Republican Presidential contender Jeb Bush explains why a radical overhaul of national education policy is the key to saving the American Dream. The Bush family policy wonk and two-term Governor of Florida also offers his views on the power of humility as a leadership style (the Pope has it, Obama doesn't), why Quality Time is a myth, his own regrets as a father, and his view of the American future (we're in trouble). He also talks about Martians.
This is an interesting read and goes much deeper than a typical interview with a politician. While I don't agree with Bush on some issues, he is thoughful and clearly has passion for improving education in America. Even though this is an interview from a few years back, the topics are relevant for today. Given that Bush has announced his decision to enter the 2016 race, I am interested to hear what he has to say on the issues.
Jeb Bush hasn't written anything himself, so I downloaded this Kindle Single interview done in 2012 or 2013. The primary focus of the discussion is his views on education, and he proves himself to be very articulate, iconoclastic, self-deprecating, humble and intelligent.
