Final Detour
Jillian and Alec are two college students whose lives collide when both of their sisters perish in fatal car accidents on the remote Falls Highway. When clues reveal the possibility that the deaths were not accidents, the two join forces to explore what secrets the surrounding forest is harboring. With the help of a few friends, they begin an investigation into both their sisters’ deaths, as well as those of a host of other victims who have perished on the same stretch of road. What they discover is both frightening and unsettling, taking them beyond the unexpected. Final Detour is a prefect blend of paranormal mystery and romance. The struggling romance provides a suitable conflict between characters and distracts them from their drive to solve the mystery. The mystery side of story provides nuggets of information revolving around the mounting strange occurrences. Whether the reader enjoys the story for the mystery or the romance, the presentation of both drives the reader to want to keep reading to know more. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Brunner's stories.
