs. Beautiful & ugly moments in abundance.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Vanya Saber's Destiny. Although I grew to love their interactions together, the push & pull with them. It kept me engaged and on edge in many scenarios. It also had me like this a few times... All I can say is that Saber knows how to put it down...
Buuuut ultimately I thought & was hoping things were going to go a certain way with he and his Destiny, but they didn't. In one instance, toward the very end, it was so childish/pointless.. A waste of words if you will, that I couldn't help but get ticked and just react like... I mean it just really took the steam and tangible, real emotion out of their situation. Them coming together would have been much more effective if Ms. Dawn chose to approach it from a more sincere and poignant place, IMO. And I'm a bit let down that their ending feels more like a HFN (Happily For Now) than a solid HEA (Happily Ever After) And it shouldn't feel this way concerning an immortal being and his immortal Destiny. I mean it's clear that Saber has alot to atone for. And tons of growth & changing his perspective on a lot of things. There is no way that all of this could be rectified in his book. I understand and am fine with that. But when it came to his Destiny, I feel like things could & should have been alot more solid. So I think this just means that for me, Vanya didn't exactly cut it for me as Saber's Destiny. She just wasn't completely Yin to his Yang. And that's unfortunate.
My Baby, Napolean The Light Vampyr King. He put it down throughout this entire book. Loved that he was so present here. And what he gives is on point. Just...
This one ended on a decent note, I guess. But it was definitely not what I would have expected considering how strong the beginning and middle of this story was. It was a bit lack luster for me in the last 15% of the novel.
But the Epilogue definitely leaves you with a "WTH is happening here & why?!" vibe. So if you know me, you know I can't wait to find out.
So as always, I would recommend this read/series. I advise you to read in order & proceed with caution.

Child to Rafael and Lorna Dzuna house of Jadon. Can he overcome 800 years of living as Dark One? Let go of his anger? Nothing worth having is easy, as all are about to have to come to terms with.
Vanya Demir is one of The Originals. One of two who saw what had transpired to cause the curse. She is Pure of Light. Working in Romania on the old magic , she decides to visit her sister and her nephew. Once there, the Sky revealed Serpens Blood Moon and that she is Saber's Destiny. They have 30 days to convert Vanya and for her to bear him twins or he dies a most horrendous death. But no one not even Vanya wants to get close to the monster in the cell who would kill her with no remorse. Can her pure white light reach him before it is to late or will Saber come to terms with his origins, being from the house of Jadon.
If you are looking for a light book to read this book is not for you. If you are looking for a book with Grit and Depth than this book is for you! You know you are reading a book written by a Great Author when your emotions are all over the place. When you have to put the book down just to get your emotions in check. When you have to put a book down just to get your breathing back to normal. These Vampyr's are not your run of the mill, there is no other Vampyr book(s) out there that even come close to this book.
At first I really disliked Saber and felt sorry for Vanya. Than I felt sorry for Saber and all that he could have been if he had not been kidnapped. Than I really disliked Saber again. Back and forth I wrestled with my emotions. Very intense writing by Tessa Dawn pulled me into the story and never let me go. There were some great sayings in this book, some that make you cry and some that you just laugh out loud and your family thinks you are losing it. *** Spoiler Alert *** 1 - Don't you have a pole to dance around"? 2-"Been there done that tossed the tee-shirt"! 3-"Damn...need attention much?" 4-Buy some Clairol for that hair"! 5-When Saber says, "Be well...mother." 6-When Nachari says, "This is our house..." 7-When Rafael calls Saber on his anger, and he (Saber) asks him why they never searched for him... The Bar scene is flat out falling off your chair laughing so hard! This is not a HEA, I mean really 800 years of depravity does not change in 2-3 mnths. The ending is very touching and powerful and I am sure we will see more of these 2 as Saber becomes more humane, with the help of Vanya and their Son and the rest of the house of Jadon. I give this book 5 Stars, but really one can not count all the stars in the Night Sky, that would be the real amount of Stars I would give this Book. Patches
This book is a PAGE TURNER! Make sure you are ready to stay up all night long, because you will not be able to put this book down! Tessa Dawn goes above and beyond to make sure us readers feel every emotion, hang on to every word, and fall in AND out of love through the emotional rollercoaster that is her writing. In this book, the 5th book in the Blood Curse Series, Tessa Dawn has taken the impossible and made it possible. Saber, born and raised in the Dark Ones colony for 800 years, has been thrown into a tail spin when he and the house of Jadon find out that he is not who they thought he was. Kidnapped as a baby and raised as a descendent of Jaegar, no one is ready to accept Sabers true identity as a child born under the house of Jadon, even Saber himself. This book will take you through every emotion you could possible feel. Speaking deep to your heart and understanding, you will get ripped back and forth between what you know, what you want, and how you feel. Every chapter flips your world upside down, making your predictions just that, predictions. No matter how much you think you know what will happen, your heart will be broken and put back together over and over again, throwing you for loop after loop as nothing you could have ever foreseen happens to the characters you grown to love and learned to hate! Tessa Dawn has once again burrowed a way into my soul, making me laugh, cry, and love the Blood Curse series!!
