Karmel Divine did an excellent job with getting the reader to feel Moonie's pain throughout this book! OMG is all I can say, I'm looking forward to part 2 for so many reasons. I don't want to say too much and ruin the book for readers who haven't read it but I'm so sure that so many people can/will relate to this story!!! The ending had me ready to go CRAZYYY!!! I wanted to help Moonie so badly!!! 5 star book!!!!
This was a good read in deed. It captured my attention right from the start. I was astonished at what the the three kids had to go through after losing their mother. I cried during the first five chapters. It was more than Bitchery it was heartbreaking. You will not put this book down once you start it. The story was well written and very believable. It's sad but true there are some sick people in this world that would treat children like Mama Carmen did. She was a true bully in every sense of the word. I will definitely look for part two.
This book is definitely a page turner!! This was my first time reading a book by Karmel Divine and I must say it is awesome!! After losing their mother Suki stepped up to the plate to do whatever to take care of her sister Moonie and brother Zain. After a while things took a turn for the worse. Don't sleep on this book because you will not be disappointed! Can't wait to read part two to see what happened next!!! Good job Karmel Divine!!!
This is a first read for me by this author Karmel Divine I have to give her a 5 star . What a good story about a bad situation that really happens I fell really bad for the whole family having to go through all that craziness... Well I hope something good happens for poor Moonie how much can you take at 16.
I liked this book, I cried most of the time cause there situation was unfortunate and very bad but I'm glad zain got a good home , I really liked mama can until she started to change then I'm like , I really whished She woulda stayed were she was inn the group home . I can't wait for part two , I really hope she doesn't go down for that mess !!!!
I couldn't read the abortion part, but the rest of the book was good. I hope Zain went to a good home, and I hope Carmen gets what's due to her because she was a mean witch.
I thought this was a good book but it had to many grammar errors and mis-wordings. It is getting very interesting and I am actually looking forward to the next installment. I did not understand why Moonie didn't just go to the police when her sister disappeared, make a missing persons report & give them the trucker Henry & Dafts names & locations. I also hope that life gets better for Moon & that she is reunited with her brother Zain but I guess that will be to come so I'll keep reading!
Such a great and captivating read. I disliked the ending because I didn’t want to stop reading. It ended in a cliffhanger! I highly recommend this book! I will check out other books from this author.
Let me just say, I got this book based off all the good reviews & there are a lot. Big mistake, I will never do that again. This book was horrible, it started off decent enough & then as it went on, it just got worse. It's not even urban literature, it's just a bunch of drama thrown together & the author called it a book. The story line was all over the place, even though it's a book, some of the stuff that happened isn't even believable & the ending sucked. I've read grade school books better than this, so glad I didn't waste my money & I got this book for free. Garbage
This book was a bit much for me. Not one good thing happend to Moonie. The poor girl lived a horrible life. I expected her to have some good days. This book is full of misery. I will have to be extremely bored to read another book in this series. The abortion scene was a bit much. My stomach actually hurt reading what few parts I could get through. I skipped over most of it. The story line wasnt bad, it just wasnt for me. Maybe it gets better as the series goes on...... doubt if I find out. Oh and I'm still trying to find out where the title came from!
This book told a story of what a young girl did to take care of her family after the passing of their mother. This author gives an in-site of what some children possibly go through while in foster care, struggling to survive. This author takes the reader through a storm of emotions. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series to find out what happens in the end.
sad and heartbreaking! i feel bad that those kids had to go through so much! after living how they did you would think a foster parent would be nice. Instead Moonie got the foster mother from HELL! and I hope Zaine's new family is nice to him. I really thought Moonie would find her sis smh. The ending definately makes me want to read part 2.
This book was very good from start to finish. This was a book all about family trying to survive in the mean streets. I can really understand what the author was saying in this book. The book was really sad to me but it was good at the same time. I give this book 5 stars. First time reading something from this author. Can't wait for part 2.
The storyline was good and interesting but there was here so many grammatical errors that I was rolling my eyes constantly. You cannot become fully absorbed in books with grammatical errors like this; it is distracting and lowers the quality of the book significantly. I guess hiring editors is a thing of the past.
This book was crazy good! This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last that's for sure. These characters are crazy as idk what. There's much to be told in the next piece of this book. A great read.
Not a bad book, lots of intrigue that keeps you up all night reading. I just really hated all the ridiculous names the author gave to the characters, plus I was left with too many questions.
Moonie has been through so much in her life loss her family. Ends up in group home to being fostered by a crazy lady. This book read just like a movie I couldn't put it down can't wait to start part 2 to see how Moonie ends up.
This book was just so dang sad. I could not stop the tears that came crashing from my eyes. I wished the series was on kindle unlimited because I don’t have the funds to buy all 8 books. Good read though.
the book started off slow but got close to the end and started to pick up one thing that mama is crazy as all he'll I will read part 2 and see what I will rate that one
this book was sad but real life situations. I love it. I'm glad I bought the entire series. it was so good I read it in 2 hours. couldn't put it down. big ups karmel divine
