A controversial theory of human common ancestry is presented in a painstaking analysis that draws on the opinions and knowledge of leading evolutionary geneticists and paleoanthropologists
This book discusses the evidence that we are all descendants of a small band of humans who lived in Africa about 200,000 years ago. It was published in 1990, so it is dated--I am sure there have been updates to the science by now. It is a very interesting topic, unfortunately Brown concentrates way too much on the squabbles between scientists for my taste.