Read: November 2013 The upcoming Release Date for BLOOD REDEMPTION, #5 in the Blood Curse Series is October 31, 2013!!!
I'm SO excited! What a awesome Halloween it will be!!
This book to me has surpassed outstanding, Tessa! When I finished the first read through I had to start it over once again. It was that good! Mind you I had most certainly went through a box a Kleenex (both times) while reading. The emotional roller-coaster that Tessa put us through was simply flawless! I thank the Goddess for getting introduced to Tessa and this series by Diana Ramsey from Offbeat Vagabond book blog! It has been one of the best recommendations I've ever received!
I'm simply dying for the book #6 Tessa! Please give us book #6 soon! *cries* It is so hard to wait!

I think Saber is my fav hero from this series so far and his destiny is a princess, lucky vampyr, especially after he lived more than 700 years as a dark vampyr and done horrible stuff whole his life! So how he end up became the lucky vampyr like this?
Here the short story, in this series there are two type of vampire, the light ones and the dark ones. The light one can walk under sun while the dark one can't!
Our bad hero after did terrible things in previous book, get caught and will be sentence to death. The King decided he will burn to death under the sun. So everyone giddy, ready and got the front seat to watch him roasted and melted! Surprise surprise, that's not happening, he still alive and well.
Of course the King checking his brain's database and found that, he actually born from light vampyr family who get kidnaped more than 700 years ago by one grieving dark vampyr who just lost his son.
Well, reading how Saber changing is very fascinating and is not always easy to read, he was totally bad guy for more than 700 years for godsake!:)
One bother me tho Ms. Dawn, I can see that his 'dad' the one who kidnaped him is really love him and he love him too, now how that possibly happened if these dark vampyr doesn't have soul???
I was lucky enough to get an early review release of this book. I must saw that every time I read one of Tessa’s books, I feel like it’s a privilege, and like all the other books in the series, this one did not disappoint! Blood Redemption is a smooth, thought-provoking, “I’m stuck on the edge of my seat and cannot put this down” kind of story. And the spectacular twist (using a “Dark One” as the main character) was handled beautifully. I have to admit, I fell head over heels in love with Saber, and the way Tessa played off the nature versus nurture theme throughout really sealed the deal.
IF YOU ARE TIRED OF READING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER, OR YOU WANT A VAMPIRE STORY THAT HAS LAYERS OF DEPTH BENEATH FANTASTIC STORYTELLING, THEN I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BLOOD REDEMPTION. OH, AND FOR THOSE WHO HAVE READ THE SERIES, THE ENDING IS SOMETHING WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! HOORAY!
I read this book in a day, not because it was a small book, it is a full length novel but because had I put it down the roller coaster ride of emotions it brings about would be over and that was not acceptable. The Blood Curse series has never failed to entertain and keep me interested all the through the books. This is the 5th book in the series and it just went above and beyond that. The old argument of nature verses nurture is challenged to the max in The Blood Remdemption when Saber a Dark One is to be destroyed for his crimes against the Light Ones until they find out he was born in Light. Taken by the Dark Ones and made one of their own.
