Mercy’s actions may have finally caught up with her and the consequences dire. The demon she freed with her dagger may prove to be more dangerous dead than alive.
With determination that has no bounds, Mercy sets out on a quest to make things right. No matter the price or at the cost of her own life, she will persevere and is determined to have no mercy for anyone who gets in her way.
Thrust into another realm on a promise that seems meaningless now, she will find her heart in an unexpected place. Love will conquer all, and the two will become one if they are all to survive.
Shannon first love was reading, diving into other realities to explore and brave new worlds. To share her writing is the best experience of all. She writes both young adult, new adult and adult fiction. When Shannon isn't writing she loves to shop and watch horror movies that make turning out the lights seem like a stupid idea. I think I have an addiction. To Shannon Dermott's writing, this series...Flynn!
I'm not even able to fully function emotionally, now that I've finished Have No Mercy. What do I do? How do I live until the next book?!
What I do know is that each book in this series is just as good as (if not better than)the previous book, and Have No Mercy is no exception. Filled with mystery, sizzling romance and a collection of intriguing characters, it's definitely a must-read :)
Pre-read review:
The end of the last book left us all in a bit of a catatonic state.
But you guys know what this next book means, right? Right?! It means more Flynn!
I mean...sure, it also means more heartbreak, challenges, and other lovely things for Mercy to deal with. But hey - Flynn makes everything better!
Hopefully us Flynn fangirls will last until Have No Mercy comes out...
Will contain spoilers from the previous books in the series.
Wow. That was disappointing. I usually just don’t finish books I don’t like but I wanted to know how the series ended (btw SURPRISE it isn’t the end of the series). This book was shit-tastic! The only reason it’s getting 1 ½ stars is because there was a period of about 25% in the middle which I thought was really well done. The rest however…
I seriously don’t understand! Angel of Mercy was so flipping good and then this way-below-average hot mess. And do you want to know what confuses me the most… this book has a 4.08 average rating on goodreads and there are tons of 5 star ratings. Did we read the same book?????? Did somehow I get a different copy to the rest of you? Like I got the first draft, before it’d been completely rewritten!!? I just don’t get how people could have read the same book I did and say they thought it was flawlessly amazing?
Okay well now that I have my hate rant over I suppose I should give you some reasons why this book sucked so much:
Since when are the Cambion books Fey books? Since the second last book in the series apparently. Dermott must have been like, hey I’m kind of over the usual stuff I’m going to make the ENTIRE book a Fey novel. Chuck in some Queen Mab, some Queen Titiana through in some twisted truths and Wallah you have a Fey book where one didn’t exist!! And do you know what annoys me more than Dermott making this book a Fey book? The fact that I’m like 80% sure that Fey aren’t going to be in the next book.
It has the most rushed ending ever. My theory is that Dermott realised that she probably had about 100 more pages to go before she had had to seriously start cutting stuff so she was like well I better start rounding out storylines now. And BOOM that’s what happened one after another a rushed storyline was finished. It was the most frustrating thing to read. There were so many things happening in the book so when she started to finish everything off it was the most obvious thing in the world! It really was. I hated it and it just turned my overall annoyance at the book over the edge. Oh especially the way she tied up the killing Sebastian at the end of Angel of Mercy storyline. OMG ARGHHH !!!!
Storylines from the end of Angel of Mercy were not even addressed. Things like Mercy having a prophecy and that she had that power that drew upon heaven and hell from the end of Angel of Mercy. Why weren’t these things mentioned Dermott? Why weren’t they expanded on and explored to learn more about them? How come you didn’t do that and instead decided to write a Fey book! Other things like Mercys' mum and David were fighting at the end of Angel of Mercy but they’re happy again in Have No Mercy, like how? Why bring in these storylines if you don’t plan to do anything with them?
All the new characters. Seven new characters are introduced in Have No Mercy and all except two I hated. And not hated in I love to hate them or they’re interesting to hate kind of way but in an ohmygod you are so annoying please fuck off kind of way. And Dermott has the time to bring in six new characters but she only had a sentence or two to mention main characters who have been around from the start like Paul, Brent and Tom. (Although I think the next book will be the opposite way around and be all about Tom and Brent and Dermott won’t mention any of the Fey characters). Is this a book or a day time soap? Mercy loves Luke, wait she means Flynn, wait it’s always been Luke, but she always wanted it to be Flynn. And we’ll chuck in an extra guy for shits and gigs and then Bam he isn’t who he say he is but he loves her and Flynn and I can’t be together but Oh how we want to! I just can’t handle it at this point. She and Flynn are going to end up together and I’m sick of herself made drama. Plus she’s meant to have grown up and matured but the Mercy I’m reading now is 30 times more annoying then she ever was at the start. All the spelling and proof reading mistakes! There were a lot of these in Beg for Mercy and Waiting for Mercy but they went away in Angel of Mercy so I thought they were gone for good. I was wrong. There back and they’re as bad as ever.
