Finding Home by Ann Vaughn I was given an ARC, from the author, Ann Vaughn, in return for an honest review.

I have to say that this book was a pleasure to read. Right from page one, I was hooked. Colt is downright hot (as in HOT!) As soon as he sees Sarah he is a goner. Sarah is having lunch with colleagues, who are all much older than her, and they point out to her that he is checking her out. Sarah, is quite naive as a result of her extremely sheltered upbringing, so dismisses what they are saying. However, later that afternoon, Colt has flowers delivered to her. This gets her attention and so begins the start of their romance.

Sarah was adopted as a child and her parents both passed away several years before, within months of each other. As a result, Sarah has been on her own most of her adult life. As a child her parents were exceptionally over protective, which Sarah did not question. Even after they died, she didn't think too much about her childhood or why things were the way they were. Colt on the other hand, left a career in the Military to be by his sister's side after her husband passed away. He moved next door to her to help her look after his nieces and he is close with his parents also.

As her relationship with Colt develops, she begins to find her world turned completely on it's head on many levels. Colt unwittingly opens up a long held secret, thus putting Sarah's life in danger.

This is a well written book, with a really enjoyable and believable storyline. Both Colt and Sarah have believable actions and reactions to situations as the story develops.

If you haven't already read Ann's first novel, Long Way Home, I would highly recommend reading this one also. The main characters from this book make cameo appearances in this one. I'm looking forward to reading more from Ann in the future and would have no hesitation to recommend any of her books to anyone.

I was fortunate enough to be offered an ARC copy of Ann Vaughn's latest book in exchange for my honest review

I will start off with saying that the beginning of this book was very cute, bright and cheery. I fell in love with Colt and that instant connection that he and Sarah had. The moment that they see each other we feel that attraction, and this is the beginning of a new path for both of them.

As Sarah and Colt get to know each other we learn how she was adopted as a child and has no family left in the word. Colt, feeling sad that she has been alone for so many years starts to dig into her past in hopes of finding her birth parents. Colt's past in the Military make him curious as to the sheltered way Sarah was brought up. Their relationship develops pretty quickly, and you see how cute and fun they are with one another, and how much they grow to care and need one another.

But looking into Sarah's past turns her life upside down, the things that they dig up make her question everything that she has known up to now. When I first read this book, I was expecting it to be a light, fun romance novel. But no, it took the turn into mystery, suspense romance book and I loved every second of it!! The twists and turns this book took was crazy! It shows how much Colt and Sarah loved one another and to what lengths Colt was willing to go to protect her. Even when I thought there wasn't another way I could be surprised Ann throws another twist to the story for me! I was gasping as I read this book. It was a great book to read, one that I highly enjoyed and recommend.

I recommend reading this one as well as her first novel "Long Way Home", both are stand alones, but characters do make small cameos in this book. I cannot wait to read more from her and would highly recommend her to fellow readers!

Finding Home by Ann Vaughn is exactly what a well written romance should be.This story is complex. It has mystery, love and some steamy scenes you don't want to miss.

At first I did not like the main character Sarah. She is stubborn and very closed. At times throughout the book I was yelling at her. I learned to love her and found myself identifying with her on some level by the end of the book.

Colt on the other hand was love at first read. He is charming, sexy and all the Alpha male you want in a great steamy romance novel. He also has all the compassion and sweetness you would want from a book boyfriend. Colt is in one word perfect.

Ann Vaughn writes with such magic that you are consumed by the story and you just crave more the further you read. You experience emotions for and with all the characters. The mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat and the roller-coaster of emotions touch your soul.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ann Vaughn is an author to watch out for. If you haven't read Ann's first novel Long Way home, make sure to pick it up, you won't be disappointed.
A very deserving five stars.

This is the first book I've read by Ann and I can guarantee it's not the last.

The characters in the plot Sara and Colt are brilliant, funny and endearing.

Every girls dream to have a good looking 6 ft5 hero fall in love with them with just one look.

Sarah sweet untainted even though she's been kept from her family and luxury for 27 years.

