Writing has always been her passion but fate sometimes has other roads that must first be taken . Navigating the road less traveled was not only unexpected but in the end extremely rewarding. Her books are mainly contemporary romance but she has delved into the paranormal and plans on expanding into other areas as the ideas come to her. Right now she is enjoying life and seeing her work come into fruition make it that much more pleasurable especially when her books make others smile. Kassanna wouldn't have it any other way.

This was a short quick read. This story felt like there was a lot missing from it a lot of missing details. This was my first time reading this author and their were a few errors in it. El is the Alpha of a pride of lions with a few other shifters added in. El's pride used to be based in Africa but the tribesmen they protected for years turned on them and started selling off their lands and killing the pride. El and some of the pride moved to America where he set up an agreement with the government where he and his people would help with certain contracts and in return they were allowed to settle in the US and get paid for their work. Nae is a bounty hunter that's sent after a bounty for a man that's supposed to be El. She goes to a bar he's supposed to be at and ends up in the middle of a bunch of shifters. She announces she's looking for El and Zima (a female lion shifter) decides to try to kill her. She tries to take El in for the bounty but instead ends up carried off by him and they go off and have loads of sex for the night. Nae knows she shouldn't but can't seem to stop herself. It ends up that Nae is a special human that is destined to be a shifter's mate and Nae is El's. Nae wants to leave but can't convince herself to. In the mean time, El and his people are trying to figure out why someone would send Nae after him for a fake bounty. There were some good things about this story that I did like and I wanted to rate this book higher, but it was too many missing parts and the sex scenes were lukewarm. This is the first book in this series and maybe the next book will be better.

Love, love, love Kassanna's shifter shorts. Just wish they were all full length novels, her shifter world's have the potential to be as good as Cole's IAD. Can't wait for the next installment of this series as well as her "Pack" series. Great shorts...Could be better novels...but since they are shorts...Hurry up with the next installment for both series. Please & Thank you.

I like this read so much I will purchase the next book of pride series. the heroine in this book is wicked sarcastic. hero kind act like unnoticed with brains.

I love Kassanna’s books😻
I’ve read her other series and for some reason I had not read this one. Action, with Alpha males and Sassy take no crap females, with a good dose of humour🙌. What’s not to love 💖

I'm of the general opinion that shifters and vampires are stupid. Once in a while I have to give an exception to a story that tickles my fancy. This one did because of the spunk and funny heroine.

Quit, easy story. I really enjoyed it, though even I was shocked at how quickly Nae slept with El. I will read the next book.

2-2.5 stars
I really hated to give this story 2 stars because I kind of liked it (at least parts of it) but there were enough plot holes and things that didn't make sense that I just couldn't convince myself to give it 3 stars. This is the first story I've read by this author and based off this it's unlikely I'll try more of her work. Thankfully this was a freebie from Amazon so it wasn't a big loss.

There were some parts of the story I liked but so much that was wrong. There were some editing errors but I don't usually care about that. No cleaning the wound or wiping up the blood or anything like that. Also there's the fact that the intruder that set Nae up to hunt a bounty on El actually thought that Nae, a human, is going to be able to get El to go back to Reno with her?!?!? Seriously? She's a human and he's s shifter...how is that supposed to work?!?! Also, there was a big lack of description at times. People got brought in with no intro or background and you're left trying to figure out who people are and what they are in the pride. There were just a number of things that didn't work out or were left hanging. The sex scenes were alright but there were a coupe of WTF moments, like the first sex scene and the use of the word "honeypot" which was a little too cheesy for me.
Overall, I can't really say the story was good but there were some good parts and one that even made me laugh out loud (literally). I'd term this as more interesting than good.

Prey starts with our bounty hunting heroine, in town to kick ass and get her man. The opening scene was all sorts of awesome and raised my expectations, had me thinking maybe I'll get sensible characters. BUT when the main characters meet, the hero is almost immediately rubbing up on the heroine, at this point I was expecting her to tell him off and if necessary kick butt (like what any rational woman would do if a random guy, hot or not did that). But instead she succumbs easily (like a two-bit ho) and I quickly lost interest. Maybe if the sex scene that the author was rushing to was on fire, maybe I'd stick it out, but it wasn't even that.
Another annoying facet was after all that fuss about El being a bail hopping criminal the MCs don't discuss it (with each other) after the initial encounter.

Eldridge "El" Khune, is a lion shifter and heads a pride of different breeds of shifters, he is being pursued by Nae McCain, a bounty hunter, who has been hired to return El to Reno to address criminal charges. Nae is unaware that El is a shape shifter until after they meet and he claims her as his mate. There is one major unresolved issue in this story-pride leadership. El 's leadership of the pride is being undermined by a couple of members within the pride based on their loyalty to his brother who plans to challenge El as leader. As a free book, this was a chance for me to read a genre for which I am trying to acquire a taste.

This is the second time I have read this ebook since I purchased it and I still got really sucked into the story line. Nae the newbie bounty hunter going after the big bad biker lion sounds outrageous, but it was well written.
It must have been the cat fight at the beginning of book where Nae has to fight off the psycho lioness that thinks she’s all that, lol yeah right, Nae has her beat.
I will undoubtedly read this book again. 😉

Overall the characters and plot are good but I didn't care for the execution. For one I find it odd that a group of lion shifters would all be white coming from the African continent. I also had a problem with the interaction of the h/h not being developed enough, they didn't spend any time getting to know one another. It would have enriched the story had the H/H had a real conversation about who they were. Kassanna is a good writer but this book seemed rushed.

Warning: Cliff hanger.... Still Loved it until the end, Nae, bounty hunter was sent to bring in El for jail bouncing, or what ever it was called, anyway she never expected to turn into the mate of the chieftain of this lion clan and that El is her mate. El was framed in Reno by is own brother and now there is hell to pay for what his older brother is doing to El's clan and what has been going one behind his back.

This book has your attention as soon Nae enters the biker bar and someone e sniffs her. She can hold her own and finds a freaky world of shifters and a very hot alpha . You immediately like the secondary players because they could be your crazy friends. The villain is pretty standard, but he has plans. Truly sorry when I realized the words at the bottom of the page said the end. Dying to see what the cousin gets I to!

This was a short but great read! A bounty hunter, a case of mistaken identity and hot and sweaty times in the bedroom that leave you so exhausted you have no choice but to take a nap to recuperate! Cliffhanger ending but cannot wait for the continuation in Primal!!!

Just a little quickie, just enough to jump right into some serious chemistry that can't be denied between El and Nae. Basically sets up a series to come of a band of misfit shifters including lions and a tiger, an eagle and a hyena. Lots of instantaneous attraction. Story left you wanting more.

Great short read, but not TOO short for me. It kind of ends in a cliffhanger. Nae and El's mating is a done deal, but an ongoing conflict carries over to the next book which features another couple. This book was free on Amazon, and I enjoyed it enough to buy the next in the series.

Kassanna takes the reader on a hot, sexy, sensual ride. I couldn't put the book down and had to finish it in one sitting. I am so ready for the sequel--I want to know about Trace and Shay.

This made for a hot but quick read. I liked it had a variety of shifter animals. If the other books in this series are fairly priced I'm sure this is a.series I will continue.
