I have to admit it was slightly strange reading a book set in winter time whilst on holiday in August in hot weather. To be honest though as the book is so charming and heart warming, it is lovely to read any time of the year.
Little Charlotte, Catherine's daughter, definitely steals the limelight in this story. She is just adorable and really melted my heart.
This is a lovely story that has me fall in love with the characters. It is a relatively quick read of which I read in one sitting as I was so engrossed in the story. Loved it.
This is a seasonal…as you can guess!…romance by Faith.
One of the ingredients for a romance is usually a stubborn female protagonist who refuses to succumb to Mr Tall Dark and Handsome’s advances. And it’s always fun to see how long Miss I Will Resist You For As Long Possible will actually refuse to let down her defences and how the drop-dead gorgeous male protagonist eventually wins. And this story doesn’t disappoint one little bit. It’s a warm and cheering Christmas story.
Catherine Merryweather has been hurt twice by ‘unsuitable’ men. A single mother, with a five-year-old daughter, she’s fiercely independent and is adamant she won't be taken advantage of again by selfish men. As temporary manager in a small sub-post office in a pretty English village, she uncovers a letter that has lain, unposted, for many years. Little does she know that her endeavours to find the recipient of that letter will lead to love for more than one person…
This is the perfect novel to curl up and read on a cold winter’s evening with a cup of cocoa. The Christmas spirit cloaks the whole story with just enough charm and twinkly appeal. It’s easy to read, flows along at a nice steady pace, and of course, Faith’s clean, fresh, and uncluttered style make this a cosy little romance that will leave you with a smile on your face.
Faith Mortimer. Easy To Read On Christmas Hill Catherine is a single mother trying to raise her 5 year old daughter, a few weeks prior to christmas her world seems to be falling around her, she loses her job then the flat which she rents has a ceiling which collapses. This means she is staying with friends for a bit, her world changes when her daughter and her go to visit Santa Clause at the local department store. Will her world change for the better ! . This is a feel good book and like me you will spend a bit of the time smiling at the words as you read them. This is a stand alone novel which I am sure you will enjoy, it is as every book is by Faith Mortimer very well written and very descriptive. 5 stars. 12 November 2013
I don't really read romantic types of books . I'm more horror and crime type . But this book was refreshingly wonderful . Beautifully written, not too slushy and lovely short chapters . I will certainly be reading more by Faith ..

Is Christmas Hill a real place? I suspect it is. The English settings and the walk through Christmas traditions shared and to be discovered made this book an almost ideal read. Why only 3 stars? Attraction resembling too near lust is not the path to true love, IMO.
Ms. Morimer's boy-meets-girl story is a lovely bit of holiday romance and reverie. Sometimes it takes kindness to rebuild trust when a woman has been betrayed, and a vision of beauty and family can bring a busy business man back to the heart of the season. Even though undeniably attracted, the secrets they hide will have to be revealed before love finds its way On Christmas Hill.