The families that surround these two as well as colleagues and friends all lead to a wonderful story of not only love but intrigue, kidnapping and excitement.

This book captured me right up until the last word and I was sad it finished. I just wanted more ....

While I am only able to give 5 stars, I feel that this book is in fact worth 6 stars. I recommend this book to everyone.

Finding Home is another great read by Ann Vaughn. It can be read as standalone but if you enjoyed the characters in Long Way Home than you will notice a couple cameo appearances. At first I wasn't a huge fan of Sarah, but I started to like her as I saw her relationship with Colt grow. She definitely finds herself with the help of Colt and other friends and you see why she is the way she is as part of her past is revealed. It was really interesting seeing this transformation, because it isn't always obvious in most novels. I liked Colt right away, he is sexy and goes after what he wants and what he wants is Sarah. Finding Home has romance, mystery and a little bit of angst.

This book is a surprise. Often romance books are: boy meets girl, they feel in love, boy and girl fight, boy and girl make up and they live happily ever after. This book, however, neatly incorporated the girl’s story and made the book richer.
When I first meet the hero (H) with the universal reaction to a stress in the job, I was less impressed and was expecting a cut out golden boy hero but as the book progressed, he became an individual that fits the story’s heroine (h) and a man I’d cheer for. He is a golden boy with his good looks, high paying job, great family and his military background. Yet he is just like any other man in this universal truth: he saw flaw so he went on to fix it even with the h’s saying no ‘leave it alone’ loud and clear. He is a typical modern warrior: strong in the face of storm and more than capable to withstand and push/stop/defeat said storm. I was starting to think him like a robot in his perfectness and then he show his soft/vulnerable side – in the restroom of all places – and my heart was melting for him. Girls, eat your heart out for this H.
The heroine (h), is a down to earth girl-next-door shy girl. I love that her support system isn’t just her age group. She is your typical ‘sheltered’ girl yet the cautious courage she possessed in going out with the H the first time hints at her inner strength. I’ll say it up front that this book is her story, her life, her journey. The way the author peeled her layer by layer as the story progressed kept me glued to my kindle. I connected with the h at first because she’s just like me: working hard for my next meal. Then as facets of her life are revealed I came to cheer for her just as my heart breaks for her. She really is a character that brings all the emotions out from any reader. If you like underdogs you will love this h and push her towards HEA.
Also, I love that the story isn’t just the romance between the H and h but also on the other side of the fence – in this case families and victims of crimes. It also focused on secondary characters. The victims of the circumstance and the fact that the line between black and white isn’t always clear with the bad guys and even the good guys. That part of reality incorporated in the story made it even more believable.
It’s not often that I’m inspired to write a review after finishing a book but in this, leaving a review was a joy. Recommended.

I really didn't think going into this book there was any way it could be as good or better than Long Way Home. Boy, was I mistaken. While there is no way I could pick over the other as my favorite, I truly am in love with Finding Home. There is just something about the take charge alpha side of Colt that is so mesmerizing. And then we have the sweetest girl in the whole world and loving about Sarah. The whole story is captivating. Colt has a strength in him and need to protect Sarah that is uncanny. He isn't willing to give up and no matter how hard Sarah tries to run, he just won't give up. Sarah and Colt together are an unstoppable force and have a love that everyone wants to have. Sarah and Colt both are wonderful characters and everything that happens they draw on each other for strength and ultimately love. Sometimes love really does conquer all. At least it definitely is the case for this book! I strongly recommend this book and every other one of Ann Vaughn's books. She is beyond amazing! I give this book a million 5 AMAZEBALLS stars.

Ann has written another story of a very alpha male and a strong damsel in distress. It is a sweet romantic mystery and keeps the reader engaged. The book is well written and the dialog very believable. The story takes the reader through the quickly budding romance between Colt and Sarah. Just when the reader thinks that there is nothing else to find out about them, Ann switches gear and the story becomes a mystery thriller. Sarah finds out that her adoptive parents had been involved in a baby kidnapping and her entire world is thrown upside down. What I love about Ann’s stories is that once the hero and heroine get together, there is no going back (no cheating, no misunderstanding that causes them to break up). Colt stays by Sarah’s side throughout it all. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to more from Ann!!