Now I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I will be reading the next book for three reasons:
- It’s the last in the series and I don’t want to leave the series unfinished. Plus who knows maybe it’ll be like Angel for Mercy and be really good. - A small amount of this book was actually good. The bits between Flynn and Mercy and the alternative universe dream bits, I really enjoyed reading. - The very last sentence of the book. Does it mean what I think it means??
OH MY FREAKING GOD!!! Okay, okay...before I lose my freaking mind, let me get this review done.
First. After the ending of the last book “Angel of Mercy” my hopes weren’t high on this book going anywhere good, and I was right. I’ve been all Flynn from day one so every time Mercy stomps all over his heart I want to bitch slap the girl. Of course, seeing as I never really liked her as a character to begin with, I find myself wanting to slap her about every few paragraphs.
In this particular book, she is tin times worse. Yeah, this girl’s selfishness and arrogance knows no bounds. Not to mention the story was all over the place. Too much was going on and it seemed like the author was trying to rush through things so she could shove even more in.
As for the ending...yeah, like I didn’t see that one coming. And it still managed to piss me off. The only reason I’ve stayed with this series is to see how it ends for the guys. Mercy can go choke on something for all I care.
Another phenomenal addition to the Cambion Series.
As always, Shannon pulls together an intriguing plot with the characters you already love and a few new ones to mix it up. Have No Mercy is a suspenseful, witty, and entertaining journey to the very end. And in true Shannon style, an ending to leave you craving more.
Reading a Shannon Dermott book is always a treat. If you have not started this series, I fully recommend giving it a try. It does not disappoint!
Amazing like always. That's not really surprising considering it was written by Shannon Dermott. Her series transports you in its universe and makes you want to never quit it. Ever. Well, this installement was no different. I went from surprise to surprise. Review to come.
Okay I may be a bit exaggerating! HAHAHA! But the guy knows exactly what to say and what to do to make my heart flutter ❤
I've been binge reading the Cambion series for a week now. Love triangle is really my thing but hell, this series gave me a love PENTAGON! Yes! Four hot boys vying for the attention of our "anti-succubus protagonist," Mercy. There is Luke, the golden boy as he was called in the series, who is a nephilim. Flynn, the hottest and most gorgeous guy as he was described, is an incubus. Sebastian, another eye candy, is a demon and a prince of hell at that. And Paul, the best friend of Mercy, who is the only human in this bunch.
Have No Mercy is the 4th book in the installment and it focused on Mercy and Flynn's feelings for each other. It is my favorite because I get to see Flynn's true personality, his kind nature, and how he would do anything to make Mercy happy even at the expense of his own heart. You see Luke and Flynn are best friends, and in love with the same girl.
Now what I've just said is TMI. I will have to stop now to avoid further spoilers. I've already read the 5th and last book in the series and I'm satisfied with the ending although it may be a little freaky.
Read on and see who won Mercy's heart at the end.
*PS Yes I am team Flynn but it was really hard for me to choose between him and Luke. Both are just dreamy and perfect BUT it's hard to resist the bad boy. 🙈🙉
“That girl was you. And I was such a jackass because I was mad at myself for giving you up. I sent you into his arms. Then, it was too late. You were his, when you belonged to me. You were my redemption, my forever girl, and I’d given you up.” 4 out of 5
So this one was better than the third book. The Elven Queen calls in her owed deal from Mercy. Mercy travels to the fay lands of course Flynn joins her. Is there nothing that boy won't do for her? And still, she denies him over and over. She needs a knock in the head. The Fay lands are interesting and another nice thing is there is hardly any monologue about Luke. I call that a win. The ending had be going oh no! I so hope what I read was of her imagination.
Dang, dang, dang!!! What started out as a favorite series of mine has been dwindling in my favor recently. I've been waiting for this fourth installment for a long time and had high hopes for it even though I wasn't a fan of how book three ended. I'll give props to an ending I wasn't expecting and it wasn't a popular one....but it kept the reader guessing, which I can appreciate.
Unfortunately, as much as it pains me to say, this story felt like fluff that was just added to it just to say there was another book in the series. You know those TV episodes that sometimes occur and seem really out of place as just filler material? Yeah, that's what this felt like.
