Hi, I am Frances. I have been in Education for the last 12 years either as a primary school teacher, teaching assistant or tutor. I am a mother of two based in Nottinghamshire with my husband and crazy dog!

I love writing books. I have wanted to do it from such a young age, but unfortunately, I had 'that' teacher who said I wasn't great at writing. But fast forward twenty years, and I realised actually, it doesn't matter what that person thought anymore because I love writing. It was getting to that point where I would be reading 1 or 2 books a week and becoming so frustrated with the ending or, wanting something different to happen that I was desperate to write my own and these books exploded out of me!

So I hope you love them as much as I do!

So, I've completely done this all in the wrong order - but this is actually the third book in the Purple Hearted Series, which I've already read books 4 and 6 - Unforgettable and Never Again.
Although these books are part of the same series, this book focusses on completely different characters - so worked perfectly well even if you've read none of the other books.

However, I absolutely love this authors writing style and content and so I'd definitely recommend reading these and I'm determined to grab the books I'm missing and give them all a read (and re-read) in the right order soon.

This story deals with and explores quite a few really tough topics - please do check the content warnings before reading!
But, if you're ok with everything, then this really is a beautiful read.

I wasn't instantly in love with the characters but as the story unfolds, I warmed to them completely and really just wanted to dive in and help them through their trauma.

Following alternating chapters to begin, we learn the background of both Sophie and Oliver and the events that had led up to the present day where we find these two broken people.
I hadn't read the blurb beforehand so just from the text, I really wasn't sure when they met, where the storyline was going - but I think this is why I loved it more. There was that uncertainty that kept me racing through the book.

I loved how the characters developed - both the way they dealt with their initial traumas, how they pulled themselves out of this and also the way they offered support and a future for each other.

This was hard to read in places and I admit to having a few tissue moments - but there were still lots of gorgeous scenes which had me smiling and even some humour thrown in too (I'm thinking Hope's new word for chicken nuggets!!) - all of which fitted perfectly within the context of the storylines.

I loved this book so much and can't wait to read more by this author.

This is the first book in the Purple Hearted Series I have read and wow, it was a brilliant one to start with. I have had the pleasure of organising some of the tours for these under Hygge Book Tours and trust me when I say, they can be read as stand-a-lones, so if this sounds up your street don’t hesitate to give it a go!

I got lost in this book, and I found myself trying to purpously make openings such as driving a longer route, or replacing it for my gym music, just so I could continue to listen to it.
It did take me a few chapters to connect with the narrators, but I’m also new to audio books and I soon got into the flow. It is safe to say David smashed Oliver’s shouting parts that’s for sure!

I found the characters to be very likeable, I really did want the best for them and at times, I wanted to be able to give them both a huge hug. This was such a rollercoaster of a read, heartwarming yet heartbreaking, and I did find myself well up in places, which is a rareity for me and why the book earned 5 stars!

I won’t spoil things for you, but the ending I did satisfy and relief me at the same time, this was a lovely little romance, with a perfect balance of smut and swears, not over bearing but enough to have you grinning from ear to ear at times.
This has been a pleasure to review and to have on tour.

I will admit, I was not exactly sure what to expect with this one. The cover drew me in, but the blurb did not exactly give away much about what the book is as going to be about or even what genre this might fall into. It is true though, that this can be read, or in my case listened to, as a standalone. I was completely new to this series and definitely did not feel lost or anything.
I did like the narration, as it did a great job at bringing the characters off the pages for me. I liked the tone and flow the narrator had and how well they were able to make the story flow. It made it such an easy listen.
I did not actually take to the characters too quickly. There was just something about the start that kept them distant, even with the great narration. However, after about three to four chapters, I started really enjoying all the little details I was getting and then liked getting to know them. I did like the flow and pace of the story, as well as the overall storyline. It was a nice book and one I enjoyed listening to.

This is book 3 in the Purple Hearted Series bu can be read as a stand-alone book. I really enjoyed this one. I jointly read this as an ebook and listened to the audiobook of this.

I enjoyed the narration of this. Told from the duel POV perspectives of Sophie and Oliver this was en emotional read / listen at times as the two MCS deal with various trauma issues. (So do check TWs for this one)

The audiobook version of this definitely added to my enjoyment of the MCs relationship, so it's worth a listen if you get the chance.

I loved the character growth and story development of this book,

They weren't instantly likeable charactesr for me if I'm honest, but it was good to see how these two interacted with each other and I loved the outcome of this story in the end.

Overall this was an emotional rollercoaster of a read, with a cute mix of sweet moments, heartbreak and romance.

Worth a read.

This book is the third book in the Purple Hearted Series and somehow I had missed reading this one! I absolutely binged this book, I couldn’t stop listening to it. I needed to know what was going to happen so I was listening at every opportunity I could.

I really enjoyed the narration of the characters they really helped to bring the story to life.

I really liked both Sophie and Oliver’s characters. They were both so likeable and my heart was breaking for Sophie at times. It was so lovely to see how both of them dealt with their problems and how they supported one another.

I adore this whole series and I highly recommend reading them. They can be read as standalone stories but I think they are best in order.

Thank you to Hygge Book Tours for having me on the tour and to the publisher for my gifted audiobook.

This was a beautiful book about healing and rediscovery.
Sophie went through what too many women go through and it changed her.
Oliver lost his best friend in the most public way and he will never be the same.
I liked how this explored Sophie's healing from her trauma and the relief one feels when the culprit is no longer able to torment them.
Oliver is great as the patient potential love interest, even with his own trauma to heal from. Their friend to lovers journey is simple and lovely.
The narration was great, and I am a sucker for a Scottish accent.
I received a copy via LibraryThing and all opinions are my own.

WOW!! What a wonderful story. It felt so down to life with real situational reference that were easy to relate and become so engaged with the Characters. The development of the characters were great. The story line of a wounded woman with an unexpected pregnancy trying to find a reason to go on. Finding a reason from day to day until Oliver comes into her life. Just as wounded they are perfect for each other. They become the comfort each of them were searching for. I loved the fun and flirty banter that Sophie and Oliver had. I found myself smiling and laughing alone side with them. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great romantic book.

I saw another review that said I just wanted to keep listening. And she was totally right!!!

I received this audio book from HBPublishing House UK. I love when audiobooks have a variety of character voices. This is a full cast. There is a few trigger warning to note. Please look for those.

This was a sweet story and truly wished that it was longer to get to know the characters more. That being said this short story was very touching and I would highly recommend reading/listening to this