I had a hard time getting through the first 35% of this book for whatever reason. It read slow and I bored. Could have been my mood, who knows.

The only thing that kept me going was the hotness of Stuart Reardon on the cover.

Shallow? Yes. Ashamed? Not at all.

Once I hit the 45% mark the story started to really pick up and I ended up breezing through the rest of it.

I still wouldn't say I loved it or anything - in all honestly the first 35% and the remainder felt like two separate books in a way.

Regardless, Colt was swoon-worthy, kind of like a male romance lead of old. He was alpha hot and I loved it.

Save this one for when you feel like a sticky sweet romance with a lot of cheese. It really lays it thick, which I usually can't stand... Leaving me to wonder if it's getting only 3 stars from me BECAUSE of that, or IN SPITE of that.

The writing felt too detailed. The relationship felt too insta-love for me. It did not work in this instance. There was a switch in POVs mid-chapter. I just finished this book two days ago and I already forgot most of what it was about, etc.

It was a forgettable read. You may love it, but it was not for me. This is my opinion.

can easily say Ann Vaughn has become one of my new favorite authors! She just writes so well! First off, all of the men are awesome. Even their names are hot! Colton Harris. Just take me to Texas! Really, this guy is just too good to be true! How can he be so romantical! Colt meets Sarah while she is having lunch. Let the courting begin! He pays for their lunch and makes it his priority to find her and make her fall in love with him. These are just my words, he might not go that far but it is exactly what he did. He didn't know that Sarah's past would be so troublesome. She is such a sweet and wholesome woman. She did not realize that everything she thought her life was will turn out to be a lie.

If you loved book one you will love finding home. Colt is just so loving that you just can't help but fall in love with his strong protective alpha male side but then he is so sweet wow. And Sarah you want to just wrap her up and keep her by your side.she is so much stronger than she thinks. This story took my breathe away I was expected something along the lines of book one but wow this story line took it to a whole new level don't want to give any spoilers away but this book is a must read so go get it

Another amazing book by Ann Vaughn. Sarah and Colt's story was so incredible. Again there were twist and turns that keep me up way too late at night. Colt's love for Sarah was so sweet and caring even though at times it was a bit much for her. Sarah's life was turned around in such a short time and Colt was right there with her. I loved this book!

Holy hotness Colt!!!

Colt is a dream....Hot, loving, insightful...I could go on. Sarah was hard to like but with all that is revealed to her in this story, it is understandable why she is the way she is. Great love story with mystery and a bit of thriller thrown in it.

Initially I felt this book started off a bit slow-ish. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to dive in and lose myself in this book, but I did. I couldn't put this book down, reading it well into the wee hours of the night. I found myself crying (more than once) and really enjoyed the story.

What a great love story and an awesome HEA. Colt is a great book boyfriend. He's got the perfect combination of alpha and hot guy. The story almost felt like a Kristen Ashley Rock Chick book but less over-the-top drama. In fact, Ms. Vaughn pays homage to KA at one point, which I loved!

Colt - he's
definitely made the list of the best "book boyfriends".  He's really the whole package, caring,
thoughtful, a family guy, alpha, determined - oh, and sexy as hell.  After seeing Sarah at lunch with her
co-workers,  and hearing her laugh, he's
hooked.  Lunch is his treat - flowers are
delivered - and a returned email from Sarah to him - a date is set for that
night.

Sarah is
wondering if she did the right thing by accepting dinner with Colt after just
seeing him in the restaurant.  Sarah has lived
a sheltered life, home schooled most of the time, and rarely going out in
public - not to mention she hasn't really dated over the years.  She is used to keeping to herself since her
adopted parents both died when she was 18.
But luckily, she decides to take the plunge and accepts Colt's dinner
offer.