Can a vampire raised for over 800 years by evil, soulless, murdering, hate filled beings be redeemed and brought back into the light. Just because one has a soul does not mean it can be salvaged after so many years of darkness. I don't like spoilers so I am going to try not to give any away. let me just say in some books the dark souls are turned good so easily but it is not that easy here. This is a true challenge of dark versus light and a fight for a soul that may or may not be won.
If you don't like vampires that sparkle and you want a book that makes you cry, laugh, get angry and keeps you on edge to know what is going to happen next, then please get this book and the rest of the series as well, you will not be disappointed.
Follow Saber and find out if even the one person in the universe meant for him (his destiny) can save him or even want to. I gave this book 5 stars but the truth be known it should be an entire constellation given for this walk through the world of the Silivasi's once again. Thank you Tessa Dawn for The Blood Curse Series... Vist Tessa Dawn at authortessadawn.com or her FB page to find out more about this wonderful series
You know those moments when you anxiously anticipate the next installment in a series that you instantly love and feel connected to? After Blood Possession I wanted to be placed in a medically induced coma so I wouldn't have to wait so long for Blood Shadows. Following Blood Shadows, I was so astonished by the ending, that I let my mind wander and wonder about what would happen next. That speculation was enough to keep me busy until Blood Redemption. And now...it's here...and once again I am not disappointed.
Blood Redemption takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. As you turn the pages you experience fear, love, anger, hate, passion, and in the end you empathize which the range of emotions experienced by these men and women. And you simply want more.
Blood Redemption is more than a vampire novel. It's the story of a man, born in light but raised in darkness, and his search to discover, understand, and accept just who he is. As much as we as readers, and those around him initially fear and maybe even hate Saber Alexiares, we soon come to understand him and even cheer for him as we accompany him on his journey of self discovery.
Blood Redemption is an excellent addition to the Blood Curse Series and a reminder that immortality does not make you impervious to emotion...to humanity...and the need to find and embrace your destiny. Thank you Tessa Dawn for yet another excellent novel and glimpse into the Houses of Jadon and Jaegar.
Blood Redemption is book 5 in the Blood Curse Series. Its the story of Saber a wicked, evil Dark One who isn't really dark. He was a child stolen from the light and raised by the dark. After 800 years can he be changed? Yes and No. Tessa made me love Saber even though he is wicked and he admits that's he's wicked, its who he is. Now his destiny is Vanya an original female awoken from a very long sleep she is the complete opposite of Saber and was a perfect female for him. This book was so emotional I couldn't put it down. I felt Saber's confusion, his pain from the death of those closest to him and his pain from betrayal. His emotions were all so raw I was brought to tears. Tessa did an excellent job telling Sabers story and I look forward to more in this series. If you haven't read this series I suggest you start from the beginning because in my opinion you will truly understand Saber as you see the Dark Ones and there evil ways in the earlier books.
"Oh My goddess" or is it "the Dark Lords"? What an awesome book! I couldn't put it down. What an emotional ride. Totally feel in love with Saber and Vanya's story. This latest book in the Blood Curse Series us very emotional. You can feel the pain that both Vanya & Saber go through starting from the very first chapter all the way to the end of the book. I suggest that you have a box of Kleenex handy and don't plan doing anything until the book is finished. Believe me, you won't be able to put it down. Tessa has written another great vampire book that brings more detail to anything else written in a long time. Love this series and look forward to many more adventures, mysteries, deceit & love to come.
Blood redemption is the 5 book in the Blood Curse series by Tessa Dawn and it was yet again another amazing, mind blowing and breathtaking story.
This series in general it's so original from all points of view. This is not your usual vampire book as much as much as i would like it to be, this series is very dark, with lots pain and bad things happening but in the same time spectacular and you can't resist not reading more and more and find out wot is going to happen next to one of the vampire from the Jadon house or wot bad things are the vampire from the Jaegar house are trying to do.

How will they react and wot they will do now when he caused so much pain to one of their own? I just purely loved this book. The story grabbed my attention from the first page when i started to read and never let go till the end. I just couldn't stop and oh boy, it was amazing, purely spectacular.
