Useful for showing how Trotsky was part of the bureaucracy himself, and why he led a late and lame opposition to it. It is also good for pointing out how nationalised property relations =/= socialism. However, this short pamphlet asks a lot as a common point of departure and would seem bizarre for most when it starts denouncing Trotsky’s support of the ‘democratic nations’ in The Second World War!