SPOILER ALERT!!!! PLEASE SKIP AHEAD IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED ABOUT THE ENDING TO BOOK 3!!!! The end of book 3 leaves us with the unexpected death of Luke. Naturally the reader would think book 4 would take us one of two directions. Direction #1: Mercy grieves the loss of Luke and as a result grows even closer to Flynn and Flynn fans are finally satisfied with their opportunity at a relationship. Direction #2: Mercy finds a way to search for Luke with the help of Flynn. END OF SPOILER!!!
The direction of book four takes Mercy and Flynn into Fairy land on a quest sent by the Elven queen as payment for her having helped Mercy previously to find Luke. The entire story takes place in Fairy land and in the grand scheme of the story doesn't take Mercy any closer to finding Luke OR any closer to understanding her feelings and connection to Flynn. Basically what that boiled down to for me was huge disappointment.
After waiting for four books to explore more of Mercy's feelings with Flynn I felt robbed, cheated and confused. There's a scene that happens in what the Winter Fae call "the bedroom where dreams come true" where I wasn't sure if what was happening was real time or dream time. And it certainly wasn't fulfilling for the reader who is a fan of Mercy and Flynn together. Time and time again Flynn continues to sacrifice himself for Mercy and she can't decide how she really feels about him and therefore keeps breaking his heart.
Another irritation for me with this book was the number of grammatical errors throughout the entire book. Missing words, words spelled wrong and the wrong use of words used.
The heat and passion we've come to associate with Flynn was missing in this book as well. He's one seriously hot dude who uses his crudeness and sarcasm to lighten things up in serious situations. This book fizzled out more than it burned with his hotness.
Overall guys, I'm just disappointed. I was expecting much, much more than what I read. And that makes me sad because I've really loved this series up until this book. There's a 5th and final book planned but no date is set yet as to when it may be released.

YES YES YES, I’VE READ IT! AND MY HEART, I CAN’T JUST…
I love this series, they are so different from every other YA Supernatural books, there’s no good guy, no stupid innocent, helpless girl and TOO MANY FEELS!
Luke, Mercy’s angel boyfriend is dead, Mercy is unable to try to move on and accept his death, to my annoyance. Most of the book was spent on Mercy hurting Flynn’s feelings for her, over and over again – no novelty here… I get it, her boyfriend had just died, we can’t expect for her to just move on with other guy, even if it is dreamy, hot, god-like Flynn. Still, it was totally unfair the fact that she just kept on pinning for Flynn, giving him false hope, even if at the end, she would ever choose him. I really want Mercy to end up with Flynn, but things shouldn’t just be rushed over as if Luke or Sebastian hadn’t ever existed.
First things first, Mercy should just accept the fact that her boyfriend is dead and she needs to move on with her life -WITHOUT anyone – after some time away from boys, she should grow some lady balls and realize that she LOVES Flynn (she really does) and be happily-ever-after with him.
So this was what I wanted to happen.
Instead we have Mercy travelling to the world of Fey beings to keep her end of the bargain with Queen Tatiana. She must find Queen Tatiana’s son and return him to her. Too bad that he is with the Fey Queen of cold, winter and Bitches, Madeleine.
Some parts of this book I didn’t QUITE like, first one, like I’ve already explained, >Was Mercy not being able let Luke be dead and leave it alone, second one was Mercy giving false hopes to Flynn, and third, I hated how confusing this whole book was!!!
- And then Flynn, he is so confusing, not to mention a total douche to Mercy. Get a grip boy!
Anyway, the final chapters of this book can be described in the following words:
Mercy, you're driving me insane!! You love Luke, got it, noted, it's practically in stone... you also love Flynn...and now with Luke gone you can't just enjoy the pretty badboy that is Flynn?? Are you MAD!? Admit it already!!! GAWWW!
#TeamFlynn <---- always have been, always will be!
This book is a great in-between-er, it's laying ground work for the next book. I enjoyed it, but I felt a little yanked around. Keeping up with all the guys that want Mercy for their own, she has a hard time trying to dodge bullets, keep Flynn safe and admitting how much she adores him. Yet that need to find Luke after his death *coughs* is gnawing stronger than ever. This whole novel basically takes place in Fairy, and Mercy is damned to find a loop hole that leads her to Luke. Flynn, the innocent -not so innocent- by stander is there to pick her up before she falls, always the guy willing to be a stand in. Poor Flynn! Mercy is busy keeping up with her promises, we meet several different characters that will be key pieces to the end of Mercy's story, and all worth while...but still....Poor Flynn!!!
And the ending...can we talk about the ending?
Yup, thats me, I don't care about the sexy gladiator, I mean, I do, but I don't, because unless Flynn started wearing those strappy sandals and a chest plate, I don't give a rip.