I said all along that this series it's more special to me as is the only vampire series i read till now and the first author i know that brings into it, and reminds us from were everything started, Romania, my birth country. This book, and the series in general actually has some romanian words and and that warms my heart and makes it even more special. You will regret missing out on an amazing book that will take you to a dif dimension and something new brought out in the PNR world.
Recommended it read to everyone out there who loves PNR and dark romance.
Blood Redemption is the 5th book in the series "Blood Curse" by Author Tessa Dawn. The story is about Saber a Dark vampire and his destiny Vanya.
Saber is a Dark vampire, has been for 800 long years. Hes dark, mean, evil and he doesn't care who knows it. He gets captured by the Light vampires for some bad stuff he did in the previous book (Blood Shadows). He was sentenced to burn in the sun light. Come that time, The light vamps stand by to witness the execution, but to their utter surprise Saber does NOT burn in the sun (only light vampires can walk in the sun). Saber finds out he is NOT a dark vamp, he actually is a light vamp that was stolen by a dark vamp when he was a baby. He is in disbelief and denial, all that he knows is crumbling around him. He is defiant even as the blood moon fills the sky with his symbol.
Vanya is a long ago princess from the times when the curse started. She was kept safely in sleep (along with her older sister) to save their lives. She knows the curse and what it entails. Vanya sees the blood moon in the sky and then feels the burn on her wrist indicating she is indeed the chosen destiny of some light vampire she is excited until she finds out who her intended is.
My thoughts:
Omg, the road that the author took Saber down to change himself was emotional. The author did such a good job in redeeming Sabers character. He doesn't know how to love or care about emotions. He never learned that from his upbringing. She kept his character genuine for the most part. His road was not easy, he was constantly waging an inner battle with himself. Sometimes it takes an event so devastating that even an evil being such as Saber will open his eyes and start questioning things.
Vanya had a similar road, could she really be with a monster? After everything he has done? She also waged a inner war with herself. Her breaking point (were she knew she wanted to be with Saber) was utterly classic! Omg it was great! I am talking about a determined woman who knows what she wants!
The relationship that builds between the two even though they are total opposites of each other was built up. It was not love at first sight.
Saber and Vanya were great together. They are by far my most favorite couple in the series.
I just loved this book, Blood redemption had everything I look for in a paranormal romance. I can not wait until the next book! The story is getting goooood!

Holy Cow! This series just keeps getting better and better. This is Installment #5 of Tessa Dawn's Blood Curse Series. I Loved it!!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Hearts
Thoughts: Salvatore Nistor is demented.
Saber Alexiares is a deep, and very dark character. Evil personified! Intelligent, soul-serching, and fractured—he struggles to the very core of his being in ways that will blow your mind.
Vanya Demir, is the exact opposite of Saber, pure, innocent, and full of light—she has her own issues to face - it reminds me of the phrase or quote that says,
"Where one is weak; the other is strong."
When their paths cross under the Blood Moon, the journey begins. One of self-discovery, soul-searching, all while in survival mode. Full of raw emotion, action-packed and heart-wrenching with betrayal, loyality, anger, and beautifully portrayed sex scenes that sizzle and pop!
SIMPLY SEX-I-LICIOUS!!!
Saber will stay with me, because I relate to his need to understand what it is to truly LOVE and BE LOVED. The Outlaw always fascinates me - because, as bad as they are - is as passionate as they are.
Favorite Quote: "The enemy of my enemy, is my friend."
Miss Dawn has a distinctive style of writing, so picturesque you can easily visualize the world, characters, and events that take place. Calgon take me away to Dark Moon Vale.
Excellent Story and Series. Excellent Narration. (audible review)
Another great story in Tessa Dawn's Blood Curse series!
This series is so good. The first book was good but it has some eye rolling moments. I am so glad I did not give up on the series. I feel like the first book set up world building and characters the rest of the stories on the series. Because all of the books in this series since have been absolutely fantastic.
I really liked Saber's character and his back story. He is a great addition to the series. Sexy, smart, and his sarcasm is great. LOL. Vanya was great too. Beautiful and smart. They had some great chemistry together. There are a couple of very nicely written sex scenes.
The story line and plot is great. There is lots of fantastic dialogue throughout the entire book. And this story is not full of angst. So nice not to listen to hundreds of pages of angst.