As their
relationship continues - Colt learns more about Sarah's past and her adoption - and
starts looking into who her birth parents are without Sarah knowing.  Sarah has been afraid to open the box that
her adopted mother left for her after she died - she's not sure she wants to
find out about her birth parents.  When Colt tells
her what he finds in regards to her birth mother - Sarah has a fit - and kicks
him out.

The story
from here on out is filled with twists that I never even saw coming.  I really felt for Sarah as she struggled to face the reality of the life she should have had - and the one that was given to her, and that she believed in.  There were so many
heart wrenching moments - I could barely put this book down, wanting to see how everything would play out.
 I loved the complex storyline,
and Colt and Sarah were perfect together.
Once again I have to say that I love Ann Vaughn's writing style - you will not be disappointed reading this book, a Five Star for sure!!!

Oh my Colt Harris former Army Ranger, was definitely not looking for love, but one day at lunch he saw Sarah across from him, their eyes locked, time stood still and he knew his love was about to change.
Sarah Sauter was used to being alone. She lost her parents when she was
eighteen and after a bad experience with love, had given up on ever
finding it again. Since all of this happend Sarah had been surviving until one day she saw Colt while at lunch with her co-workers. And she just saw the man that would turn her world Topsy turvy
When Colt walks into her life he finds that things are not quite the way they should be, hidden secrets are going to surface.
But Colt not one to give up, starts digging and the more he finds the more the secret is perplexing, will the two lovers make it despite what awaits them. I loved the story and would read more of Ann Vaughn's books, great story with enough in it to keep you on edge while you read the story.

I love how this book has romance and suspense at the same time. I felt like I was watching a motion picture. I totally believe in love at first sight since I've experienced it first hand.
Starts off at a restaurant where the first time they both laid eyes on each other. And how Colt was eaves dropping to Sarah's conversation with her co-worker, over heard one of them said her name and where she worked... When Sarah and her co-workers were ready to pay for the bill and finding out that Colt had paid for it. When she arrived at her work, there was a bouquet delivered to her work from who else? COLT! And there's a card with his email address and the rest is history.

"When I looked up from my phone and saw across the tables," he started, still holding a lock of her hair between his thumb and forefinger, lightly stroking it, "it was like one of those scenes you see in a movie, where everything else in the world just disappears. The sun was shining in through the window and hit your hair and time just stopped. And then you laughed. I thought it was the best laugh I'd ever heard"

"I had that feeling, you know, that you get when you know someone is watching you? I looked up and met your eyes...and my heart stuttered, and my breath caught."

He stroked a finger lightly down her cheek, sending a shiver through her.

"Pretty much the same reaction I had seeing you. I couldn't quite tell what color your eyes were. I thought green at first, then I looked again and they seemed almost turquoise. Now, I see flecks of gold...they are beautiful."

"Colt," she said softly, just before he leaned down and brushed his lips over hers. He pulled back and studied her for a moment, then cupped the nape of her neck in his hand to pull her closer and kiss her more deeply.

"So, when will you see him again?" Janine asked after Evan got a base hit.

"Tonight."

"Really? That's so exciting! I'm happy for you."

"Thanks. Hopefully I won't bore him to tears."

"That's could never happen," a deep male voice before them said.

Both women's head turned and looked up to the umpire who had removed his mask and turned to them after a third out.

"Colt!" Sarah gasped.

"Holy cow, that's him?" Janine whispered.

Here are some of they're text messages I loved. I waste adding it and blushed like a teenager.

Colt: I can still feel you in my arms and taste you on my lips. Sleep isn't going to come easily for tonight. Every time I close my eyes I see you on the boat, the wind in your hair. My dreams, when I finally do go to sleep, will definitely be sweet.

Sarah: 'blushing'...I swear you're too good to be true. I keep thinking any minute now I'm going to wake up and realize that the last twenty-four hours were just a really, really good dream. I've never felt so relaxed around a guy before. I can't believe it's only been twenty-four hours. It really feels like I've known you much longer.