Be cause blondes ruin everything.
Is it 2015 yet?
Pick up this series if you love a dash of supernatural and twists and turns that leave your head spinning and you thirsty for more!
Edit: I did post a review on Amazon and sent it to shannondermott.com and received a few chapters of the next novel! Thank you Shannon your an amazing author and great to your fans!!
Have No Mercy…. I have been trying to put my head together on this book. I am a bit conflicted because I am a big (obsessed) Luke fan. To say I missed him in this book is an understatement.
HNM itself is full of action and adventure, conflicting emotions, and OMG moments that took my breath away. I am thinking the title is accurate because Shannon sure is not having Mercy on us.
There were so many things going on and so many new people. Fairy land is not all cotton candy and lollypops, the way I imagined it to be. Belial still freaks me out. Mercy’s grandfather’s change in attitude was an interesting addition. I cannot wait to see what he was really saying in his cryptic message during the dream walking. The Winter and Summer Sisters were a bit odd. Not sure if I can say either one were on the up and up with Mercy. Rowan was the biggest surprise I was actually liking him and the twist at the end had me tied in knots. Flynn still does nothing for me. His speech was too little too late. He did not give Mercy to his best friend, her heart choose Luke. She could have changed her mind a million times but when it is all said and done, it has always been Luke. I will say Mercy kisses too many people and is starting to get a little slutty with it but after all she is a succubus.
I still say this is one of my favorite series. If I could I would give it more than 5 stars. Have No Mercy left so many questions with all directions the story could go. I am still on Team Luke and hope his and Mercy’s future are together. I am left questioning if Sebastian even has a future.
**Contains some spoilers -- Don't read if you haven't read the book**
Poor Flynn.
It's really frustrating to watch Flynn get constantly rejected by Mercy. Flynn has always been the logical choice for her for numerous reasons. Doesn't matter how many people tell her, she has/had to figure it out on her own. She loves Luke. I get it. Luke definitely made the ultimate sacrifice for her but isn't everyone in her life willing to do the same? Flynn is dying because of her rejection. Yes, she wants to save him but saving him will make her admit her true feelings for him. He literally had to be on the brink of death to gain her help.
It worries me what will happen in the next book. Luke closed out this book...what will happen to poor Flynn since he finally started to get his chance with Mercy?
The one thing I really didn't like about this book (which was a huge part of it) was the whole Fairy thing. I get why they had to go there and what they had to do but it felt like they were there for a really long time. A ton more characters were introduced and I found myself forgetting who some people were.
The only other gripe I have is Mercy's indecisiveness and her little kid actions throughout the series (like stomping away from the table or group when someone teases her). This is a YA novel/series and she is 17 so I suppose her actions are to be expected. I probably was the same way at 17 tbh.
Anyways, fantastic series so far.
Come on Shannon Dermott! Let Flynn win her heart. #Team Flynn.
Wow! This book was quite a ride! So full of surprises. When Mercy left to meet the elven queen at the end of the last book, I had no idea where things were going to go. Mercy went through a lot in this book and even though there were times when I wanted to shake her, I totally love her strength and determination!
I thought this book would be all about saving Luke, turns out I was wrong. However, even though I absolutely love Luke and missed him terribly, I enjoyed the story immensely. . I loved the addition of the fey, and I felt for Mercy because she had a really hard time surviving all of their evil machinations. This book was very different from the rest, mostly because it happens in a completely different world, but also because we were missing several important players, but don't worry, sooner or later we see them again ;)
I have to say, I'm still Team Luke. I can't help it, I'll always love him. Though Flynn makes a really good case for himself in this book. I truly hope there is a way for Luke and Mercy to be together and still give Flynn's a HEA. THAT ENDING JUST KILLED ME! I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THE NEXT BOOK!
Overall, I'm really happy with the way things unraveled. Whether you're Team Flynn or Team Luke, you'll love this book
Hm. I feel like I waited forever for this book. To finally get what I thought was the conclusion for an entertaining and really good PNR series. My expectations were kind of high. Maybe too high...I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Not in the one character I have just loved from page one up until now. Flynn really is the one redeeming thing in this book. He is perfect in his imperfection and still true to his character. I loved that boy. But Mercy is getting on my nerves. So selfish, whiny, weak and Aaaaargh. I really couldn't stand her in this book. She so doesn't deserve the attention and love she's surrounded with. I don't really know what the purpose of this book was. No character development for the MC ( as usual Flynn had some so that was OK). I didn't feel the story moved forward either, it felt like a very out of topic bonus story. A lot of new plots added instead of trying to get the story to finish. I'm really frustrated about this. I suppose I will read the last book since I'm still invested in Flynn and his whereabouts. But I really hope the last book is the last and that it will be much less messy than this one. 2.5 stars.