As for the narration. Well, it was fantastic! I love Eric Dove. He gives everyone their own distinct voice. The women sound like women and he reads with emotion. His voice is such a pleasure to my ears. One of my favorite male narrators for sure.
If you have not listened or read this series I highly recommend it. This is a must read/listen series for paranormal romance fans.
It has taken me a really long time to get back into these books. I had some really big issues with the lead women but when I started this book I could not put it down. I literally read it all in just a couple of hours and then started the next one.
I love the Blood Curse Series and Book #5 Blood Redemption is one of my favorites in the series so far. Wow is all I can say. Raised as Saber Alexiares of the House of Jaeger “The Dark Ones.” Born Sabino Dzuna of the House of Jadon. Vanya Demir one of the original females, a Princess with a deep sense of duty, and a heart packed in ice. Both feel as if they belong nowhere. These statements right here should tell you the conflict you will be in for with this book. With the capture of one of the Dark Ones, Saber Alexiares for crimes committed against the House of Jadon, his was scheduled to die by the sun, but when that did not happen it had everyone in the House of Jadon in a tailspin. First Major twist. Saber was not who he thought he was. It was then discovered Saber was actually Sabino who was kidnapped from his parents as an infant. But after 800 years of evil being bred into him he knew no difference. A ruthless warrior for the House of Jaeger and the son (so he thought) of Damien Alexiares. He was a heartless, souless killer. Napolean Mondragon, the leader/king of the House of Jadon ordered he be kept as a prisoner in their cells. Vanya Demir decided to come visit her older sister Ciopori, her mate Marquis and her nephew Nikolai. And here is where the story takes another twist. When the Blood Moon of Serpens makes its appearance in the heavens, it grabs Saber’s attention and stops Vanya in her tracks. The mark appears on her wrist and when she hadn’t shown up at the Kings residence he went looking for her and this is where he realizes who her destiny is. From this point on the story is an absolute roller coaster of emotions. Of twist and turns, of love and hate. You literally are dragged through the entire spectrum of emotions. A page turner for sure. You won’t want to put it down. The Epilogue will knock your socks off in an OMG moment. So you definitely know who the next book is about. Blood Redemption DID NOT have an HEA for Saber and Vanya as far as I’m concerned. So this leads me to believe we will see them in a future book or novella. Or as at least I’m hoping we will. Will Saber put on the ring? Will Vanya have her wedding? Stay tuned for future releases.
If you are a fan of vampire series, then this is one you should definitely read!!
These books are based upon an ancient curse whereas the sons of brothers Jadon and Jaeger will walk the world as vampire and have to appease a blood curse by providing their first born "dark" child to it. The light ones, the sons of Jadon have been granted four mercies for having not causing the bloodshed that led to the extermination of the female race in their time. While every book begins with the history of the curse so any new reader is aware, I believe the greatest enjoyment would be gained from reading the books in order.
This particular book is about the Celestial princess Vanya and a Dark one, Saber. I won't detail the book too much as it would take away from the experience but I will say that I greatly enjoyed the way Ms. Dawn took the time to allow Saber to experience the emotions he had in his life lived without and didn't just flip a switch and say "See! I love you all!" Which would have been boring! What astounded me as I was reading this book in particular was that I realized the main difference between this book(and series) and any other vampire (or other genre) series, is that by time I made it to the third and fourth books I was looking forward to how the players stories would play out. in other authors novels, almost exclusively, by that far into a series I generally recognized the overall plot that will be used for the couple and then the HEA. Not so here. I enjoyed that. I would most definitely recommend this book and further more, the series! I anxiously await DARK FATHER........
At 50% I still didn’t like Saber. He was an ass every time he opened his mouth. I knew he would be that way for a while but it just went on too long. I thought about bypassing this book for Kagen’s but I decided to keep with the order of the series.
Until the last of the book Saber was such a jerk and was so hateful to everyone. And Vanya didn’t help. She told him when “it” was all over she wanted him to go away and not bother trying to see her and his son again. THEN had a fit and made an ass of herself when he found a woman to feed on. She was so full of mixed messages.
