Ascension

Rate this book
The world is dying, decay has crept slowly into the life blood of the Earth and the shadows of dusk are rising. The days of guns and missiles have once more given way to blades and bows.

Ascension is a bloody day that ritualises the passing into adulthood for the elite warriors of Shangri-La and gives hope to the people. The Acerbus Presidium soldiers have prepared for this most important day of their lives; men and women alike. Mateo and Adonna must lead their soldiers to victory or death and help ignite the light of faith in their people.

The class of Acerbus must each face their own demons if the city is to survive. They are the elite of their generation, destined to lead the forces of Shangri-La in a losing battle against their numerous enemies. Stability is crumbling and the citizens are struggling for survival.

The inhuman Atroxus Minuos grows in number, these monstrous creatures, a mix of techno-organic matter graze on human flesh; their motives wrapped in mystery. The Pedous Pulvis tribes of the north continue to wage a bitter war on the ailing city and all the while something far more sinister rises in the South.

The Acerbus rulers try to preserve tradition, whilst the Greywalkers, psychics of the city harness their energies against the desperate background of war. The atrocities of the past catastrophe are responsible for the sins of the present and the future for all mankind is in critical condition.