Like many, I was extremely excited to FINALLY read this book. To say I am disappointed is putting it mildly. First, the book had way too many grammatical errors, misspelled words, and just simply misuse of words. To an avid reader, that's annoying. Second, we left the last book with McKayla and Mercy becoming partners in the quest to grieve and find Luke. It was badass. She was finally going to own her demon and use it to kick some ass. But no. McKayla made a brief appearance at the beginning and at the end. WHY??? Majority of the book seemed rushed and all over the place. It was confusing. I had to re-read some chapters to understand what was being told. And finally, we have another cliff hanger, and a new plot introduced that obviously goes into another book with yet more men falling over themselves for Mercy and Flynn being stuck in limbo about where he stands with her.
Simply put. Please make the last book the last in this series and end it once and for all. i loved the first three books. This was a disappointed.
I honestly don't know what I would do without this series! I often recommend this series to friends and try to spread the word, but to announce it....I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WHOLE SERIES to anyone with an interest in love triangles, paranormal romance, or angsty goodness.
Once again, I am sucked in to the Cambion world and I never want to leave. I fall more and more in love with Flynn in each book. I am so please with the outcome of this installment in the series...the chemistry, the enlightenment, and the emotion! I feel so much with the characters! The plot is thickening and I feel an end coming. For which, I am anxious, excited, and nervous to read. I'm sure both Team Flynn and Team Luke fans are in the same boat. Eee! (Note sound effect of my excitement please!)
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! THAT BLOODY CLIFF HANGER!!!! GOD!!!!!!! I've been literally dying to read it and when I actually do find the time to read it, my heart just keeps breaking page after page and then I finally let out my agony full scream at the last page and felt like the book physically stabbed me in the heart REPEATEDLY! Overall this one was EPIC! I absolutely adore both Flynn AND Luke but I don't yay know who to choose cuz they both are perfect! And Flynn being mates with Mercy is just the saddest thing when she loves Luke just as much and the whole relationship might I say, is fucked up! I really really really really really really REALLY hope that things get better in the next book and there are no heart to break. At least what's left of it.

I love this series, when I started reading them I didn't realise they weren't a complete series but on the up side I enjoyed reading them all again before this book only to find out there is one more?
This book was good I took stars away only because I was thinking it was the last so when it wasn't wrapping up I started to scrim pages. I didn't like Mercy in this book, mainly because I'm team Flynn and she spends this book going on and on about Luke, my heart was breaking for Flynn.
Good story I like the added adventure into their lives and good cliff hanger. I just hope we don't have to wait long for the final book to come out
I was so excited to read this book but was a bit disappointed. You definitely get to find out where everyone is and what happened to Mercy and her friends. The main problem I first came across is that it needed a bit more editing. I had to re-read paragraphs or sentences to understand what was written. I think this book could have been great sending Mercy and Flynn on an adventure through Fairy, but it was just hastily written. As a fan of the author, I know that there was a lot of pressure to get this book out. Though if she would have taken a little more time to write out the story where I felt like I wasn't reading a completely different book series,it could have been better.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
wooooo!!! Seriously #4? This is for real? I am so overjoyed!
That's not an ending I pictured. I am not happy with it. I did not enjoy it as I use to, the only think that's keeps me reading is Flynn, my lovely boy. I do not get this new characters, I don't see a point of adding those to the story. Just please give a break my boy and give him a good ending. Its heart breaking to see how Mercy treats him. I don't care about Mercy or Luck anymore, but yes I will look for book 5 to see Flynn to get his happy ending and enjoy reading abut him.
This book confirmed for me all the reasons why I love Flynn!
This part of the story was way different than the others, it was a thrilling read but lacked something the others had.. I think for me it was because the other books had the same "group" of people where as this one introduced new characters and left some of our most loved out. I however did enjoy this read!
I loved the way we seemed to get into Flynn's head a bit and the way he really felt of Mercy from the beginning...
This was the weakest book in the series for me, so far. I got pretty bored with the direction the storyline went, but my main problem was the ridiculous amount of grammatical errors. Normally, I don't really care too much about a few mistakes, but this was on another level. Still, that ending left so much open and now I feel like I have to find out what happens. So hopefully book 5 doesn't disappoint!
Really good...but it was annoying that all the guys were after her. And she keeps pushing away Flynn but when Flynn hangs out with another girl, she gets jealous. She rejected him so it's fair for him to try to move on. I am team Flynn though