***** SLIGHT SPOILERS***** And the fight between Saber and Marquis, or rather, the brutal attack by Marquis when they had Saber so weak from hunger, at one point Saber asked Marquis why he was doing this and it must have taken 30 pages, and more beating, to give Saber a partial answer. Then the beating went on and on before Marquis crashed into Saber’s chest and had his heart in his hand, ready to pluck it out, before Napolean and Vanya stopped him. That went on so long it really irritated the heck out of me. The author made Marquis a real jerk for that.
*****END SLIGHT SPOILERS*****
This was my least favorite book in the series but I’m still giving it a good rating because of Saber’s growth. He went from being an evil Dark One to a wonderful Light One, and that was no easy task.
Needless to say, the epilogue was fantastic and makes a reader want to rush for the next book, which I will since my daughter loaned me all of them.
There was a few silly swear words in this book. NO sexual tension, as usual, and explicit sex.
It has been awhile since I read a true 5 Star novel but this one made it although if you have not read the previous novels in this series it might not have the same impact.
Sabre is unlike any character in this series so far, he was one of the "Light" vampires but was kidnapped when he was an infant and raised as one of the "Dark Ones".
This has made him a very dark and evil being in most (but not all) things and the story of his journey back to a bit of humanity is riveting to say the least.
The fact is that you are NOT going to like Sabre for a good portion of this novel because he is not portrayed as some lost lamb, he is portrayed as someone who has always been surrounded by evil beings and that is reflected in his actions.
Vanya could not be a more opposite person for Sabre as something close to an angel of light but for reasons unknown the Gods have decided they belong together. This does not mean that it will happen, just that they should be, since they kind of hate each other that might be a hard job.
This story does not insult the reader's intelligence by making Sabre into the ultimate "good guy" in a few days, as I said, it is a long journey with many pitfalls along the way. Surprisingly, Vanya has a bit of evolving to do also, this is great stuff writing folks, don't miss it.
This story is one of redemption (as indicated in the title, tragedy and a long journey to resolve more things than you could imagine. This was a great job of writing and creativity on the part of Tessa Dawn and the 5 Star rating is well deserved.
OMG. I read this book in 24 hours. I LOVED this book. First of all Tessa Dawn has the best Dark fantasy books ever. The vampire world she has created is so unique with the dark/light factions and sacrifice of the Dark one. I have been waiting or the book because Saber was evil but there was a sliver of hope for him. I loved all of Saber's internal struggles and his path & choices were not predictable. He didn't make an about face with his behavior & actions but just the subtle awareness and realizations were very believable. My two favorite scenes were when he asked Princess Vanya to breathe for him & at the end when he described love without even knowing if he was describing the emotion. I highly recommend this series!
This is such a great series! One of my favorite pnr/vampire series. This is the 5th book in the Blood Curse series and it's Saber & Vanya's story. I really loved that these 2 ended up together. They had every odd stacked against them. They balanced each other out and understood one another despite having complete opposite upbringings. Saber is a dominant male in every sense of the word. He's Sexy as hell & the way he takes Vanya is hot! I would loved to have seen if Saber committed to & became a part of the house of Jadon. Maybe in the next book we'll see more of Saber and if he becomes more accepted. I'd also love to see more of Kristina and if she gets a destiny. I'm eagerly anticipating the next book!
Each book in Tessa Dawns Blood curse series just gets better and better....and as we say , how can you not be drawn right into Blood Redemptions when you start out with a Bad A@$ that needs redemption, doesn't want it but let the fun begin.......and it is fun but also edgy, intense, funny, sad ......i cried and laughed out loud.....I'm not great at reviews but this book and series puts a new twist on vampires and the Silivasi brother....TAKE ME, please...but anyway Great read, even better Series......
There is a reason Tessa Dawn is my number 1 favorite author of paranormal romance, but to get it you have to read all five books which are truly a work of art! I can always count on her books to keep me interested, captivated, make me cry, keep me on the edge of my seat, make me laugh and so many other different emotions. Blood Redemption was amazing and will be another all time favorite.
I love this series and this book was an amazing addition. I loved these 2 characters and how they differed from the ones before them. Their personalities reflected the past and history of the life the lived and it made this particular story really glow with life. I cannot wait till the next installment and to see where Tessa we lead us in this saga.