Colt: Makes you believe in a whole concept of past lives, doesn't it? I looked into your eyes across the restaurant yesterday and felt like I've known you for years. Today when I held you on the boat, it felt like I was finally home, and I certainly didn't want to let you go tonight when you left. I've never believed in love at first sight...but you have me challenging many of the things I thought before.

"Oh. Wow, Sarah cried out.

Sarah: I wish you were here with with me now. I wish I could fall asleep in your arms. Is that crazy? We just met. But I can't help how I feel. When I was sitting in front of you with your chest against my back and your arms around me, I've never felt so safe.

Instead of an answer text, her phone rang, startling her when she saw Colt Calling on her ID.

You'll just have to read the book. Get it and you won't be disappointed.

This was a good story. I liked both Colt and Sarah and enjoyed their story. This is the first story I've tried by this author. I liked it but I felt that there was something missing that kept me from being completely engaged in the story. I almost gave it 4 stars but it ultimately fell slightly short for me. I didn't dislike it though and may try more of this author's work in the future,

Sarah is a nice lady who's a bit shy. She doesn't see her own worth and the few men she dated didn't treat her well. She was adopted and raised by older parents with little money. They died when she was 18 and she didn't get to go to college, instead she's been working a data entry job that she's had since she was 16.

Colt is a former Army Ranger. He grew up the son of military brass, moving around most of his life. His twin sister settled down with a husband and kids in Texas. When her husband died, Colt left the Army so he could move in next door and help her out. Now he does contract work for some private security firms and such.

Fair warning, this is an insta-love story...so much so that they even talk about how quick it's all happening. Sarah is at lunch with some of her friends from work and Colt happens to be in the same restaurant, sitting just 2 tables away. Colt's attention is drawn by Sarah's laugh and soon they're exchanging covert glances. Colt leaves without speaking to Sarah but pays for her and her friends' lunches. Colt was able to find out her name and where she worked so he decides to send her flowers. This gets them in contact and Sarah's work friends convince her to go out in a date with Colt when he asks.

They start dating and it's good but Sarah doesn't think she's in Colt's "league" and wonders why he asked her out and how long it will last. Colt on the other hand, is pretty much sure from the beginning that Sarah is "the one". Things go well between Sarah and Colt but there are some issues when Colt tries to find out more about Sarah's birth family. This brings about some surprising and alarming discoveries that rock Sarah's whole world. Colt is there for her but there's only so much he can do. Unfortunately, the revelations from Sarah's past brings danger to her doorstep and things get worse before they get better. Thankfully (with some help from Colt's old team) the danger is resolved and Sarah and Colt are together and starting their HEA at the end.

This was an enjoyable story. Sarah was a good heroine, I liked her and she wasn't annoying or TSTL. Colt was a very good hero, I can't think of one complaint about him. Overall, this was a good story and I don't regret reading it...I think the writing just wasn't quite my style but other may like it more than I did. :)

What a ride…. there was so much suspense going on in this story, it definitely kept me on my toes throughout.

Colt is…. well a dream come true for Sarah. Sarah has spent too many years alone. After both her parents passed away, she’s kept herself busy working at the same Christian gift store she’s been working at since she was sixteen. She keeps herself busy with her co-workers, and her neighbor next door. But she’s so lonely… you ache for her.

When Colt notices her at a restaurant having lunch – things start moving fast. He pays for her lunch, as well as her co-workers …. sends her flowers at work…. and asks her out for dinner that same evening. I guess, when it feels right – go for it!

Things are a bit of a whirlwind – Colt works in securities…. computers and other hands on projects. We get re-introduced to Tessa & Shane from Long Way Home… you can read my 5 star review…. HERE.

Sarah is adopted – something her parents were open with her about growing up. But Colt, wanting to do something nice for her, encourages her to find her birth family…. this is where things get REALLY interesting and Sarah finds out so many secrets her parents were keeping from her. Her entire life is held in a box and a letter her mother left her…. but Sarah needs Colt’s strength to get through it all.

There are a lot of surprises through out and I loved every bit of it.
